Harold Brockman
Former Coldwater resident Harold A. Brockman, 64, died of natural causes at 4:31 p.m. Dec. 10, 2000 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born May 12, 1936, in Mercer County, to Daniel and Hilda (Frilling) Brockman.
Survivors are a son, Jim of Coldwater; three daughters and their husbands, Connie and Jeff Weigel, and Sue and John Backs, all of Coldwater, Lisa and Russ Cron, Dayton, and a daughter, Karen of Coldwater; a sister and her husband, Mary Jane and Leroy Siefring, St. Henry; and nine grandchildren.
Deceased are his parents and two brothers, Sylvan and Lavern.
He was a retired printer from the former New Idea in Coldwater, and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Catherine Deerhake
Former St. Marys resident Catherine E. Deerhake, 88, died at 6 p.m. Dec. 8, 2000 at Baldwin Manor Nursing Home in Kenton.
She was born March 6, 1912, in Decatur, Ind., to Thomas and Lucille (Gessinger) Andrews. On Sept. 4, 1937, she married Alonzo Deerhake, who died April 5, 1991.
Survivors include two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Sandra Fannon, and two brothers, Thurman and Noel Andrews.
She was a homemaker and a member of Saint Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys. She was a graduate of Decatur, Ind., High School.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Joachim Wilck officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Kenneth Huey
Kenneth E. "Kenny" Huey, 64, 1007 E. 500N, Portland, Ind., died Dec. 10, 2000 at Ball Memorial Hospital following an illness.
He was born Dec. 13, 1935, in Jay County, Ind., to Edward G. and Blanche (Ford) Huey. He was married to Sharon Shoemaker, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter and her husband, Kelli and John Lawrence, Portland, Ind., and a daughter, Jill Twigg, Redkey, Ind.; a brother, Edward Jr., Decatur, Ind.; three sisters, Pauline Gettinger, Portland, Ind., Judy Smith, Bryant, Ind., and Nancy Stults, Nashville, Ind.; seven grandchildren and a great-grandson.
He was a truck driver for Stoneco Inc., Celina, and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Bryant, Ind., the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6751, Geneva, Ind., and Ohio Operating Engineers Union.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland, Ind., the Revs. Bassam J. Abdallah and Amy Beitelschees-Albers officiating. Burial with military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post is at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Bryant, Ind.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Gary Kable
Gary W. Kable, 53, of Celina, died of natural causes at 2:09 p.m. Dec. 8, 2000 at Marion General Hospital, Marion.
He was born Sept. 22, 1947, in Mercer County, to William and Mary (Griggs) Kable.
Survivors include four brothers, Keith of Decatur, Ind., Leroy of Celina, Roger of Rockford, and Lowell of Portland, Ind.
Deceased are a brother, Gerald, and his parents.
Services are at 8 p.m. today at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

Luada Katterhenry
Luada M. Katterhenry, 83, 114 Link St., Fort Recovery, died at 9:32 a.m. Dec. 9, 2000 at the Gardens in St. Henry.
She was born Aug. 18, 1917, in Greenville, to Ray and Mabel (Reef) McKee. On Dec. 25, 1935, she married Oliver Katterhenry, who died Jan. 2, 1963.
Survivors are a daughter and her husband, Marilyn and Jack Maloy, Fort Recovery, and a daughter, Carolyn Hale, Nashville, Ark.; a son, Bill of Fort Recovery; a sister, Margaret Felver, Rockford; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services are 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Verl Ballmer officiating. Burial is at Macedon Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is at 1 p.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Robert Knapke
Robert F. Knapke, 74, 392 Kenneth Drive, St. Henry, died at his residence at 3:30 a.m. Dec. 9, 2000.
He was born Nov. 11, 1926, in Cranberry Prairie, to William and Rosa (Hemmelgarn) Knapke. On April 29, 1950, he married Eileen Budde, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Jim and Kendra of New Bremen, and Don and Shannon of Beaver, Okla., and a son, John of St. Henry; three daughters and their husbands, Janet and Joe Bidlack, Celina, Sharon and Gary Hemmelgarn, Fort Recovery, and Sandy and Tony Rindler, St. Henry; a brother and his wife, William and Esther of St. Henry; three sisters, Lucille Hess, Dayton, Hilda, St. Henry, and Sister Julia P.H.J.C., Donaldson, Ind.; and 10 grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers and three sisters.
He was retired from farming and was manager of Mercer Landmark Inc., St. Henry, and service technician for St. Clair Mills, Fort Recovery. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry Kiwanis, American Legion, St. Henry, and Knights of St. John, Maria Stein.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Elsie Meyer
Elsie Meyer, 87, 2547 Ohio 364, Egypt, died at 6:10 p.m. Dec. 9, 2000 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born Nov. 19, 1913, in Minster, to William and Elizabeth (Seger) Bensman. On June 13, 1933, she married Lawrence Meyer, who died May 20, 1982.
Survivors are five sons and their wives, Ralph and Jean of St. Henry, Harold and Hilda of Egypt, Lester and Ginny of Coldwater, Larry and Jeanette of Chickasaw, and Dale and Shirley of New Bremen, and a son, Lavern of Minster; a daughter and her husband, Sally and Roger Behr, Fort Loramie; a daughter-in-law, Eileen Ronnebaum, Montezuma; a brother and his wife, Eugene and Lois Bensman, Wapakoneta; two sisters and their husbands, Alvina and Curtis Rickman, Dayton, and Emmarita and Adam Reise, Akron; 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, Orville, a sister and two brothers.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its St. Anne Ladies Sodality, Egypt.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Revs. William Hoyng and John Bensman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Jennifer Middlestetter
Jennifer M. Middlestetter, 26, 311 Smith St., Ansonia, died at 3 a.m. Dec. 10, 2000 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Ohio 118 near Horatio Harris Creek Road.
She was born Nov. 18, 1974, in Greenville, to Thomas L. and Janet (Hesson) Rieman, both whom survive in Rossburg. On Oct. 16, 1993, she married Brad R. Middlestetter, who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Brett Thomas, and a daughter, Monica Mae, both surviving at home; a brother and his wife, Thomas Jr. and Carla Rieman, Reynoldsburg, and a brother, David Rieman, Rossburg; a sister, Laura Rieman, Rossburg; grandmothers, Annabelle Rieman and Virginia Fields, both of Ansonia; and in-laws, Sally and Ron Middlestetter, Greenville.
Deceased are grandfathers, Elmer Rieman and Franklin Hesson, and stepgrandfather, Curt Fields.
She was employed at Fort Recovery Industries and was a member of East Main Street Church of Christ, Greenville. She was a 1993 graduate of Ansonia High School.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, the Rev. James Morehouse officiating. Burial is at Ansonia Cemetery.

Leon Muhlenkamp
Leon T. Muhlenkamp, 85, 13378 Bornhorst Road, McCartyville, died at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 9, 2000 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
He was born Nov. 25, 1915, in Cranberry Prairie, to John and Catherine (Homan) Muhlenkamp. On Jan. 18, 1939, he married Clotilda Goecke, who survives.
Other survivors are five daughters and their husbands, Ramona and Kenneth Rose, Fort Loramie, Norma and Thomas Siegel, Newport, Mary Jane and James Osborn, Columbus, Lucy and Mark Skinner, Waldorf, Md., and Rebecca and James Rethman, Fort Loramie; three sons and their wives, William and Rose of Tipp City, James and Janet of Tawawa, and Jerrald and Mary of Minster; 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, seven sisters and a grandchild.
He was a foreman at Copeland Corp., Sidney, and was retired from Minster Machine. He served on Anna School Board and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served as its lector, McCartyville, Knights of Columbus, McCartyville.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Patrick Duffy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Jackie Steele
Jackie L. Steele, 69, 917 Murlin Ave., Celina, died at 10 p.m. Dec. 8, 2000 at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born June 9, 1931, in Celina, to Walter and Elma (Wells) Steele. On Dec. 1, 1951, he married Helen Minch, who survives.
Other survivors are a son and his wife, Donald E. and Dian of Celina; a sister, DeMera Patton, Virginia Beach, Va.; two granddaughters and a great grandchild.
Deceased are a son, Robert, two half-sisters and a half-brother.
He was owner of Steele's Automotive Service and was formerly employed at Zanglin and Buschor Motor Sales, all of Celina. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1473, Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 1291 where he had served as past worthy president, all Celina.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Tom Brenberger officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.
