Jesse Marlow
Former St. Marys resident Jesse G. Marlow, 24, 122 Heaton St., Dayton, was found dead Dec. 18, 2002, at his residence. The death is being investigated as a homicide.
He was born July 9, 1978, in St. Marys, to Susan Ruwoldt and Jesse Marlow. The father survives in Tennessee.
Surviving are a brother, Anthony Hatfield, Celina; and the maternal grandparents, Earl and Erma Suchland, St. Marys.
A grandfather, Thomas Langenkamp Sr., is deceased.
He attended St. Marys Memorial High School and was employed at Taco Bell in Dayton.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. James Nuhfer officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

Dorothy Ott
Dorothy M. Ott, 78, 623 Johnson Ave., Celina, died Dec. 19, 2002, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 6, 1924, in Celina, to Cliffton W. and Mary C. Murray Nash. On June 20, 1946, she married Delbert Ott and he died Nov. 27, 1969.
Surviving are a daughter, Pamela (Gary) Hensley, Celina; a brother, William (Phyllis) Nash, Celina; a sister, Margot Davis, Upper Arlington; a sister-in-law, Janis Nash, Gahanna; and two grandchildren.
A brother, Clifford Nash, and a sister, Ruth Clogher, are deceased.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Robert Metheny officiating. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Joseph Tullis
Joseph Tullis, 80, of Rockford, died at 2:05 a.m. Dec. 19, 2002, at Colonial Nursing Home, Rockford.
He was born Jan. 24, 1922, in Lima, to Jessie James and Grace Victory Tullis. On March 14, 1946, he married Martha A. Waldron and she died Oct. 12 of this year.
Surviving are a son, John of Rockford; a daughter, Kathy (Michael) Shrider, also of Rockford; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A son, Joseph, and a brother, William, are deceased.
He retired as a heavy equipment operator at Ridge Quarry. He previously worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation and the former Neon Co. in Lima. He had been a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps in Utah before serving with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 5803 and American Legion Post 178 and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 886, all of Van Wert.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at Brickner Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Michael Berne officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, with military rites conducted by the VFW and American Legion.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Bernadette Laux
Bernadette M. Laux, 90, a resident of The Gardens in St. Henry, died there at 8:05 p.m. Dec. 18, 2002.
She was born Sept. 23, 1912, in St. Henry, to Joseph and Katherine Kemper Borger. On Sept. 3, 1938, she married Herbert Laux and he died July 11, 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Adele (Tom) Kunk, St. Henry, and Margaret C. of Celina; three sons, John of St. Henry, James (Anita) of Coldwater and Robert (Roberta) of Cold Spring, Ky.; a sister, Adella Mae Kaiser, Celina; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Kathryn Clune, and three brothers, Delbert, Alva and Paul.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Sodality, both of St. Henry.
Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Larry Wyen officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
Vivian Frank
Vivian Marie Frank, 64, 124 S. Green St., Mendon, died at 10:12 p.m. Dec. 16, 2002, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. Her death was due to natural causes.
She was born May 4, 1938, in Toledo, to Carl and Mariam Hitchner Emans. On May 24, 1957, she married Buddy D. Frank who survives in Mendon.
Also surviving are four sons, Carl (Cathy) of Mendon, Paul (LeeAnn) and Rob (Carla), both of Rockford, and Todd of Celina; a daughter, Melinda (Eric) Stetler, Rockford; and eight grandchildren.
A sister, Ruth Ann Rickard, is deceased.
A 1956 graduate of Mendon Union High School, she was a homemaker and a Stanley Products saleswoman.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, with the Rev. Karen Long officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery.

Robert Geise
Robert Louis Geise, 79, 604 E. North St., Coldwater, died at 2:35 a.m. Dec. 17, 2002, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
He was born Feb. 3, 1923, in St. Marys, to Henry and Elizabeth Geier Geise. On Nov. 24, 1945, he married Evelyn R. Schwieterman and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jerry (Linda) of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Larry (Pat) of Celina; a daughter, Mindy (Jim) McCormick, Alexandria, Va.; and nine grandchildren.
Other survivors include a brother, Charles (Ruth) of Coldwater; three sisters, Loretta Schulze, Sidney, Esther Smith and Viola Sitzman, both of Dayton; two brothers-in-law, Lester Kinninger, Sidney, and Wilbur Thobe, Maria Stein; and a sister-in-law, Butch Geise, Coldwater.
Deceased are three brothers, Arthur, Alfred and Elmer; two sisters, Martha Thobe and Mildred Kinninger; and two stepsisters, Josie Knapke and Mary Jane Knapke.
He retired from New Idea, Coldwater, in 1985 after 23 years of service. He formerly worked at Liberty Folder in Sidney and the Coldwater American Legion Post.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, American Legion Post 470 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3025, all of Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Tom Mannebach officiating. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater with the American Legion conducting military rites.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Richard Jones
Richard E. Jones, 91, a resident of Otterbein Retirement Community, St. Marys, died there at 11:40 a.m. Dec. 16, 2002.
He was born May 20, 1911, near Venedocia, to William and Margaret Jarvis Jones. In 1932, he married Evelyn Humerickhouse, who she died in 1977. His second wife, Thelma Krauss, also is deceased.
Surviving are two daughters, Jeanne (John) Froning, Washington, Mich., and Sheralyn (Ross) Campbell, Orion, Mich.; two brothers, Everett of Van Wert and David of Colorado; a sister, Francis Backensto, Laguna Hills, Calif.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Ellis and Elliott; a sister, Gladys Pugh; and a granddaughter, Laura Froning.
A graduate of Tri-State University, he retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, as an aeronautical engineer after many years of service. He was a member of Living Hope Assembly of God Church, St. Marys.
Services are 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, the Rev. John Nunnally officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

Victor Jung
Victor J. Jung, 91, 08506 County Road 66A, New Bremen, died at 2:48 p.m. Dec. 16, 2002, in the emergency room at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born June 21, 1911, in New Bremen, to Christ and Lenora May Jung. On June 26, 1935, he married Ida M. Warner who she survives in St. Marys.
Also surviving are three daughters, Joan (Bill) Cochran, St. Marys, Betty (Harvey) Long, Morristown, Tenn., and Jane (Shelby) Chumbley, New Tazwell, Tenn.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include two brothers, Leon (Virginia) of St. Marys and Ralph (Caroline) of Sidney; and four sisters, Frances Warner, Wapakoneta, Madella (Vernon) Heidt, New Knoxville, Annabelle Tontrup, New Bremen, and Gertrude (Ralph) Miller, Columbus Grove.
Deceased are an infant daughter, two brothers, Nelson and Lester; and a sister, LaRose.
He was a longtime farmer, a 1931 graduate of New Bremen High School and a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Bremen.
Services are 7 p.m. Thursday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. Stephen Wills officiating. Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.

Ida Bowen
Ida E. Bowen, 88, 101 W. Jackson St., Wren, died at 2:35 p.m. Dec. 16, 2002, at VanCrest Health Care Center, Van Wert.
She was born Dec. 11, 1914, in Van Wert County, to David and Emma Feigert Schaadt. On Jan. 4, 1936, she married Herman Gayle Bowen and he died Jan. 2, 1999.
Surviving are four sons, Robert (Lucy) of Van Wert, Richard (Jill) and Frank (Cheryl), all of Ohio City, and Stephen (Jane) of Rockford; a sister, Esther Beldon, Van Wert; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Two grandchildren are deceased.
She formerly worked as a nurse's aide at Van Wert County Hospital and head of housekeeping at the Holiday Inn of Van Wert. A 1933 Wren High School graduate, she was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church and Gleaner's Sunday School Class, both of Van Wert, and the Wren Historical Society.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Raymond E. Feeck officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
