Julianna Homan
Julianna Homan, 65, formerly of Philothea, died at 9:32 a.m. Nov. 5, 2001 at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 29, 1936, in Philothea, to Theodore and Matilda (Braun) Homan.
Surviving are four brothers and their wives, Victor and Esther and Edwin and Luella, all of Philothea, Thomas and Helen, Coldwater, and Louis and Millie, Dayton; three sisters and their husbands, Martina and Carl Uhlenhake, St. Henry, Mary Lou and Ralph Klopfenstein, St. Marys, and Helen and Richard Trigg, Kimberling City, Mo., and a sister, Viola Muhlenkamp, Celina; and two sisters-in-law, Vera, Minster, and Bernadine, St. Henry.
Deceased are two brothers, Raymond and Alfred, and a brother-in-law, Harold Muhlenkamp.
She attended the Cheryl Ann School Workshop and was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Philothea.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Louis Barga officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Calling is 8:30-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Contributions can be made to the church.

James Lemasters
James Irvin "Poj" Lemasters, 60, of Celina, died Nov. 5, 2001 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
He was born Dec. 11, 1940, to Elbert and Flossie Lemasters of Moundsville, W. Va. They survive.
Surviving with his wife of 41 years, Jeannine, are two sons and their wives, Jorel and Jane and Jay and Sharon, all of Dayton; three daughters and their husbands, Jeanie and Rick Normile, Greenville, Jessica and Christopher Smelser and Jacquelyn and Wayne Oplinger, all of Celina, and a daughter, Jill Duncan, Dayton; two brothers and their wives, Elbert and Addie of Las Vegas, Nev., and David and Sandy of London, Ky.; a sister, Belva Teegarden, Orange, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He retired from Roofers Union Local 75. He was a member of Celina Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1473, Celina Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1291, South Shore Sportsman Club and Amvets Post 91.
Arrangements are pending at Martin Funeral Home, Dayton.

Ferdinand Meckstroth
Ferdinand Meckstroth, 101, 201 S. St. Marys St., New Knoxville, died at 11:30 p.m. Nov. 4, 2001 at Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys. He reportedly was the oldest resident of New Knoxville.
He was born Nov. 8, 1899, in New Knoxville, to Benjamin and Anna (Maneke) Meckstroth. On April 20, 1922, he married Jennie Marie Katterheinrich and she died Feb. 3, 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Lois Schuller, New Knoxville; two daughters-in-law, Wilma, St. Marys, and Sandra Berlet, New Knoxville; a brother and his wife, the Rev. Arnold and Martha, St. Marys; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sons, Roland and Dale; a brother, Clarence; two sisters, Louise and Lydia ; one grandson and one great-grandson.
A 1916 graduate of New Knoxville High School, he worked at Kramer & Dickman from 1919 to 1924. He later worked at a milk bottling plant in St. Marys from 1924 to 1946 and retired from Hoge Lumber Co. in 1972. He was a member of New Knoxville United Methodist Church.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Mitch Arnold officiating. Burial will be at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 5-8:30 p.m. today at Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home, New Knoxville, and noon-1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Contributions can be made to the church or the Radio Broadcast Fund of the church.

Glenn Osborn
Glenn Osborn, 77, 8078 Ohio 703 East, Celina, died at 5:46 p.m. Nov. 3, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born April 23, 1924, in Edenton, to Enoch and Opal (Mustard) Osborn. On May 14, 1946, he married Wanda Marunich and she died March 11.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Jacqueline and Dr. Alfredo Paguirigan, Celina; a brother, Ernest, Kettering; three sisters, Edna Sibert and Naomi Borneman, both of Kettering, and Esther Whitaker, Amelia; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
He retired from Dayton-Walther Corp., where he had been a foreman in the machine shop. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home Grand Lake Chapel, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, the Rev. Don Ricard officiating. Burial will be at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens, Centerville.
Calling is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Kathleen Buschur
Kathleen J. Buschur, 45, Greenback Road, Fort Loramie, died at 2:18 p.m. Nov. 6, 2001 at her residence following a lengthy illness with cancer.
She was born Feb. 20, 1956, in St. Marys, to Don and Henrietta (Ritter) Snider. Her mother survives in Fort Loramie. On June 17, 1989, she married Mark A. Buschur and he also survives.
Other survivors include a son and his wife, Don and Angie Albers of Botkins, and a son, Nick Albers of Russia; a stepson, Mark Buschur Jr., Fairborn; a stepdaughter, Holly Buschur, Fort Loramie; a half brother, John Sternberger, Fairborn; two half sisters, Annie Winner, Minster, and Peggy Barga, Sidney; and one grandchild.
Deceased are a grandson, three half brothers and one half-sister.
She was employed at Post Printing, Minster. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, and Minster Eagles Auxiliary 1391.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Gehret Funeral Home, Fort Loramie.
Contributions can be made to Wilson Hospice Care in Sidney.

Othmar Dorsten
Celina native Othmar H. Dorsten, 81, of Northridge, died Nov. 6, 2001 at Vandalia Park Nursing Home, Vandalia.
He was born Feb. 29, 1920, in Celina, to Rudolph and Olive (Schwieterman) Dorsten.
Surviving with his wife of 60 years, Celesta, are two brothers, Robert and Clyde, and a sister, Lois Ann Hemmelgarn.
Deceased is a daughter, Mary Ann.
He retired from Schribers Sheet Metal and Roofing and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, Dayton.
Prayers will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at George C. Martin Funeral Home, Northridge Chapel, 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road, Dayton, with the Funeral Mass to be at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dayton.
Calling is 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Charles Tussing
Former Celina resident Charles R. "Charlie" Tussing, 46, 230 W. Spring Valley Road, Centerville, died at 2:05 a.m. Nov. 5, 2001 at Kettering Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was born Sept. 14, 1955, in Oakland, Calif., to Charles and Onalee (Disney) Tussing. Following the deaths of his parents, he was raised by Richard and Agaitha Overley. On Aug. 5, 1994, he married Teresa Perry and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Derek of Centerville; a brother, Reno of Centerville; a half brother, Mike of West Carrollton; two half sisters, Mary Salles, San Jose, Calif., and Carmen Kennedy-Stone, Woodbridge, Va.; a mother-in-law, Pam Sykes, Mendon, and father-in-law, Bill Perry, Rockford.
Deceased is a sister, Vicky.
He was a tooling engineer at Omni Machine Co., Fairfield, and a former employee of Copeland Corp., Sidney. He was a graduate of Sinclair Community College, Dayton, and the University of Cincinnati. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home Grand Lake St. Marys Chapel, 1605 Ohio 703 West, St. Marys, the Rev. Larry G. Fries officiating. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Thomas Vanderhorst
Thomas A. Vanderhorst, 78, of St. Marys, died at 3:10 a.m. Nov. 6, 2001 at Otterbein Retirement Community, St. Marys, following an extended illness.
He was born April 23, 1923, in Minster, to Harry and Clara (Schrimpf) Vanderhorst. On Oct. 24, 1942, he married Edna Schwieterman and she survives.
Also surviving are a son and his wife, Jim and Kris of St. Marys, and a son, Tom of Annapolis, Md.; two daughters and their husbands, Carol and Ron Jones, New Bremen, and Theresa and Dennis Seewer, St. Marys, and a daughter, Jane of Cincinnati; two brothers, Dick of Knoxville, Tenn., and Jerry of St. Marys; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Harry.
He was the retired owner and operator of Vanderhorst Cannery, St. Marys. He was a 1940 graduate of Memorial High School, St. Marys, and a U.S. Navy veteran. He had served on the board of directors of Home Banking Co. and the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, both of St. Marys, and as a St. Marys Township trustee. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a member and past grand knight of Knights of Columbus Council 1592, and a member of American Legion Post 323 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of St. Marys, and the Ohio Canners' Association.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. David A. Heinl officiating. Private burial services will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.
Contributions can be made to the Joint Township Foundation or the Otterbein Tree of Hope.

Bobby Masters
Bobby L. Maters, 74, 303 E. Milligan St., Fort Recovery, died at 6:11 a.m. Nov. 7, 2001 at Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born June 22, 1927 in Bryant, Ind. to Russell and Imo (Wayman) Masters. On Aug. 29, 1960, he married Thelma Adair, who survives at the residence.
Other survivors are three daughters and their husbands, Vicky and LeRoy Fellers of Ridgeville, Ind., Jackie and Mark Rennie of Alton, N. H., Francis and Robert Langenkamp, Jr. of Portland, Ind.; a daughter, Tina Hunt of Piqua; two sons, James of Portland, Ind. and Michael of Geneva, Ind.; a sister and her husband, Helen and Raymond Street from Pennville, Ind.; two sisters, Dorothy Fitzgerald of Indianapolis Ind. and Nancy Phillips of Barrier, Ky.; three brothers, Herb of Bryant, Ind., Eldon of Indianapolis and Terry of Fla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are one grandson; two brothers, Richard and Allen; and a sister, Maxine Garringer.
He was retired from the former Avco New Idea in Coldwater. She was a 1945 graduate of Bryant, Ind. High School and served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He also served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, both in Fort Recovery and was a member of the Coast Guard Combat Veterans Association.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. in Springhill Cemetery, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Paul Wohlwend officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery. Military graveside honors will be conducted.
Calling is from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Brockman and Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
