Funeral services for Marilyn Anne Rank, 51, of Houston Texas, formerly of Lima, who died 9 p.m. July 31 at Methodist Hospital in Houston, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeride Funeral Home, the Rev. Gust A. Wuorinen officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
Rank was born Feb. 16, 1951 to Floyd and Ruhama (Colton) Smith.
Survivors include three daughters, Sandie (Don) Rose of Clermont, Fla.; Kathy Ulrey of Waynesfield; and Renee Ulrey of Lima; a brother, Terry P. Smith of Indian Lake; a sister, Teresa (Rob) Welsgerber of Loveland; a companion, Dean Jones of Houston, and three grandchildren.
Rank was a homemaker and a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, where she served on the Altar Guild and as treasurer. She was a former member of OES Chapter #16, a member of the Moather Advisor for Rainbow Girls and she helped out with DeMolay.

Funeral Services for J. Vane Shepherd, 86, of Lima, who died 1:30 p.m. July 28 at Harper Hospital, Detroit, Mich., will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, the Rev. Ron Fruth officiating. Burial will follow in Bluelick Cemetary, Lima.
Shepherd was born July 12, 1916 in Fort Jennings, to Samuel E. and Myrtle (Maxwell) Shepherd.
He married Helen L. McNett on Sept. 18, 1939, who preceded him in death Dec. 11, 1998.
Survivors include one son, Stephen V. (Shirley) Shepherd of Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren, Stephen Andrew Shepherd of Denver, Colo., and Bryan Patrick Shepherd of Boca Raton, Fla.; and two sisters, Ruby Kinninger of Wapakoneta and Myra Culvin of Chelsea, Mich.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Enos Shepherd, and two sisters, Lucille Eddy and Irma Anderson.
Mr. Shepherd worked for 43 years at Superior Coach in production, sales and as technical service manager. He retired in 1980. He served for 21 years on city council and was a member of the Lima Elks, Lima Eagles, Lima Lodge 205, F & AM Ohio and the Lima Shrine Club. He graduated from South High School in 1933. He was an avid motorcycle rider.
Friends may call 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeride Funeral Home. A Masonic Lodge Service will follow visitation at the funeral home.

Patricia J. Vulgamott

Funeral services for Patricia J. "Pat" Vulgamott, 64, of Spencerville, who died 7:22 p.m. July 31 at St. Rita's Medical Center, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Revs. Mike Swanton and David Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencerville Cemetary.
Vulgamott was born Dec. 10, 1937 in Spencerville, to James W. "Jim" and Verla Miller Adams.
She married L.F. "Fred" Vulgamott on Sept. 17, 1955, who survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Deborah "Deb" (Randy) Becker and Tamara "Tammy" (Ken) McNett, of Spencerville; five grandchildren, Christina (Joey) Pruett of Weston; Jennifer R. Becker, Scott D. McNett, Stacey S. McNett and Amy J. Becker, all of Spencerville; three great-grandchildren; Tyler, Skye and Matt; and one brother-in-law; Vernie Richardson, of Spencerville.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Richardson.
Mrs. Vulgamott was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and a volunteer with the Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was the manager of the Lima Memorial Hospital Gift Shop. She was a graduate of Spencerville High School in 1955.

Funeral Services for Betty Jo (Foust) Blymyer, 70, of Delphos, who died July 30 at St. Rita's Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Harter and Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, the Pastor Ron Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetary, Delphos.
She was born Oct. 24, 1931 in Medaryville, Ind., to Frank and Helen (Stires) Foust.
She married Ronald Blymyer on Feb. 21, 1965, who survives in Delphos.
Suriviors include two daughters, Bonnie (Mike) Settlemire of Spencerville and Connie Thompson of Lima; one son, Randy Blymyer of Delphos; one step-sister, Frances (Preston) Long of Gaylord, Mich.; two brothers, Allen (Marilyn) Foust of Vaughnsville and Harold "Sonny" (Eilleen) Foust of Kalida; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Ann Robbin, and one daughter, Saundra Blymyer.
Mrs. Blymyer was a homemaker. She worked at City Loan for 25 years and at the Sarah Jane Nursing Home & Sonshine Day Care. She attended Community Church of the Nazarene and graduated from Gomer High School in 1951.

She was born Sept. 5, 1927 in Hardin County, to Louis Poe and Hazel (Ford) Patrick.
She married Richard Prine on April 23, 1949, who preceded her in death Oct. 27, 1975.
She married Rodney Ross on April 3, 1981, who preceded her in death March 7, 1992. .
Survivors include two sons, Stephen (Sherry) Prine of Ostrander, and Thomas (Jackie) Prine of Harrod; four grandchildren, Staci Prine of Sidney, Scott Prine of Delaware, Ric (Christina) Prine of Kenton, Jayna (Jason) Fry of Harrod; two great-grandchildren; Abbey and Lindsay Fry of Harrod; eight step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Jason Prine
Mrs. Ross worked for West Ohio Central Gas Co., was a store clerk for Adams Market in Alger for 25 years and was a secretary for the Highway Oil Co. She was a member of West Newton Methodist Church, a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service, a member of the Alger Royal Neighbors, and president of West Newton Garden Club for 25 years. She graduated from Alger High School and attended Northern University for two years.

Marcella Mary Kramer

Mass of Christian burial for Marcella Mary "Sally" Kramer, 85, of Bothell, Wash., formerly of Fort Jennings, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Brendan Catholic Church, 10100 NE 192nd, Bothell, Wash. Burial will be in Holyrood Cemetery, Shoreline, Wash., with military graveside services conducted by the U.S. Navy.
She was born Jan. 20, 1917 in Fort Jennings, to August and Josephine Wurst.
She married Ambrose Kramer, who preceded her in death June 4, 1989.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy (Elling) Anderson of Kirkland, Wash.; a son, Jim (Sandra) Kramer of Federal Way, Wash.; a brother, Julian Wurst of Dayton; two sisters, Celesta Shea of Dustin, Fla., and Jane Hunyor of Norwood; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice and Rosemary Wurst of Delphos; five grandchildren and three great-grandsons.
Mrs. Kramer served in the U.S. Navy at Terminal Island in California during World War II and later worked as a bookkeeper for Rosellini's Restaurants in Seattle and Woodcrest Estates Homeowners Association. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and all types of needlework.

Mildred E. Giesken

Mildred E. Allemeir Giesken, 85, of Delphos, died 2:58 p.m. July 27 at Washington County Memorial Hospital, Salem, Ind.
She was born Aug. 10, 1916, in Ohio to Melvin M. and Loa (Matson) Ladd.
Survivors include a son, Paul Allemeir of Salem; a sister, Delores Peters of Delphos; two brothers, Harold Ladd of Fort Wayne and Gerald Ladd of Delphos; and four grandsons and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Giesken retired as a beautician after 40 years. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Fort Jennings.
There is no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association.
Milo E. Matson

Funeral services for Milo E. Matson, 58, of Columbus Grove, who died 10 a.m. July 27 at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, the Rev. Steve Rosebrock officiating. Burial will be in Cairo Eastside Cemetery.
He was born March 25, 1944, in Lima to Arthur and Marguerite (Duck) Matson. His mother survives in Columbus Grove.
Other survivors include two brothers, William E. Matson of Columbus Grove and Don C. (Charlene) Matson of Holgate; and a sister, Karen (Noe) Hernandez of Columbus Grove.
Mr. Matson had attended Brookhill of Putnam County and in the past, had worked at Brookhill Workshop. He attended Dayspring Christian Church in Defiance. He enjoyed listening to music and watching reruns of older TV shows.

Robert Foust

Robert Foust, 71, of Lima, died 8:48 p.m. July 26 at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born July 11, 1931, in Mackinaw City, Mich., to Herman and Alta Gladys (Martin) Shields.
On Jan. 9, 1954, he married Mertis Hackworth, who survives in Lima.
Other survivors include two daughters, Lisa L. Foust of Lima and Pamela J. (Donnie) Gray of Columbus; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Foust attended Lima South High School and was a graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School. He received a degree from Franklin University, Columbus.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Siferd Westwood Chapel, Lima, the Rev. Doug Adams officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Funeral services for Margaret Deniston Jewell, 89, of Lima, who died 10:50 a.m. July 27 at Lima Convalescent Home, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, the Rev. Wanda Werking officiating. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 8, 1912, in Des Ark, Ark., to C.J. and Donna (Fletcher) Deniston.
On April 1, 1934, she married Robert K. Jewell, who died in 1987.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice (Dick) Hammell of Lima; two brothers, Ross (Lynn) Deniston of Concord, Calif., and Robert Deniston of Hicksville, N.Y.; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lowell Deniston.
Mrs. Jewell had been a music teacher and played the piano at the Majestic Theater at Main and Kibby streets in Lima. She was a member of Central Christian Church and its Church Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the Allen County Historical Society, P.E.R.S., past president and honorary member of the Lima Garden Club and docent emeritus of the Allen County Museum.

She was born Dec. 24, 1943, in Philadelphia to Joseph and Jennie (Agozzino) Favazza. Her father survives in Philadelphia. On Dec. 10, 1963, she married John Coe, who died May 19, 1999.
Other survivors include a son, John (Sheree) Coe III of Council Bluff, Iowa; two daughters, Jackie (Dale) Newport of Columbus Grove and Joanne (Jason) Miller of Lima; a brother, Salvatore (Judy) Favazza of Philadelphia; a sister, Angela (Jerry) Gottman of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Clark.
Mrs. Coe was a homemaker. She was a former member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, Lima. She enjoyed cooking.

Walter F. Huzzar

Walter F. "Wally" Huzzar, 81, of Van Wert, died 3:23 a.m. July 26 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Feb. 18, 1921, in New York City, N.Y., to Joseph and Anna (Wrengren) Huzzar.
On June 24, 1945, he married Betty Mae Kear, who survives in Lima.
Other survivors include a daughter, Joyce Joan Huzzar Thomas of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Huzzar; and two sisters, Helen Spiezio andFrances Martini.
Mr. Huzzar had worked at National Seal Division Federal Mogul Bower Bearings for 21 years, with Chrysler Amplex in Van Wert for 10 years and retired after two years with General Dynamics, Van Wert. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Van Wert, where he was active in the choir and folk group and was past president of the parish council. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran serving in the American Theatre during World War II, stationed in Panama, British West Indies, Dutch Guiana and Wright-Patterson Field in Dayton. He then enlisted in the Naval Air Reserve in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a life member of the Van Wert American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts. He loved music and shared in many Van Wert area music groups, was in the Van Wert Drum and Bugle Corps, Barber Shop Singers and the Lion's Club Minstrel Show.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, the Rev. Joseph M. Schmelzer officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, with military graveside services by the Van Wert American Legion and VFW posts.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, where a parish wake service will be 7:30 p.m.

Dortha V. Rager

Funeral services for Dortha V. Rager, 90, of Van Wert, who died 11:15 p.m. July 25 at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Tim Burden officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery, Grover Hill.
She was born May 16, 1912, in Van Wert County to John E. and Grace (Bailey) Berryman.
On Dec. 6,1938, she married Ervin L. Rager, who died June 18, 1990.
Survivors include a son, Dana R. Rager of Ohio City; a sister, Emma Bunn of Grover Hill; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Daniel, Wesley and Calvin Berryman; and two sisters, Edna Overly and Margaret Berryman.
Mrs. Rager had worked at the former Borden Cheese Factory in Van Wert and also at the Soil and Water Conservation office in Van Wert. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Van Wert, where she was Sunday school treasurer for many years. She was a former member of the Van Wert YWCA and the Ladies Board of Managers and had served on the Ladies Hospital Board.

David Wayne Gehres

Funeral services for David Wayne Gehres, 57, of rural Van Wert, who died July 25 at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, will be 1 p.m. Monday at St. Paul United Church of Christ, rural Van Wert, the Rev. Jerry Flueckiger officiating. A private family burial will be in Evangelical Protestant Cemetery in Van Wert County.
He was born Sept. 8, 1944, in Van Wert to Wayne and Phyllis Gehres, who survive in Van Wert.
On Nov. 19, 1978, he married Cheryl E. Miekle, who also survives in rural Van Wert.
Other survivors include a son, Peter D. Gehres of Van Wert; a daughter, Anna C. Gehres of Van Wert; three brothers, Charles (Chip) Gehres of Milton, N.H., Steve (Lois) Gehres of Van Wert and Dan Gehres of Dayton.
Mr. Gehres was vice president and general manager at Heye America in Marion, Ind. He was a 1962 graduate of Van Wert High School and a 1966 graduate of Manchester College. He did post graduate work at Pennsylvania State University and Capital College.
There is no visitation.

She was born Sept. 24, 1942, in Lima to Vince and Vera L. (Snider) Lamantia.
Survivors include a son, Matthew (Michelle) Talcott DDS; a daughter, Melinda Talcott of Denver; two brothers, Done Lamantia of Lima and David (Kathy) Lamantia of Canton; two sisters, Chris Blair Bower of Millersburg and Kay (David) Dodd of Birmingham, Ala.; and friends Margaret Carpenter of Lawrence, N.Y., and Adele Herman of Ossining, N.Y.
Mrs. Talcott had been public relations director at St. John Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, N.Y., for the past four years. She earned her bachelor's degree in Spanish-English education from the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati and earned her masters degree in guidance counseling from the University of Dayton. She worked as a classroom teacher, guidance counselor and assistant principal in the Dayton area. Prior to moving to New York City, she worked as an investigative reporter for the Oakland Press in Detroit. She enjoyed playing tennis, photography, sailing, traveling and attending the theater.

Oscar Edward Hofmann

Funeral services for Oscar Edward "Ed" Hofmann, 78, of Whiting, N.J., who died July 18 at his residence, were held recently in Whiting.
He was born Oct. 4, 1923, in Pleasant Township, Van Wert County, to George and Edna (Dietrich) Hofmann.
On April 14, 1945, he married Elizabeth Arehart, who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Nancy (David) Volz of Coral Springs, Fla., and Diane (Peter) Munoz-Dones of Wilmore, Ky.; four sisters, Louise (Wayne) Showalter of Ohio City, Elsie (Al) Seekings of Fort Wayne, Ind., Ella (Richard) Jackson and Delores (Steve) Whitcraft of Van Wert; and a granddaughter, Kathi Leigh Munoz-Hofmann.
A daughter, Kathie Hofmann is deceased.
Mr. Hofmann was vice president of First Federal Savings and Loan in Bristol, Pa., for 25 years retiring in 1988. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Whiting, where he served as treasurer. He was a World War II veteran, a member of the Whiting American Legion, Bucks County Kiwanis Club and Boy Scouts of America. He was a 1942 graduate of Van Wert High School.

On Sept. 2, 1940, he married Helen M. Moorman, who survives in Lima.
Other survivors include three sons, David L. (Linda) Allen of Misawa, Japan, and John E. (Kerri) Allen and Gregory L. (Barbara) Allen of Lima; two daughters, Kathy S. (John) Hunsaker of Wapakoneta and Beverly E. (Stephen) Scheid of Granger, Ind.; 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Terry D. Allen; three brothers, John L. Allen and Albert and Ward Bush; and 10 sisters, Fern Middaugh, Ermina Brown, Olive Mock, Juanita Gehring, Edna Reese, Maric Estes, Rebecca Height, Doris Daugherty, Alice Bush and Ruby Bush.
Mr. Allen was a trainman for Nickel Plate/Norfolk Western Railroad for 40 years retiring in 1977. He had also worked part time at the Leader Department Store and Siferd Funeral Home and was a former drummer for the American Legion Boys Marching Band. He was a member of Faith Missionary Church, where he served as a board member, deacon, elder and Sunday school teacher.

Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Defiance County.
He was born Sept. 4, 1917, in Delphos to Joseph and Petronella (Carder) Gremling.
He married Rita Birkmeier, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, James (Betty) Gremling of Oakwood and Roger (Mary Jo) Gremling of Warsaw, Ind.; two daughters, Virginia (Jerry) Leininger of Placentia, Calif., and Carolyn (Jerry) Feeney of Oakwood; three sisters, Ruth Downey of Celina, Pauline Keith of Columbus and Mary Alice Ervin of Delphos; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Gremling; and two sisters, Evelyn Huster and Colletta Wannemacher.
Mr. Gremling retired from General Motors Powertrain of Defiance in 1982 as a millwright after 32 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, UAW 211 and a life member of Knights of Columbus Council 1047 and the Employees Own Credit Union.

Patricia Joan Dunlap

Patricia Joan Dunlap, 66, of Delphos, died noon July 25 at her residence.
She was born May 28, 1936, in Columbus, Ind., to Floyd Morgan and Alice (Sweeney) Detrick. Her stepfather was John W. Detrick and stepmother is Naomi Morgan, who survives in Columbus, Ind.
On Feb. 24, 1954, she married Harry Dunlap, who survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include a son, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Dunlap of Northwood; two daughters, Denise (Robert) Kloeppel of Delphos and Kelly (Christopher) Cotton of Grove City; three sisters, Marilyn (Stanley) Kaufman of Emmaus, Pa., Virginia (Wilbur) Lisk-Rems of Macungie, Pa., and Judy (Richard) Bray of Columbus, Ind.; two brothers, Gary (Barbara) Morgan of Sumner, Ill., and William Morgan of Clanton, Ala.; and seven grandchildren, Dionna (Cory) Noonan, Derek Daulbaugh, Whitney and Brittany Dunlap and Emily, Alexander and Andrew Cotton.
Mrs. Dunlap had been office manager at U.S. Metalcraft, retiring in 1998. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, a former member of Phi Delta Sorority and a former officer for Jefferson Band Boosters. She volunteered at Delphos City Schools and church and was a Shawnee High School graduate.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, the Rev. William Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. today and 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Harter and Son Memorial Chapel, and one hour prior to services Sunday at the church.

Charles P. Dahling
June 11, 1926 - July 22, 2002
Charles P. "Slim" Dahling, 76, of Convoy, died 4:30 a.m. July 22 at his residence.
He was born June 11, 1926 in Fort Jennings, to William A. and Caroline T. (Wallen) Dahling.
On Oct. 28, 1960, he married Ange Mason, who survives in Convoy.
Survivors also include a daughter, Vickie (Randy) Perl of Van Wert; a brother, George (Dorothy) Dahling of Dayton; a sister, Caroline Klaus of Delphos; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and William Dahling; and a sister, Betty Seffernick.
Mr. Dahling retired from the former Chrysler Amplex Plant in Van Wert in 1987 as an industrial electrician. He attended St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church in St. Marys and was a member of the Van Wert Moose Lodge.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Alva Daniel officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Fort Jennings.
Friends may call 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Edmund F. Osting

Edmund F. Osting, 85, of Fort Jennings, died 9:40 p.m. July 22 at Vancrest Health Care Center, Delphos.
He was born June 12, 1917, in Delphos to Bernard and Eva (Kunz) Osting.
He married Connie Wannemacher, who died Sept. 1, 1998.
Survivors include two daughters, Sonna Whitney of Dublin and Bonita Osting of El Toro, Calif.; two brothers, Arnold and Kenneth Osting of Delphos; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Richard Osting.
Mr. Osting was a farmer and worked at Osting Construction. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rev. Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Delphos.

M. Catherine Luersman

M. Catherine Luersman, 97, of Landeck, died 2:45 a.m. July 22 at Vancrest Health Care Center, Delphos.
She was born March 9, 1905, in Allen County to Fred and Rosa (Schwinnen) Miller.
She married Albert J. Luersman, who died Dec. 14, 1965.
Survivors include a son, Carl (Lois) Luersman of Delphos; two daughters, Florence Burgei of Cloverdale and Pauline Schnipke of Ottawa; 25 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and 55 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Eva Schnipke; a son, Donald Luersman; and three brothers, Ferdinand, Eugene and Otto Miller.
Mrs. Luersman was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Landeck, where she sang in the adult choir until she was 80. She was also a member of the church's former Altar Rosary Society, Catholic Ladies of Columbia Council 84 and the Ohio Polka Booster's Association.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Rev. John Fleck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. today and 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp-Orians Funeral Home, Delphos. On Wednesday, a CL of C service will be at 7:30 p.m. and a parish wake service will be at 7:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Marguerite Faccenda

Funeral services for Marguerite E. Faccenda, 85, of Lima, who died 8:25 a.m. July 19 at Richland Manor Nursing Home, were held 11 a.m. today at Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Home, Lewis Chapel, the Rev. Dennis Hartigan officiating. Burial was in Gethsemani Cemetery.
She was born Dec. 12, 1916, in Delphos to William F. and Esther Mae (Maine) Cattell.
On June 14, 1937, she married Julian P. Faccenda, who died Oct. 7, 1983.
Survivors include a son, William P. (Judy) Faccenda of Lima; a daughter, Esther I. (David) Sherrick of Lima; a sister, Angelia "Judy" Brittingham of Delphos; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph C. Cattell.
Mrs. Faccenda was a homemaker.

Larry Putt
Feb. 20, 1937-July 19, 2002
Private graveside services for Larry Putt, 65, of Delphos, who died 5 p.m. July 19 at St. Rita's Medical Center, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ridge Cemetery, the Rev. Randy Giesige officiating, with military graveside services conducted by the Walterick-Hemme Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.
He was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Middle Point to Donald and Ruby (Sterling) Putt.
He married Christa Huch who survives.
Other survivors include a son, Steven D. (Tania) Putt of Delphos; a sister, Judy (Alfred) German of Van Wert; two brothers, Donald (Karen) Putt and Terry (Jeanette) Putt of Van Wert; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister and a daughter, Sharon Putt.
Mr. Putt had been a truck driver for Jones Transfer. He was a member of the Eagles, VFW and American Legion. He was an Army Specialist 5.

Bertha A. Davies

Bertha A. Davies, 83, formerly of Venedocia, died 5:20 p.m. July 19 at Vancrest Nursing Home, Van Wert.
She was born Sept. 5, 1918, in Fremont to Bernice and Eva (Smith) Donaldson.
On Oct. 10, 1941, she married T. Carl Davies, who died June 30, 1974.
Survivors include a son, Richard E. (Cindy) Davies of Blytheville, Ariz.; a son-in-law, Robert H. Snyder of rural Ohio City; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie Ann Snyder; and three brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. Davies retired in 1981 from Federal Mogul in Van Wert after 19 years. He was a member of the former Olive Chapel United Methodist Church, Converse.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cowan and Son Funeral Home, Van Wert. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery, Converse.

Elinor Sanner Lucas, 86, of Montara, Calif., formerly of Kalida, died July 3 in Montara.
She was born April 29, 1916, in Kalida.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Michael) Royer; and a grandson, Bradley Royer.
Mrs. Lucas had worked as a medical secretary/bookkeeper for many years. She also enjoyed collecting antiques.
