Lester Kinninger
Lester H. Kinninger, 83, 17467 Gearhart Road, Sidney, died at 2:05 p.m. Nov. 21, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
He was born Sept. 30, 1920, in Fort Loramie, to Leo and Caroline (Watercutter) Kinninger. On May 11, 1946, he married Mildred R. Geise, and she died Sept. 12, 2002.
Surviving are three daughters, Jane (Larry) Grogean, Russia, Kristi (Mark) Marcum and Sharon (Bill) Kerber, all of Sidney; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Donna Vonderheuval, two brothers, Andrew and Bernard; three sisters, Edna Reineke, Kate Geise and Esther Ruppert; and two grandchildren.
He had worked at Peerless Bread factory and was a farmer.
He was a decorated World War II veteran in the Army Air Corp., receiving the American Theatre Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon with a bronze star, and a World War II Victory Medal with the 41st Photo Reconnaissance Squadron. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Vetrans of Foreign Wars, and Holy Angels Catholic Church, all of Sidney.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Earl Fernandes officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home in Sidney. A Knights of Columbus service at 4 p.m. and an American Legion service at 7:45 p.m. will be held Monday.
Keith Davis
Celina native Keith Albert Davis, 55, 103 E. Wood St., Versailles, died at 10:45 p.m. Nov. 19, 2003, at his residence. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born July 27, 1948, in Celina, to Albert and Nihla George Davis. On Oct. 12, 1968, he married Mary Jo Paulus who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Jason of Dayton, Jonathan Keith (Ashley) of Savannah, Ga., and Joshua Kent of Versailles; a daughter, Jessica Jo (Jon) Pothast, Versailles; two brothers, Kent (Betty) and Richard, no town listed; and four grandchildren.
A brother, Mark, is deceased.
He was employed at GM Truck and Bus. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, both of Versailles. He was a 17-year member of the Versailles Volunteer Fire Department and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. David Vincent officiating. Burial will be at St. Valberts Cemetery, Versailles.
Calling is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles.

Anthony Marchal
Anthony H. Marchal, 85, 18 Elm St., Fort Loramie, died at 12:20 p.m. Nov. 20, 2003, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster.
He was born June 15, 1918, in Darke County, to Louis and Mary Farno Marchal. On June 21, 1939, he married Rozitta A. Barhorst who died June 29.
Surviving are six sons, Kenneth of Dayton, Jerome (Doris) of Troy, Dennis (Barbara) of West Carrollton, Dale (Rose) of Englewood, Randall (Debra) of Russia, and Ronald (Tina) of Botkins; three daughters, Connie (James) Millhouse, Russia, Illean (Frank) Raterman, Sidney, and Jane (Michael) Horstman, Minster; a brother, Joseph of Russia; two sisters, Marcella Barhorst, Newport, and Mary Magdalene Weiskittle, Sidney; a brother-in-law, Raymond Holscher, Newport; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Marchal, Tipp City, and Adele Marchal, Versailles; 31 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter-in-law, Elaine Marchal; six brothers, two sisters and three great-grandchildren.
A retired farmer, he drove bus for Russia Local Schools for 23 years and Fort Loramie Schools for seven years. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, Knights of Columbus, Russia, Fourth Degree St. Gaspar del Buffalo Knights and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1391, both of Minster, and the Newport Sportsman Club. He formerly served on the Russia Equity Board of Directors.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Newport.

Joan Staugler
Joan F. Staugler, 74, 208 Gwendolyn St., Fort Recovery, died at 10:36 a.m. Nov. 20, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 18, 1929, in Celina, to Wallace and Genevieve Steiner McGough. On Sept. 19, 1949, she married Lester Staugler who died Aug. 3, 1989.
Surviving are five sons, Paul (Kathy), Jack (Marcia), Bill (Roberta) and Bob (Jodi), all of Fort Recovery, and Dave (Sue) of Celina; a daughter, Mindy of Fort Recovery; three brothers, Wesley (Rosie) McGough, Hicksville, John (Sharon) McGough, Celina, and Frank (Judy) McGough, Dayton; three sisters, Jane (Herb) Tobias, Brookville, Kathy (Bob) Rutledge, Rockford, and Jeanette Ballou, Celina; a sister-in-law, Cindy McGough, Fort Recovery; and 14 grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Linda; a brother, William McGough; and a sister, Rose Ann Teboe.
She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery.

Laveda Baucher
Laveda B. Baucher, 95, formerly of 313 E. Livingston St., Celina, died at 9:58 a.m. Nov. 19, 2003, at The Gardens at Celina.
She was born Jan. 13, 1908, in Mercer County, to John and Nettie Smith Now. On Nov. 7, 1929, she married Arlie Baucher who died Aug. 23, 1968.
Surviving are four daughters, Marjorie Canary and Doris (Gail) Grunden, all of Celina, Beatrice (Robert) Linn, Rockford, and Lois (Howard) Snyder, Perrysburg; three sisters, Margaret Weitz, Xenia, Loretta Fast and Mabel Koontz, both of Celina; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, eight stepgreat-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son-in-law, Darlene Canary; a brother, Herbert Now; a sister, Beulah Bradford; and a granddaughter.
She had been a cook at Camp Otyokwah and a 4-H adviser for many years. She was a member of Pleasant View Church of God, Hopewell Grange and the Sunshine Singers.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Church of God, Celina, the Rev. Mark Wakeland officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Mark Brackman
Mark C. Brackman, 43, 677 Burrville Road, Fort Recovery, died at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 19, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 30, 1959, in Celina, to Zeno and Julianna Reier Brackman. On Aug. 3, 1985, he married Doris Berning who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Gregory, Daniel and Eric, and a daughter, Michelle, all at home; six brothers, Charles (Mary) of Wapakoneta, Joe and Paul, both of St. Joe, Luke (Luella) of Coldwater, Eugene (Joyce) of Maria Stein, and Albert (Linda) of Philothea; three sisters, Virginia (Lester) Meyer, Coldwater, Rosemary (Carl) Stachler, St. Wendelin, and Rita (Vaughn) Wakefield, Versailles; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard and Irene Berning, Versailles; and a brother-in-law, Steve Borges, Minster.
A sister, Mary Borges, is deceased.
He was a truck driver for Fort Recovery Equity and a farmer. A 1978 graduate of Fort Recovery High School, he was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, Knights of Columbus Council 3324 and the Progressive Sportsman Club, both of Fort Recovery.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Matthew Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-9 p.m. Friday and 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. The K of C will conduct a prayer service there at 8:15 p.m. Friday.
Everett Dicus Jr.
Everett W. Dicus Jr., 67, 729 Indiana Ave., St. Marys, died at 9:47 a.m. Nov. 19, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born Feb. 1, 1936, in Lima, to Everett W. Sr. and Harriet Sherer Dicus. On Nov. 6, 1954, he married Arlene Wierwille who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Scott (Lora) of Minster, Greg (Denise) and Michael (Julie), all of St. Marys; three daughters, LeeAnn (James) Jones, Buckland, Michele (Terry) Shoffner and Jill (Dennis) Knous, all of St. Marys; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He owned the former Village Corner Party Shop and retired from Airport Manufacturing Corp., both of New Knoxville. He attended Living Hope Assembly of God, St. Marys, and was a 1954 graduate of Blume High School, Wapakoneta.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. John Nunnally officiating. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.

Deborah Evers
Deborah S. Evers, 48, 12528 Detrick Road, Rossburg, died of cancer at 2:40 p.m. Nov. 18, 2003, at her residence.
She was born June 20, 1955, in Greenville, to Frank and Ethel Rhotehamel Lenker. They survive in Rossburg. On Aug. 11, 1973, she married Patrick J. Evers who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Brian, at home, and Jason of Greenville; a sister, Toni (Sam) Custer, Versailles; and a brother-in-law, Joe Klingshirn, Rossburg.
Deceased are a sister, Lori Klingshirn.
She designed and made crafts for home interiors. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, where she taught Vacation Bible School, and the Rosary Altar Society, both of Greenville, and Good Sam Travel Club Chapter 28. A 1973 graduate of Ansonia High School, she was an Ohio Reads mentor at Ansonia Elementary School.
Funeral Mass is 11:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. John White officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. today at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville. A prayer service will be held there at 3:30 p.m.

Lane Leverette
Lane N. Leverette, infant son of Robert T. and Jacqueline N. Kremer Leverette, 306 S. Wayne St., Fort Recovery, was stillborn Nov. 19, 2003, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
Surviving are a sister, Ramsey, at home; the grandparents, Nick and Lois Kremer and Cindy Leverette, all of Fort Recovery, and Bob Leverette, St. Henry; and the great-grandparents, Letha Frost, Scottsville, Ky., and Paul and Mary Ann Kremer, Maria Stein.
Graveside services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Cemetery, St. Joe, the Rev. Kenneth Alt officiating.

Raymond Dobmeyer
Raymond B. Dobmeyer, 92, of Coldwater, died Nov. 18, 2003, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
He was born June 1, 1911, in Miller City, to Michael and Emma Rechtine Dobmeyer. In 1939, he married Esther Sunderhaus who is deceased.
Surviving are two sons, Frank (Marilyn) of Cincinnati and Paul (Ginny) of Coldwater; three daughters, Kristina (James) Savage, Columbus, Kathy (Mike) Barlow, Dayton, and Ann (John Woodruff) of Longmeadow, Mass.; a sister, Marie Rinaldo, Genoa; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Michael; three brothers, Arthur, Paul and the Rev. Cornelius; and a sister, Clara.
He worked at New Idea in Coldwater, but moved to Detroit, Mich., where he was a designer making jet engines at Rolls Royce during World War II. He returned to New Idea in 1945 and worked there until 1966, when he went to Crown Controls in New Bremen until retirement.
He attended the University of Detroit and Bowling Green State University. He taught grades 5-8 in Chickasaw from 1932 to 1942. He also was a lifelong member and former CCD teacher at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, first Cubmaster of Coldwater Cub Scout Pack 96, one of the founding fathers of Coldwater Park and a former member of the school and park boards.
