Sandra K. Piper, 61, of Elida, died at 11:40 a.m. Monday at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born June 18, 1941 in Van Wert, to Earl and Marjorie (Harmon) Arnold.
On Nov. 12, 1960, she married Larry E. Piper, who survives in Elida.
Other survivors include, two sons, Bart (Cherrie) Piper and Wade Piper of Elida; a sister, Maxine (Ben) Vorhees of Mendon; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Wilson.
Mrs. Piper was a homemaker and bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, a graduate of Van Wert High School and liked to play bingo.
Funeral services will be noon Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, the Rev. Wanda Werking officiating. Burial will be in Cairo East Cemetery.

William R. Briggs

William R. "Bill" Briggs, 76, of Lima, died at 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 15, 1927 in Dennison, to Leon A. and Sarah Ann (Pedicord) Briggs.
On July 29, 1945, he married Edith Sroufe, who survives in Lima.
Other survivors include three sons, Larry (Patricia) Briggs, Kelly Briggs and John (Julie) Briggs of Lima; a daughter, Marleen (Jon Purdy) Schimpf; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Briggs; a brother, Homer Veigel; and two sisters, Mabel Weaver and Elizabeth Veigel.
Mr. Briggs retired from Ford Motor Company as an electrician. He also worked on the Nickel Plate Railroad and was an electrician at Ex-cello for 18 years. He was a charter member of the Lima Coin Club and the Wapakoneta Coin Club. He enjoyed playing cards, going to auctions, gardening and yard work. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home,
Lima, the Rev. Howard Allison officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.

Virginia M. Bloomfield, 78, of Lima, died at 1:39 a.m. Friday at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Flat Rock, Mich., to William and Margarete (Hoeft) Lau.
She had been married to Linus Bloomfield, who died in 1992.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Bloomfield of Findlay, James (Teresa) Bloomfield of Lima and Patrick (Deb) Bloomfield of Defiance; a daughter, Sandra Bloomfield of Lima; two brothers, Robert Lau of Findlay and William (Darline) Lau of Indianapolis, Ind.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Kathy Bloomfield; and two sisters, Ruth Gobrogge and Norma Newville.
Mrs. Bloomfield was a homemaker and worked at Blue Cross-Blue Shield. She attended St. Gerard Catholic Church, Lima, and was a member of its Altar Rosary Society.
Mass of Christian burial was 10 a.m. today at St. Gerard Catholic Church, the Rev. George Blasick officiating. Burial was in Gethsemani Cemetery.

Rudolph P. Deitering

Rudolph P. Deitering, 89, of Ottoville, died at 11:25 a.m. Sunday at Paradise Oaks Health Care Center, Cloverdale.
He was born Aug. 2, 1913, in Ottoville, to Henry and Catherine (Beining) Deitering.
On Sept. 25, 1935, he married Alberta C. Kehres, who died Jan. 10, 2001.
Survivors include a son, James (Grace) Deitering of Ottoville; two daughters, Doris (Fred) Dunn of Romance, Ariz., and Shelva Jean Ritzel of Xenia; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Albert, Leo, Joe and Oliver Deitering; three sisters, Clara Koester, Florence Miller and Emma Deitering; and a grandson, Scott Deitering.
Mr. Deitering was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Holy Name Society. He was a former Monterey Township Trustee and board member of Ottoville Mutual Telephone Company.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings, the Rev. Tony Borgia officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Ottoville.

LaVern A. Terry, 87, of Van Wert, died at 12:41 p.m. March 17 at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born Sept. 8, 1915, in Van Wert, to Floyd A. and Lola (Crawford) Terry.
On June 5, 1941, he married Lavon "Bonnie" Milheim, who died April 10, 2001.
Survivors include a son, Lendell A. Terry of Guadelupe, Calif.; a daughter, Bonita Lynn (Jay) Simson of Van Wert; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Uretta Warner and Nellie Hefke.
Mr. Terry worked at Kennedy Kit and Federal Mogul Corp. in Van Wert. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a dental assistant stationed in India. He was a 50-year member of the Van Wert Masonic Lodge.
Memorial services will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Ora Lee "Gracie" Crites, 76, of Elida, died at 10:25 p.m. Wednesday at Springview Manor Nursing Home.
She was born June 6, 1926 in Middlesboro, Ky., to Hillary and Molly (Parton) Mason.
On July 29, 1943, she married Urbanus Burdette Crites, who survives in Elida.
Other survivors include five sons, David G. (Becky) Crites, Warren (Joann) Crites, Barry L. (Linda) Crites, Michael (Debra) Crites and Mark Crites of Elida; four sisters, June Evans, Loretta Evans, Elizabeth Ackerman and Joyce Johnson; two brothers, Larry and Neal Mason; 12 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Crites; two brothers, Leonard and Bill Mason; and three sisters, Edith Caywood, Ada Martin and Edna Sampson.
Mrs. Crites was a homemaker. She was a member of Pilgrim Holiness Church.

Robert L. ‘Bob' White

Robert L. "Bob" White, 80, of Columbus Grove, died at 10:50 a.m. Friday at Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima.
He was born Aug. 9, 1922 in Leipsic, to Lewis Leonard and Iva (Maidlow) White.
On July 26, 1944 he married Jesta M. Griffith, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Robert L. (Eileen) White of Felton, Ga., and Mark (Diane) White of Grand Island, NY; three daughters, Cynthia (Jan) Harper of Columbus Grove, Kristin (Art) DeGeorge of Canton, and Stacey (Bruce) Laubenthal of Ottawa; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was the owner of White's Clothing Store, Columbus Grove, until his retirement in 1987. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was a member of the Columbus Grove American Legion Post 516 and was a 50-year Masonic Lodge member.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, the Rev. Gary Ginter officiating. Burial will be in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove, with military graveside services.

Kimberly Lee Hesseling, 40, of Delphos, died at 5:25 a.m. Friday at SCCI Hospital in Lima.
She was born Oct. 30, 1962 in Delphos, to James and Florentine "Honey" (Martin) Cooley. Her mother survives in Delphos.
Survivors also include two sons, Jeffrey Stocklin of Ottoville and Andrew Stocklin of Delphos; a daughter, Jennifer (Billy) Smith of Delphos; five sisters, Susan (Wayne) Meeks of Lima, Diane (Paul) Fetzer, Patricia (Richard) Patton and Jodi Cooley of Delphos and Vicki Agler of Middle Point; a brother, Tom Cooley of Delphos; and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Cooley.
Hesseling formerly worked at Recharge Enterprise in Delphos. She was a member of the Orioles.

Bernard T. Doyle, 83, of Lima, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday at his residence.
He was born July 4, 1919, in Erie, Penn., to Patrick and Jennie (Leonard) Doyle.
On Aug. 28, 1948, he married Mary Elizabeth Takacs, who survives in Lima.
Survivors also include a daughter, Nancy (Gregory) Heminger of Sylvania; two sons, Patrick Doyle and the Rev. Thomas Doyle, S.J., of Milwaukee, Wis.; a sister, Katherine Stuck of Zanesville; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Bober; and a brother-in-law, Walter Stuck.
Mr. Doyle retired from Randall Bearing as a machinist. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Lima, the Bluffton Golf Course, the Adena American Legion and was a Navy veteran, having served for six years.

She was born Sept. 11, 1923 in Alger, to W. Reed and Lucy A. (Pletcher) Ramsdell.
On Nov. 27, 1943, she married Clair E. Butturff, who survives in Lima.
Other survivors include, a sister, Sue (Charles) Scott of Littleton, Colo.; and two sisters-in-law, Mary G. (Richard) Repasz and Dorothy M. Clark of Lima.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet M. Spicer; and a brother-in-law, Floyd Clark.
Mrs. Butturff was an accountant at Westinghouse in Lima. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Lima, and its Christian Comrades. She was also a member of the ADAH Circle and the Shrine Camping Club, was co-chairman of the Ohio Nomads YMCA Travel and Adventure Series, a member of the YWCA, Senior Citizens Services and St. Rita's Medical Center Auxiliary, past president of the Lima Soroptimist Club and past president of the Lima Toastmistress Club.

Grace Marie VanMeter, 83, of Lima, died at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday at Beverly Health Care, Lima Center.
She was born Feb. 11, 1920, in Savage, Mont., to Albert and Mary (Cotter) Chandler.
On July 26, 1938, she married Dave VanMeter, who died Sept. 30, 1987.
Survivors include two sons, David (Sherry) VanMeter of Lima and Sherman (Barbara) VanMeter of Austin, Texas; a brother, Cliff (Pauline) Chandler of Fall River, Mass.; a sister, Donna (Lyle) Carter of Big River, Calif.; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. VanMeter was a homemaker. She was a past member of Eastern Star and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and bingo.

Everett I. Miller

Everett I. Miller, 90, of Lima, died Monday at his residence.
He was born Dec. 31, 1912, in Spencerville, to James Albert and Martha Mary (Theising) Miller.
On June 25, 1934, he married Carman D. Drake, who died in November 1996.
Survivors include a son, Mickey (Emily) Miller of Lima; a sister, Mary Baber of Lima; a sister-in-law, Gladolia Miller of Lima; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Orville, Arthur, Walter, Robert and Melvin Miller; and a sister, Eva Howdeshett.
Mr. Miller retired from Buckeye Pipeline in 1975. He was a life member of Elks Lodge 54, a member of Eagles Aerie 370 and a former member of the Lima Club. He was a 1930 graduate of Spencerville High School and member of the varsity basketball team. He was an avid sports fan, and loved horse racing and playing cards.

William E. Engel, 92, of St. Marys, died at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday at Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in St. Marys.
He was born Nov. 17, 1910 in St. Marys, to Frank and Elsie (Fickel) Miller.
On July 1, 1937, he married Lois O. Miller, who survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Lee) Clausing and Rebecca (John) Davis of St. Marys; a brother, Robert "Rolo" Engel of Fort Myers, Fla.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Katherine McVay, Emilie Helms and Gertrude Smith; a brother, Carl Engel; and a grandchild.
Mr. Engel had been a projectionist at St. Marys Theater and later retired from St. Marys Woolen Mill as a blanket weaver. He also owned the former St. Marys Kiddie Shop for a number of years. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, St. Marys, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 767 and served on the board of directors of the American Budget Company for 25 years. He was an avid bingo player.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, 703 Ohio West, St. Marys, the Rev. Patricia Minnick officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

Gladys M. Lucas, 81, of Delphos, died at 2:40 a.m. Monday at Vancrest Health Care Center.
She was born July 20, 1921 in Delphos, to James F. and Millie (Wohltman) Martin.
On Sept. 11, 1937, she married I. Emory Lucas, who died Oct. 13, 1970.
Survivors include a son, Philip (LaVerne) Lucas of Windsor, Colo.; a daughter, Kathy Seffernick of Delphos; a brother, Joseph Martin of Delphos; five grandchildren, Eric, Kelli (Richard) Mann, Carrie and Courtney Lucas, 1st Lt. Shawn (Stephanie) Seffernick, who is currently involved in Operation Iraqi Freedom; and six great-grandchildren, Danielle, Cody, Kyle, Heather, Gavin and Colin.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel Feathers, Esther Hoover and Mary Jane Whitaker; four brothers, John Henry, Howard, Richard and James Martin; and a granddaughter, Tracy Jo Perrigan.
Mrs. Lucas was employed at DWG Cigar Factory for 17 years and then worked at I&K Distributors for 11 years until her retirement. She was an active member of First Christian Union Church, Delphos, and supported a mission group, Teens for Christ, in Florida.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. April 5 at First Christian Union Church, the Rev. Ron Drage officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery at a later date.

She was born March 21, 1911 in Van Wert County, to James L. and Ocee Pearl (Boucher)Shively.
On Oct. 8, 1932, she married Wilbert H. Bell, who died Jan. 10, 1986.
Survivors include a son, Jim (Alice) Bell of Van Wert; three daughters, Carol (Dick) Baxter of Van Wert, Alice (Bob) Lake of Grover Hill and Jadine (Ed) Conn of Ohio City; a sister, Margaret DeCamp of Convoy; 23 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Opal and Mabel Bell; and a grandchild.
Mrs. Bell was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress for John Earl Company and the Marsh Foundation in Van Wert. She was a member of Antioch Chapel Church, Van Wert, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She served on the Van Wert County Hospital Lady of Board Manager, was a former 4-H adviser and a former member of the Crestview Area Farmwives and Ladies Aid of the church.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. James Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.

James Robert Clark, 80, of Lima, died at 8:46 p.m. Friday in Palm Coast, Fla.
He was born June 29, 1922 in Lima, to Bryce and Florntla R. (Hunelman) Clark.
He married Erma Jane Hollar, who survives in Houston, Texas.
Other survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Darnell of Las Vegas; a son, Michael Clark of Houston; four sisters, Arline Ranga of Florida, Lucille Ehrlich of Lima and Marjorie Thornton of California and Alice Garrett of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nelda J. Mowery.
Mr. Clark was an engineer for Standard Oil Company, Lima. He was a member of United Methodist Church, Benevolent and Protective Order of Moose and the Elks Club. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during World War II.
Graveside services will be noon Thursday at Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima, the Rev. Wanda Werking officiating.

Neil G. Patton

Neil G. Patton, 74, of Lima, died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday at Lima Manor Nursing Home.
He was born June 10, 1928, in Allen County, to Gerald W. and Leola (Moorman) Patton.
In 1960, he married Ruth (Lyle) Friend, who survives in Lima.
Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Pamela Sue Huffer of Cridersville; a step-son-in-law, Murrel Wise of Columbus, Ind.; an aunt, Caroline Watt of Cridersville; two nieces and one nephew; six grandchildren and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary W. Patton; a stepdaughter, Diane Wise; and a sister, Elloise Patton Cockerell.
Mr. Patton retired as bailiff at Lima Municipal Court after 25 years of service. He also resigned as deputy sheriff in 1952 and was a sales representative for Old Dutch Beer in Findlay for 17 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Association (F.O.P.A.) for many years, the Public Employees Retirement of Ohio and a former member of the Orioles Club.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, the Rev. Doug Adams officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Herman Deitering, 70, of Tipp City, formerly of Ottoville, died Sunday in Tipp City.
He was born June 6, 1932, in Ottoville, to Leo and Rosa Deitering.
On Feb. 16, 1952, he married Margie Ashby, who survives.
Survivors also include a son, Steven Deitering of Toledo; three daughters, Joyce (Ron) Savory of Clayton and Judy (Randy) Shoup and Joan (John) Wiley of Vandalia; a sister, Mary Lee Laudick of Upper Sandusky; five brothers, Elmer Deitering of Piqua, Tom Deitering of Leipsic, John Deitering of Sidney, Dan Deitering of Maumee and Leo Deitering Jr. of Baltimore, Md.; and seven grandchildren, Scott, Michael and Chrissy Deitering, John and Andy Wiley, Trey Savory and Kyle Shoup.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and William Deitering.
Mr. Deitering was associated with General Fixtures and Deitering and Associates. He was most recently with E. Ruff and Associates. He attended the University of Cincinnati and graduated with a bachelor's degree in business accounting.

She was born Sept. 17, 1923 in Delphos, to Dewey and Mayme (Brady) Steinle.
In January 1948, she married Jim Hotz, who survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Ed (Patsy) Hotz of St. Louis, Mo., Joe Hotz of Marion and Matt Hotz of Cleveland; four daughters, Mary (Bob Etchells) Hotz of Ringwood, N.J., Katy (Steve) White of Charleston, W.V., Ann Hotz of Columbus and Chris (Doug) Hotz-Steward of Dayton; a brother, the Rev. James Steinle of Tiffin; two sister, Ann Lang of Delphos, and Margie (Bob) Meghreblian of Santa Barbara, Calif; 14 grandchildren, a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hotz had worked as a social worker in Toledo and in social services for Marion Correctional Institution, Marion Technical College and Catholic Social Services of Newark. She was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Marion. She was involved in various community and charitable organizations; and was an avid card player.

Veda Marcele (Sheley) Pollock, 98, of Beverly, Mass., died Friday at Blueberry Hill Nursing Home, Beverly.
She was born Jan. 28, 1905, in Middle Point, to Perry Vernon and Amanda Elma (Gamble) Sheley.
On Dec. 25, 1922, she married Francis Austin Pollock, who died Sept. 20, 1975.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances Veda (Edward Richard) Fitzgibbons of Boxford, Mass., a grandson, Paul Thomas Fitzgibbons of Groveland, Mass., and a granddaughter, Veda Louise (George Francis) Connolly Jr., of Georgetown, Mass.; five grandchildren, three nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Loena Sheley and Fannie Blanche Allen; and two brothers, Lendel Arly Sheley and Robert Edward Sheley.
Mrs. Pollock had worked as an assembler of aircraft instruments at Kolhsman's Plant during World War II. She retired after 19 years as a legal secretary in a New York City law firm. She was a member of Middle Point Methodist Church, the Delphos Chapter 26, Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and a former member of the Middle Point Jolly Timers.
A memorial service is planned at a later date at Middle Point Methodist Church. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point.

Jerry Curtiss Tate, 40, of Van Wert, died Thursday afternoon at his residence.
He was born Nov. 28, 1962, in Columbus, to Jimmy and Janet Tate. His father survives in Mount Hope, W.V., and his mother survives with his stepfather, John Rife, in Van Wert.
Other survivors include four children, Teddy Terricka, Tia and Kathy Tate of Van Wert; three stepchildren, Britni, Kayla and Hillary Wells; a brother, Henry Rife Jr. of Van Wert; a grandmother, Hester Harrah of Mount Hope; a nephew, Ethan Rife of Van Wert; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a son, Toby Curtiss Tate; a sister, Kathy Tate; and grandfather Ted Harrah.
Mr. Tate was a former truck driver and had currently been a painter at Strick Corp. He was a 1981 graduate of Van Wert High School.
Funeral services will be 5 p.m. today at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Keith Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.

Frank A. Mowery, 79, of Spencerville, died at 9:40 p.m. Thursday at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville.
He was born April 11, 1923, in Ada, to Clifford and Kathryn (Thompson) Mowery.
On Dec. 23, 1968, he married Juanita I. Miller, who survives.
Other survivors include six sons, Charles (Sherri Cook) Mowery of Delphos, James (Rebecca) Robey of Kossuth, Mark (Sharon) Robey and Larry (Linda) Hilyard of Spencerville, Ernest Robey of Lima and Walter Dean Hilyard of Mountain View, Mo.; four daughters, Susan Tidwell and Martha Robey of Spencerville, Tamara (James) Sanders of Delphos and Sheridan Thompson of Lima; a brother, Clarence Mowery of Lima; two sisters, Lillian Hollister of Ada and Elizabeth Guyton of Springfield; 25 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Henry Mowery; and two sisters, Esther DeLong and Kathryn Kahler.
Mr. Mowery was a factory worker with 30 years of service with S&S Products Company in Lima. He was a member of Friends Church in Spencerville and the Railroad Evangelists. In the 1940 and 1950s, he worked as a rancher in Colorado training horses. He trained and sold "Trigger Jr." to Roy Rogers.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. Burial will be at a later date in Spencerville Cemetery.

Louis C. Scherger, 83, of Delphos, died at 6:40 a.m. Friday at Vancrest Health Care Center.
He was born Feb. 13, 1920, in Delphos, to Thomas G. and Flora (Wulfhorst) Scherger.
On Sept. 4, 1943, he married Rosemary A. Metzner, who survives in Delphos.
Survivors also include three sons, John G. (Sheri) Scherger of Kokomo, Ind., Dr. James L. (Carol) Scherger of Sandusky and Robert C. (Polly) Scherger of Wapakoneta; two daughters, Sr. Louise Scherger, SND, of Delphos and Dr. Mary Elizabeth (Ray) Bonhomme of Melbourne, Fla.; a sister, Betty Kundert of Delphos; six grandchildren, Matthew, Carrie, Jay, Rachel and Hannah Scherger and Allison (Patrick) O'Donnell.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Scherger.
Mr. Scherger had been part-owner, vice president and president of Delphos Bending Company and retired from Van Wert County Health and Human Services. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where he was past president of the parish council, lector, cantor, choir member and first lay distributor. He was also a member of the Delphos Knights of Columbus Council 1362, a charter member and past president of the Delphos Rotary Club, member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Lima, past president and member of the Delphos City School Board of Education for 34 years, member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, board member of the Arnold C. Dienstberger Foundation and Cub Scout leader.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

She was born in Fort Des Moines to William and Amanda (Vance) Shutt.
In 1920, she married Virgil Albert Conley, who died Dec. 31, 1967.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Sheryl (Bill) Dawson of Spencerville and Richard (Linda) McCoy of Bluffton; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dewey Conley; a daughter, Harriet McCoy; a grandchild, five brothers, one sister and a nephew that had cared for her, Frank Nye.
Mrs. Conley was a homemaker and lifelong member of the Fort Des Moines Presbyterian Church.

He was born Aug. 19, 1923 in Allen County, to Hobart and Wanda (Sherfey) Kahler.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann (Bill) Snider of Lima and Roberta L. (Phil) Myers of Cridersville; a son, Keith (Tammy) Kahler of Put-in-Bay; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, LaVerne Kahler; two brothers, Warren and Frank Kahler; and an aunt, Thelma Lacey.
Mr. Kahler worked as an electrician for the city of Lima in the Signal Division. He was a member of the Lima Eagles Aerie and YWCA Senior's Group.

Donald Mox, 79, of Delphos, died at 10:27 p.m. Wednesday at Vancrest Health Care Center, Van Wert.
He was born Nov. 2, 1923 in Delphos, to Clarence E. and Edna P. (Feaster) Mox.
On Feb. 1, 1947, he married Ruby Marie Blackmore, who died Jan. 27, 1996.
Survivors include two sons, Steven A. (Laura) Mox of Rockford and Michael D. (Rose) Mox of Lima; three daughters, Alice Mayer of Elida, Norma (Ted) Koenig of Delphos, and Helen (Ted) Gorman of Ottoville; four grandchildren, Crystal Mox, Amy (Josh) Ebling, Amber Mox and Andy Mox; and a great-grandchild, Kale R. Ebling.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry E. Mox.
Mox was a Real Estate broker for 30 years. He also farmed and raised livestock. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, where he was confirmed May 30, 1937. He was a member of the Elks, Moose, Auction and Real Estate Association, and was a charter member of the Delphos FFA. He was an auctioneer for the St. John's Parish Festival, Allen and Van Wert county fairs and the Delphos Country Club Calcutta. He was a 1941 graduate of Jefferson High School.

He was born Oct. 20, 1914, in Convoy, to Albert R. and Blanche (Schultz) Miller.
On April 21, 1938, he married Elizabeth J. Pollock, who died April 13, 1997.
Survivors include two sons, Richard W. Miller of Middle Point and Mark W. (Joyce) Miller of Van Wert; a daughter, Beverly (David) Brown of Rio Grand City, Texas; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Clifford and Wayne Miller; and two sisters, Hazel Etzler and Oval Merkle.
Mr. Miller retired from National Seal Corp. after 32 years in quality control. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Van Wert. He was an avid bowler and inducted into the Van Wert Men's Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1998.

Survivors include three nephews, Norman Thomas, Ronald (Judy) Strayer and William (Frances) Strayer of rural Elida; a niece, Janice (Urban) Gochoel of Fairfax, Va.; a great-niece and caregiver, Susan (James) Mekolites of rural Elida; and several other great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and Gale Strayer; two sisters, Estella Thomas and Clara Strayer; a niece and former caregiver, Betty (John) Blymer; and a nephew, Stanley Strayer.
Miss Strayer retired as a secretary at The City Loan Company in Lima after 50 years. She was a life member of Zion United Methodist Church, near Elida, and its United Methodist Women. She was a graduate of Elida High School.

He was born Nov. 23, 1921 in Leipsic, to August and Martha (Goedde) Niese.
On April 21, 1948, he married Alma Warnecke, who died Oct. 23, 1963.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Beckman; an infant brother; and a daughter, Mary Niese.
Mr. Niese retired from Scot Lad Foods and had been a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9648 and American Legion Post 516, Columbus Grove. He served in the U.S. Army in Japan and Germany during World War II. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Mrs. Reed retired from Dana Co., in 1980 after 20 years. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Dana Retirees. She was a graduate of Fort Jennings High School.

He was born Oct. 31, 1921, in Putnam County, to Walter and Adeline (Schwertner) Wannemacher.
On Nov. 22, 1956, he married Mildred Siefker, who died Feb. 16, 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph R. Wannemacher and William "Bill" (Suzanne) Wannemacher of Ottoville; a daughter, Judy M. Wannemacher of Ottoville; a sister, Mildred (Arnold) Luersman of Delphos; and three grandchildren, Tara, Adria and Eric Wannemacher of Ottoville.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ludwin and Richard Wannemacher.
Mr. Wannemacher owned and operated Ray Wannemacher Construction for more than 50 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Lions Club and a past member of the Ottoville Village Council, where he had served as president.

On Aug. 29, 1940, he married Mary J. Miller, who died Dec. 18, 1965. He then married Betty Dimock on Aug. 23, 1966. She died June 1, 1991.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Jerry) Scarbrough of Grover Hill; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Corey owned and operated Corey Hardware in Grover Hill. He had worked at Aero Corp., in Bryan, and Grizzly Manufacturing in Paulding. He attended Dupont Church of the Brethren and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In 1936, she married Ronald E. Bowers, who died in 1988.
Survivors include five sons, Ronald G. Bowers and Roger L. (Dee) Bowers of Elida, Darrel W. (Carol) Bowers of Delphos, Giles B. "Irish" (Debbie) Bowers of Findlay and M. Axel (Cindy) Bowers of Allentown; 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Constance K. Ocker; a brother, Earl D. Sproul; a sister, Fern Morris; a daughter-in-law, Donna Bowers; and a great-granddaughter, Susan Ocker.
Mrs. Bowers was a homemaker. She was a member of Allentown United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and held numerous offices.

On Sept. 12, 1941, he married Alma Faye Bellinger, who survives in Lima.
Other survivors include three daughters, Sheryl A. (Terry) Shoemaker and Nancy J. (Marvin) Kirchhofer of Elida and Connie S. (Bernard "Ben") Wallenhorst of Middle Point; three sisters, Lydia A. He was preceded in death by two sons, an infant and Gerry R. Blosser; and two brothers, Roy Dean and Samuel D. Blosser.
Mr. Blosser retired from Nickles Bakery after 25 years and was then employed at St. Rita's Medical Center for 11 years. He was a member of Allentown United Methodist Church.
