Vincente Gonzalez
Vincente G. Gonzalez, 71, 802 Avenue E. Southeast, Childress, Texas, died Feb. 23, 2002 at his residence.
He was born July 3, 1930, in Childress, to Victor Sr. and Juanita (Cantu) Gonzalez.
Survivors are his wife, Maria E., of Childress; a son, Gilberto of Childress; two daughters and their husbands, Edelmira and Luis Roberto Pando and Elma and John Vitela, all of Childress; a daughter, Irene Hernandez, of Childress; two brothers, Lee of Childress and Victor of Alamo, Texas; nine sisters, Dominga Gonzalez, Helen Rodriguez and Ignacia Rodriguez, all of Celina, Macidonia Guajardo, Elvira Garcia and Antonia Gonzalez Guerra, all of China, Nuevo Leon, N.M., Victoria Trevino, Peoria, Ill., Eudelia Gonzalez, San Antonio, Texas, and Trinidad Gonzalez, Edinburg, Texas; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was a retired farm laborer and a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Childress.
Funeral Mass was to be held at 11 a.m. today at the church, the Rev. Hector Madrigal officiating. Burial was to follow at Childress Cemetery.
Johnson Funeral Home of Childress had charge of arrangements.
Melvin Heitkamp
Melvin F. Heitkamp, 77, 1344 Ohio 219, Fort Recovery, died at 2:40 a.m. today at Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born Nov. 21, 1924, in Maria Stein to Bernard and Catherine (Gehle) Heitkamp. On April 26, 1947, he married Helen Roessner and she survives.
Also surviving are six sons and their wives, Joe and Esther, Tom and Kathy, Jack and Edna, Doug and Janet and Tony and Valerie, all of Fort Recovery, and Steve and Marie of Burkettsville; three daughters and their husbands, Sue and Carl Lange, Celina, Jane and Gene Westgerdes and Angie and Alan Koester, all of Fort Recovery; three sisters, Elizabeth Bruggeman, Coldwater, Rose Schoen, Fort Recovery, and Rita Post, St. Marys; a sister-in-law, Edna Heitkamp, St. Henry; 46 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are six brothers, three sisters and three grandchildren.
He was founder of Mel Heitkamp & Sons Builders, Fort Recovery. He attended St. Henry Consolidated Local Schools and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Pacific during World War II. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society of the church and the National Federation of Independent Business. He was a life member and past commander of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fort Recovery.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Ken Alt officiating. Burial with military honors will be at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-9 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. A prayer service is planned there at 8:45 p.m. Friday.
Loueta Overstreet
Loueta M. Overstreet, 84, formerly of 1321 Celina Road, St. Marys, died at 6:25 p.m. Feb. 25, 2002 at the St. Marys Living Center, following an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 12, 1917, in St. Marys, to William and Amanda (Smith) Allebaugh. On Jan. 8, 1943, she married McRoy Overstreet and he died July 14, 1996.
Survivors include several nephews and nieces, including Jeanne Moore, Goshen, and Marilyn Needham, Hamilton.
Deceased are three sisters, Mildred Mann, Minnie Shaffer and Katherine Menough, and a sister-in-law, Mary Overstreet.
She retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 323 and Veterans of Foreign Auxiliary of Post 9289, all of St. Marys.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Patricia Minnick officiating. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is after 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Janet Price
Fort Recovery native Janet Marie Price, 62, of Akron, died Feb. 24, 2002 at Hospice Care Center, Akron, following an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 29, 1939, in Fort Recovery, to Carl and Ann (Nieberding) King. On Aug. 20, 1960, she married James Price and he died Aug. 27, 1991.
Surviving are a son, Brian of Akron; a daughter and her husband, Susan and Tom Pallone, also of Akron; three brothers, Jim King, Celina, Ronald King, Decatur, Ala., and Dennis King, Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sisters, Carolyn Obringer, Fort Recovery, and Ruth King, Centerville; and two grandchildren.
She was a 1957 graduate of St. Henry High School.
A prayer service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Brockman & Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery.
Calling is after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Delores Replogle
St. Anthony native Delores Replogle, 66, of Hesperia, Mich., died Feb. 19, 2002 at her residence. Death was due to cancer.
She was born May 25, 1935, in St. Anthony, to Joseph and Apollonia (Stammen) Homan. On Sept. 1, 1956, she married Donald H. Replogle and he survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jeffrey of Hesperia and Charles of Trout Creek, Mich.; six daughters, Joan, Theresa Perry and Barbara Wright, all of Hesperia, Lisa Wever, White Cloud, and Janice Douvlis and Vicki, both of Chicago, Ill.; her twin brother and his wife, Donald and Marilyn Homan, Coldwater; two sisters and their husbands, Bernice and Walter Frey, Osgood, and Joan and James Pleiman, Maria Stein; and two sisters, Lillian Flatt, Dayton, and Mary Ann Young, Huntington, Ind.
Deceased are two brothers, Zeno and Hilbert Homan, and a sister, Jean.
She graduated from Coldwater High School in 1953 and the Springfield School of Practical Nursing in 1955. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church Hesperia.
Funeral Mass was held 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial was at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
Vincent Rutschilling
Vincent H. Rutschilling, 89, 5769 Burkettsville-St. Henry Road, Coldwater, died at 10:55 p.m. Feb. 25, 2002 at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
He was born Feb. 10, 1913, in Maria Stein to Detrich and Elizabeth (Meiring) Rutschilling. On April 30, 1947, he married Anna Rita Bruns and she died Oct. 23, 1974. On Dec. 2, 1977, he married Bonnie (Histand) Strait and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert of Coldwater; two daughters and their husbands, Phyllis and Robert Doll, Coldwater, and Linda and Ken Woeste, Celina; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Barbara and Steve Miller, Rossburg, and Linda and Jay Funk, Union City; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers and three sisters.
A retired farmer, he had worked at Pax Steel, Coldwater, and served in the U.S. Army, receiving a bronze star and purple heart for service in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3025, both of Coldwater, and Maria Stein American Legion Post 571.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial will be at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Kathleen Wehrkamp
Kathleen Wehrkamp, 56, 208 Dogwood Drive, Celina, died at 12:07 p.m. Feb. 24, 2002 at her residence. Death was due to natural causes.
She was born June 13, 1945, in Celina, to LaVaughn and Olive (Waterman) Toms. On Nov. 2, 1968, she married William Wehrkamp and he died June 13, 1999.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Jon and Pam of Coldwater; a daughter, Amanda of Celina; a sister, Nancy Toms, Celina; and a grandchild.
Deceased are a brother, Jon, and two half brothers, LaVaerne and Bill.
She worked at Huffy's for 24 years and later at Visions. She was a member of Celina American Legion Auxiliary Unit 210.
Memorial services are 3 p.m. Wednesday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina. Family members will give the eulogy.
Calling is noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday.
