Gladys Davis
Former Celina resident Gladys Davis, 92, died at 3:15 p.m. Jan. 30, 2002 in Urbana where she had lived for the last 12 years.
She was born Dec. 17, 1909, in Maywood, Ill., to Albert and Alma (Haker) Nieman. On Nov. 10, 1932, she married Ervin S. Davis, who died Dec. 12, 1975.
Survivors are a son and his wife, Stan and Nancy, St. Marys; a daughter and her husband, Carol and Mike Detrick, Urbana; a daughter, Judy Davis, Celina; two sisters, Edythe Brooks, Santa Clara, Calif., and Eleanore Finkbeiner, LaGrange, Ill.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Jacquelyn Joyce Davis; four brothers, Ed, Irving, Herb and Willis Nieman; and three sisters, Dorothy Fike, Kay Ross and Arlene Brooks.
She was a homemaker.
Services are at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Norman Wright officiating. Burial is at State Line Cemetery in Washington Township in rural Mercer County.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mary Tackett
Mary L. Tackett, 68, 505 S. Mill St., Celina, died at 6:05 p.m. Jan. 28, 2002 at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus following a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 10, 1933, to Hardin and Mary Emma Tackett, both deceased.
Survivors are a brother and his wife, Howard and Barb Tackett, of Florida; a sister and her husband, Beatrice and Edward Howard, hometown unavailable, and five nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a son, Donnie Tackett, and a step brother, Ray Tackett.
Private services were held Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home in Celina. Glancy Funeral Homes, H. Brown & Son Chapel in Warren handled local arrangements.
Teresa Busse
Teresa E. Busse, 91, formerly of Fort Loramie, died at 5 p.m. Jan. 31, 2002 at Koester Pavilion, Troy, where she had resided the past year.
She was born Oct. 9, 1910, in Versailles, to Nicholas and Justina (Matthieu) Frantz. On Nov. 24, 1927, she married Bernard Busse and he died Feb. 25, 1976.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Ruth and Virgil Geise, Wimberly, Texas; a son, Jack, Troy; a sister, Marie Smith, Greenville; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She had worked at Monarch Machine during World War II and at the fomer Busse Meat Market in Fort Loramie. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, the Knights of St. John Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 355, all of Fort Loramie, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 1391, Minster. She was also a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Sidney.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Beatrice Nolan
Beatrice R. "Bea" Nolan, 85, 1301 Fairground Road, Celina, died at 9:45 a.m. Feb. 1, 2002 at The Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
She was born Aug. 15, 1916, in rural Mercer County to Richard Franklin and Rebecca (Daniels) Howell. On Sept. 29, 1934, she married Guy W. Nolan, who died Oct. 10, 1998.
Survivors are a daughter and her husband, Shirley and James Weinman, Lima; a daughter, Janis Stump, Celina; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are five sisters, Grace Steiner, Lillie Howell, Stella Yaney, Mabel Bollenbacher and Blanche Fetters; six brothers, Jeff, Raymond, Earl, Irvin, Russel and George Howell; a daughter, Sharon Kay Nolan; and a son-in-law, Marvin Stump.
She was a homemaker.
Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Katie Hayes officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery outside of Celina.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Raymond Eichenauer
Raymond F. Eichenauer, 88, Woodcrest Drive, Apt. 215, Decatur, Ind., died at 2:02 a.m. Feb. 2, 2002 at Adams County Memorial Hospital, Decatur.
He was born June 24, 1913, in Celina, to Franklin W. and Cora F. (Buhr) Eichenauer. On Feb. 29, 1936, he married Dorothy M. Spuller and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Roger A. of Fort Wayne, Ind., Dr. David F. and Max A., both of Decatur; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Floyd, and two sisters, Edith Fishbaugh and Ruth Karsh.
He was a retired farmer and a district circulation manager for the Fort Wayne Newspapers. He was a Sunday School teacher, youth counselor and trustee at the former Bethany Evangelical Church, past worshipful master of the Decatur Masonic Lodge, Free & Accepted Masons, and past patron of the Order of Eastern Star, Scottish Rite Valley Fort Wayne, and York Rite. He was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, Decatur.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Masonic services will be 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

E. Glenn Krugh
E. Glenn Krugh, 84, of DeGraff, died at 3:53 a.m. Feb. 2, 2002 at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine.
He was born April 17, 1917, in Van Wert County, to Earl and Ruth (Faulkner) Krugh. On April 18, 1942, he married Opal M. Mattox and she died Sept. 21, 2001.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Harry and Barb of Maplewood; a daughter and her husband, Gayle and Lee Kelleher, Springfield, and two daughters, Janis of Dayton and Marcia of DeGraff; a brother, E. Dale of Mendon; and three granddaughters.
He was a retired farmer and U.S. Army veteran, serving in the South Pacific during World War II and receiving the Bronze Star.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Van Horn Funeral Home, Jackson Center, the Rev. Ben Davis officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
