Mary E. Shank

Mary E. Shank, 81, of Findlay, formerly of Fremont and Rockford, Ill., died at 8:41 a.m. Tuesday at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
She was born April 3, 1922, in Akron, to Dorsey and Helen (White) Swartz.
On March 21, 1942, she married Renick Shank Sr., who survives in Albuquerque, N.M.
Survivors also include four sons, Renick (Donna) Shank Jr., James (Linda) Shank, K. Charles Shank and Ted (Jean) Shank of Rockford; two daughters, Helen (Randy) Kunkleman of Elida and Mary (Andy) Bauman of Findlay; two cousins, Agnes Godwin and Mary Ann Hunt of Akron; a niece, Patricia (Lew) Werle of Rockford; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Swartz; and a brother, James Swartz.
Memorial graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Calvary Cemetery in Rockford, with her family members officiating.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, and after 12:30 p.m. Friday at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is planned by the family.
Mary Arlene Foust

Mary Arlene Foust, 81, of Scott, died at 6:43 a.m. Monday at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born Dec. 28, 1921, in Paulding County, to Virn F. and Bertha I. (Hoover) Sanderson.
On Sept. 1, 1940, she married Delmer D. Foust, who died Jan. 24, 1991.
Survivors include three sons, Cecil (Brenda) Foust of Convoy, Jean W. (Judy) Foust of Van Wert and Jerry W. (Marylin) Foust of Venedocia; two daughters, Rosemary (Dan) Todd of Atlanta, Ga., and Cheryll (Louis) Miller of Defiance; 10 grandchildren, one stepgrandchild, eight great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Mrs. Foust worked many years at Dana Weatherhead in Antwerp. She was a member of Country Chapel United Methodist Church, Haviland, and its women's society. She enjoyed traveling.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. Burial will be in Blue Creek Cemetery, Haviland.

Patricia L. Laudick

Patricia L. Laudick, 72, of Spring City, Tenn., formerly of Delphos, died at 2:15 p.m. Monday at her daughter's residence in Bluffton.
She was born May 27, 1930, in Fort Jennings, to Stewart and Myrtle (Harter) Adams.
On May 20, 1950, she married Mervin "Mike" Laudick, who survives in Spring City.
Survivors also include a son, David (Ann) Laudick of Kokomo, Ind.; a daughter, Diane (Brett) Stratton of Bluffton; a sister, Ruth Graff of Logansport, Ind., a brother, Gerald "Fuzzy" (Wilma) Adams of Lakeview; two grandchildren, T.J. (Gina) Wiley and Tisha Wiley of Delphos; and a great-grandson, Vincent Wiley of Delphos.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Edith Smith, Hazel Gabbert and Ethel Miller; and a brother, Harold Adams.
Mrs. Laudick retired from Beckmann Furniture as a seamstress. She was a member of St. Bridget Church in Dayton, Tenn., and the Spring City Senior Citizens. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3035 Auxiliary and a past member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She enjoyed making crafts and ceramics, fishing, walking and being outdoors.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will be in Fort Jennings Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today at Harter and Son Memorial Chapel, where a VFW Auxiliary service will be at 7 p.m. and a parish wake will be at 7:30 p.m.

Vi Schmersal

Vi Schmersal, 56, of Lake Wales, Fla., formerly of Delphos, died April 14 from injuries sustained in a car accident.
She was born Sept. 20, 1946.
She married William Schmersal, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Dawn Englebert of Woodale, Ill., and Tammy Englebert of Lake Wales; three stepchildren, Becky, Bob and Jim Schmersal; and four grandchildren, Jimmy and Johnny Englebert and Ashley and Cassy Englebert. Her mother and siblings also survive in Florida and Illinois.
Funeral services were held April 15 in Lake Wales. A memorial service was held at Bowman Funeral Home, Melrose Park, Ill. Her remains were cremated.
Donald E. Anderson
Nov. 5, 1920 - April 23, 2003
Donald E. Anderson, 82, of Columbus Grove, died at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday at Odyssey Hospice, Mesa, Ariz.
He was born Nov. 5, 1920, in Columbus Grove, to Ralph and Minnie Mae (Benroth) Anderson.
On Aug. 12, 1946, he married Louise Clara Wetli, who died Oct. 7, 1999.
Survivors include a daughter, Josephine Nagle of Mesa; a brother, Alfred (Bea) Anderson of Columbus Grove; a sister, Doris (Robert) Griffith of North Carolina; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Anderson; and two sisters, Mary Evans and Ruth Dackin.
Mr. Anderson retired from BFI Iron as serviceman, installing and repairing control panels for water and sewer departments. He also worked at Sohio Refinery in Lima. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Memorial services and burial will be held at a later date.
Janice E. Brentlinger

Janice E. "Jan" Brentlinger, 51, of Vaughnsville, died at 9:50 a.m. Saturday at her residence.
She was born June 17, 1951, in Lima, the Thelma and Darrell Frail.
On Nov. 27, 1970, she married John D. Brentlinger, who survives.
Survivors include three sons, John, Joel and Jim; two daughters-in-law, Marie and Lynette.
Mrs. Brentlinger was a homemaker and seamstress. She was a 1969 graduate of Shawnee High School. She also enjoyed cross stitching.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Angela M. Utrup, 79, of Columbus Grove, died at 1:05 p.m. Friday at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 9, 1924, in Cuba, to Frank and Elenora (Schroeder) Verhoff.
On Aug. 6, 1947, she married Arnold Utrup, who survives in Columbus Grove.
Survivors also include four sons, Leon (Janice) Utrup and Alvin (Cindy) Utrup of Glandorf, Steven (Eileen) Utrup of Cleveland and Melvin (Shannon) Utrup of Ottawa; three daughters, Dr. Linda Utrup of Germantown, Md., Donna (William) Butler of Kalida and Rose (Michael) Brownson of Perrysburg; three sisters, Frances Schulte of Kalida, Loretta (Claude) Burwell of Columbus Grove and Edna Karhoff of Glandorf; a sister-in-law, Mary Verhoff of Cuba; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and Wilfred Verhoff; and two sisters, Florence and Mary Ann Verhoff.
Mrs. Utrup was a homemaker and retired from Sylvania GTE, Ottawa. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, and its Altar Rosary Society.
Mass of Christian burial was 10 a.m. today at St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Rev. David Ross officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Elayne Wheelbarger

Elayne Wheelbarger, 85, of Lima, died at 3:30 a.m. Friday at Beverly Health Care Center in Lima.
She was born Feb. 26, 1918, in Lima, to Ira T. and Orpha Mae (Himes) Sterrett.
On July 4, 1941, she married Herman Wheelbarger, who survives in Lima.
Other survivors include two daughters, Lynda Tribolet and Susan (John) McCain of Lima; three sisters, Isabel Williams, Ruth Taylor and Dorothy Tygner of Lima; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Cyril and Bernard Sterrett.
Mrs. Wheelbarger was a homemaker and volunteered with the children from the Children's Home. During World War II, she worked at Ohio Steel. She was a former member of Eastern Star and Phi Beta Psi Sorority. She was an active bowler for many years and coordinated the South High Class of 1936 reunions. She enjoyed sewing and crafts.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Burial was in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Norma C. Warnecke, 76, of rural Spencerville, died at 9:46 p.m. Thursday at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 26, 1926 in Van Wert County, to Arnold J. and Florence C. (Gerdeman) Reindel.
On May 25, 1946, she married Carl H. Warnecke, who died Oct. 10, 1998.
Survivors include six sons, Ronald (Jayne Vaske) Warnecke of Elida, Wayne (Alice) Warnecke and Larry (Mary Ann) Warnecke of Delphos, James (Patricia) Warnecke and Kenny Warnecke of Spencerville and Robert (Marie) Warnecke of Ottoville; a daughter, Lois (Steven) Hemker of Landeck; two sisters, Eileen (Hubert) Holdgreve of Delphos and Ruth (Robert) Kaufman of Defiance; a brother, Melvin (Jane) Reindel of Middle Point; 16 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Warnecke; and one grandchild, Andy Warnecke.
Mrs. Warnecke was a homemaker and worked with her husband and family on their farm. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Spencerville, and its Altar Rosary Society. She was valedictorian of her 1944 graduating class at Middle Point High School. She enjoyed cooking and high school basketball. She worked at the Allen County Board of Elections for several years and volunteered at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Rev. John Fleck officiating. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery.

She was born April 22 to Lisa Winings and Joshua Bridges, who survive in Lima.

He was born May 10, 1918, in Jackson Township, Van Wert County, to Lemuel and Myrtle (Dunlap) Mosier.
On June 25, 1946, he married Ida M. Myers, who survives in Van Wert.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Everett, Rolland, Lawrence and Harold Mosier; and one sister, Berniece Miller.
Mr. Mosier retired in 1981 after 35 years at Borden Cheese Co., Van Wert. He attended North Union United Methodist Church, Van Wert. He was a member of the Van Wert American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre and the British West Indies.

He was born Dec. 19, 1924, in Van Wert, to Frank and Elsie (Blockberger) Carder.
He married Lucille K. Hofstetter, who survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include four sons, Robert (Toni) Carder of Boca Raton, Fla., and Paul Carder, Dale "Bunny" Carder (Denise Knick) and Larry (Mary) Carder of Delphos; three daughters, Diane Carder and Sue (David) McNeal of Delphos and Mary (Robert) Jackson of Oak Creek, Wis.; four sisters, Amelia Bullinger of Fort Jennings, Lois (Wilfred) Osting of Delphos and Mary Lou (Rollin) Bullinger and Jeanette (Donald) Mesker of Oakwood; three brothers, Orville "Bud" (Clara) Carder and Delbert (Marty) Carder of Delphos and Richard (Joann) Carder of Ottoville; and 11 grandchildren.
Mr. Carder retired after 29 years as production supervisor at Central Soya Corporation. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, a life member of Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3035, and a member of American Legion Post 191 in Spencerville and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471. He volunteered in the park at Grand Lake St. Marys State Park Campground and was an avid camper. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Virginia E. Missler Kyle, 78, of Van Wert, died at 2:11 a.m. Tuesday at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born Dec. 17, 1924, in Van Wert County, to Virgil and Helen (Roop) Gamble.
On April 8, 1944, she married Paul Missler, who died Sept. 28, 1987. On April 15, 1989, she married Edwin Kyle, who died May 11, 1992.
Survivors include two sons, Kent Missler of Ohio City, and David Missler of Convoy; two daughters, Linda K. Missler of Lima and Kathleen (Richard) Kesler of Van Wert; two brothers, Robert (Carol) Gamble of Ohio City and Max (Linda) Gamble of Van Wert; and one grandchild.
Mrs. Kyle was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Friends Church, Van Wert, and its STIC Group, and the Van Wert County Farm Bureau.

Sharon K. Huebner, 55, of Laurens, S.C., died at 4:20 a.m. Sunday at Geauga Community Hospital, Chardon.
She was born Feb. 21, 1948, in Columbus, to Donald M. and Florence J. (Roth) Huebner. Her father survives in Laurens.
Other survivors include two brothers, Max A. (Victoria) Huebner of Concord, and Eddy E. (Rita) Huebner of North Royalton; two nieces, Jodi L. (Carlos) Marquez and Sandra K. Huebner of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and five nephews, Christopher S. (Dawn) Crowell of Springville, N.Y., Eric D. Crowel of Mentor and Shane Huebner, Nick Huebner and Jonathon Huebner of North Royalton.
Ms. Huebner worked as a chemical engineer in Toledo. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Laurens. She was a graduate of Parma High School and attended Cleveland State University.

Charles R. Johnson

Charles R. "Cy" Johnson, 87, of Van Wert, died at 5:33 a.m. Tuesday at Lincolnway Nursing Home, Middle Point.
He was born Sept. 21, 1915, in Ridge Township, Van Wert County, to Frank Clifford and E. Orah (Burgner) Johnson.
On May 29, 1943, he married Virgil L. Shrider, who died July 21, 1985. In 1987, he married Betty Lou Linninger, who died July 1, 1999.
Survivors include three stepsons, Bob, Tom and Jim Rhodes of Van Wert; and six stepgrandchildren.
Mr. Johnson was the former owner and operator of John & Medford Welding in Van Wert. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and the Van Wert American Legion Post 178. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He was a 1935 graduate of Ridge High School.
Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Joe Wilck officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, with military graveside rites conducted by the Van Wert American Legion and VFW posts.

Dr. Clayton Wolfe
Dr. Clayton Wolfe, of Alliance, died March 31.
He was born in 1905 near Delphos, to Dr. John and Mary Jane (Clark) Wolfe.
He married Edna Keefer, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Larry Wolfe of Cleveland, and Jackson Wolfe of Boulder, Colo.; two grandsons, Damian Wolfe and Joda Wolfe of San Diego, Calif.; and nephew and niece Dr. and Mrs. David Davies of Seven Lakes, N.C.
Dr. Wolfe was the past president of the Stark County Dental Society and life member of the Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity. He was also a member of the following organizations for 50 years or more: The Methodist Church, the Masonic Order, the Rotary Club and the hospital board.
He completed his public schooling at Delphos and went on to graduate as a doctor of dental surgery from Case Western Reserve University in 1930.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave., Alliance, the Revs. David Kowaleski and David Hostetler officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Lula A. Yochum, 90, of Lima, died at 2:05 a.m. Monday at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born July 4, 1912, in Fort Jennings, to Louis and Mary (Heyd) Musser.
On Nov. 27, 1930, she married Albert Yochum, who died Sept. 2, 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald and Nicholas Yochum of Lima; a daughter, Mary Kathryn Shaner of Lima; a sister, Letha Recker of Lima; 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bill Yochum; and a daughter, Nancy Joherl.
Mrs. Yochum was employed at the Cigar Factory in Delphos and then at W.T. Grant Store in Delphos. She was a co-owner of the Bon Ton Bakery on South Main Street in Lima. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Lima.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John Catholic Church, Lima, the Rev. Chris Vasko officiating. Burial will be St. John Cemetery, Delphos.

She was born June 11, 1920, in Allen County, to Ross and Jessie (John) Strayer.
On Oct. 27, 1960, she married Orville L. Unland, who died June 26, 1998.
Survivors include a brother, Lyle Strayer of Delphos.
She was preceded in death by three sister, Avonelle Wilson and Madella and Louise Strayer; and six brothers, LaVern, Griffith, Harold, Russell, Robert and Arnold Strayer.
Mrs. Unland was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and its Star Class.

Russell W. Ledyard
Russell W. Ledyard, 64, of Maumee, died Friday in St. Luke's Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; two sons, Wayne (Dawn) Ledyard of Gomer, and Wade Ledyard of Maumee; a stepson, Jeff (Tracey) Davis of Point Place; a daughter, Theresa (Jeff) Utz of Maumee; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Todd.
Mr. Ledyard was in maintenance at Chrysler Corporation for 23 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of The Lou Diamond Detachment U.S.M.C. League, VFW Post 2984, the Maumee Odd Fellows and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee. Private burial will follow.
Phillip Dudgeon

Phillip D. Dudgeon, 18 months, died Sunday morning at his residence.
He was born Oct. 25, 2001, to Brian and Jennifer (Mullen) Dudgeon. His parents survive in Delphos.

Mary Florene Hyman, 95, of Middle Point, died at 8:40 p.m. Saturday at Lincolnway Nursing Home, Middle Point.
She was born March 19, 1908, in Van Wert County, to Henry P. and Ollie May (Hattery) Hyman.
Survivors include a sister, Ardeth Foley of Atlanta, Ga.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Russell, Wilbur, Joseph and Kenneth Hyman; and two sisters, Verdene Ray and Marcile Cashel.
Ms. Hyman retired in 1968 as supervisor for the Visiting Nurses Services of Indiana. She also served 17 years as a nurse in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of major in the Nurses Corp. She served in World War II and the Korean War, receiving many medals including a Bronze Service Star. She was a member of Disabled American Veterans, the National Retired Officers Association, the Indiana State Nursing Officers Association, the American Nursing Association and Parkview Alumni Association.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, with military graveside services conducted by the combined units of the Van Wert American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts.

She was born April 16, 1918 to Ira Victor and Sophia Mae (Krick) Putman.
On July 7, 1946, she married Harry H. Dupler, who died May 12, 1996.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Dupler of Lima and Cherie Dupler of Swanton; a sister, Rene Stephenson of Lima; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Clifford, Roy and William Putman; and a sister, Bonnie Streets.
Mrs. Dupler worked in food service at Lima City Schools, Edison Elementary, for 15 years. She was a member of Gardendale Church of God.

She was born July 17, 1905, in Liberty Township near Ottawa, to Charles and Golda (Haughn) Mullett.
On Dec. 8, 1928, she married James A. Smith, who died in 1970.
Survivors include a son, John (Donna) Smith of Columbus Grove; two sisters, Barbara Hoyt of Columbus Grove and Ettie Rieman of Kalida; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Edna Debs, Lettie Warden and Irene Bushong; three brothers, Harold, David and George Mullett; and a granddaughter, Debra L. Agner.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church, Columbus Grove, and its Followers Sunday School class. She was also a member of the Ottawa Senior Citizens.

He was born Oct. 27, 1948, in Paulding County, to Charles A. and Geraldine (Kilgore) Goings. His father survives in Van Wert.
On April 20, 1968, he married Marcia L. Kreischer, who also survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors include a son, Brandon Goings of Mentor; three daughters, Holly Goings of Fort Wayne and Camille and Tara Goings of Convoy; a brother, Gene Goings of Van Wert; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Goings was a lifetime farmer and worked at Aeroquip Corp. in Van Wert for 30 years. He was a lifetime member North Union United Methodist Church, Van Wert and a member of the Scott Lions Club.

On June 26, 1994, he married Jennifer Shulaw, who survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include a son, Greg (Melinda) Craddock of Lima; a daughter, Dawn Larimore of Dayton; a stepdaughter, Kassandra Shulaw of Lima; two sisters, Dianne "Dino" Craddock of Lima and Linda K. She was born Dec. 26, 1913, in Bluffton, to David and Bertha (Steiner) Nusbaum.
On Oct. 11, 1935, she married Merlin E. Jones, who died Aug. 18, 1997.
Survivors include a son, Thomas L. (Elaine) Jones of Columbus Grove; two daughters, Jean Ann (Avery) Douglas of Columbus Grove and Sue (LaVerne) Hover of Elida; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Jones; six brothers, Gilbert, Harley, Robert, Elmer, Leonard and an infant; and a sister, Helen.
Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and worked at Kohl's Market in Columbus Grove and at the Bluffton Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton. She had also served on the Allen County Board of Elections. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church, Columbus Grove, and its Ladies Aid Society. She was an avid gardener and sports fan.

She was born May 12, 1917, in Lima, to W. Ray and Ollie (Allemeier) Keller.
On June 5, 1935, she married Richard Howard Mann, who died July 14, 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Miriam (Harold "Butch") Neeper of Lima; a daughter-in-law, Sondra Mann of Lima; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, Richard "Dick" Mann Jr.; and a brother, J. Ray Keller.
Mrs. Mann was a member of Westview United Methodist Church, Lima, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary in Delphos, Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Elkets Bowling League and an honorary member of the Elks Lodge in Lima. She was a 1935 graduate of Elida High School.

John Hammill, 80, of Lima, died at 6:05 p.m. Thursday at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home.
He was born July 22, 1922, in Des Moines, Iowa, to John and Margaret (Olson) Hammill.
On May 12, 1945, he married Luella E. Moenter, who survives in Lima.
Other survivors include two sons, John L. "Jack" (Gena) Hammill and Thomas M. (Lynda) Hammill of Lima; a daughter, Judith M. "Judy" (Joseph) Landwehr of Lima; a sister, Margaret Pantier of Paragould, Ark.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and James Garver.
Mr. Hammill retired as manager of the men's department at Elder Beerman. He had also worked at Blattners and Leader in sales. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Lima, and a former member of its Holy Name Society. He was a former member of the 3rd and 4th degree Knights of Columbus and was a loyal Iowa Hawkeye fan. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Lawrence, Rex, Ralph, John D. and Glenn Scarbrough; a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
Mr. Scarbrough was a farmer and worked in several factories and for the State of Ohio Highway Department. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and enjoyed sports, bowling and horse racing.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas "Sam" Palmer.
Mrs. Basinger was a homemaker and was a teacher in Pandora for 20 years. She and her husband also owned and operated Lake Amanda Club, west of Lima. She was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School and Bluffton College. She was a member of Columbus Grove United Church of Christ, the Lima Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, the Columbus Grove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and American Legion Auxiliary and the Columbus Grove and Lima Eagle's Lodge. She enjoyed water skiing and sewing.

He was born Aug. 9, 1923, in York Township, Van Wert County, to William Henry and Ernestine "Tena" (BeVard) Wilkin.
On June 6, 1942, he married Ruth J. Swartz, who survives.
Survivors also include three sons, John Wayne "Butch" (Trudy) Wilkin of Grover Hill, Larry G. (Carol) Wilkin of Van Wert and Roger Lynn Wilkin of Middle Point; two daughters, Lyla Kay (James) Caris and Joyce A. (Ron) Welk of Paulding; a sister, Anna E. Buettner of Van Wert; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Sylvester Wilkin; and a sister, Ruby G. Rager.
Mr. Wilkin was employed for 33 years at General Motors Central Foundry, Defiance, retiring in 1981. He also operated a grocery store with his wife in Wetzel for 15 years and owned and trained race horses for 40 years. He was a 1941 graduate of York High School, and a member of UAW Local 211, Van Wert County Harness Horse Association, United State Trotting Association; Ohio Harness Horsemen Association and the Indiana Standard Breed Association.

George B. Lybarger, 48, of rural Spencerville, died at 7:05 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 30, 1954 in Lima, to Roger O. and Grace Marie (Alspaugh Dorsten) Lybarger. His stepfather, Olan "Bill" Wilkerson, survives in Spencerville.
On April 20, 1974, he married Sandra "Sandy" Lee Parsons, who survives.
Other survivors include a son, Roger E. Lybarger of Spencerville; a daughter, Melissa Lynn Lybarger of Spencerville; and two brothers, Wilson J. "Joe" (Treda) Dorsten of Spencerville and Eugene S. (Diana) Wilkerson of Ada.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William "Bill" Lee Wilkerson.
Mr. Lybarger was employed at Spencerville Schools as a custodian and had also worked at Fruehauf Corp. in Delphos for 12 years, and at the Re-Lom Division of Flexible Foam Products in Spencerville for four years. He was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Christian Union Church, north of Buckland, where he served on the official board, pastoral committee and was a trustee. He attended Spencerville High School and earned his GED while in the Army at the Anchorage Community College in Alaska. He was a member of the American Legion Post 191 of Spencerville and the Eagles Lodge Aerie 691 in Wapakoneta. He had been active in Cub Scouting, formerly serving as Cub Master of Spencerville Pack 2. He enjoyed hunting.

He was born April 24, 1919, in York Township, Van Wert County, to Emery and Lola (Heist) Fisher.
On Sept. 15, 1945, he married Ada H. Tewell, who survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Nelson (Diana) Fisher and Norman (Martha) Fisher of Wapakoneta, and Nolan (Christine) Fisher of St. Paris; three daughters, Phyllis (Edward) Goodson of Lima, Alexa Tippie of St. Marys, and Joyce Fisher of Spencerville; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Fisher was a long-time farmer and worked as a welder at Gramm Trailer, Fruehauf Corp. in Delphos, and retired from New Idea Corp. in Coldwater. He was a member of Kossuth-Zion United Methodist Church and was a graduate of York High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre. He received the Bronze Star and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

On Feb. 14, 1987, he married Janice A. "Jan" Foust, who survives in Lima.
Other survivors include two sons, Johnny Ray Foust and Dennis Dean (Elizabeth) Foust of Delphos; two daughters, Julia Lynn Craig of Delphos and Beth Ann (Eugene) Maag of Fort Jennings; a stepson, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Backus of 29 Palms, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Michelle "Shelly" Holland and Laura Backus of Lima; 17 grandchildren, Amanda (Derrick) Coil, Jessica Cooper, Brock Ellis, Cassandra Foust, Derek Foust, Crystal Keyton, Shane Rae Foust, Jon Holland, Marcus Backus, Shanin Holland, Kyle Holland, Angelica Foust, Joren Backus, Jarrett Backus, Destyne Backus, Zachary Foust and Alyssia Foust; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Dean Foust.
Mr. Foust was employed at Accubuilt in Lima and had worked at Superior Coach and Sheller Globe. He was a member of the Lima Eagles Aerie 370, the Portland, Ind., Moose Lodge 417 and Garden City Christian Union Church in Lima. He enjoyed camping, visiting flea markets and traveling.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Harter and Son Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Russ Thomson officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
