Irene C. "Rene" Mackey, 79, of Ottawa, died at 9:10 p.m. Monday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born April 8, 1924, in Columbus Grove, to Barney and Elizabeth (Selhorst) Sager.
On Feb. 16, 1946, she married James E. Mackey, who died Nov. 30, 1997.
Survivors include a son, Bernard (Brenda) Mackey of Ada; two daughters, Teresa (Dave) Lammers of Ottawa and Deb (Nick) Schulte of Kalida; a sister, Josephine Bockey of Delphos; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Mackey; a sister, Clara Miller; a brother, Ed Sager; and a granddaughter.
Mrs. Mackey retired after 30 years from Philips in Ottawa. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, Lima Eagles Auxiliary 370 and the Neighborhood Pinochle Club for 50 years.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Rev. Tom Hemm officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Columbus Grove.

Valeria Siefker, 93, of Delphos, died at 3:35 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Manor in Glandorf.
She was born May 25, 1910, in Ottoville, to Anthony and Bernadine (Perrin) Clementz.
On Sept. 30, 1931, she married Joseph A. Siefker, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Donald (Shirley) Siefker of Fort Jennings, Gerald "Jerry" Siefker of Delphos and Joseph (Kathleen) Siefker of Elida; two daughters, Alma (Harold) Carpenter of Ottawa and Ann Daughtery of Del Rio, Texas; a brother, Frank (Helen) Clementz of Ottoville; 18 grandchildren, Steven, Paul, Mark, John, Timothy, Michael, Jerry Jr., Bill and Scott Siefker, Lisa Thompson, Rick, Norm, Dale and Larry Carpenter, JoAnna Klause, Lorie Ditto, Andrea Early and Adam Daughtery; 31 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Louis, Eugene and Joe Clementz; a sister, Josephine Bockrath; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Siefker.
Mrs. Siefker was a homemaker. She was a life member of Ottawa Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9142 Auxiliary, a member of Catholic Ladies of the Columbias Council 84 in Landeck, the Delphos Eagles Auxiliary 417 and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She loved to make noodles, bread, afghans, rugs and quilts, canning, playing cards and visiting with people.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Cletus H. Schuerman
July 4, 1916 - June 20, 2003
Cletus H. Schuerman, 86, of Fort Jennings, died at 7:50 a.m. Friday at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born July 4, 1916, in Fort Jennings, to Joseph A. and Lucy (Krieger) Schuerman.
On Feb. 13, 1954, he married Mary A. Bracker, who survives in Fort Jennings.
Survivors also include a son, Michael V. (Deb) Schuerman of Fort Jennings; two daughters, Marsha (Carl) Schimmoeller of Fort Jennings and Carol (James) Collins of Sylvania; and seven grandchildren, Eric and Amy Schimmoeller, Samuel and Jacob Schuerman, Ross Stant and Jessica and Sara Collins.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Krietemeyer, Regina Schuerman and Marie Preston; and two brothers, Vincent and Frederick Schuerman.
Mr. Schuerman was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Jennings, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fort Jennings, with military graveside services conducted by the Fort Jennings American Legion.

Becky McCauley

Becky Lynn McCauley, 51, of Spencerville, formerly of Delphos, died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born Sept. 13, 1951, in Delphos, to Melvin L. and Lillian V. (Dunifon) Clark. Her father survives in Delphos.
On Dec. 31, 1979, she married Mark McCauley.
Other survivors include a sister, Della (Clair) Lucas of Fort Jennings; and four brothers, Ernest Clark of Bryan, Melvin Clark of Lima, John H. (Lucille) Clark of Wren and Frederick J. (Sandra) Clark of Cridersville.
She was preceded in death by three infant nephews.
Mrs. McCauley was a homemaker and college student. She attended Pike Mennonite Church of Elida and was an avid supporter of "Right to Life." She was attending Ohio State University and was two classes away from earning an English degree. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting and all crafts. She also loved animals, especially her dog, Edward, and bird, Duffy.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Harter and Son Funeral Home, the Rev. Darwin Hartman officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Betty Friemoth

Betty Lou Friemoth, 76, of Delphos, died at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday at Roselawn Manor, Spencerville.
She was born Oct. 3, 1926, in Delphos, to Alva and Lucille (Best) Wollet.
She had been married to William Turnwald Jr., who died in April 1945 in World War II. On May 14, 1949, she married Elmer Friemoth, who survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include a son, Mike (Kathy) Friemoth of Delphos; two daughters, Joyce (Mike) Wilson of Plant City, Fla., and Linda (John) Huffman of Delphos; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Friemoth of Middle Point; three sisters, Margie (Hubert) Truman, Marlene (Tom) Hoak and Donna (Dick) Maloney of Delphos; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Friemoth; a daughter, Jean Ann (Friemoth) Crumrine; two sisters, Claudine Dotson and Ruth Ashbaugh; and a brother, Carl Wollett.
Mrs. Friemoth worked at Pangle’s for 18 years and was the owner of El-Bee Ceramics. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a former member of the Delphos Lioness Club. She enjoyed fishing, camping and crafts.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Rinda June Williams, 59, of Convoy, died Thursday morning at her residence.
She was born June 2, 1944 in Vancouver, Wash., to Oliver and Juanita V. (Hinton) Moore.
On Oct. 22, 1977, she married Benjamin R. Williams, Sr., who survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Richard J. Busch of Van Wert, Billy L. (Sara) Busch of Decatur, Ind., and Benjamin Ray Williams, Jr., of Convoy; two daughters, Terri K. (Patrick) Rauch of Decatur, and Crystal V. (Brian) Hill of Middlepoint; two brothers, John T. (Charlotte) Moore of Indiana, and David O. Moore and Karen Rostorfer of Delphos; four sisters, Billie V. (Frank) Williams of Queen Creek, Ariz., Marian Jean (Lawrence) Hart of Middle Point, Sharon A. (Eugene) Lause of Delphos, and Debra Moore of Virginia; 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by Paula Busch.
Mrs. Williams was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethlehem Tabernacle, Van Wert.

Linus "Pete" Vetter, 80, of Fort Jennings, died at 2:27 a.m. Thursday at his residence.
He was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Antwerp, to Herman and Kathryn (Busch) Vetter.
On May 11, 1946, he married Mary Lou Sellet, who survives in Fort Jennings.

Mr. Vetter was founder of the L.P. Vetter Builders Supply, and for more than 50 years he brought Santa Claus to Fort Jennings. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and American Legion Post 715 of Fort Jennings, the Ottoville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3740, the Delphos Country Club, Sun Air Country Club in Haines City, Fla., the Ohio Ready Mix Concrete Association and the Ohio Lumberman’s Association. He was an Army Staff Sergeant in World War II.

Thomas J. Schimmoeller, 73, of Ottawa, died at 11:59 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
He was born July 27, 1929, in Fort Jennings, to Edward and Veronica (Kaverman) Schimmoeller.
On April 28, 1956, he married Alma Honigfort, who survives in Ottawa.
Other survivors include five sons, Alan (Dawn) Schimmoeller, Kevin Schimmoeller and Dale Schimmoeller of Ottawa, Edward Schimmoeller of Columbus Grove and Peter (Donna) Schimmoeller of Richfield; five daughters, Joan (Gary) Wilson of Continental, Irene (Stanley) Johns of Findlay, Lisa (Gary) Vorst of Kalida and Paula Schimmoeller and Amy (James) Williams of Hilliard; two brothers, Philip Schimmoeller of Ottoville and Donald (Coletta) Schimmoeller of Fort Jennings; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Alfred "Jack" Schimmoeller; and a sister, Ruth Perrin.
Mr. Schimmoeller retired after 42 years in maintenance at Philips Display Components, Ottawa. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, where he was a Mass server, Eucharistic minister, usher and member of the cemetery board; IBEW; Ottawa Eagles Aerie 2234, where he had been treasurer and chaplain; a life member of the Amvets and American Legion Post 63, where he served as chaplain and public relations person; a social member of the Ottawa Veterans of Foreign Wars Post; member of Boy Scout Troop 224, as well as its treasurer and was a committeeman and former Scout Master and Pack Leader. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

George T. Corrello, 89, of Delphos, died at 11:01 a.m. Wednesday at Lima Convalescent Home.
He was born Nov. 1, 1913, in Muncie, Ind., to Carl A. and Alice (Doolittle) Corrello.
He married Dorothy Reed, who died Jan. 24, 1995.
Survivors include a son, Carl G. (Mary) Corrello of Danbury, Conn.; three sisters, Margaret Werking, Thelma Johnston and Norma Baker of Lima; two brothers, Carl E. Corrello of Lima and Gene Corrello of Florida; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Chester Corrello; and a sister, Mary Armstrong.
Mr. Corrello worked as an inspector for the State Highway Department. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Van Wert, and the Central Committee Republican Party in Van Wert. He served in the U.S. Marines in the South Pacific during World War II from Dec. 23, 1943 until May 22, 1945.

Joseph J. Elwer, 85, of Delphos, died at 6:30 a.m. today at Vancrest Health Care Center.
He was born Feb. 4, 1918 in Allen County, to Albinus and Theresa (Wrasman) Elwer.
On May 16, 1942, he married Viola Fischer, who died Jan. 7, 2001.
Survivors include 10 children, Marilyn (Will) Roll of Middletown, Calif., Jane (Dan) Rupert of Lima, Angela (Thomas) Arnett of Wapakoneta, Rosella (Dennis) Hedrick, Margie (Dave) Ostendorf, Herman (Barb) Elwer, Kenneth (Karen) Elwer and Norman Elwer of Delphos, Regina (Arthur) Nadrasik of Toledo and Karen (Mark) Hohlbein of Lima; two sisters, Rita (Omar) Pothast and Beatrice Fisher of Delphos; a brother, Richard Elwer of Delphos; 24 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Elwer was a farmer, retiring two years ago. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and was a former 4-H adviser. He was on the board of directors at German Mutual and United Equity Elevator and a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, where he had been active visiting the sick. He was an avid collector of John Deere tractors.

She was born Oct. 29, 1913, in Landeck, to Joseph and Emma (Adang) Topp.
On June 6, 1933, she married Clarence J. Elwer, who died Sept. 2, 1982.
Survivors include two sisters, Lucille Siebert of Spencerville and Clara Carder of Delphos; a brother, Donald "Tony" Topp of Celina; five grandchildren, Kevin Jerome Elwer and Kim Bendetti of Jacksonville, Fla., Kelly Joseph Elwer and Kristy Obermeyer-Bliss Virginia Beach, Va., and Kay Nichols of Naples, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren, Justin, Jeremy, Ashley, Chelsea, Joshua and Jenna.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerome Henry and Ralph Joseph Elwer; and three brothers, Robert, Herman and Eugene Topp.
Mrs. Elwer had worked at Myers Cleaners in Delphos. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Catholic Ladies of Columbia Council 40, of Delphos, and Catholic Knights of Ohio Branch 76, Landeck, where she received her 50-year gold rosary in 1987.

Don E. Prichard, 82, of Van Wert, formerly of Ohio City, died at 12:39 p.m. Tuesday at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born Sept. 7, 1920, in Mercer County, to John and Grace (High) Prichard.
On July 24, 1943, he married Eleanor Tickle, who survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Debra Sue (Wayne) Matthews of Ohio City and Carol Ann (Randy) Braun of Pleasant Lake, Mich.; a brother, Max (Margaret) Prichard of Van Wert; three sisters, Thelma (Rex) Custer of New Haven, Ind., Mary Lue (Ned) Krugh of Ohio City and Ardyth (James) Bennett of Sun City, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nedra Kay; and three brothers, Dale, Wilbur and Von Prichard.
Mr. Prichard retired in 1980 after 25 years as a rural mail carrier in Ohio City. He was a member of Ohio City United Methodist Church, the Van Wert County Good Sam Camping Club, a life member of Disabled American Veterans and a former member of the Ohio City Post, American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving at the Battle of the Bulge.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Cowan and Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, Pastors Mike Waldron and Steve Waterman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, with military graveside services conducted.

Ruth V. Swartz, 80, of Delphos, died at 11:25 p.m. Monday at Vancrest Health Care Center.
She was born May 30, 1923, to John Milton Berryhill and Stella (Smith) Berryhill Carmean.
On July 12, 1941, she married Walter E. Swartz, who died Nov. 30, 1989.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene (Gerald "Butch") Teman of Delphos and Sheryl (Pastor James) Menke of Elida; two sisters, Mildred Dudgeon of Edgewater, Fla., and Goldie Hurlbert of Ada; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Jean Krugh; three brothers, Raymond, Leo and Lloyd Berryhill; three sisters, Mary Allene Bauer, Flossie Miller and Charlotte Amstutz; a grandchild, David J. Menke; and a great-grandchild, Caleb Recker.
Mrs. Swartz was a homemaker and owner of the WICK Craft Store in Delphos. She also taught Sunday school at First Assembly of God Church, where she also played the organ. She was a member of New Hope Christian Center in Elida and had attended Middle Point High School. She enjoyed teaching crafts, ceramics, candle making, cake decorating and playing the organ.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at New Hope Christian Center, the Rev. Jim Menke officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Eugene H. Siefker, 69, of Delphos, died early Monday afternoon at his residence.
He was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Allen County, to John and Wilma (Landwehr) Siefker.
Survivors include a sister, Joan (Gilbert) Schulte of Fort Jennings; and two brothers, Kenneth (Alice) Siefker of Metamora and Robert (LaDonna) Siefker of Delphos.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Siefker.
Mr. Siefker worked at the Cigar Factory for 15 years and at KP Industry for 27 years as janitor.

She was born Feb. 6, 1919, in Logan County, to Darwin and Eva (Clark) Sprague.
She married Louis Mann, who died July 19, 1985.
Survivors include a son, Carl (Virginia) Mann of Dayton; a sister, Maxine Herring of Sidney; a brother, Warren (Zelna) Sprague of Jackson Center; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Mann; three brothers, Wilbur, Robert and Homer Sprague; and two sisters, Grace Sprague and Pauline Bell.
Mrs. Mann was manager of several shoe stores and was a homemaker. Karl J. Pohlman, 47, of Delphos, died in the early morning hours of June 7 at his residence.
He was born Sept. 18, 1955, in Delphos, to Arthur A. and Rosemary (Burgei) Pohlman. His father died Dec. 23, 1959, and his mother survives in Delphos.
He married Donna L. Miller, who also survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include a son, Anthony Pohlman of Delphos; two daughters, Lindsay and Jessica Pohlman of Delphos; and a brother, Dennis L. (Rita M.) Pohlman of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a son, Levi Pohlman.
Mr. Pohlman was owner and operator of KP Builders/Karl’s Construction. He was an assistant Scout Master with Boy Scouts, and enjoyed working with wood and the outdoors. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a 1974 graduate of St. John’s.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Robert J. Truesdale, 78, of Spencerville, died at 3 a.m. Sunday at his son’s residence.
He was born May 22, 1925, in Elida, to Raymond and Ida Mae (Moorman) Truesdale.
Survivors include a son, Dennis C. (Rhonda) Truesdale of Spencerville; two daughters, Marsha L. (Robert) Elling and Brenda J. (Rollin) Kill of Spencerville; special friend, Betty Sawmiller of Spencerville; a brother, Kenneth Truesdale of Spencerville; two sisters, Bernice (Stanley) Place of Creswell and Patricia (Rex) Place of Wapakoneta; two brothers-in-law, Harry Blockberger and Ed Moorman of Spencerville; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother Garnerd Truesdale; and two sisters, Virginia Blockberger and Irene Moorman.
Mr. Truesdale retired in 1989 from Aircraft Dynamics in Elida, as a sheet metal fabricator. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a life member of Bowersock Bros. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6773 and American Legion Post 191, Spencerville, where he was also a past commander. He was also a member of Eagles Aerie 471, Delphos, and a life member of Northwest Field and Stream, Spencerville. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Spencerville Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the VFW and American Legion posts.

James Matthew "Matt" Phillips, 24, of Lima, died at 12:18 p.m. Friday at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
He was born Oct. 30, 1978, in Lima, to David E. and Janelle K. (Huff) Phillips. His father survives in Lima.
Other survivors include a brother, Mark D. Phillips of Lima; three stepbrothers, Kyle, Paul and Ryan Lowry of Bluffton; a sister, Nicole L. (Chris) Boyed, of Minot, N.D.; his stepmother, Carol J. Phillips; extended family, Dennis and Susan Piehl, Scott Piehl and Jeremy, and Justin Higby; paternal grandmother, Hilda Phillips of Lima; paternal grandfather, Haskell Conley of Harrod; and girlfriend, MaryKay Dickman of Delphos.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Phylis Conley; and maternal grandparents, Loyd and Naomi Huff.
Mr. Phillips was an associate at DTR Industries, Bluffton. He was a member of Lima Baptist Temple and a 1997 graduate of Temple Christian High School. He was an avid truck enthusiast and member of the Extreme Off-road Truck Club.

Cyrillus L. Smith, 72, of Kalida, died at 2:40 p.m. Thursday at his residence.
He was born Feb. 12, 1931, in Kalida, to Anthony and Magdelena (Schroeder) Smith.
On Nov. 16, 1954, he married Dorothy Nartker, who survives in Kalida.
Other survivors include four sons, Ron (Jean) Smith, Stan (Joan) Smith and Chuck (Sharon) Smith of Kalida and Jeff "Bo" (Jeanne) Smith of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Joyce (Reed) Herdman of West Chester and Lisa (Tony) Kaverman of Fort Jennings; two brothers, Leonard Smith of Delphos and Thomas (Dorothy) Smith of Fort Jennings; four sisters, Martha Fuerst and Ester (Ray) Halker of Columbus Grove, Norma (Tom) Kurley of Shelby and Florence (Thomas) Freeman of Kalida; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Gilbert, Robert and Edward Smith; and one sister, Mary Brown.
Mr. Smith retired from Ford Motor Company, Lima, and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida, and its Holy Name Society. He was also a member of Kalida Fish and Game.

Mildred Rozelle, 83, of Delphos, died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at Plus Health Care in Lima.
She was born July 12, 1919, in Johnstown, Colo., to Jens and Martina (Jensen) Frederiksen.
On Aug. 20, 1943, she married Paul F. Rozelle, who died March 30, 1964.
Survivors include two sons, Jack (Dorothy) Rozelle of State College, Penn., and Gerald (Patricia) Rozelle of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Joyce I. Rozelle of Centerville, Va.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Mrs. Rozelle worked for Allen County Council on Aging, at Scherger Monument, Sheeter Auto Sales and as a secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church. She was also a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Eastern Star 26 Pythian Sisters and was on the board of directors at the Delphos Senior Citizen Center from 1987 to 1993, serving as vice president from 1987 to 1991. She was a graduate of Mead High School in Colorado and Colorado Women’s College.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church, the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

George Meeks Jr., 80, of Clarendon Township, formerly of Delphos, died Monday at Hillsdale Community Health Center, Litchfield, Mich.
He was born June 28, 1922 in Delphos, to George and Lucinda May (Johnson) Meeks Sr.
He married Pauline B. DeWitt, who preceded him in death in 1984.
Survivors include three sons, Gary (Brenda) Meeks and Lonnie Meeks of Lima and George Meeks of Tennessee; two daughters, Sally (Herman) Marshall of Tekonsha, Mich., and Bonnie Meeks of Delphos; two sisters, Marie Miller and Mary K. Closson of Delphos; a brother, Benny Meeks of Middle Point; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Meeks.
Mr. Meeks was employed as a bus driver in Lima. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Lee Himmeger
Aug. 2, 1933 - June 3, 2003
B. Lee Himmeger, 69, of Delphos, died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 2, 1933, in Delphos, to Clarence S. and Charlotte (Weathers) Himmeger.
In 1952, he married Billie Jo Brittingham, who survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include two sons, Bernie (Marla) Himmeger of Grove City and Brad (Stephanie) Himmeger of Hilliard; two daughters, Jody (Thomas) Gorman of Brighton, Mich., and Julie Thompson of Lewis Center; two sisters, Evelyn (Don) Weideman and Helen (Bill) Mullenhour of Delphos; a brother, Earl (Martina) Himmeger of Belle Center; and six grandchildren, Rachel, David, Elizabeth, Jacob and Carter Himmeger and Taylor Thompson.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Himmeger.
Mr. Himmeger had been a teacher for 34 years. During that time he served as principal at Ayersville for 12 years, athletic director for 23 years and summer program supervisor for 24 years. He also taught at Upper Sandusky for eight years and Zanesville for two years. He also coached basketball for 33 years and made three trips to the State Championship Class A and won twice. He coached baseball for 23 years, track for 10 years, tennis for four years and golf for seven years. He retired in June of 1990.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Delphos Eagles Lodge. He was a 1952 graduate of Jefferson High School where he lettered in baseball, basketball, football and track. He achieved 1,000 points in his career. He then attended Findlay College, where he played basketball and went to the NAIA Basketball Tournament twice. For his lifetime commitment to his basketball coaching career, he was a member of the District 7 Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame, 2001 Hancock County Hall of Fame, 1998 Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame, 1982 Dapper Dan Classic Coach, 1972 Findlay Hall of Fame, 1962 and 1977 North/South All-Star Coach, 1961 and 1962 Ohio Class A Coach of the Year and was president of the OHSACA from 1966 until 1968, District 7 director for eight years in basketball, a football official for 20 years and district secretary for 12 years.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Lester "Pete" Imler, 78, of rural Spencerville, died Tuesday afternoon at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 29, 1925, in Spencerville, to Dewey and Mabel (Taylor) Imler.
On June 22, 1947, he married Dorothy M. Baer, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Terry J. (Robin) Imler of Marietta Ga., and Toby J. (Nyla) Imler of Rochert, Minn.; a brother, Cole (Ardeen) Imler of Spencerville; a sister, Peggy (Joe) Rapp of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother-in-law, Homer Bell of Spencerville; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Bell.
Mr. Imler retired after 40 years as a tool and die maker at Hayes-Albion/Trim Trends Corp. in Spencerville, and enjoyed farming and remodeling houses, which he was doing until the time of his death. He was a member of Lima Seventh Day Adventist Church for nearly 60 years, where he had been head elder and member of its school board and building committee. He was a 1943 graduate of Spencerville High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marines, serving from 1943 to 1945 in the Pacific Islands of Pelilu Okinawa and the Marshall Islands. He was a life member of Bowersock Bros. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Rev. Don Byard officiating. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the Spencerville VFW and American Legion posts.

Vincent C. Klima, 77, of Delphos, died at 10:45 a.m. Monday at Vancrest Health Care Center.
He was born Sept. 26, 1925, in Ottoville, to Wenzel and Emma (Martin) Klima.
On Aug. 20, 1946, he married Ladonna A. Clement, who survive in Delphos.
Other survivors include a son, Charles W. (Mariana) Klima of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Diane Van Horn of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Leonard (Ruth) Klima of Ottoville; a sister, Katie Simmons of Lima; 10 grandchildren, Shelly Carmean, Sandy Klaus, Summer Richey, Rick Van Horn, Greg Van Horn, Bill Van Horn, Katie Dickens, Kourtney Klima, Kacee Klima and Kingsley Klima; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Spieles and Sally Klausing; two brothers, William and Anthony Klima; two sisters-in-law, Margaret and Fredona Klima; and three brothers-in-law, Ray Spieles, Louis Klausing and Gene Simmons.
Mr. Klima retired from farming in 1974 and from quality control at Fruehauf in 1984. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 1362, and a life member of American Legion Post 268, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3035, Disabled American Veterans, American Ex-Prisoners of War, Ohio Farmers Union and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II, where he was captured by the Germans during the Battle of the Bulge. He enjoyed boating, camping, playing cards and jigsaw puzzles.

She was born July 21, 1919, in Morgantown, W.Va., to William P. and Chleo Virginia (Wolfe) Hinton.
She married Oliver Marion Moore, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, David O. (Karen Rostorfer) Moore of Delphos and John T. (Charlotte) Moore of Indiana; five daughters, Billie V. (Frank) Williams of Arizona, Marion "Jean" (Lawrence) Hart of Middle Point, Rinda J. (Ben) Williams of Convoy, Sharon A. (Eugene) Lause of Delphos and Debra R. Moore of Virginia; a brother, Jay Hinton of Indiana; 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ezra, Eugene and William P. Hinton Jr.; a sister, Wynona "Nonie" Fisher; and five grandchildren.

She was born Aug. 15, 1923 in Kalida, to Perry A. and Golden Xenia (Little) Good.
On June 21, 1947, she married Billy E. McKinley, who died Jan. 30, 1986.
Survivors include five daughters, Barbara A. (John) Wilson, Sandra S. (Ken) Stout, Pamela J. (Steven) Casemier and Connie L. (Edwin) Hardesty of Spencerville; and Diana K. "Dee" (Rick Wittler) Fox of Columbia City, Ind.; three sisters, Colleen McKanna of Lima and Ruth Barnes and Donna (Lewis) Metzger of Spencerville; a brother, Perry "Mick" (Dixie) Good Jr., of Fort Jennings; a brother-in-law, Chet Shank of Michigan.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Shank, Maxine Good and Pauline Roberts.
Mrs. McKinley was a homemaker and had worked at Jack’s Cafeteria in Lima and The Busy Bee and Little Place Restaurant in Spencerville. She was a member of Monticello United Brethren Church of Christ and the Harry J. Reynolds American Legion Post 191 Auxiliary.

She was born Feb. 4, 1909 in Delphos, to David and Lucy (Suever) Niemeyer.
On Aug. 26, 1931, she married Ralph J. Horstman, who survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include two sons, Kenneth Horstman of Fort Wayne, and John (Pamela) Horstman of Delphos; two daughters, Mary Jo (Paul) Broecker of Fort Jennings and Margaret (Frank) Moyano of Fort Wayne; a sister, Isabelle Schimmoeller of Delphos; two brothers, Arnold Niemeyer of Kalida and Norbert Niemeyer of Florida; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Lois Baxter; three brothers, Alphonse, Bernard and Jerome Niemeyer; and two sisters, Mary Ellen and Viola Niemeyer.
Mrs. Horstman was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and its Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 371 Auxiliary in Delphos and American Legion Auxiliary in Fort Jennings. She enjoyed playing bingo on Saturday nights.

Charles Leonard Wilkerson, 89, of Lima, died at 5 a.m. Friday at his residence.
He was born July 26, 1913, in Rockport, to Orville and Estella Mae (VanMeter) Wilkerson.
On Sept. 3, 1938, he married Edith LaDonna Striff, who died May 21, 2000.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Gene (Shirley) Wilkerson of Elida; a daughter, Carla Jean (Gerald Sr.) Hawk of Lima; a brother, Olan "Bill" Wilkerson of Spencerville; two sisters-in-law, June Miller of Delphos and Juanita Hawk of Lima; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Haver, Irene Gardner and Lola Yenichek.
Mr. Wilkerson retired in 1970. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275, Lima, and Eagles Aerie 691, Wapakoneta. He enjoyed bowling and golf. He served in the Army during World War II.

He was born March 30, 1931 in Delphos, to Charles Wesley and Jessie Bell (Follas) Sterling.
He married Margaret (Hilvers) Sterling, who survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include a sister, Mary (Ed) Rigdon of Venedocia; four brothers, Lonnie (Jeannette) Sterling, Nick (Phyllis) Sterling and George (Etta) Sterling of Delphos and Frank (Lee) Sterling of California; a granddaughter, Kathy Lindeman of Delphos; and two great-grandsons, Damien Lindeman and Zack Dudgeon of Delphos.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Lindeman; and three brothers, Vernon, Lewis and Ray Sterling.
Mr. Sterling worked for Harter Corporation, Van Wert, for 32 years. He was a member of Delphos Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3035 and Delphos Eagles Aerie 371. He was an extensive wood worker and enjoyed gardening.

On Dec. 31, 1976, she married Dennis E. Schneider, who survives in Lima.
Survivors also include two sons, Douglas Henderson of Dayton and Edward Schneider of Columbus; two daughters, Sally Schneider of Lima and Jennifer Henderson of Miamisburg; three sisters, Candace (Ted) Ansel and Melody Ann (Everett) Gay of Lima and Mona (Eric) Henderson of Michigan; three brothers, Michael Henderson of Fort Wayne, James "Jimmy" Henderson of Findlay and Jeffery Gaskins of Lima; two stepsisters, June Buttles Freeman and Joy Freeman of Findlay; three stepbrothers, Gordon Freeman, Grant Freeman and George "Pork" Freeman of Findlay; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Charles "Tiny" Gaskin; two stepbrothers, Geoff and Greg Freeman; a step sister, Jan Freeman Dietz; and a nephew, Jeremy Gay.
Mrs. Schneider worked at Colonial Laundry as an attendant. She had also worked at Clark Gas Station on North Street, Perry’s Pantry and 7-11 on Robb Avenue. She attended Southside Christian Church, was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 Auxiliary, and a member of the Monday Night Bowling League "Middlers" at 20th Century Bowling Lanes.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, the Rev. Keith Hamblin officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where a VFW Auxiliary service will be at 8 tonight.
