Cornelius Heitbrink
Former Auglaize County resident Cornelius J. Heitbrink, 84, of Dayton, died Nov. 19, 2002, in Dayton.
He was born Jan. 15, 1918, in Egypt, to Anthony and Josephine Dahlinghaus Heitbrink.
Surviving with his wife, the former Mary Kleinhenz, are three sons, William (Sue) of Iowa, Mark (Mona) of Charlotte, S.C., and Timothy (Jill) of Virginia; a daughter, Barbara Inman, Dallas, Texas; a brother, Tom, no town listed; two sisters, Mariann Vehorn and Lorena Vagedes, no towns listed; and 10 grandchildren.
Two grandchildren are deceased.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served in Europe and North Africa during World War II. He retired from NCR and the University of Dayton Chemistry Department.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Dayton. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. today at Meyer-Boehmer & Feucht Funeral Home, Dayton. A prayer service is planned there at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Larry Teeple
Former Mendon resident Larry Glenn Teeple, 48, of New Port Richey, Fla., died at 7:45 p.m. Nov. 20, 2002, at Bayonet Point Medical Center, Hudson, Fla. Death was due to complications following a sudden heart attack.
He was born Jan. 18, 1954, in Portland, Ind., to Keith and Elizabeth Teeple. His mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Bennett Schmidt, reside in Mendon. On April 17, 1976, he married Sue Etgen and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Justin (Kim) of Hudson, Fla.; three brothers, Steven (Gilda) of Valparaiso, Ind., Bruce of Goshen, Ind., and Mark of Angola, Ind.; two sisters, Diana (Robert) Fields, Portland, and Betty Lawrence, Celina; two brothers-in-law, Rick (Linda) Etgen and John (Cindy) Etgen, all of Mendon; the mother-in-law, Phyllis Furr, New Port Richey; several stepbrothers and stepsisters; and a granddaughter.
Deceased are a brother, Roger, and the father-in-law, Richard E. Etgen.
He attended Mendon High School and moved to New Port Richey in 1975, where he owned and operated Teeple Crane Service.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Dobies Funeral Home, New Port Richey.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Howard Brooks
Howard Max "Bazz" Brooks, 81, of Spencerville, died at 8:24 p.m. Nov. 19, 2002, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 31, 1921, in Allen County, to Howard and Ethel (Stout) Brooks. On June 26, 1954, he married Betty June Potts and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Randall J. of Spencerville, and a brother, Howard of Delphos.
Two brothers, Donald and Harold Glen, and a sister, Ruth Marie Wilkins, are deceased.
He retired in 1978 as a stock handler at Lima Ford Engine Plant after 20 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army in the Saipan and Asiatic theatres during World War II. He was a life member of Bowersock Brothers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772 and a member of Harry J. Reynolds American Legion Post 191, both of Spencerville. He also was a member of United Auto Workers Local 1219, Lima.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Rev. Oran L. Thomas officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Spencerville Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Merilda Dues
Merilda Dues, 78, 4162 Philothea Road, Coldwater, died at 7:50 p.m. Nov. 20, 2002, at a son's home.
She was born May 23, 1924, in Sharpsburg, to Wes and Philomena (Guggenbiller) Meiring. On April 10, 1945, she married Norman Dues and he died June 7, 1986.
Surviving are three sons, Ken (Peg) of St. Henry, Ben (Vicki) of Coldwater, and Jerry (Joyce) of Celina; two daughters, Judy (Larry) Huelsman, Phillipsburg, and Virginia (Mark) Rammel, Ludlow Falls; 15 grandchildren, one stepgrandchild and seven great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include two brothers, Rich (Mary Helen) Meiring, Fort Recovery, and Tom (Jean) Meiring, Sharpsburg; a sister, Dolores (Don) Kahlig, Sharpsburg; and a sister-in-law, Georgiana Meiring, Sharpsburg.
A daughter-in-law, Janice Dues, and a brother, Herb Meiring, are deceased.
She formerly owned Dues Lumber Mill, Coldwater. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and the Ladies Rosary-Altar Sodality, both of Philothea.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-9 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Bruce VanTrees
Bruce A. VanTrees, 74, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Fort Recovery, died Oct. 23, 2002, at Veterans Hospital in Tucson.
He was born March 6, 1928, in Fort Recovery, to John and Mabel (Gares) VanTrees. He married Jane Ashley in 1951 and she died in 1997. In 1998, he married Josephine Evans and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Rebecca (Robert) Campbell, Rossburg; a sister, Charlotte (Paul) Nieberding, Casa Grande, Ariz.; two grandsons, two stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
A half brother, Edward Bothast, is deceased.
He formerly worked as a barber in Fort Recovery and later established Union Clipper Barber Shop in Union City. He retired as vice president and sales manager of the New Man Division of International Hair Goods Inc., Minneapolis, Minn. He also owned and managed apartments in Fort Recovery.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Masonic Lodge 539, Free & Accepted Masons, the American Legion Post and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, all of Fort Recovery. He formerly attended Fort Recovery United Methodist Church.
Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Robert Dungan officiating. The body was cremated and the ashes will be interred at Greenmound Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Charles Denney
Charles W. Denney, 95, 1335 Ohio 219, Coldwater, died at 7 a.m. Nov. 19, 2002, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 7, 1907, in Coldwater, to William and Pearl (Teeters) Denney. On Oct. 19, 1935, he married Emma Genevieve Grier and she died Feb. 3, 1970.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty Lou Jamieson, Coldwater; a brother, Vaughn of Riverside, Fla.; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, Robert, Jesse, Nick and infant William, and three sisters, Stella, Doris and Monna.
He retired from Avco New Idea, Coldwater and had served as Sunday School superintendent at Macedon Congregational Christian Church. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 539, Fort Recovery.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, with the Revs. Barbara Boggs and Boyce Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at Macedon Cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday and an hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home. A Masonic service is planned there at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Georgia Ditmer
Georgia Lee Ditmer, 70, 1039 Central Ave., Greenville, died at 10:25 a.m. Nov. 19, 2002, at her residence.
She was born May 9, 1932, in Dayton, to Milton and Georgiana (Bowman) Stoner. On Oct. 12, 1952, she married Donald Ditmer and he survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Diana (Dennis) Fulmer, Celina; and a sister-in-law, Jane Stoner McGlinch, Greenville.
A brother, Carl Stoner, is deceased.
She was a homemaker and a 1950 graduate of Greenville High School.
Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Haldon Robarge officiating. Burial will be at Greenville Cemetery.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

George Herzog
George H. Herzog Sr., 83, 302 N. Spruce St., St. Marys, died at 1:45 p.m. Nov. 17, 2002, at Valley Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, St. Marys, following an extended illness.
He was born March 22, 1919, in Amboy, Ill., to Charles and Anna (Pembrooke) Herzog. On March 2, 1946, he married Lilly Felver and she survives.
Also surviving are four sons, George Jr., St. Cloud, Minn., Verlious (Joan) and Leslie, of St. Marys, and Larry (Nancy) of Wapakoneta; a daughter, Merricle of Troy; a brother, William (Mary) of Dixon, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, John, Lawrence and Charles, and a granddaughter.
He retired from Mersman Corp., Celina. He had served as a military police guard with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, with the Rev. C. Bonnie Sanders officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, St. Marys.

Adeline Reigelsperger
Mercer County native Adeline E. Reigelsperger, 79, of Spring Valley, died Nov. 18, 2002, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 14, 1923, in Mercer County, to Frank and Clara (Shockman) Stukenborg. Robert Reigelsperger, her husband of 56 years, survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Gary (Joyce) of Bellbrook, Terry (Kathy) of California, and Chuck (Cathy) of Spring Valley; and three daughters, Deb Stiles, Cincinnati, Cathy (David) Maynard, Camden, and Amy (Joe) Grasso, Missouri.
Other survivors include a brother, Arthur Stukenborg, four sisters, Marcella Reiley, Dayton, Dot Buening and Leona Knapke, both of Mercer County, and Patricia Vondrell, Kettering; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was co-founder of Dayton Corrugated Packaging Corp. and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Tom Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.

Scott Winner
Scott A. Winner, 36, 12620 Willowdell Road, Versailles, was pronounced dead on arrival at 11:31 a.m. Nov. 18, 2002, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He had been involved in a farm accident near Yorkshire earlier that morning.
He was born March 26, 1966, in St. Marys, to John "Jack" and Norma (Riethman) Winner. His mother survives in Yorkshire. On Sept. 17, 1988, he married Janel M. Knapke and she survives.
Also surviving are three children, Tara, Chad and Haley, all at home; three brothers, Randy (Cathy), Dale (Cheryl) and Bryan, all of Yorkshire; a sister, Deb (Lou) Brown, New Bremen; the maternal grandparents, Edward and Dorothy Riethman, Minster; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Patricia Knapke, Versailles.
A 1985 graduate of Minster High School, he was co-owner of Four Star Dairy, Yorkshire. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church, Versailles, and the Goat Farmers Organization, Yorkshire, and a former member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at the Fort Loramie church, with the Revs. Steven Shoup and David Vincent officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Fort Loramie.
