Robert Walden
Robert H. Walden, 84, 2300 Grand Haven Blvd., Troy, Mich., died at 12:10 a.m. Dec. 15, 2000 at St. John's Oakland General Hospital in Madison Heights, Mich.
He was born July 15, 1916, in Corbin, Ky., to John and Stella (Parman) Walden. On May 5, 1955, he married Dorothy Maxine Kohlhorst, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter and her husband, Sandra and Randy Michael, Rochester Hills, Mich.; a son, Ronald B. of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; a sister, Beaulah Heath, Highland, Mich.; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Annette and Raymond Goetz, Spencerville, and Virginia and James Wierwille, Celina; three brothers-in-law and their wives, Herbert and Donna Kohlhorst, and Marlin and Martha Kohlhorst, all of St. Marys, and Leonard and Rheba Kohlhorst, Hope Hull, Ala.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was a retired millwright at Ford Motor Co., Wixom, Mich., and was a member of Masonic Lodge in Fowlerville, Mich.
Services are 11 a.m. Dec. 28 at Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Joachim Wilck officiating. Private burial services will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
There will be no visitation.
Sharon Lauth
Sharon Kay Lauth, 56, of 01737 Arnold Road, St. Marys, died at 7:15 a.m. Friday [Dec. 22, 2000], at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born May 5, 1944, in Lima, the daughter of Lester and Thelma (Sutton) Hammond. On Aug. 2, 1964, she married Ray Lauth, who survives at the residence.
Other survivors are three sons, John Lauth, St. Marys, Paul Lauth, St. Marys and Clayton Lauth, St. Marys; a son and his wife, Robert and Becky Lauth, St. Marys; a daughter, Scarlett Lauth, Columbus; a daughter and her husband, Kathern and Shawn Tuttle of Spencerville and five grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Robert Hammond.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church in St. Marys.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Hillsdale Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Spurgeon officiating. Burial will follow at Kossuth Cemetery, Kossuth.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.

Francis Mackenbach
Francis A. Mackenbach, 61, 419 N. Holly Lane, Rockford, died at 1:40 a.m. Friday [Dec. 22, 2000] at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 26, 1939, in Seneca, Mo., to Anthony Francis and Georgia Maxine (Wilson) Hierholzer.
Survivors are two daughters, Dale Anne Rennie, Cincinnati, Elizabeth Rosemari Rennie, Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, Joseph Hierholzer, Seneca, Mo. and a sister, Mary Fritchey, Seneca, Mo.
She was a retired typesetter from the St. Louis Post Dispatch, St. Louis, Mo. She was the Vice-President of the Laurels of Shane Hill Quilter's Guild in Rockford.
There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, on Friday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Darke/Mercer County Hospice.
Daniel Meyer
Daniel L. Meyer, 52, 507 Lisle St., Celina, died at 2:10 p.m. Friday [Dec. 22, 2000] at Valley Nursing Home in St. Marys.
He was born Jan. 18, 1948, in Celina to Herbert and Betty (Schuck) Meyer. His mother survives. On Nov. 30, 1989, he married Joyce (Will) Meyer, who survives.
Other survivors are: two step sons, Chris Puthoff, Columbus, Matt Puthoff, Celina; a step-daughter, Carla Puthoff, Celina; a step-son and his wife, Randy and Nicki Puthoff, Celina; a brother and his wife, James and Joyce Meyer, Celina; a mother-in-law, Mildred Will, Celina and two grandchildren.
He was retired as Celina City Recreation Director and as a janitor of Celina City Schools. He was a member of the Celina, Assembly of God.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina with Rev. Russell Ewing officiating. Burial will follow at State Line Cemetery, Wabash.
Calling will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
William Eken
William T. Eken, 84, 315 Victoria Drive, Coldwater, died at 8:34 a.m. Friday [Dec. 22, 2000] at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 28, 1916, in Newport News, Va., the son of William and Ina (Myers) Eken.
In 1939, he married Violet Garrett, who died in 1980. On April 3, 1981, he married Lela (Hoenie) McMillan, who survives.
Other survivors are: two daughters and their husbands, Christine and Frank Wierer, Crestview, Fla., Deborah and Joe Wilburn, Jacksonville, Fla.; a son and his wife, William and Malia Eken, Cape Coral, Fla.; a sister, Elizabeth Timberlake, Yorktown Va.; a sister and her husband, Jeanette and Lonnie Morgan, Gloucester Point Va.; two step-sons and their wives, Tom and Sharon McMillan, Coldwater, Larry and Judy McMillan, Walworth, NY.; two step-daughters and their husbands, Gwen and Owen Ashbaugh, Celina, Gayle and Bill Davis, Oceanside, Calif.; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, seven step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
He worked as an electrical instructor and supervisor for Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co., Newport News, Va., and had retired from Mutual of New York Insurance Co., Washington, D.C. He was a graduate of Newport News High School and served an apprenticeship with Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock. He was a member of Coldwater United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, at Coldwater United Methodist Church with Rev. James Sager officiating. Burial will follow at Macedon Cemetery in Coldwater. There will be no visitation. Brockman and Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Coldwater United Methodist Church.
Edward Homco C.PP.S
The Rev. Edward C. Homco C.PP.S, 81, Whiting, Ind., died at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 23, 2000.
He was born June 17, 1919, in Whiting Ind., to John and Anna (Santay) Homco.
Survivor is a sister-in-law, Margaret Homco, Phoenix, Ariz.
Deceased are two brothers, John and the Rev. Michael Homco.
He entered the Society at Canton in 1932 and was ordained to the priesthood at St. Charles Center, Carthagena on Dec. 5, 1943. During his years of priesthood he served at Lyndora Home, Hammond, Ind., St. Gabriel Church, Detroit, Mich., and served 55 years as pastor of St. John the Baptist, Whiting Ind.
Funeral Mass is 7 p.m. at the church, Bishop Dale Melczek officiating. Burial is Saturday in the community cemetery.
Calling is 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Baran's Funeral Home, Whiting, Ind., and 12-7 p.m. Thursday at the church. A wake service will be held Friday at St. Charles Center, Carthagena, and calling will continue until 9 p.m. A Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles prior to the burial.
Francis McCarthy C.PP.S
The Rev. Francis McCarthy C.PP.S, 83, died Dec. 18, 2000 at Grant Hospital, Columbus.
He was born Feb. 16, 1917, in Hartford, Conn., to William and Frances (Pretto) McCarthy.
Survivors are a brother, the Rev. Edward McCarthy C.PP.S, of Rensselaer, Ind.
He entered the Missionaries of the Precious Blood at Burkettsville on Sept. 12, 1930, and was ordained to the priesthood on March 8, 1942. During his years of priesthood he served at Brunnerdale High School Seminary, Canton, St. John Vianney Church, Flint, Mich., Holy Angels Church, Dayton, St. Patrick Church, Lexington, Ky., Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Attica, and St. Joseph Church, Victoria.
Mass is 2 p.m. Friday at St. Charles Center, Carthagena. Burial is in the community cemetery.
There are no calling hours.

Dwight Secaur
Former Rockford resident Dwight D. Secaur, 83, of Van Wert, died at 6 p.m. Dec. 24, 2000 at his home.
He was born Dec. 18, 1917, in Van Wert to Ray Sr. and Minnie (Forney) Secaur. He married Marjorie Nieford who survives.
Other survivors are two sons and their wives, Barry and Judy of Decatur, Ind., and Jim and Sierra of Van Wert; two daughters and their husbands, Karen and Jim Feasby, Convoy, and Diana and Rick Boley, Scott; a brother, Ray Jr. of Florida; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Gerald.
He owned and operated Secaur's Tavern, Ohio City, and the former Secaur's Marathon Service Station, Van Wert, and worked at the former Continental Can Co., Van Wert. He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1320 and the Masonic Lodge, both of Van Wert, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie, Rockford. He was a member of the Van Wert Men's Bowling League.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Brickner Funeral Home, Van Wert. Burial is at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Helen Snethkamp
Helen Louise Snethkamp, 79, 301 Defiance St., St. Marys, died at 5:56 a.m. Dec. 25, 2000 at Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.
She was born Oct. 31, 1921, in St. Marys to August Lewis and Grace (Standish) Frey. In 1942 she married Elmer L. Scheffler who died in 1983. On Oct. 9, 1986, she married Glen N. Snethkamp who survives.
Other survivors are a stepdaughter, Linda Allison, Gahanna; and a granddaughter.
Deceased are two sisters, Mildred Frey and Virginia Dill, and a brother, Harold Frey.
She was retired as a self-employed antique dealer in St. Marys. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys. She was a 1939 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School.
Services are 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Joachim K. Wilck officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

Harding Wright
Harding F. (Brady) Wright, 80, 13728 Oswalt-Good Road, Fort Recovery, died Dec. 24, 2000 at Veteran's Administration Hospital, Dayton.
He was born Oct. 30, 1920, in Greene County, Tenn., to J.A. and Bessie (Jenkins) Wright. On Feb. 23, 1952, he married Margaret Liette who survives.
Other survivors are two sons and their wives, David and Cheryl of Portland, Ind., and Michael and Cathy of Union City; three daughters and their husbands, Kathy and Dwight Stump, Fort Recovery, Krista and Daryl Oliver, Bolivia, S.C., and Karla and Tom Stevenson, New Madison; two brothers, Frank and Howard, both of Union City; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two grandsons, six brothers and a sister.
He was a farmer and worked at Fort Recovery Industries. He was retired from Portland Industrial Products. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veteran's of Foreign Wars 6515, Fort Recovery.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Reichard Funeral Home Inc., Union City, Ind., the Rev. Alan Funk officiating. A military graveside service will be held at Teegarden Cemetery, Ansonia.
