Betty Horton
Betty J. Horton, 84, 519 E. High St., St. Marys, died at 5:20 p.m. Feb. 3, 2003, at Valley Nursing Home, St. Marys.
She was born Feb. 23, 1918, in St. Marys, to Clarence and Lorraine Cook Koehn. Her first husband, Harold Temple, is deceased. In 1963, she married Joseph Horton who died in 1979.
Surviving are a son, David Temple, San Jose, Calif., and a daughter, Lorraine (Robert) Goodwin, St. Marys.
A brother, John Michael Temple, and a sister, Christine Smith, are deceased.
She was a homemaker, a 1936 graduate of Memorial High School and a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church, St. Marys.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. David Woodyard officiating. Private burial services will be held near St. Johns.
Calling is after noon Thursday at the funeral home.
Ida Jung
Ida M. Jung, 91, 08506 County Road 66A, New Bremen, died at 1:40 p.m. Feb. 4, 2003, at St. Marys Living Center.
She was born Feb. 17, 1911, near New Bremen, to William and Anna (Hoelscher) Warner. On June 26, 1935, she married Victor J. Jung who died Dec. 16, 2002.
Surviving are three daughters, Joan (Bill) Cochran, St. Marys, Betty (Harvey) Long, Morristown, Tenn., and Jane (Shelby) Chumbley, New Tazwell, Tenn.; a brother-in-law, Leon (Virginia) Jung, St. Marys; four sisters-in-law, Frances Warner, Wapakoneta, Madella (Vernon) Heidt, New Knoxville, Annebelle Tontrup, New Bremen, and Gertrude (Ralph) Miller, Columbus Grove; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are an infant daughter, a brother, Benjamin Warner, and a sister, Olga Neuman, are deceased.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Bremen.
Services are 7 p.m. Friday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, the Rev. Stephen Wills officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling is after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Leo McEvoy
Former St. Marys resident Leo H. McEvoy, 73, of St. Petersburg, Fla., died at 12:15 p.m. Feb. 4, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center, Springfield.
He was born Sept. 3, 1929, in Glynnwood, to John Gerard and Hattie Bell Duval McEvoy.
Surviving are two sons, David of Lakeview and Thomas of Springfield; four daughters, Ruth Anne (Terry) Nelson, Zanesfield, Katherine (Greg) Amerine, Springfield, Betty Jo (Gene) Anderson, Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Patricia of St. Petersburg; three brothers, Bernard (Helen) of Cincinnati, Robert (Sally) of Wilmington, Del., and Norbert of Sidney; a sister, Betty (Robert) Brown, Wapakoneta; a sister-in-law, Jeannette McEvoy, Glynnwood; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A brother, John, and a sister, Catherine, are deceased.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, he retired in 1993 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, where he had worked for 43 years. He was a life member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289, St. Marys, and a member of American Legion Post 323 and Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys and the AMVETS, Lakeview.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. David Heinl officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys.

Margie Heil
Margie J. Baxter Heil, 57, of Spencerville, died at 8:20 a.m. Feb. 3, 2003, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville. Death was due to cancer.
She was born June 4, 1945, in Lima, to Richard G. and Dorothy E. Gold Kill. On Jan. 27, 1979, she married Vernon E. Baxter who died Feb. 9, 1996. On Oct. 26, 1996, she married R. James Heil who survives.
Other survivors are a son, Steven R. Pivonka, Tucson, Ariz.; a stepson, Merl James Heil, Van Wert; two brothers, William E. (Mary) Kill, Venedocia, and Raymond C. (Carol) Kill, St. Marys; two sisters, Juanita L. (James) Stauffer, New Lebanon, and Ronda Bennette, Tuscon, Ariz.; and a grandchild.
Deceased is a grandson.
She was co-owner of RJ Discount Mart in Spencerville and a 1963 graduate of Buckland High School. She was a member of Ross Church of the Brethren, near Mendon, and its Women's Fellowship and attended Spencerville First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Spencerville Invincible Fire Company Auxiliary and the Spencerville Retail Merchants Association.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Revs. Thomas M. McDonald and Oran L. Thomas officiating. Burial is at Spencerville Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Myrtle Louth
Myrtle R. Louth, 82, of rural Spencerville, died at 3 a.m. today, Feb. 4, 2003, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville.
She was born Feb. 21, 1920, in Delphos, to Edward and Mary Cleman Rahrig. On Nov. 30, 1940, she married Maurice A. Louth who died Sept. 20, 1984.
Survivors are four sons, Bernard (Pam), Dennis (Kay), and Rex (Deb), all of Spencerville, and Larry of Celina; a daughter, Marilyn Ladd, Spencerville; a brother, Bernard (Juanita) Falke, Delphos; a sister, Elda Calvelage, Delphos; a brother-in-law, Arnold Liebrecht, Delphos; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Forest Rahrig; a sister, Agnes Liebrecht; and an infant daughter, Beverly.
She was retired from Ohio Decorative Products, Spencerville, after 20 years of service. A 1938 graduate of St. John's High School, Delphos, she was a member of Olive Chapel United Methodist Church, Converse, and attended Kingsley United Methodist Church, Van Wert County. She was a member of Bowersock Bros. Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary post #6772, Spencerville, and the Converse Garden Club.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Rev. Charles Glover officiating. Burial is at Wright Cemetery near Converse.

Barbara Voigt
Barbara E. Voigt, 57, 1100 Meyers Road, Apt. 7, Celina, died at 1:52 p.m. Feb. 2, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. A cause of death was unavailable at press time.
She was born Jan. 24, 1946, in Union City, Ind., to Lawrence and Lola Thomas Holden, who are deceased.
Surviving are two sons, Gary (Sherrie) of Celina, and Rex (Christina) of Coldwater; two sisters, Shirley (Stanley) McCord, Saratoga, Ind., and Joan McCord, Farmland, Ind.; a brother, Terry (Wanda) Holden, Union City; and four grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Bill; and two sisters, Jane Holden and Carolyn Sue McClish.
A 1965 graduate of Union City High School, she was a former Winchester, Ind., resident and had worked as a home healthcare aid in the Celina area.
Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Walker Funeral Home, Winchester, the Rev. Rex Collins officiating. Burial is at Bear Creek Cemetery, Winchester.

James Dysert Jr.
James V. Dysert Jr., 55, 119 Parkway Court, St. Marys, was found dead at his home Jan. 31, 2003. No foul play is suspected, according to the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office. A cause of death was not available at press time.
He was born Aug. 28, 1947, in Celina, to James V. Sr. and Rebecca Rupert Dysert. His mother survives in Celina.
Other survivors are three brothers, John (Cathy), Roger (Vicky) and Bill (Malina), all of St. Marys; and a sister, Gloria of St. Marys.
He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, and was a U.S. Army veteran and a Presbyterian.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Keith Kivlin officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
