Helen Crumrine
Helen L. Crumrine, 86, 2143 Lilac Wood, Columbus, formerly of Celina, died at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 26, 2002, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 7, 1915, in Columbus Grove, to Joseph and Naomi (Fritchie) Logan. On Feb. 9, 1942, she married Ray Crumrine and he died Feb. 12, 1994.
Surviving are three daughters and their husbands, Diana and Curt Martel, Cincinnati, Becky and Mark Green, Columbus, and Nancy and Nick Huston, Columbus, with whom she resided; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased are an infant son, Michael; a son-in-law, John Gallman; a brother, Richard Logan; and a sister, Margaret Bleezarde.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial will be at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Services for Helen Crumrine were held at 10:30 a.m. March 1, 2002, at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiated. Organist was Carol Zimmerman.
Pallbearers to North Grove Cemetery, Celina, were Nick Huston, Curt Martel, Mark Green, Josh Green, Luke Gallman and Brian Hess.
Virginia Fowler
Virginia Magdelena Fowler, 87, of Coldwater, formerly of Cincinnati, died at 5:08 p.m. Feb. 25, 2002, at her son's home in Coldwater.
She was born April 19, 1914, in Cincinnati, to Arthur and Minnie (Schmid) Wern. On Jan. 28, 1956, she married Paul C. Fowler and he died in 1992.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Robert and Monica of Coldwater; a sister and her husband, Margaret and Bill Heiss, Westwood; a grandson, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.
Deceased is a sister, Marie Schweikhart.
She attended cosmetology classes and formerly worked at Lodge & Shipley in Cincinnati. She was a four-year member of Coldwater United Methodist Church and a 40-year member of Monfort Heights United Methodist Church.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Nurre-Mihovk-Rosenacher Funeral Home in Cincinnati. Burial will be at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
Calling is after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Loretta Otte
Loretta R. Otte, 77, 195 Cassella-Montezuma Road, Maria Stein, died at 12:01 a.m. Feb. 26, 2002, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.
She was born Feb. 3, 1925, in Yorkshire, to Joseph and Katherine (Walterbusch) Mescher. On July 30, 1949, she married Leonard H. Otte and he survives.
Also surviving are three sons and their wives, Donald and Sandra of St. Henry, Thomas and Christine of Yorkshire, and August and Denise of Covington, and a son, Richard of Maria Stein; two daughters and their husbands, Kathleen and Timothy Landess, Centerville, and Charlene and Joseph Barlage, Maria Stein, and a daughter, Roberta of Rochester Hills, Mich.; four brothers and their wives, Richard and Carolyn Mescher, Rossburg, Linus and Margaret Mescher, Portland, Ind., Alfred and Jan Mescher, Troy, and Joseph and Mary Ann Mescher, St. Henry, and a brother, Wilbert Mescher, McCartyville; three sisters and their husbands, Norma and Ivo Brackman, Fort Recovery, Rita and Elmer Siefring, Burkettsville, and Alfrieda and Glen Anderson, Universal City, Texas; and 17 grandchildren.
Deceased are a son and two daughters in infancy, three brothers, Vincent, Norbert and Elmer Mescher; a sister, Theresa Mescher; and a sister-in-law, Carol Mescher.
She was a homemaker and a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Cassella, and the Ladies Sodality of the parish.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Fredrick Ryder officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
Kathleen Wehrkamp
Kathleen Wehrkamp, 56, 208 Dogwood Drive, Celina, died at 12:07 p.m. Feb. 24, 2002, at her residence. Death was due to natural causes.
She was born June 13, 1945, in Celina, to LaVaughn and Olive (Waterman) Toms. On Nov. 2, 1968, she married William Wehrkamp and he died June 13, 1999.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Jon and Pam of Coldwater; a daughter, Amanda of Celina; a sister, Nancy Toms, Celina; and a grandchild.
Deceased are a brother, Jon, and two half brothers, LaVerne and Bill.
She worked at Huffy's for 24 years and later at Visions. She was a member of Celina American Legion Auxiliary Unit 210.
Memorial services are 3 p.m. Wednesday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina. Family members will give the eulogy.
Calling is noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday.

John Clay
John J. Clay, 78, 205 Jon St., Mendon, died at 10:45 a.m. Feb. 27, 2003, at Colonial Nursing Center, Rockford.
He was born Sept. 29, 1924, in Mercer County, to John Simon and Beatrice Agler Clay. On Dec. 13, 1947, he married Mary Lou Williams who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Dennis (Janice) and Barry (Vicki) of Mendon; a brother, Paul (Faye) of St. Marys; a sister, Mildred (Blaine) Drake, Convoy; and six grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Truman, Wilmer and Robert, and a sister, Freda.
He retired from Siferd-Hossellman Company, St. Marys, and also worked at the former Jasperson Supply Company, St. Marys. A 1944 graduate of Mendon-Union High School, he was a former member and past president of the Mendon-Union school board, a past member of the Mendon Fire Department and Mendon Lions Club and a former Mendon Village Council member.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Sunday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Mendon, the Rev. Paul Bunnell officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Thomas Link
Former Celina resident Thomas "Tom" Link, 56, Phoenix, Ariz., died Feb. 25, 2003, in the emergency room at Mesa General Hospital, Mesa, Ariz. Death was due to a massive heart attack.
He was born Nov. 14, 1946, in St. Marys, to Leonard and Esther Homan Link. His mother survives in Celina. On April 19, 1969, he married former St. Sebastian resident Judy Homan who survives.
Also surviving are four brothers, Jerry (June) and Dave (Ann) of Celina, Len of Anaheim, Calif., and John (Patrice) of Tipp City.
He had been self-employed in Custom Link, a custom cabinetry business in Phoenix. Following retirement four years ago, he and his wife traveled throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico in their motorhome.
He was a 1965 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, Celina and a member of the 1964 I.C. State Championship Basketball Team.
A memorial Mass is 10 a.m. March 8 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating.
In keeping with his wishes, he became an organ donor.
Contributions can be made to any hospice.
Bertha Dippold
Bertha M. Dippold, 89, 1938 Cassella-Montezuma Road, Maria Stein, died at 11:15 p.m. Feb. 25, 2003, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born July 21, 1913, in St. Henry, to Leo and Theresia Kothman Hemmelgarn. On June 15, 1938, she married Albert Dippold who died Sept. 20, 1987.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth (Victoria) of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two brothers, Andy Hemmelgarn, St. Henry, and Leroy (Mildred) Hemmelgarn, Celina; three sisters, Clara Grube and Teresa (Albert) Steinbrunner, Fort Recovery, and Wilma (Cy) Everman, Maria Stein; and two grandchildren.
One sister, Leona Hartings, is deceased.
A homemaker, she formerly owned and operated the Cassella Store. She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and the Mothers' Sodality, Cassella, and the Daughters of Isabella, St. Henry.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. John Zvijak officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
