Delores Winget
Delores I. Winget, 80, 670 N. Sugar St., Celina, died at 12:12 a.m. Feb. 9, 2003, at her residence.
She was born April 7, 1922, in Rockford, to George Edwin and Edna Koeppel Bollenbacher. On Sept. 28, 1940, she married William E. Winget who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Keith (Beverly) of South Whitley, Ind., and Lowell E. of Celina; six daughters, Patricia (Bud) Noel and Connie S. (Toney J.) Kidwell, Celina, Peggy (John) Richardson, Durango, Colo., Jean (Keith) Eblen, Rockford, Toni (John) Mestemaker, North Star, and Maryl Sellner, St. Marys; two brothers, Marlin (Betty) Bollenbacher, Celina, and Ford (Gretchen) Bollenbacher, Rockford; a sister, Betty (Roland) Drey, Prescott, Ariz.; 35 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Welcome Edwin; two brothers, Walter and Darlene Bollenbacher; and three great-granddaughters.
A homemaker, she attended Grace Missionary Church, Celina.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Steve Howell officiating. Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Joe Wright
Joe M. Wright, 87, of Spencerville, died at 1:27 a.m. Feb. 8, 2003, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville.
He was born May 30, 1915, in Van Wert County, to George B. and Stella McClure Wright. On April 17, 1941, he married Mabel Stelzer who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Joan (Kenneth) Starr, Lima; a sister-in-law, Myrtle Strahm, Orlando, Fla.; three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.
One sister, Georgia B. Butts, is deceased.
A 1934 graduate of Spencerville High School, he later attended Veteran's Vocational Agriculture School. He served in the Ohio National Guard in 1938 and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1940, serving in the Asiatic and Pacific Theatre until 1945 and then in the Army Reserves until 1948.
A retired farmer, he was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Spencerville, where he organized The Methodist Men, served as chairman of various organizations, a lay leader, chairman of the Official Board, a member of the building committee and teacher for the Together Sunday School Class. He served as president of the Spencerville Service Association, as a former Spencer Township trustee and a member of Spencerville Grange 2424, the Allen County Farm Bureau and the Black Cat Club, Spencerville.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Rev. Michael Swanton officiating. Burial will follow at Spencerville Cemetery with military rites by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Post 191.
Calling is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Louis Zizelman
Louis W. Zizelman, 65, 321 W. Walnut St., Coldwater, died at 5:15 a.m. Feb. 9, 2003, at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Rockford. Death was due to cardio obstructive pulmonary disease.
He was born Aug. 9, 1937, in Rockford, to Willard and Virginia Graham Zizelman. On Dec. 17, 1984, he married Sharon Chivington who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Kevin and Greg (Penny) of Mendon; two daughters, Deb and Leigh Ann (Jim) Shaffer, Mendon; four brothers, Roger (Carolyn), Rex (Zelda) and Gail (Carolyn) of Celina, and Marvin of Elida; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A son, Ricky Dean, and a brother, Don, were deceased.
He formerly worked at New Idea, Coldwater. He attended Grace Missionary Church, Celina, and was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3025, Coldwater.
Graveside services are 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina, the Rev. Steve Howell officiating.
Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater, has charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.
Contributions can be made to the Pulmonary Rehab Department at Kettering Medical Center, Community Hospital or Briarwood Manor, Coldwater, Coldwater Emergency Medical Services Squad 7, Mercer County Hospice or the church mission fund.
Madonna Checkeye
Former Celina resident Madonna Worthman Checkeye, 77, of Greenwood, Ind., died Feb. 6, 2003, at Community Hospital South, Indianapolis, Ind.
She was born April 16, 1925, in Celina, to Clarence and Mildred Nolan Worthman. In 1946, she married Kenneth Checkeye, who is deceased.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth J. of Coopersburg, Pa., and Gary L. of Greenwood, Ind.; two sisters, Alta Jean (Clarence) Kuhn and Martha (Harold) Dammeyer, both of Celina; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A brother, Lloyd Worthman, is deceased.
She formerly worked as a secretary in the Mercer County Clerk of Courts office, a sales clerk at L.S. Ayers, in the political science department at Ball State University and at Tomlin Realty. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Muncie, Ind., and a member of the National Honor Society during high school.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Celina First Church of God, the Rev. Bruce Strine officiating. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. today at Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service, Greenwood, Ind., and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the Celina church.

Queen Koons
Queen Isabelle Koons, 99, formerly of 09697 County Road 66A, New Bremen, died at 6:15 a.m. Feb. 7, 2003, at Fairhaven Shelby County Home, Sidney.
She was born Nov. 28, 1903, in Auglaize County, to William and Hanna (Cowhick) Knous. On April 12, 1926, she married George Andrew Koons who died May 22, 1991.
Surviving are two sons, Virgil (Betty) and Roy Robert (Betty) of Sidney; a daughter, Bonnie Jane (Sam) Ashford, Sidney; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, Fred, Chester, Clifford and John Knous, and two sisters, Essie Axe and Sylvia Kuhns.
She retired as a cook at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. She was a homemaker and a member of Gospel Mission Church, St. Marys.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Frank Casey officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Julia Jaynes
Julia Renda Jaynes, 75, 623 W. Spring St., St. Marys, died at 3:45 a.m. Feb. 7 at her residence.
She was born Dec. 17, 1927, in Celina, to Thomas Edward and Delta Belle Price Swartz. On May 12, 1951, she married Noble Jaynes, who died in 1997.
Survivors are two sons, Arthur (Diane) Vannette of Spencerville and Michael Joe of St. Marys; five daughters, Diane Ruth Zachman of Seattle, Wash., Karen (William) Rockwell of St. Johns, Janice Jo and Pamela (George) Erais of St. Marys, and Faith of Spencerville; a half-brother, Joseph (Pearl) Swartz of London, England; a sister in law, Bernice of Seymour, Ind.; a daughter in law, Sherry of St. Johns; an aunt, Marjorie of St. Marys; 22 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sons, Noble Jr. and Thomas Edward, a daughter, Darlene Kay Castien, a daughter in law, Normae Mae Vannette; an aunt, Ruth E. Booher, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.
She was an outreach worker for the Community Action Commission for 10 years.
W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home in Celina is in charge of arrangements. There will be no services.

Burl Zeisloft
D. Burl Zeisloft, 80, 3601 Ohio 703, Celina, died at 6:15 a.m. Feb. 7, at his son's home in Celina.
He was born June 12, 1922, in Belmore, to Harry J. and Betha M. Casteel Zeisloft. In 1969 he married Alice Mae Thompson, who died Sept. 21, 1998.
Survivors are three sons, James (Sue) and Mike (Kim) Newland of Celina, Timothy (Tammy) of Palm Harbor, Fla.; two daughters, Charlene and Darlene (Ray) Rigali of Lima; a step son, Kenneth (Ann) Fowble of Auburn, Ind.; a step daughter, Carolyn (Zane) Bowlin of Modoc, Ind.; a sister, Pauline Allen of Leipsic, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was the owner of the Celina Dairy Queen for 40 years and was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713, a member of Celina American Legion, and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Celina.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lehman Funeral Home in Celina, the Rev. Robert Metheny officiating. Burial will follow at North Grove Cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
