Charlotte Rumple
Mercer County native Charlotte Rumple, 81, of Bradenton, Fla., and formerly of Lambertville, Mich., died Feb. 7, 2002 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 24, 1920, in Mercer County to Floyd and Mary (Johnson) Hill. On April 5, 1942, she married LaDoyle Rumple and he died Oct. 19, 1992.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, Thomas and Diane of Stafford, Va., Wayne and Denise of Monroe, Mich., and Richard and Donna of Green Oaks, Ill.; two daughters and their husbands, Jayne and David Mankins, Lakeland, Fla., and Mary and Charles Winters, Bradenton; a sister, Gloriana Springer, also of Bradenton; and 11 grandchildren.
She worked as a receiving department secretary at Sears & Roebuck in Toledo before retiring in 1984 after 18 years of service. She was a member of the Lambertville United Methodist Church, the Bedford Senior Citizens and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 391, Samaria, Mich.
Services were 10 a.m. today at the church with burial at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Bedford Funeral Chapel in Temperance, Mich., had charge of arrangements.
Charles Dick
Charles A. "Cy" Dick, 85, 222 W. Market St., Celina, a longtime funeral director in Celina and Mendon, died at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 11, 2002 at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born June 17, 1916, in Mendon, to Walter H. and Nellie (Lutz) Dick. On Oct. 20, 1948, he married Betty Lou Sullivan and she died April 11, 2001.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Mary Jo and John Hellwarth, and a daughter, Carol, all of Celina; and two grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, W. Hubert, and two sisters, Helen Stallter and Dorothy L. Cowan.
A funeral director in Mendon and Celina since 1938, he had been associated with W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home. He was a 1934 graduate of the former Mendon-Union High School and a graduate of Cleveland Mortuary College. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Luzon and the Northern Solomon Islands during World War II, and was a Celina city councilor for 18 years.
He was a member of Celina Lions Club, Mercer County Elks Club 2170, Masonic Lodge 477 of Mendon and then Rockford, and the district, state and national chapters of the Funeral Directors Association. He held life memberships in Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713 and American Legion Post 210, both of Celina, and was a former board member of the Mercer County Chapter of the American Heart Association Board.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, the Revs. Richard R. Riedel and Glenn Masser officiating. Burial with military rites will be at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-6 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.
Services will be handled by Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, and Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert.
Brad Hartings
Brad S. Hartings, 16, 3150 Ohio 716A, St. Sebastian, died Feb. 11, 2002 at his residence. Death was due to natural causes.
He was born May 8, 1985, in Coldwater, to Gary and Carol (Huwer) Hartings. They survive at St. Sebastian.
Also surviving are a brother, Greg, at home; the maternal grandparents, Harold and Thelma Huwer, Cranberry Prairie; and the paternal grandparents, Ernest and Freda Hartings, Cassella.
He was a sophomore at Marion Local High School and a member of the school golf team. He also was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church and the St. Sebastian Catholic Youth Organization.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, the Rev. John Bensman officiating. Burial will be at St. Sebastian Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.

Dolores Link
Maria Stein native Dolores E. Link, 78, of Lima, died at 6:05 p.m. Feb. 9, 2002 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born Feb. 18, 1923, in Maria Stein, to Roman and Matilda (Brandewie) Kremer. On Dec. 29, 1945, she married Melvin C. Link and he survives.
Also surviving are two sons and their wives, James M. and Barbara of Lima and Robert L. and Carol of Webster Groves, Mo.; and four sisters, Irene Reichert, Celina, Martha Fisher, Bucyrus, Ruth Ann Schwieterman, New Bremen, and Ethel Pohlman, Cincinnati.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Shawnee Country Club and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, all of Lima.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. William Rose officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, Lima.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at Chiles & Sons-Laman Shawnee Chapel, Lima. A wake service is planned there at 4 p.m.

Virginia Sacher
Virginia Ruth Sacher, 84, of Celina, died at 3:10 p.m. Feb. 10, 2002 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born Jan. 22, 1918, in Dayton, to L.A. and Ada Irene (Ream) Cooper. On April 14, 1944, she married Robert J. Sacher and he died May 4, 1998.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mary Hemmelgarn, and a nephew, Bobbie Lee Hemmelgarn, both of Celina.
Deceased are three brothers, Robert, Meredith and Francis Grubb.
She had worked at Mersman Tables in Celina and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Celina.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Kathleen Hayes officiating. Burial will be at Mendon Cemetery.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Ruth Hagle
Former Fort Recovery resident Ruth E. Hagle, 90, of Galesburg, Ill., died at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 2, 2002 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. She had resided at the Hawthorne Inn of Galesburg.
She was born Feb. 19, 1911, in Harlan, Iowa, to the Rev. Alvin and Cassie (Hyde) Hock. On Feb. 3, 1934, she married Carl E. Hagle and he died June 10, 1989.
Surviving are a son and his wife, John and Polly of Fayetteville, N.C.; a daughter and her husband, Ann and Bill Rogers, Oneida, Ill.; a sister and her husband, Mary and Ken Ruppe, Green Valley, Ariz.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother and a sister.
She graduated from high school in Stillwater, Okla., and received a library science degree from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. The Hagle family moved to Ohio in 1946 and spent 25 years in Fort Recovery. She worked as a librarian and grade school teacher in Fort Recovery for 19 years.
She was associated with First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Senior Citizens, all of Oneida.
Memorial services were held at First Presbyterian Church in Oneida, the Rev. Carolyn Weber officiated. The body was cremated and the ashes will be interred at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Melbourne, Fla.
Contributions can be made to the Presbyterian or First United Methodist churches in Oneida.
