Edith Neely
Former Celina resident Edith J. Neely, 77, 100 Barrington Drive, Dayton, died at 8:40 a.m. Feb. 4, 2001 at Friendship Village, Dayton.
She was born July 17, 1923, in Lima, to Maro and Cuba (Pumphrey) Johnson. On April 2, 1966, she married John Neely, who died April 9, 1994.
She was a retired unit producer for ABC television in New York and Los Angeles, and from an advertising firm in Jacksonville, Fla. She volunteered at the Nearly New Shop in Jacksonville.
Graveside services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at North Grove Cemetery, Celina, the Rev. Kathleen Hayes officiating.
There will be no visitation.

Jane Alspaugh
Jane Alspaugh, 82, of Rockford, died at 6:10 a.m. Feb. 14, 2001 at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert.
She was born Oct. 26, 1918, in Rockford, to Glenn Sr. and Sophia (Schiller) Borchers. She was married to Walter Winton Alspaugh, who is deceased.
Survivors are a son and his wife, Steve and Jan of Van Wert; a brother and his wife, Jim and Wanda Borchers, Decatur, Ind.; a brother, Glenn Borchers Jr., Fort Collins, Colo.; and two granddaughters.
Deceased are a brother, Larry Borchers, and two sisters, Martha Sheets and Emmy Roth.
She was retired as clerk and secretary of the school board of Parkway Local Schools. She was a member of Rockford Presbyterian Church and Presbyterian Women's Association, both in Rockford and Van Wert.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Karen Long officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Cecil Bruinsslot
Cecil M. Bruinsslot, 77, 301 Concord St., St. Marys, died at 6:18 p.m. Feb. 13, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born Sept. 17, 1923, in St. Marys, to Albert H. and Amanda S. (Eversman) Prueter. On Dec. 31, 1949, she married Warner Raymond Bruinsslot, who died March 25, 1984.
Survivors include a brother and his wife, Albert H. and Anne Prueter, Perrysburg; a sister-in-law, DeLourdes Prueter of Lima; and nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Shirley Prueter, and a brother, Lelon J. Prueter.
She was retired as a data processor for IGA Super Foods, and was a member of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, St. Marys.
Services are 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. David L. Woodyard officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

Rosemary Franck
Rosemary D. Franck, 79, 214 S. Elm St., Fort Recovery, died Feb. 13, 2001 at Portland, Ind., Community Care West Nursing Home.
She was born May 27, 1921, in Jay County, Ind., to Haskell and Edna (Osborn) Lanning. On April 7, 1956, she married Vernon Golder, who died July 17, 1980.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Mendel of Indianapolis, Ind., and nieces and nephews.
She had been employed at Wolford's Coal Yard and at Keep-You-Neat Dry Cleaners. She was a member of Fort Recovery Church of the Nazarene, and Women of the Moose Lodge, Fraternal Order of the Eagles and American Legion auxiliaries, all of Portland, Ind.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. John Perkins officiating. Burial is at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Friday at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, Portland, Ind., and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. A memorial service will be conducted by the Portland Ladies of the Moose at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Howard Taylor
Howard "Sam" Taylor, 73, 09333 New Bremen-New Knoxville Road, New Knoxville, died at 5:36 p.m. Feb. 13, 2001 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born May 26, 1927, in Parker's Lake, Ky., to Elmer and Zola (Lewis) Taylor. On Oct. 17, 1978, he married Jean Kinnard, who survives.
Other survivors are two daughters and their husbands, Joyce and Ed Koenig, St. Marys, and Delores and Mike Stephens, Tampa, Fla.; a stepson and his wife, Bill and Sarah Bordac, Los Angeles, Calif.; a stepson, Scott Bordac, Barberton; a stepdaughter and her husband, Chris and Steve Wilson, Rittman; a sister and her husband, Pearl and Emmitt Miller, Whitley City, Ky.; two brothers and their wives, Alva and Helen of Muncie, Ind., and Burton and Coreen of Dublin, Va.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Barney and Norman.
He was retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, and owner of Taylor'd Sound by Sam and Taylor'd Care Lawn and Landscaping Service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 323, St. Marys, and New Knoxville Historical Society. He was a graduate of Stearns High School in Kentucky.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Ron Spurgeon officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

Dorothy Brackney
Dorothy J. Brackney, 79, died at 2 a.m. Feb. 16, 2001 at her residence at 653 N. Sugar St., Celina.
She was born July 1, 1921, in Hamilton, to Donald and Rose (Cooper) Dowrey. On Dec. 18, 1943, she married Walter Brackney, who died Dec. 22, 1970.
Survivors are a son and his wife, Thomas and Joan Glass, Youngstown, Pa.; two daughters and their husbands, Joyce and Don Martin, Fort Recovery, and Tami and Daniel Clune, Celina; two brothers, Richard Dowrey, Portland, Ore., and Donald Dowrey, Tennessee; two sisters, Virginia Gauntt, Sherwood, Ore., and Betty Gilbert, Hamilton; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Connie Rines, a brother, Robert Dowrey, and a sister, Anna May Laffette.
She was a retired housekeeper and a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Celina.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Cremation will follow the service, and burial will be held at a later date at Buck Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Thomas Dicke
Thomas H. Dicke, 50, 2931 Lilly Drive, Elida, died of natural causes at 6 a.m. Feb. 15, 2001 at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born April 22, 1950, to John and LaRue (Meckstroth) Dicke, both whom survive near Celina.
Other survivors include two sisters and their husbands, Carol and Jerry Ferguson, Sandusky, and Donna and Norman Jacoby, New Bremen, and nieces and nephews.
He was an accountant at Goodwill in Lima and was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen. He received a bachelors degree in accounting from Bluffton College, a masters degree in accounting from Ashland College, and was a 1968 graduate of New Bremen High School.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. John W. Tostrick officiating. Burial is at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
