Eleanor Wiss
Eleanor M. Wiss, 94, a resident of Otterbein St. Marys and a former resident of 02609 Waesch Road, St. Marys, died at 10:45 a.m. Nov. 27, 2001 at Otterbein, where she had resided since January 1993.
She was born Nov. 29, 1906, in Hardin County, to Carl and Jessie (Reed) Schwartz. On Dec. 27, 1961, she married Leo C. Wiss and he died Aug. 1, 1995.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, George and Rosemary of Minster and Tom and Brenda of St. Marys; a daughter and her husband, Marilyn and Tim Kuenning, New Bremen; a sister, Katherine Walkins, Bucyrus; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Marjorie Kelly.
A graduate of Kenton High School, she had worked at the former Kenton Grocery Co. and later as a private secretary at Lima Electric Motor Co. She had been a notary public since 1948. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. David Heinl officiating. Burial is at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Chester Freeman
Chester A. Freeman, 84, 425 E. Wayne St., Celina, died at 3:10 p.m. Nov. 28, 2001 at his residence.
He was born July 30, 1917, in Celina, to Arthur and Nellie (Smith) Freeman. On June 30, 1946, he married Bernice M. Gordon and she died Nov. 2.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Nathan and Terry of Oregon and Calvin and Linda of Celina; a daughter and her husband, Denise and Kerry Zuercher, Celina; two sisters-in-law, Doris Freeman, Hicksville, and Maxine Gordon, Graford, Texas; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Glenn, Lester and Alvin, and two sisters, Gladys Boise and Mary Rain.
He retired from Mersman, Celina, and Celina Steam Laundry. He attended Celina High School and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a master sergeant in the Aleutian Islands during World War II and earning a number of medals. He attended Celina Church of the Nazarene and was a member of Celina First Church of God for more than 50 years and a life member of Celina Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1291.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Larry Hamilton officiating. Burial will be at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Rachel Klosterman
Rachel Judith Klosterman, 59, 301 N. Cedar St., Coldwater, died at 4:57 a.m. today at her residence. Death was due to natural causes.
She was born March 10, 1942, in Celina, to George and Lillian (Grieshop) Billerman. On Nov. 19, 1971, she married Earl Klosterman and he survives.
Also surviving are five sons and their wives, Donald and Charmaine and Michael and Julie, all of Coldwater, Daniel and Laura of Minster, Charles and Angela of Huber Heights and Kevin and Cynthia of Toledo; a daughter and her husband, Teresa and Gary Kronenberger, Vandalia; two brothers and their wives, George and Pam Billerman of Findlay and Frank and Joanne Billerman of Coldwater; a sister and her husband, Mary Lee and Tom Thomas, Coldwater; a sister-in-law and her husband, Jeanette and Howard Osterholt, St. Henry; and 13 grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, William and John and a sister, Judith Ann.
She retired as a kindergarten teacher at Coldwater Elementary School. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, St. Ann Rosary-Altar Sodality, the church choir, Coldwater American Legion Auxiliary, Coldwater Kiwanis Club and the Mercer County Elks.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Ronald Wilker officiating. Burial will be at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-9 p.m. Sunday and 9 -10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Julie Gage
Julie Gage, 25, of Arcanum, died Nov. 26, 2001 at the Trotwood home of her parents. Death was due to cancer.
She was born May 13, 1976, in Dayton, to Donnie and Patricia (York) Rowe. They survive.
Also surviving are her husband of 21/2 years, Brian; a son, Kyler, 15 months; maternal grandparents, Glenn and Gracie York, Trotwood; the father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stanley and Sylvia, Bartlett, formerly of Celina; the grandmothers, Lanora Behm, Celina, and Thelma, Pickerington, formerly of Celina; and two sisters-in-law, Brooke and Shelli, Trotwood.
Deceased are the paternal grandparents, Don and Glenna Rowe.
She was a 1994 graduate of Trotwood Madison High School, where she was a four-year member of the National Honor Society and the band, and a 1999 honor graduate of Ohio State University, Columbus. She was a member of Salem Church of God.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Rolland Daniels officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Trotwood.
Calling will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of services at the church.

Leonard Watercutter
Leonard A. "Pete" Watercutter, 81, County Road 33A, Wapakoneta, died at 6 a.m. Nov. 28, 2001 at The Gardens, Wapakoneta.
He was born April 11, 1920, in McCartyville, to Bernard J. and Matilda M. (Volbert) Watercutter. On Nov. 11, 1947, he married D. Eileen Smith and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons and their wives, Ronald A. and Christine and Douglas L. and Rebecca, all of Wapakoneta, and two sons, Paul E. of Wapakoneta and James L. of Cridersville; one sister and her husband, Barbara and George Taylor, Shreve, and two sisters, Katherine Elsass, Wapakoneta, and Martha Kinstler, Sidney; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, Gregory, John, Paul and Gust, and three sisters, Lena Eyink, Cecilia Giese and Verona Steinke Frankenberg.
He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, in 1981 after 41 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theatres during World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus Council 1272 and Amvets Post 333, all of Wapakoneta.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Peter Chiodo officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta, with military rites conducted by the Wapakoneta Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Bayliff & Ely Funeral Home, Wapakoneta. A prayer service will be held there at 8 p.m.

Wayne Holleman
Former Mercer County area resident Wayne H. Holleman, 78, of Armour, S.D., died Nov. 26, 2003, at Douglas County Memorial Hospital in Armour.
He was born May 10, 1925, in Springfield, S.D., to Urban and Claice Monfore Holleman.
Surviving are a son, Wayne Jr. (Linda) of Shepherdsville, Ky.; a daughter, Roxanna (Larry) Craft, Sandusky; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He graduated from Springfield High School in Springfield, S.D., and from the St. Louis College of Mortuary Science in St. Louis, Mo., in 1947. He owned businesses in Missouri and Ohio and served as a pilot with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Koehn Brothers Funeral Home in Armour. Burial will follow at Springfield Cemetery.
Calling is 5-7 p.m. Nov. 30 at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to the Senior Citizens Center in Armour.
Simon Neuenschwander
Simon "Sam" D. Neuenschwander, 77, of Van Wert, died at 9:05 a.m. Nov. 27, 2003, at Vancrest Nursing Home, Van Wert.
He was born Dec. 11, 1925, in Adams County, to David P. and Katherine L. Amstutz Neuenschwander. On June 29, 1947, he married Esther R. Liechty who died in 1981. On Feb. 12, 1983, he married Doris Worthington who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Susan Kaye (David) Wulliman, Berne, Ind., Ann Marie (James) Zollinger and Denise Arlene (Dan) Duvall, all of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Jo Elaine (Eldon) Williams, Celina; three stepsons, Robert (Patricia) Worthington, Wyoming, Larry (Mary) Worthington, Conover, and Freddie (Brenda) Worthington, Springborol; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.
Other survivors include five brothers, Philip D., Alvin D., William D., Paul D. and Howard D., all of Berne; and three sisters, Lydia (Joel) Neuenschwander and Laura (Omer) Sprunger, all of Berne, and Maryann (Roger) Beer, Linn Grove.
Deceased are three brothers, David, Vilas and Daniel, and a sister, Caroline.
He formerly owned Berne Equity Meat Market and then owned and operated Rockford Locker Service for 25 years. He was a farmer and part-time groundskeeper at Utgard Farms in Van Wert. He also assisted with publication of The Photo Star in Willshire for six years.
He was a member of First Mennonite Church in Berne and served as a volunteer during World War II.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Craig Maven and Marie Nussbaum officiating. Burial will follow at M.R.E. Cemetery, Berne.
Calling is 2-9 p.m. Sunday and 9-11 a.m. Monday at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, Berne, and after noon Monday at the church.

Stella Schoenlein
Stella E. Schoenlein, 97, formerly of North Frankfort Street, Minster, died Nov. 28, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. She had lived at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Minster the past two-and-a-half years.
She was born May 30, 1906, in Maria Stein, to Henry and Carolina Mescher Heitkamp. On April 22, 1930, she married Urban Schoenlein, who died Nov. 29, 1992.
She was the last surviving member of her family.
Deceased are five brothers and two sisters.
She was a homemaker and had worked at the Minster Canning Factory. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Louis Schmit officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.

Dale Harter
Dale R. Harter, 78, of Celina, died at 3:55 p.m. Nov. 26, 2003, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
He was born Dec. 31, 1924, in Greenville, to Ernest and Elizabeth M. Kershner Harter. On July 12, 1945, he married Betty Miesse who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Tim (Barb) of Celina, Steve (Linda) of Van Wert, and Ted (Becky) of Bristol, Ind.; a daughter, Sue (Dan) Steinbrunner, Celina; a sister, Millie Dunham, Union City; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are five brothers, Jim, Ray, Charles, Gene and Abe, and two sisters, Wilma Heppeard and Nina Chaney.
He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, and worked for many years as a registered umpire for boys baseball and girls softball. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion posts, all of Celina, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, St. Marys. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a prisoner of war.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Stephen Merold officiating. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. today at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.
