Russell Yocum
Russell L. Yocum, 83, a resident of The Gardens of Celina, 1301 Myers Road, died there at 1:15 a.m. today [Nov. 21, 2001].
He was born Nov. 18. 1918, in Blackcreek Township, to Merle and Hazel (Stover) Yocum. He married Elizabeth Ann Klinger and she died Dec. 18, 1998.
Surviving are a son, Seth T. of Greenville; two daughters and their husbands, Martha and John Boeckman, Celina, and Mary and Terry Temple, Mendon, and a daughter, Ann Briggs, Celina; a brother, George of Mendon; two sisters, Doris Piper and Lucile Reed, both of Rockford; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He retired from National Seal, Van Wert. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a life member of the Rockford American Legion Post and a member of Mount Tabor Church of God.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. James Keiser officiating. Burial will be in Tomlinson Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.
Mabel Collins
Mabel S. Collins, 89, 706 Linden Ave., Celina, died at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 22, 2001 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Sept. 23, 1912, in Clayton, to Ira and Pearl (Thompson) Sluterbeck. On Sept. 29, 1934, she married Ellsworth Collins and he died Dec. 7, 1994.
Surviving are four daughters and their husbands, Nancy Miller-Kuhn and Dave Kuhn, Celina, Celia and Gerald Yenser, Watertown, Wis., Karen and Ed Long, Rockford, and Reni and Jack Mescher, Coldwater; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son-in-law, Carl Miller; three sisters, four brothers and a great-grandson.
She was a homemaker and a member of Rockford United Methodist Church.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. George Hubbell officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Floyd Fennig
Floyd K. Fennig, 87, 1456 St. Anthony Road, Coldwater, died at 1:50 p.m. Nov. 21, 2001 at The Gardens of Celina.
He was born July 8, 1914, in Coldwater, to Karl and Elizabeth (Schroeder) Fennig. On March 12, 1938, he married Beulah Monroe and she died May 29, 2000.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Jim and Margie of Coldwater; two daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Jerry Laffin, Coldwater, and Roseann and Warren Menchhofer, Celina; three brothers, Arden of Tucson, Ariz., Dale of Coldwater and Don of Van Wert; a sister, Evelyn Bryan, Celina; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers.
He was a retired farmer and a school bus driver for Washington Township School and Celina City Schools for 27 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Coldwater, Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation and Mercer County Farm Bureau. He was also active in the West Central Ohio Parkinson's Association.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Wabash.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, and after 12:30 p.m. Monday at the church.

Ralph Barge
Ralph C. Barge, 71, 6607 Klosterman Circle, Celina, died at 4:35 a.m. Nov. 23, 2001, at his residence.
He was born March 8, 1930, in Yorkshire, the son of Leonard and Jennifer (Williams) Barge. He married Bernice R. Wenning, who survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Deborah J. of Shoreline, Wash.; a daughter and her husband, Lisa and Jeff Rayback of Kent, Wash.; a bother, John of Ypsilante, Mich.; a brother and his wife, Lloyd and Sue of Rochester, Mich.; a sister, Fran Harris of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
He was the retired owner of Testco Inc. of Bellevue, Wash. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Montezuma, Men's Holy Name Society of the church, a graduate of the University of Dayton, served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, a member of the Coldwater American Legion and was an accomplished trumpet player and singer.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. James Dugal officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Neta Boise
Neta M. Boise, 82, 125 Mercer St. Celina, died at 3:38 a.m. Nov. 23, 2001 at Celina Nursing Home, where she was residing.
She was born Nov. 3, 1919, in Coldwater, the daughter of Andrew W. and Carrie (Adams) Shinn. On April 4, 1936, she was married to Paul E. Boise, who died Nov. 28, 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry of Spokane, Wash. and Paul Jr. of Chillicothe; two sons and their wives, James and Roxanne of Celina and Jeffrey and Chris of Coldwater; two daughters, Jill Howell of Celina and Julie Hussey of Toledo; four daughters and their husbands, Judith and Bob Winkeljohn of Denver, Colo., Jane and Don Long of Celina, Jody and Dick Kramer of Celina and Jackie and Jay Cubbison of Detroit, Mich.; a sister, Helen Pearson of Chicago, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three children, Joyce Ann, Jay Dee and John M.; six brothers, Lawrence, John, Bill, Carl, Clyde and Vernon; and four sisters, Lula, Bernadine, Emma and Mary.
She was retired from Huffy's and a member of the Celina Baptist Temple.
Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at the church with the Revs. Jay Cubbison and Steve Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery in Celina.
Calling is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at W. H. Dick and Sons Funeral Home in Celina.

Dona Corrigan
Dona E. Corrigan, 63, 143 Jack Oak Point Road, St. Marys, died at 5:10 p.m. Nov. 22, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, following an extended illness.
She was born July 9, 1938, in St. Marys, to Elma and Lillian (Piper) Hall. On Oct. 21, 1958, she married Ron Corrigan and he survives.
Also surviving are two sisters and their husbands, Joyce and Leroy Kogge, St. Marys, and Nancy and Lou Hyll, Dayton, and several nieces.
She was a homemaker and previously had worked as a secretary at Stout Insurance Agency and the State of Ohio Employment Office.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home Grand Lake St. Marys Chapel, 1605 Ohio 703 West, St. Marys, the Rev. Joachim Wilck officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton.
There will be no calling hours.
Rev. Augustine Hanchak
The Rev. Augustine J. Hanchak, 77, who resided at St. Charles Center in Carthagena since 1992, died there Nov. 20, 2001.
He was born July 29, 1924, in Cleveland, to Michael A. and Anna P. (Fenner) Hanchak.
Surviving are four brothers, Edward, Charles, Richard and Raymond; two sisters and their husbands, Dorothy and James Graham and Alma and Andrew Bajuscak, and a sister, Sister Rita Jo.
Deceased are four brothers, Michael, Joe, Al and Cyril.
He began studying for the priesthood Sept. 7, 1939 at Brunnerdale in Canton and then moved to Rensselaer, Ind., where he completed his high school training at St. Joseph Academy and two years of study at St. Joseph College. In the fall of 1942, he transferred to St. Charles Major Seminary, Carthagena, and joined the Society of the Precious Blood Dec. 3, 1946. He was ordained May 19, 1952.
He served at St. John Catholic Church in Whiting, Ind., and St. Rose Convent in LaCrosse, Wis., before leaving for an assignment in Chile as an assistant hospital chaplain and parochial vicar. After returning to the United States in 1959, he spent the next 20 years serving parishes in Kansas, Illinois, Wisconsin, Texas and Ohio, including an appointment as pastor at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. His last assignment was as chaplain at St. Francis Rehabilitation Hospital and Nursing Home, Green Springs.
Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. Monday at St. Charles Center, the Rev. Mark Miller, provincial director, officiating. Burial will be in the community cemetery.
Calling is 1-9 p.m. Sunday at St. Charles Center.
Ralph Siegrist
Ralph A. Siegrist, 87, 3279 U.S. 127, Celina, died at 10:20 a.m. Nov. 23, 2001 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born May 3, 1914, in St. Anthony, the son of Joseph and Catherine (Wendel) Siegrist. Oct. 5, 1940, he married Rita A. Lefeld, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Earl and Marlene, Celina, and Roger and Jean, Coldwater; a daughter and her husband, Jeanette and Jerry Pleiman, Vandalia; a brother and his wife, Vitus and Dorothy, Maria Stein; three sisters, Ann Marx, Crystal Lake, Ill., Minnie Liller, Dayton, Martha Pierce, Vandalia, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Deceased are five brothers and two sisters.
He was a retired farmer and worked as a salesman at Katolight Alternators for over 16 years. He was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Carthegena. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Mens Society, Knights of Columbus Council 1991 in Coldwater, the Mercer County Elks Lodge, Coldwater Fraternal Order of Eagles # 3025, the Mercer County and National Cattlemans Association, the Farm Bureau and the National Farmers Union.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Revs. David and Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is from 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Evelyn Puthoff
Evelyn I. Puthoff, 85, formerly of Chickasaw, died at Community Hospital, Coldwater, at 9:07 p.m. Nov. 22, 2001.
She was born Oct. 5, 1916 in Chickasaw to Louis and Mary (Link) Grieshop. On Sept. 1, 1945, she married Henry Puthoff, who died May 23, 1972.
Survivors are four sons and their wives, Nick and Betty, Celina, Gary and Marla, Spencerville, John and Karen, Montezuma, Tony and Cathy, Philothea; two daughters and their husbands, Donna and Mike Dorsten, Mount Gilead, and Marsha and Jeff Schwieterman, Maria Stein; a daughter, Janet Puthoff, Centerville, a son-in-law, Bill White, Maine; five brother-in-laws, Ray and Scott of St. Henry, Cy Link of Burkettsville, Richard of Chickasaw and Merinus of Maria Stein; and two sister-in-laws, Rela Grieshop of Rockford and Mary Grieshop of Harvard, Ill; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was a retired aide from St. Charles Infirmary. She was a member of Precious Blood Church in Chickasaw and the Ladies Rosary Alter Sodality of Precious Blood Church and Nativity Church.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Cassella, Revs. John Bensman and Fred Ryder officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
