RICE, Mary E., Age 94 of Pleasant Hill, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012, at Upper Valley Medical Center. She was born July 31, 1917, in Miami County, Ohio, to her parents Harve & Minnie Wolfe. Mary graduated from Newton High School, worked as a homemaker throughout her life, and was a member of the First Brethren Church of Pleasant Hill. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Basil Emerson Rice; granddaughter Andrea Sturwold; son-in-law Bill Pfister. She will be missed and remembered by her daughter Judy Pfister of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren Brian & Barbara Pfister of Pleasant Hill, Jana & Robert Conley of Troy; great grandchildren Robert Conley, Marcus Conley, Amber Collins, April Huff, Michelle Pfister; great great grandchildren Alexis Collins, Hunter Collins, Mabel Francis, Ziva Francis, Andrew Huff, Ethan Conley, Madeline Conley, Lillian Conley; brother and sister-in-law Carl & Barbara Wolfe. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 23, at Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill cemetery. PETERS, Sara Ellen, Age 91, of Covington, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012, at the Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville. She was born September 15, 1920, in Piqua, to her parents Forest LeRoy & Mary Elizabeth (Gantt) Lavy. Sara attended Covington and Piqua High Schools. She married
Clifford V. Peters July 26, 1941 in Piqua and continued their lives working together on the family farm. She was a member of the Living Word Christian Fellowship of Troy and enjoyed playing games; especially cards and bingo. She was a great mother and grandmother and loved to spend time visiting with people and working in her garden. Sara was preceded in death by her loving husband Clifford V. Peters in 2005; brothers Everett Lavy, Ralph Lavy, Murray Lavy, and Daniel Lavy. She is survived by her children Carolyn & Richard Guittar of Pleasant Hill, Connie Grove of Martins Ferry, OH, Ted & Cyndy Peters of Covington; grandchildren Aaron & Kate Guittar of Pleasant Hill, Amy & John Faulkner of Great Falls, MT, Andrew & Deborah Guittar of Burien, WA, , Gretchen Clark of Durham, NC, Derrick & Stephanie Grove of Piqua, Meg Peters of Milford, OH, Alex & Tara Peters of Taylor Mill, KY; great grandchildren Austin & Kennedy Guittar, Elaini & Riley Grove, Elijah Clark, Ella Faulkner, Cooper Peters; brother Marland Lavy of Woodinville, WA. HILDEBRAN, Richard L., Age 82 of Troy, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born March 7, 1929, in Miami County, Ohio, to his parents Joseph & Mary (Deeter) Hildebran. Richard graduated from Newton High School class of 1947, and worked as a foreman and wage employee for BF Goodrich; retiring after 37 years of service. He enjoyed driving and training horses and had several successful trotters. He loved to play ball and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, as well as a Civil War buff. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Jane (Brandenburg) in 2001and his son Terry Hildebran. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law Nick Hildebran of West Milton, Michael & Susan Hildebran of Saranac, New York; grandchildren Katie Nolte, Brandy Hildebran, Bret Hildebran, Rodney Hildebran; great grandchildren Jason Hildebran, Casper Nolte, Patrick Nolte, Nichlas Fairchild; and special neighbors Alex & Becky. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 3, at Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 1 S. Main Street, Pleasant Hill. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill cemetery. SHADE, Dorothy, Age 86, of Piqua, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Heartland of Piqua. She was born April 13, 1925, in Miami County, Ohio, to her parents Earl & Sadie (Speelman) Anthony. Dorothy worked in retail all her life and most recently at Hallmark Card Shop at the Piqua Mall. She was a proud mother and grandmother and live her life for her family. She was a member of the Congressional Christian Church and the CCC Club (Country Comforters Club). She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years Robert Shade; daughter and son-in-law Kathy & Wayne Ingle of Piqua; sons and daughters-in-law Ronald & Karen Shade of Shelby Twp, MI, Timothy & Alice Shade of Hilliard; grandchildren Dennis & Cathy Ingle, Dale Andy & Tricia Ingle, Susannah & Jeff Harris, Robert Shade, Chris & Natalie Shade, Rebecca & Jade Freeman, Stacie & Mark Waschewski, Nikki & Scott Gohlke, Courtney & John Gray, Ted & Stephanie Shade, Rachael & Aric Zimmerman, Paul Shade, Matt Shade, Hannah Shade; 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Mildred Hill and her parents. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Monday, January 2, at Jackson-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 10 S. High Street, Covington. ROBERT E. POLING, age 84, of Piqua, Ohio, died Friday October 11, 2002 at 4:45 P.M. in his residence. He was born February 7, 1918 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Wilbur and Bertha (Kreukshank) Poling. He married
Alice Westmark February 6, 1946 in Dickinson, North Dakota and she survives.
Also surviving are 4 sons and Daughter-In-Laws- Lawrence and Marijo Poling of Piqua, Ohio; Ronald and Susan Poling of San Antonio, Texas; Alan and Lynn Poling of Bowdon, Georgia; Thomas and the late Barbra Poling of Piqua, Ohio. 1 Daughter and Son-In-Law- Mary and Mike Miller of Troy, Ohio. 1 Sister- Betty McFarland of Mt. Vernon, Ohio. 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. He was preceded in death by 1 Daugther-In-Law: Barbra Poling and 1 Brother and 1 Sister.
Mr. Poling was a life long member of the former Evangelical United Methodist (Brethren) Church in Piqua, and recently attended the Piqua Church of the Nazarene and the Piqua Church of the Brethren.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II serving in the European Theatre. Mr. Poling retired in 1975 from National Cash Register Co. in Dayton after 27 years of service. He was also employed at Big Lots in Piqua.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 15, 2002 at 10 A.M. at MELCHER-SOWERS FUNERAL HOME, Piqua, Ohio with Pastor Daniel House and Rev. Robert Coy officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio with full military honors by VFW Post #4874. Calling hours will be Monday 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

JOHN M. MATUSZ, age 58, of Houston, Ohio, died Friday October 11, 2002 at 1:30 P.M. in his residence. He was born February 6, 1944 in Baltimore, Md. To Mary (Dull) Matusz of Aberdeen, Md. And the late Theodore Matusz. He married
Jan Large June 13, 1992 in Tipp City, Ohio and she survives. Also surviving is 1 Son and Daughter-In-Law: John, Jr. and Laura Matusz of Ft. Knox, Ky.; 1 Daughter: Dawn Matusz of Bellefontaine, Ohio; 2 Step sons: Patrick Craft and his fiancé Paula of Houston, Ohio; Gregory Craft and his fiancé Tiffany of Sidney, Ohio; 1 Step Daughter and Son In-Law: Michele and Jason Moore of Dayton, Ohio. 2 Sisters: Irene Matusz of Aberdeen, Md.; Doris Kick of Baltimore, Md. And 1 Niece LeAnne Kick of New Orleans, La. 3 Grandchildren: Christopher, Kayla, Elizabeth Matusz of Ft. Knox, Ky.
Mr. Matusz graduated from Parkville High School in Maryland in 1964. He was a member of the Lockington United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was employed at Hobart Corp. in Troy for 25 years.
Funeral services will be held Thursday October 17, 2002 at 11 A.M. at Lockington United Methodist Church with James Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Houston cemetery with full military honors by VFW Post #4874. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home and Thursday from 10:30 A.M.-11 A.M. at the church.

Ronald L. Schulz, Sr.: age 70 of Troy; died Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at 3:15 p.m. in his residence. He was born January 18, 1932 in Piqua, Ohio to the late Oscar and Emma C. (Hoblit) Schulz. He married
Darlene (Adkins) Schulz May 29, 1984 in Piqua, Ohio; she survives.
Ron is survived by two sons: Ronald L. Schulz of Lena, Ohio and Brandon C. Schulz of Piqua, Ohio; one daughter and son-in-law: Collin and Jarrod Marquez of Piqua, Ohio and one step-son: Richard Idle of Texas. He is also survived by one brother: Jack Schulz of Casstown, OH; two sisters: Kay Tamplin of Piqua and Ema Tamplin of Piqua, OH and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Schulz was a member of Troy Elks BPOE # 833, Piqua Loyal Order of the Moose #1067, Piqua American Legion Post # 184 and Piqua VFW # 4874.He served in the U.S. Army during Korea. Ron was the owner of the Mug and Jug in Piqua and Schulz Trucking.

SEIPEL, George J.: age 81 of Piqua, died Monday, October 7, 2002 at 5:00 pm at Heartland of Piqua. He was born October 31, 1920 in Piqua to the late George A. and Elizabeth S. (Clark) Seipel. He married
Lucille Beckert May 9, 1945 in Piqua; she preceded him in death December 18, 1996.
George is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Joseph G. and Rusty Seipel of Marietta, GA; one daughter and son-in-law: Ann and Jack Drerup of Dayton; two sisters: Alice Lehman of Piqua and Betty Seipel of Piqua and five grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Charles and Richard Seipel, preceded him in death.
Mr. Seipel graduated from Piqua Central High School in 1939 and is a member of St. Boniface Church. He is a member of Knights of St. John, sang in the church choir for 20 years and was a Cub Scout Master for five years at St. Boniface. He worked at Patterson Food Market for three years and owned Clark Ave. Market in Piqua for twenty years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 11, 2002 at 10:30 am at St. Boniface Church in Piqua. Burial will follow in Forest Hill cemetery in Piqua. Visitation will be Thursday 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 6:00 pm.

Sheila J. Hutton: age 39 of Piqua, died Tuesday, October 22, 2002 at 5:35 a.m. in her residence. She was born December 9, 1962 in Piqua to the late Wilber and Gladys (Coyer) Brown. Sheila married
Anthony (Scott) Hutton September 2, 1995; he survives.
Mrs. Hutton is survived by a son: Robert Shoffner, Jr. and her father-in-law: Raymond J. Hutton both of Piqua. She is also survived by four brothers: Wilber Brown, Jr., William D. Brown, Donald Brown and Michael Brown all of Piqua and three sisters: Marsha Moore, Tina Brown and Lorna Taylor all of Piqua. One nephew and one brother preceded her in death.
Sheila attended Piqua City Schools and Central Baptist Church. She loved camping, nature and collecting angels.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 24, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Farrier officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 until the time of services.

TIFFANY I. WRIGHT, age 8, of Piqua, Ohio, died Friday October 25, 2002 at 10:06 A.M. at Children’s Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio. She was born March 21, 1994 in Dayton, Ohio to Thelma (Harper) Wright of Piqua, Ohio and Bryan C. Wright of Pennsylvania and they survive.
Also surviving is 1 Brother: Phillip Carns of Piqua, Ohio. 1 Half Sister and 4 Half Brothers. A Maternal Grandmother: Linda Harper of Piqua, Ohio and Paternal Grandparents: Sherman and Norma Wright of St. Paris, Ohio. Numerous Cousins and many Aunts and Uncles. Tiffany was preceded in death by her Grandfather: Earl Harper.
Tiffany was a third grader at Favorite Hill School in Piqua and loved school and especially reading.
Funeral services will be Tuesday October 29, 2002 at 1 P.M. at MELCHER-SOWERS FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Jim Fannin and Rev. Cecil Earls officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen cemetery, St. Paris, Ohio. Calling hours will be Monday 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
