Luella Mestemaker
Former Coldwater resident Luella R. Mestemaker, 85, 11307 Bobwhite Lane, St. Marys, died at 2:55 a.m. Jan. 15, 2001 at Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community.
She was born June 8, 1915, in St. Henry, to William and Amelia (Moeller) Romer. On June 18, 1938, she married Thomas Mestemaker, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter and her husband, Mary Jo and Dwight Schmiesing, Minster, and two grandchildren.
Deceased are five brothers, Adolph, Leo, Pete, Ralph and Clarence, and three sisters, Estella, Bernie and Evelyn.
She was a homemaker and member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and its St. Anns Rosary Altar Sodality and St. Cecilia Knights of St. John.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial is at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Louis Myers
Louis C. Myers, 72, of Butler, Ky., died Jan. 9, 2001.
Survivors include a brother, Lowell of Dayton; and two sisters, Verna Payne, Butler, Ky., and Shirley Baker, Celina.
He was retired from Butler Products Co.
Funeral Mass was held at St. Matthews Church in Kenton County, Ky., and burial followed at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Ky.
Peoples Funeral Home, Butler, Ky., handled arrangements.
La Fern Cismowski
La Fern M. "Susie" Cismowski, 77, died Jan. 14, 2001 at Woodside Hospice House in Pinellas Park, Fla.
She was born May 3, 1923, in Chattanooga, to Jacob and Margaret (Huffman) Bollenbacher.
Survivors are two sons, Dennis M. of Enterprise, Ala., and Kevin L. of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a sister, Berneice A. Bollenbacher, Fort Wayne, Ind.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was a graduate of Willshire High School and retired as a waitress for Azar's Captain Alexander's Wharf and The Moonraker restaurants, both Fort Wayne, Ind. She was a member of the American Legion Post 296 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 1421 auxiliaries.
A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Jan. 25 at Risen Savior Lutheran Church, 8010 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne, Ind. Calling is one hour prior to services Jan. 25 at the church.
Contributions can be made to the church's building fund.

John Finke
John C. Finke, 75, died at 3:10 a.m. Jan. 15, 2001 at his residence at 1027 Williams St., St. Marys.
He was born Jan. 18, 1925, in St. Marys, to Noah and Caroline (Kellermeyer) Finke. On Dec. 6, 1943, he married Bettie Ice, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter and her husband, Susan and Terry Monroe, St. Marys; a son and his wife, Allan and Linda of Chattanooga, Tenn.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Clifford, and two sisters, Anabelle and Janet.
He was retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post 323, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289, both St. Marys. He served as past commander for both posts and served as a St. Marys City councilman.
Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, St. Marys, the Rev. Patricia G. Minnick officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. today at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.

Brandi Kittle
Brandi N. Kittle, 22, 7507 Ohio 118, Celina, died at 11:50 p.m. Jan. 13, 2001 at Community Hospital, Coldwater. The cause of death is pending from Mercer County Coroner Timothy Heinrichs.
She was born May 4, 1978, in Lima, to James E. Kittle and Karen Bell. Her father and his wife, Janet, survive in Celina, and her mother survives in Fort Recovery.
Other survivors include three brothers, Scott Bell, Jeffrey and Cory Kittle, all of Celina; a half-brother, James Kittle Jr., Fort Myers, Fla.; a half-sister, Christina Marie Christlieb, Montgomery, Texas; a stepbrother, Sean O'Connor, St. Henry; three stepsisters, Tamra Moorman, Celina, Kimberly Klausing, Ohio City, and Dawn Ream, Lima; and grandparents, Vera Kittle and Fred Bell, both of Celina.
She was employed at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster, and was a member of Celina Church of the Nazarene.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Jack Womacks officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Leah Schwartz
Former Newport resident Leah Schwartz, 85, died at 8 p.m. Jan. 15, 2001 at Covington Care Center, where she was a resident.
She was born March 21, 1915, in Russia, to Felix and Margaret (Voisard) Monnier. On Sept. 25, 1937, she married Ernest O. Schwartz, who died Sept. 22, 1986.
Survivors are two daughters and their husbands, Rita and William Bergman, Newport, and Margery and William Barlage, Dayton, and a daughter, Jeannie of Sidney; a brother and his wife, Lester and Sara Monnier, Russia; a sister and her husband, Emily and John Gephart, and a sister, Loretta Bergman, all of Newport; 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, Floyd, Cyril, Virgil and Delbert Monnier.
She was a former meat wrapper at Busse Meat Market, Fort Loramie and a homemaker, and was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and its Ladies Sodality and Auxiliary Knights of St. John, Newport, Catholic War Veterans and Newport Sportsman Club.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Betty Egts
Former Celina resident Betty E. Egts, 73, died at 7:27 a.m. Jan. 17, 2001 at Briarwood Manor Nursing Home in Coldwater.
She was born Jan. 24, 1927, in Celina, to Chris and Della (Davis) Weitz. In September 1947, she married Lester Buschor, who died Nov. 20, 1951. On Dec. 15, 1957, she married Paul Egts, who died Feb. 12, 1993.
Survivors are a son, Eddie Buschor, Marion, Ind.; a daughter and her husband, Connie and Phillip Boyer, Coldwater; a brother and his wife, Bob and Evelyn Weitz, Celina; a sister, Doris Jean Weitz, Celina; and two grandchildren.
She was a homemaker.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Kathleen Hayes officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
