Agnes I. (Webb) Keifer: age 85 of Payne, Ohio, formerly of Piqua; died Sunday, January 23, 2005 at 6:35 a.m. at Dallas Lamb Foundation in Payne, OH. She was born April 22, 1919 in Shelby County to the late Foster and Minnie (Baker) Webb. She married
Clyde W. Keifer July 26, 1945 in New Bremen; he preceded her in death March 14, 1994.
Mrs. Keifer is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law: George and Jan Keifer of Lexington, KY and David and Becky Keifer of Piqua ; one daughter and son-in-law: Eunice and Michael Yearling of Payne; one brother: Delmer Webb of Sidney; 1 sister: Elma Woleover of Houston, OH and 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. 2 brothers and 3 sisters preceded her in death.
Agnes graduated from Sidney High School in 1936. She was a member of Piqua Church of the Nazarene, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was a volunteer at the snack shop at Upper Valley Medical Center for 4 years.
She was a homemaker and a cook at Nicklin School for 5 years.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home with Pastor Lincoln Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill cemetery in Piqua. Visitation will be Tuesday 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Betty Lou (Smith) Carpenter
Betty Lou (Smith) Carpenter: age 77 of Troy; died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 11:33 p.m. at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. She was born October 6, 1927 in London, OH to the late LeRoy and Cora (Burlile) Smith. She married
Joseph Carpenter October 27, 1947; he preceded her in death January 14, 1998.
Mrs. Carpenter is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Steve and Sharon Carpenter of Sidney, Butch and Paula Carpenter of Lawrenceburg, KY and Lonnie Carpenter of London, OH; two daughters and sons-in-law: Sarah and Mike Madison of London, OH and Abrenda and Steve Bevard of Huber Heights; four sisters: Louise Reynolds of Midway, KY, Linda Shoemaker of London, OH, Martha Crist of London, OH and Judy Rawlings of Arkansas and two brothers: Jim Smith of London, OH and Roger Smith of Medina, OH. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two step granddaughters: Laura Bethel and Amber Asher both of Piqua and four step great grandchildren. One daughter: Carol Sue, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
Betty Lou was a Dietician at Doctors West Hospital in Columbus for eight years.
Funeral Services will be Monday, January 31, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home in Piqua with Rev. Walter Mock officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkwood cemetery in London, Ohio. Visitation will be Monday 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
ROBERT F. DEVER
ROBERT F. DEVER, age 80, of Piqua, died Friday January 28, 2005 at 5:20 P.M. at his residence. He was born August 13, 1924 in Piqua, Ohio to the late John and Bertha (Benedict) Dever. He married
Martha R. Staley Nov. 29, 1946 at St. Mary Church Rectory and she preceded him in death Feb. 14, 1995.
Surviving is 4 Daughters and Son-In-Laws: Rosalyn & Ted McDowell of Troy, O.; Jacqueline & Chester Mannier of Troy, O.; Pamela Smith and Jennifer Dever both of Piqua, Ohio. 1 Son and Daughter In-Law: Robert & Michele Dever of Tipp City, O. 1 Sister: Bertha Dever of Dayton, O.
13 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by 5 Sisters and 3 Brothers.
Mr. Dever was a member of St. Boniface Church and attended Piqua Central High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Africa and Italy.
He was a supervisor at the former Wood Shovel and Tool Co. in Piqua until it closed in 1970. Robert retired from Ivex Corp. in Troy, O. in 1990 as a supervisor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday February 2, 2005 at 11 A.M. at St. Boniface Church with Rev. Fr. Angelo Caserta as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Forest Hill cemetery with full military honors by The Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. at MELCHER-SOWERS FUNERAL HOME. A prayer service will be held at 5 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

DAVID R. EVANS
DAVID R. EVANS: age 53 of Piqua; died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 5:47 p.m. at South Lake Memorial Hospital in Clermont, FL. He was born November 24, 1951 in Chillicothe, OH to the late Clarence and Evelyn (Woodard) Evans. He married
Beatrice Warren on December 5, 1970; she survives.
Mr. Evans is also survived by 3 sons & daughter-in-law: Chance & Nikki Evans, Able Evans and Even Evans, all of Piqua; 5 brothers: Maynard Evans, of DeGraff, Ronald Evans, of Lakeview, Richard Evans, of Kings Chapel, NC, Larry Evans, of Sidney and Dale Evans of DeGraff; 1 sister: Beverly Christensen, of Quincy; and 2 grandchildren: Kaitlyn Brianne and Jason David Evans, both of Piqua. 2 Aunts: Joanna Smith and Betty Goodwin both of Dayton, O. 1 Uncle Jim Evans of Florida and several nieces & nephews and cousins.
David graduated from Edison State Community College in Piqua. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Vietnam. David was a Training Manager for Troy Hobart ITW Miller Electric Company in Appleton, Wisconsin for 27 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club with the company. Mr. Evans was a Boy Scout Troop leader for troop #17 for 5 years.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home in Piqua. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park in Covington with full military honors by The Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. Ora O. Felver
Ora O. Felver: age 83 of Piqua; died Monday, January 31, 2005 at 2:04 p.m. in his residence. He was born May 15, 1921 in Celina, OH to the late Willis and Ola (Walls) Felver. He married
Alberta “Bertie” I. (Keeler) Felver April 24, 1948 in Darke County; she survives.
Ora is also survived by one son: Michael Felver of GA; five grandchildren: Michael Felver, Corrie Felver, Kyron Felver, Kristian Felver and Karissa Felver; one brother and sister-in-law: Willis “LeRoy” and Polly Anna Felver of Piqua and his loving canine companion: Ginger.
Mr. Felver attended the Piqua Church of the Nazarene for over 56 years. He serves our country in the U.S. Army during WW II as a front line medic. Ora worked in the maintenance department as an electronics electrician at Hobart Corporation (PMI) in Troy for 40 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club with Hobart Corporation.
Funeral Services will be Friday, February 4, 2005 at 12:00 noon at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home with Pastor Lincoln Robinson and Rev. Chris Polly co-officiating. Burial will follow in Harris Creek cemetery in Bradford. Calling hours will be Thursday 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lynwood J. Wall
Lynwood J. Wall: age 76 of Piqua, went home to be with the Lord, after a brief illness, Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 4:55 p.m. in his residence. He was born October 17, 1928 in Smithfield, NC to the late Ernest B and Annie Belle (Rhodes) Wall.
He married
Martha (Butt) Wall August 9, 1971 (33 years) in Troy, Ohio. She survives and sadly misses him. He is also survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Shirley L. and Doug Branson of Piqua, Deborah J. and Wm. Maxwell of Greensburg, IN, Patti A. and Jim Huffman of Greenville, IL and Kimberly D. and Rick Hoffman of Lockington; five sons and daughters-in-law: James A. and Brenda Wall of Four Oaks, NC, Kip Clark of McMinnville, TN, Mark E. Wall of Piqua, Dennis J. Wall of Atlant, GA and Robert E. and Jean Wall of Sidney; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Janet and James Brown Jackie and James Jones and Susan and Ed Austin all of NC.
He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Stephanie Fuller, Jamie Branson, Keith Wall, Anna Wall, Mandi Huffman, Eric Huffman, Heather Wall, Ashley Wall, Michael Clark and Matthew O’Reilly and ten great-grandchildren: Brooke Allen, Brianna Fuller, Riley, Regan and Ramsey Branson, Kaylee and Alainna O’Reilly, Whitley and Ryan Clark and Terance Beasley and his best friend and special companion “Heidi-Girl” who loved him dearly. His first wife preceded him in death: Betty E. (Wysong) Magill December 6, 1992 and one brother: Douglas B. Wall of Smithfield, NC.
Mr. Wall attended school in NC and is a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of North American Fishing Club. He was an avid racecar builder, driver and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed flying planes and was a pilot at the age of 18. He loved to fish, camp and deer hunt.
Lynwood was employed by the Val Decker Packing Co. for almost 17 years and then went on to become owner and operator of L & M Millwright Co. until retirement. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict (1947-1950).
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home with Pastor Thomas Farrier and Pastor Mike Kirk co-officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, with full military honors provided by The Veterans Elite Tribute Squad. Visitation will Tuesday 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
