Edward F. Fetzer, 53, of Lima, died at 7:50 p.m. June 27 at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born July 13, 1949, in Lima, to Orby J. and Lucille B. (Alder) Fetzer. Survivors include two brothers, James C. (Betty) Alder and Benny W. (Cheryl) Alder of Lima; a sister, Elgene Best of Dayton; six nieces and nephews, Lori Alder Powers, Lisa Alder Patton, Mike Alder, Beth Fetzer Rice, Jill Fetzer, Joe Fetzer; and three great-nieces and a great-nephew. Mr. Fetzer was a motion picture projectionist and an avid movie buff. He was a member of First Christian Union Church, Delphos, where he taught Sunday school. A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday at First Christian Union Church, the Rev. Ron Drage officiating. Siferd Funeral Home, Westwood Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

Stephen J. Donley

Stephen J. Donley, 53, of Lima, died at 12:50 p.m. Sunday at his residence. He was born Sept. 11, 1949, in Lima, to Clayton and Mary Ann (Hohenbrink) Donley. On Dec. 20, 1986, he married Debbie Harter, who survives in Lima. Survivors also include two sons, Jeramie and Alex Donley of Lima; two daughters, Angela Donley of Lima and Amber Donley of Cleveland; a brother, Nick (Jayne) Donley of Lima; a sister, Susan (David) Fritz of Carson City, Nev.; a brother-in-law, Pete (Linda) Harter of Lima; a sister-in-law, Dian Harter of Maryland; a niece Debbie LaRose; and four grandchildren. Mr. Donley was an operator for Shell Oil Company. He was a 1967 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Loyalty Council 2661 and Eagles Aerie 370. He was a strong supporter of LCC athletics. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Siferd Westwood Chapel, Lima, the Revs. George Blasick and Douglas Adams officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Evelyn Fern Armstrong

Evelyn Fern Armstrong, 86, of Elida, died at 7 a.m. Sunday at her residence. She was born Sept. 10, 1916, in Vinton, Iowa, to Howard and Clara (Krogstad) Mack. On Oct. 15, 1945, she married Ollie F. "Jack" Armstrong, who died Dec. 15, 1986. Survivors include a son, Larry Jack (Barbara) Armstrong of Delphos; two daughters, Carol Evelyn (James) Miller of Elida and Sandra Sue (Ted) Wienken of Delphos; a sister, Hazel Meyer of Lancaster, Ca.; two brothers, Kenneth Mack of Perry, Iowa, and Everett (Evelyn) Mack of Colorado Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Armstrong was a middle school teacher in the Delphos Public and Iowa schools. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Delphos, and attended Immanuel Methodist Church in Elida. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Lima and a recipient of the "Who's Who Award" in education. She was a graduate of Vinton High School and Upper Iowa University. She enjoyed traveling and playing bingo. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel United Methodist Church, the Rev. Gary Rode officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Harter and Son Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society.

Robert W. Heyser

Robert W. "Bob" Heyser, 79, of Delphos, died at 10:20 a.m. Thursday at Vancrest Health Care Center. He was born Oct. 26, 1923, in Delphos, to Oscar and Florence (Banzhaf) Heyser. On June 18, 1960, he married Lola M. Vasquez, who died Nov. 28, 1992. Survivors include a sister, Patricia Patton of Delphos; a niece, Pamala (Patton) Meyer of New Mexico; three great-nieces, Kimberly Page, Heather Meyer and Amanda Meyer; a great-nephew, Jason Meyer; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Doc Vasquez, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Vasquez, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Vasquez, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vasquez, Mr. and Mrs. Lazzie Vasquez and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zink; godchild James Wickline; and close friends, Lawrence and Rosie Hilvers of Delphos and Keith Hilvers, Sherry Etzkorn and Beverly Maag. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Orin and Russel Heyser; and a sister, Madona Heyser. Mr. Heyser worked at the Lima Tank Plant and Neon in Lima, and New Delphos Manufacturing. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a Cincinnati Reds and Notre Dame fan. Graveside services were 11 a.m. today in St. John Cemetery, the Rev. Thomas Gorman officiating. Arrangements were by Harter and Son Funeral Home. Preferred memorials are to the church or St. John's schools.

Anna L. Odenweller, 84, of Ottoville, died at 2:55 a.m. Thursday at her residence. She was born Jan. 19, 1919, in Ottoville, to William M. and Eleanor (Lochtefeld) Otte. On Nov. 30, 1939, she married Eugene A. Odenweller, who survives in Ottoville. Other survivors include four children, Lenore A. Knepper of Leipsic, Howard (Pam) Odenweller and Mark G. (Deanna) Odenweller of Ottoville and Jennifer M. (Tom) Rekart of Delphos; a sister, Ruth Eickholt of Delphos; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Paul Odenweller; son-in-law, Kenneth Knepper; and two sisters, Ethel Fischer and Mildred King. Mrs. Odenweller was a homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Rev. Tony Borgia officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Ottoville. Bonnie K. Schutte, 74, of Lima, died at 6:35 p.m. Sunday at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born Jan. 16, 1929, in Lexington, Ky., to Olice and Beatrice (Davis) Barnes. On June 15, 1974, she married Jack W. Schutte, who survives. Other survivors include seven daughters, Barbara (Harold) Pickett of Lexington, Joyce (Ron) Taylor of Westerville, Lillian Coy of Humble, Texas, Janice Schutte of Detroit, Mich., Alice Fuerst of Bucyrus, Jenny (Ernie) Numbers of Cridersville and Sandy (Jim) McCann of Delphos; 20 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Schutte was the previous co-owner of Schutte's Lamp Supply. She was a member of Union Chapel Missionary Church. Wanda Clapp Schneider, 74, of Delphos, died 1:35 p.m. Aug. 6 at Lima Manor. She was born Nov. 29, 1928 in Versailles, to Forrest and Mary Alice (Biddle) Brown. On May 22, 1946, she married Marion "Bill" Clapp, who is deceased. On July 5, 1975, she married Larry Schneider, who is deceased. She is survived by one son, Stephan (Peggie) Clapp of Middleton, Tenn.; four daughters, Cathy (George) Abbott of Nevada, Pamela Moore of Lima, Marsha (Rick) Newland of Lima, and Vickie (Jeff) Kleman of Fort Jennings; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and owned and operated an antique store in Florida for many years. She owned Cameo Dress Shop and worked at various retail stores. She was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Delphos, was active in choir and OCCL. She was voted woman of the year by OCCL in 1970, and worked for Right to Life, the Delphos welcome wagon, and helped start meals on wheels. She was a member of Eastern Star of Delphos. She was a graduate of Versailles High School in 1946 and attended North Park Community Church. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Harter and Son Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Jim Loughrin officiating. Burial will be in Versailles Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Harter and Son Funeral Home. Helen R. Lewis

Helen Marie (Renner) Lewis, 81, of Gomer, died at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Shawnee Manor, Lima. She was born July 16, 1922 in Putnam County to Oscar and Jessie M. (Caskey) Renner. She married Richard Lewis, who died in 1996. Survivors include two sons, Kyle (Sharon) Lewis of Lima and Lyle (Lynette) Lewis of Elida; one daughter, Carla (John) Olds of Lima, four sisters, Methel Benroth of Bluffton, Mary (David) Humphreys of Elida, Marjorie (Thomas) Bourne of Arizona, and Norma (Lewis) Martz of Cairo; a brother, John H. Renner of Elida; six grandchildren and a great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Orman Renner. Lewis retired from The Commercial Bank. She was an active member of Gomer United Church of Christ, Lima Elks, Eastern Star and Welsh Society of Northwest Ohio. She enjoyed butterflies and her family. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Gomer United Church of Christ, the Rev. Brian Knoderer and Youth Pastor Adam Lewis, Lewis' grandson, officiating. Burial will be in Pike Run Cemetery. Velma C. Ricker
July 29, 1917 - Aug. 5, 2003
Velma C. Ricker, 86, of Ottoville, died at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born July 29, 1917 in Putnam County to John Hohlbein and Rosina (Rahrig) Hohlbein. On June 7, 1938, she married John H. Ricker, who died Feb. 29, 1997. Survivors include a son, John A. Ricker of Ottoville; a daughter, Arlene (Robert) Kortokrax of Ottoville; 11 grandchildren; and 29 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Jane Ricker. Ricker retired as a cook from Delphos Memorial Nursing Home. She had also been a cook for the Paradise Oaks Nursing Center, Cloverdale, Jim's Restaurant in Delphos and Dew Drop Inn in Ottoville. Prior to being married, she was a nurse practitioner for Dr. Bollander. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and its altar rosary society. She taught religion education in the elementary school for more than 25 years and sang in the choir for more than 30 years. She also was a member of the Miraculous Medal Association. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, the Rev. Tony Borgia officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ottoville. Mildred Ann Wechta, 70, of Lima, died at her residence at 5:07 p.m. Sunday. She was born Feb. 6, 1933 in Lima, to Arnold and Bertha (Fredlin) Mohler. She married LaVirn Wechta, who died in 1981. Survivors include two sons, Michael (Beth Desenberg) Wechta of Bluffton, and Mark (Kathy) Wechta of Lima; three daughters, Beverly (Earl) Fast of Spencerville, Linda (Thomas Leidel) Rossin of Cleveland, Ga., and Brenda (Bill) Schimpf of Elida; a brother, Arnold (Josie) Mohler of Delphos; a sister, Helen (Leroy) Hauth of Cape Coral, Fla.; a close companion, Bob Boley of Spencerville; 14 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was a homemaker and worked at Nu-Tek Foods, Wapakoneta. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Moonlighters Garden Club, Spencerville Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and American Legion, and the Lima Eagles Club. Grace Anna McClure
Grace Anna McClure, infant, was stillborn Aug. 2 [2003] at Van Wert County Hospital. Her parents are Lucas and Jennifer (Gamble) McClure of Van Wert. Other survivors include maternal grandparents, Donald and Alice Gamble of Delphos; paternal grandmother Carla Speelman of Van Wert; maternal great-grandparents, Leonard and Donna Maloney of Delphos, and Doyt and Barbara Gamble of Lima; paternal great-grandparents Carl and Rosalyn Speelman of Van Wert; and maternal great-great-grandmother Margaret Eilerman of Delphos. Private family services were held with The Rev. Thomas Gorman officiating. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point. Arrangements were handled by Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home.

William Stewart Ridenour, 43, of Delphos, died at 3:15 p.m. Friday in a traffic accident. He was born June 27, 1960 in Lima, to Richard W. and Elizabeth Joann (Stewart) Ridenour. He is survived by a sister, Jo Ellen (Rick) Johnson of Lima; four brothers, Thomas E. (Sandy) Ridenour of Delphos, and David K. (Patricia) Ridenour Sr., Richard Dale Ridenour and Steven A. Ridenour of Lima; a maternal aunt, Mary Jane Robinson of Lima; paternal aunts, Mary Margaret Baber and Mildred Ridenour of Lima and Geraldine Beery of Columbus; a paternal uncle, Donald Ridenour of Lima; several cousins, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was employed at Beining Construction. He was an avid fisherman. Funeral services will be 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Harter and Son Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Terry Brock officiating. Francis J. Siefker, 46, of Lima, died Sunday at her residence. She was born May 18, 1957 to Carey and Evelyn (Burkholder) Hawk. On July 6, 1978 she married Steven Siefker, who survives in Lima. Survivors also include two sisters, Margaret (Les) Wince of Lima, and Ella "Deanie" Hawk of Kenton; three brothers, Carey (Marie) Hawk of Ada, Cleadous (Jeanella) Hawk of Lima, and Greg (Teresa) Hawk of Waynesfield; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Siefker was a homemaker. She was a member of the Columbus Grove Eagles Aerie 2772, helped with the Southern Just Us band, and a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Delphos. She enjoyed needle point, crocheting and chatting on the computer. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Harter and Son Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Harry Tolhurst officiating. There is no calling. Rosemary L. (Brickner) Wahmhoff, 83, of West Toledo, died Aug. 1 [2003] at her residence. She was born Jan. 5, 1920 in Delphos, to Edward and Amelia Brickner. On July 25, 1946, she married Joseph W. Wahmhoff at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, who is deceased. She is survived by five daughters, Joselyn (Richard) Harley, Karen (John) Chmielowicz, Sharen (Terence) Wojtowicz of Temperance, Mich., Judith Wahmhoff and Margaret (John) Orzechowski; two sons, John (Teresa) Wahmhoff of Oakwood, Ill., and Joseph (Joanne) Wahmhoff of Oakwood Hills, Ill.; a sister, Gertrude Brodd; a brother, Robert (Jeannette) Brickner; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne Marie, a sister, Martha, and two brothers, Raymond and Edward. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Clement Church. Cora Mericle Maroney, 90, of Lima, died Friday at Shawnee Manor, Lima. She was born Oct. 13, 1912, in Putnam County, to S. Edward and Elizabeth (Hunt) Good. She had been married to William R. Mericle Sr., who died in 1959. She then married Matthew Maroney, who also preceded her in death. Survivors include three daughters, Beverly (Dr. John) Carroll of Fort Myers, Fla., Elaine Hartman of Riverside, Calif., and Carol (Tony) Topp of Celina; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Mericle of Fort Jennings; a sister, Leota Hindenburg of Clovis, Calif.; a niece, Becky DeVelbiss; 15 grandchildren including Sandy and Glen Lause, Diana Johnson, Bob and Mary Ann Garber and Diana Kill; 21 great-grandchildren including Josh Winkler, Steve Hellman, Nathan Garber, Jamie Garber, Kayla Kill and Kimberly Kill; three step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William R. Mericle Jr.; four brothers, Clarence, Ellis, David and Lewis Good; four sisters, Ada May, Edna Granger, Patricia Mericle and Ruth DeVelbiss; a granddaughter, Patricia Mericle; and a grandson-in-law, Daniel Johnson. Mrs. Maroney was the owner of a clock repair shop in Dayton for many years. During World War II she was employed at the Lima Tank Plant. She was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church in Lima and a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Delphos, where she was a volunteer. She was also in the first group of volunteers for the Delphos Meals on Wheels program. She was a graduate of Gomer High School. Linda L. Odenweller, 60, of Delphos, died at 1:15 a.m. Thursday at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born April 3, 1943, in Van Wert County, to William Dean and Alice L. (Mohler) Rice. On May 17, she married Joseph D. Odenweller, who survives in Delphos. Other survivors include, two sons, Danny Plasterer and George Clark of Toledo; four stepsons, Bruce (Jodi) Odenweller, Daryl Odenweller, Ryan Odenweller and Brent Odenweller of Delphos; three brothers, Charles D. Rice, Rodger D. (Barbara) Rice and Gary L. (Phyllis) Rice of Ohio City; two sisters, Ruth (James) Hill of Van Wert, and Barbara (Kenneth) Hill of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three sisters-in-law, Elaine (Jim) Hogan of Curtice, Ellen (Jim) Gordon of Delphos, and Ann Odenweller of Baton Rouge, La.; two brothers-in-law, Jerry (Sally) Bolenbaugh of Rockford and Don Jent of Ohio City; many nieces and nephews; two grandchildren, Grant and Adam Rutledge of Risingsun; and two step-grandchildren, Ian and Lindsey Odenweller of Delphos. She was preceded in death by a brother, John J. Rice; and two sisters, Marilyn Bolenbaugh and Joyce A. Jent. Mrs. Odenweller had worked at Eaton Corp., Van Wert, for 18 years and had worked at Central Mutual Insurance Company in Van Wert and Merschman Brothers in Rockford. She was a member of Ohio City Church of God and was presently attending St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was a 1961 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School. She was a member of the Glass Society Corvette Association and the Northwest Ohio Garden and Pond Society. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Cowan and Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, Pastors Brad Adams and Paul Rutledge officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Delphos.
