Mable Thut
Mable O. Thut, 93, who had resided with a daughter at 10277 Lock Two Road, Botkins, died at 2:55 a.m. Dec. 15, 2001 at Heartland of Piqua.
She was born Nov. 16, 1908, in Eaton, to Alva and Amelia (Weaver) Stout. On May 5, 1936, she married Ray O. Thut, who died Jan. 27, 1960.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Don and Carolyn of Wapakoneta; a daughter, Elaine Timmerman, Botkins; a sister, Ruth Britton, Dayton; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Raymond K., Elmer H. and Robert D. Stout.
She was a homemaker and a former employee of Frigidaire in Dayton. She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dayton.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. James Melter officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. today and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mary Ann Bost
Mary Ann Bost, 63, 118 Wild Cherry St., Celina, died at 2:45 p.m. Dec. 14, 2001, at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima.
She was born Jan. 2, 1938, in St. Marys, the daughter of Elmer and Genevieve (Makley) Rohr. On June 10, 1963, she married Paul (Tom) Bost, who survives.
Other survivors include her mother in Celina; three daughters and their husbands, Lori and James Yaney Sr., Lisa and Mark Burgoon and Teresa Lynn and Brian Wylds, all of Celina; one stepson and his wife, Mike and Bonnie Bost, Fayetteville, N.C.; one sister and her husband, Margaret and Don Reineke, Belleview, Fla.; one brother and his wife, Jim and Barb Rohr, Chickasaw; 11 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father; two brothers, Paul and Marvin Minkner; one sister, Mary Jane Rohr; and one grandson.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Celina.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lehman Funeral Home in Celina, with the Rev. Thomas Brenberger officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Celina.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Eugene Caillet
Eugene "Pete" Caillet, 82, 811 Edwards St., St. Marys, died at 12:20 a.m. Dec. 17, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born Feb. 17, 1919, in Akron, to Frank and Flora (Faust) Caillet. On Sept. 4, 1943, he married Norma Wright and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Nell Stevenson, Delaware; a brother and his wife, Jack and Jo of Akron; two sisters, Betty Bruce, Reno, Nev., and Maxine Russell, Detroit, Mich.; two grandsons and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Ruth J. Finke, and a son-in-law, Dr. Thomas D. Stevenson Jr.
He retired as a mechanical engineer from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys. He was a graduate of Central High School and the University of Akron, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta. He served as a major in the U.S. Army Air Corps and retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserves as a lieutenant colonel.
He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, St. Marys, a longtime board member of the St. Marys Community Foundation, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton and Valley of Toledo.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Patricia Minnick officiating. Private burial services will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.

Ronnie Cotterman
Ronnie Lee Cotterman, 61, 816 Fourth St., Carrollton, Ky., died Dec. 16, 2001 at his residence. The cause of death remains undetermined pending an autopsy, according to a funeral home spokesman.
He was born June 30, 1940, in St. Marys, to Samuel and Bessie (Goodwin) Cotterman. On Nov. 21, 1959,he married Katherine Paul and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons and their wives, Ronnie Jr. and Becky of LaGrange, Ky., and Mark and Julie of Celina, and a son, Bredan Holloway, Carrollton; a daughter and her husband, Darlene and Ryan Holloway, also of Carrollton; two brothers, Joe and Lester of Wapakoneta; three sisters, Louise Zimmerman, Betty Wiler and Barbara McEldowney, all of St. Marys; and six grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Robert; two brothers, Sam and John; and six sisters, Pat Chilcoat, Dixie Kramer, Rosemary Holsinger, Delores Sawmiller, Beverly and Judy.
He was a retired electrician.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

William Herwig
William P. "Bill" Herwig, 66, 432 Park St., St. Henry, died at 1:40 a.m. Monday at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born Jan. 26, 1935, in Wyndmoor, Pa., to William and Harriet (Mooney) Herwig. On June 18, 1967, he married Nancy Gallagher and she survives.
Also surviving are a son and his wife, Michael and Lynne Gorni, Doylestown, Pa.; three daughters and their husbands, Anne and Jerry Goyette, Orange Park, Fla., Meg and Dan Osterholt, St. Henry, and Cathy and John Wilcox, Virginia Beach, Va.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Deceased is a daughter, June Marie Pollino.
He was the former manager of Biscayne Motel in Wildwood Crest, N.J., and an employee of St. Henry True Value Hardware and Furniture Store. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran and a member of First Assembly Church of God, Cape May, N.J.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the church with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing, N.J.
Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry, has charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.
Freeman Hile
Freeman Hile, 86, 510 Oil St., St. Marys, died at 6:11 p.m. Dec. 16, 2001 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 14, 1915, in Shelby County, to August and Clara Kay (Kies) Hile. On Nov. 9, 1935, he married Rowena Fogt and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter and her husband, Cecelia and Clifton Houseworth, St. Marys; a niece whom she raised in her home, Alice Nixon, Lafayette; a brother, Lewis of Lima; a sister, Hazel Pavlik, Connersville, Ind.; and three grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Floyd and Arthur, and a sister, Elizabeth Culver.
He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, after 32 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre and earning three bronze stars. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, St. Marys.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Joachim Wilck officiating. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, with Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 9289 and American Legion Post 323 conducting joint military rites.

Roy Hook
Roy Lee Hook, 71, 403 W. Koch St., Ohio City, died at 6:25 p.m. Dec. 17, 2001 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Wellington, Kansas, to Douglas and Ida (Summers) Hook. On May 20, 1967, he married Anna Rumple and she survives.
Also surviving are a son and his wife, Gary and Ruth of Lima; a daughter and her husband, Carolyn and Eric Burger, Mendon; two sisters and their husbands, Dorothy and Warren McCullough, Melrose, and Ada Jane and Edward Rumple, Wapakoneta; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, William and Donald, and two sisters, Margaret and Myrtle.
He retired from Fisher Cheese Co., Wapakoneta, and was a member of Antioch Chapel Friends Church, Van Wert County.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Jim Robbins officiating. Burial will be at Mendon Cemetery.

Larry McQueen
Mercer County native Larry L. McQueen, 60, Xenia, died of natural causes on Dec. 12, 2001 at Greene Memorial Hospital near Xenia.
He was born Jan. 31, 1941, in Mercer County, to Kenneth and Marie (Speckman) McQueen. His mother survives in Vandalia.
Also surviving are a sister and her husband, Judy Hardwick and Gary Beam; a niece and three great-nieces.
He was the former owner of Quigs and The Lowes Street Deli. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 321.
Memorial services are 2 p.m. Jan. 5 at Tobias Funeral Home, Beavercreek, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Calling is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Bernice Williams
Bernice Cisco Williams, 93, 1102 Circle Drive, St. Marys, died at 5:25 a.m. today at Otterbein Retirement Community, St. Marys.
She was born Dec. 4, 1908, in Blackcreek Township, Mercer County, to Burchard L. and Mary Louise (Baker) Baumgardner. In 1940, she married Forrest Cisco, who died in 1964. In 1989, she married Wayne Williams, who died in 1999.
Surviving are a niece and her husband, Jean and Bill Brown of Florida.
Deceased are two brothers, Forrest and Joyce.
She retired in 1967 after teaching in Center Township and the St. Marys Schools for 38 years. She graduated from Celina High School in 1927 and received a bachelor of science degree in education from Ohio Northern University, Ada.
The recipient of a 1990 Ohio Senior Citizens Award, she worked to establish the Turner-Cisco Foundation in Mercer County. She helped with the formation and development of the Mercer County Council on Aging. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Celina, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Mercer County chapter of Ohio Retired Teachers.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Robert Metheny officiating. Burial will be at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

Robert Harruff
Robert R. Harruff, 76, of Spencerville, died at 12:02 p.m. Dec. 20, 2001 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born June 24, 1925, in Spencerville, to Albert and Jessie (Cooper) Harruff. On March 27, 1948, he married Ethel I. Longsworth and she died Sept. 14, 1998.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are five brothers, Charles, Cloyd, Dale, Merle and Vernon.
He retired after 15 years at the Allen County Sanitary Engineers and he had also worked at the Lima Ordnance Depot. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of Bowersock Brothers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772 and Harry J. Reynolds American Legion Post 191, both of Spencerville.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. Burial with military honors will be at Spencerville Cemetery.
