Chasity Weagant
Chasity D. Weagant, 14, 4765 Ohio 49, Fort Recovery, died Nov. 7, 2003, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident that evening.
She was born Feb. 6, 1989, in Greenville, to Mike and Carolyn Ward Weagant who survive.
Other survivors are two sisters, Megan and Faith, and a brother, Dylan, all at home; grandparents, Jim and Judy of Fort Recovery, and Charlotte Ward, Celina; and great-grandparents, Lester and Myrtle Bricker, Portland, Ind., and Albert and Dorothy Carden, Winchester, Ind.
She was a freshman at Fort Recovery High School and a member of the school's Show Choir. She was also a member of the Fort Recovery Church of Christ.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Glen Westmoreland officiating. Burial is at Springhill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.

Gregory Oglesbee
Gregory L. Oglesbee, 45, 11786 Sunview St., Lakeview, died at 9 a.m. Nov. 5, 2003, at his residence. Death was due to an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to the Logan County Sheriff's Office.
Oglesbee was the husband of Candy Kennaw Oglesbee, a dispatcher with the Wapakoneta post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Other survivors include two sons, his mother, two brothers, three sisters and a maternal grandmother.
He was employed at BJ's Carryout in Russells Point.
Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Van Horn Funeral Home, Lakeview, the Rev. Dennis King officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Knoxville.
Calling is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Robert Carr
Willshire native Robert F. Carr, 94, 516 Woodcrest Gardens, Decatur, Ind., died at 3:10 a.m. Nov. 6, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born Sept. 29, 1909, in Willshire. In 1935, he married M. Lucile Bonham who died in 1994.
Surviving are a son, Michael (Ann) of Minneapolis, Minn.; a daughter, Barbara of McLean, Va.; a sister, Sarah Eichar, Decatur, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
He worked at General Electric in Fort Wayne for 15 years and retired from farming in 1974. He attended the former Rockford High School.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at Woodcrest Retirement Center, Decatur, the Rev. Brian Wikoff officiating. Private burial services will be at Willshire Cemetery.
Calling is 3-5 p.m. today at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur.
Curtis McEldowney
Curtis L. McEldowney, 71, 4628 North Star-Fort Loramie Road, New Weston, died Nov. 6, 2003, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
He was born April 1, 1932, in Frenchtown, to Alvin and Leoma George McEldowney. His wife, the former Rebecca E. Sanders, survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Duane (Roxanne) of New Madison, Terry of Versailles, Curtis Jr. of New Weston and Scott of Greenville; a daughter, Kay (Polo) Perez, New Weston; a brother, Charles of Versailles; a sister, Mary Knick, Ansonia; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A retired farmer, he had worked at Werling & Sons of Burkettsville for 37 years. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Burkettsville.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. Matt Jozefiak officiating. Burial will follow at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville.
Calling is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Oliver Funeral Home, Greenville.

Donald Bates
Donald Edward Bates, 60, of Rockford, died at 5:03 a.m. Nov. 5, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born Sept. 3, 1943, in Decatur, Ind., to Glen Edward and Annis Marbaugh Bates. His mother survives in Willshire. On Jan. 13, 1962, he married Nancy B. Baker and she survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Tyler (Suzanne) of Gibsonburg, Talan (Donna) of Willshire, Trent of Rockford, and Travis (Debbie) of Fremont; a brother, Bill (Rhonda) of Grover Hill; a sister, Donna (Norman) Williamson, Willshire; and 11 grandchildren.
He retired from General Dynamics in Lima and trained standardbred horses full time. He was a member of Zion United Brethren in Christ Church, Willshire, the Mercer County Harness Horse Association, Ohio Harness Horseman's Association, the U.S. Trotting Association and the Indiana Standardbred Association.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, the Revs. M.E. Burckett and Mark Rutledge officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mary Rose Bergman
Mary Rose Bergman, 89, formerly of Fort Recovery, died early today, Nov. 6, 2003, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
She was born Jan. 18, 1914, in Fort Recovery, to John and Mary Maxwell O'Connor. On Oct. 11, 1966, she married Harry Bergman who died Feb. 19, 1980.
Surviving are five stepsons, Ralph (Mary), Walter (Kathryn), Melvin (Peg) and Floyd (Joan), all of Fort Recovery, and Jack (Jean) of St. Henry; four stepdaughters, Ruth Finch, Dayton, and Betty Jean (Cy) Brockman, Margie (William) Hooker and Elsie (Roscoe) Timmerman, all of Fort Recovery; two stepdaughters-in-law, Lucille and Mercedes, both of Fort Recovery; 56 stepgrandchildren and a number of stepgreat- and stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two stepsons, Bob and Lavern; two stepsons-in-law, Robert Finch and Norbert Vogel; a stepdaughter-in-law, Emerita Bergman; and three stepgrandchildren.
She formerly worked as bookkeeper at Fort Recovery Monuments and St. Peter Neurological Center. She also served as a Mercer County Chronicle columnist. A 1932 graduate of Fort Recovery High School, she was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, the Altar Sodality and Daughters of Isabella Chapter 810, all of Fort Recovery.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Paul Wohlwend officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. The Daughters of Isabella will conduct a prayer service there at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Clarence Donovan
Clarence E. "Jack" Donovan, 83, 9139 U.S. 127, Celina, died at 11:31 p.m. Nov. 1, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born July 7, 1920, in Mercer County, to Charles Sr. and Trecia Alexander Donovan. On June 22, 1940, he married Evelyn L. Strabel who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, James (Elaine) of Cecil and Daniel (Janet) of Mendon; five daughters Patricia (Leon) Reynolds, Brunswick, Carol (Lester) Etzler, Willshire, Kathleen (Robert) Schwartz, Decatur, Ind., Joann (Michael) Valentine, Rockford, and Cindy (Steve) Bronson, Warrenton, Va.; three sisters, Ruth Chaney, Mendon, Marie Howell, Celina, and Mary French, Coldwater; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Heindel, Celina, and Pauline Donovan, St. Marys; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are five brothers, Floyd, Ralph, Charles Jr., Paul and Dale, and two sisters, Carrie Britten and Dorothy Rutter.
He retired as a foreman at New Idea, Coldwater, after 42 years of service and served with the U.S. Army's 110th Mountain Division during World War II. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post, all of Celina, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5135, Coldwater.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Tom Arheit officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Celina.

Clara Gritzmaker
Clara A. Gritzmaker, 93, formerly of 212 E. Walnut St., Botkins, died at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 3, 2003, at Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney.
She was born Feb. 12, 1910, in Shelby County, to Herman and Amelia Meckstroth Elshoff. On June 3, 1937, she married Edwin Gritzmaker who died May 10, 1973.
Surviving are a sister, Alice (Robert) Andrews, Cleveland; four nephews and four nieces.
Deceased are eight brothers, Emil, Edwin, Ferdinand, Elmer, Lawrence, Leonard and two infants, and a sister, Caroline Weber.
She retired as a teacher at McCartyville Elementary School near Anna. She helped with coupon refunding to benefit Auglaize School in New Bremen. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, the Women's Guild and the Senior Citizens, all of Kettlersville, and the Shelby County Retired Teachers Association.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with Charles Moeller and the Rev. Fred B. Lacuesta officiating. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery near New Knoxville.
Calling is after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

Robert Klosterman
Robert E. Klosterman, 48, 1899 Flaler Road, Fort Recovery, died Nov. 2, 2003, at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born Oct. 15, 1955, in Coldwater, to Wilfred and Mary Ann Link Klosterman. His mother survives in Fort Recovery.
Also surviving are two brothers, Donald (Sue) of Celina and Dale of Fort Recovery; and four sisters, Donna Jean (Tom) Shawd, Columbus, Paula (Steve) King, Powell, Debra Bergman, Westerville, and Kristine (Jerry) Meiring, Lewis Center.
He was employed as parts manager at K & L Tractor Sales in Fort Recovery. A 1973 Fort Recovery High School graduate, he was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery. He also was a member, treasurer and youth charity campaign chairman for Fort Recovery Knights of Columbus Council 3324.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Paul Wohlwend officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. A wake service is set for 3 p.m. Wednesday and the K of C will meet there for a 7:45 p.m. service.

Robert Teeters
Robert J. "Bobby" Teeters, 38, 509 W. Bremen St., New Knoxville, formerly of St. Marys, was found dead at his residence Nov. 2, 2003. Death was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to funeral home reports.
He was born April 5, 1965, in St. Marys, to Robert and Gayo Place Teeters. His mother survives in Buckland.
Also surviving are his fiancee, Carrie Waterman, New Knoxville; two sons, Brian of St. Marys and Jeff of Cairo; a daughter, Nicole of St. Marys; two half brothers, Shawn and Jason, both of Naples, Fla.; a half sister, Kendra of St. Marys; and two grandsons.
His grandparents are deceased.
He was employed as a press operator at Stolle Corp. in Sidney.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
