Rady Ellis
Rady M. Ellis, 92, of Brookville, Ind., died Monday, April 9, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She is survived by her sons, William, David and Richard Ellis; and daughters, Elizabeth Umfleet, Joan Davis, Angela Linkel, Drusilla Rif, Janet Geis and Mary Thomas. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Brookville. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Ave., Brookville.

Andrew Smith
Andrew Smith, age 65, went home to be with the Lord April 8, 2001. He was born March 15, 1936, in Clay County, Kentucky the son of Richard and Lindy (Eversole) Smith. He was married on September 21, 1957, in Manchester, Kentucky to Ruth Wagers who survives him. He was retired from Mosler Safe Company. He leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Ruth; six wonderful children: Carole, Vernon (Tina), Ray, Rita (Paul), Eugene (Andrea) and Wanda (Rick); eight grandchildren, Brian, Vernon Jr., Dave, Jessica, Justin, Michael, Joey, and Jordan; two great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a devoted mother, Lindy Smith of Manchester, Kentucky; seven brothers and sisters: Stan (Mary) Russell, Ronnie (Ann), Donnie (Linda), Leota, Esther (Marty) and Kathleen. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Smith, two sons, one brother, Ralph and a grandson, Joshua. Funeral services will be held Thursday April 12, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Kowalk Funeral Home-Rose Hill Chapel, 2565 Princeton Road, Hamilton, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Theodore Buell
Theodore Buell, age 61, formerly of Camden died on Saturday, April 7, 2001, at his home in Clinton, Tennessee. Born March 11, 1940, to Paul and Lida (Happ) Buell, he was the husband of Ann Buell. He was involved in the home improvement industry. Ted was the father of three daughters and one son: Samantha Buell of Phoenix, Arizona, Amy (Mitch) Cook of Fateville, Kentucky, Mary (Jeff) House of Nicholasville, Kentucky and Teddy (Terri) Buell of Nicholasville, Kentucky. He also leaves one stepdaughter and two stepsons; Katherine (C.K.) Nichols of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Stephen (Donna) York of Cookeville, Tennessee and Robert York of Houston, Texas and fourteen grandchildren. He was the brother to: Paul (Eunice) Buell of Richmond, Indiana, Larry (Carla) Buell of Camden, Don (Wanda) Buell of Camden, Mike (Bert) Buell of Middletown. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Buell. Visitation for Theodore Buell will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12 at the R.C. Nein & Sons-Thompson Funeral Home, 249 N. Main Street, Camden. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. immediately after visitation with Rev. Greg Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery in Camden.

Choice McGuire
Choice McGuire, age 82, of Hamilton, passed away Sunday April 8, 2001, at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. Choice was born January 6, 1919, to the union of John and Sarah (Jacks) McGuire in Leeds, Alabama. He was joined in marriage to Annie Lois Walker on May 1, 1954, in Hamilton, Ohio. Choice was a postal worker for the U.S. Post Office; a member of First Baptist Church of Oxford; a WWII Army veteran; a member of VFW Post # 1069, FAM, Lewis Whitaker Post 520, and Toussaint Lodge #19. Choice is survived by his wife, Annie McGuire, of Hamilton, Ohio; one daughter, Ethel Goodwin of Hamilton, Ohio; one brother, William (Evelyn) McGuire of Cincinnati, Ohio; granddaughter, Renae Goodwin of Atlanta, Georgia and one special niece, Gayle Graham of Cincinnati, Ohio and a nephew, Melvin Green of Hamilton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be held at Israel Baptist Church, 701 S. 7th Street, Hamilton, Thursday April 12, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ronald Davis Pastor officiating and Rev. Darryl Jackson Eulogist. Green Hall & Jordan Memorial Chapel, Hamilton in charge of arrangements.

Edie Jane (Brewer) Anderson
Edie Jane (Brewer) Anderson, age 93, of Windsor, California, died at 11:42 p.m. on April 6, 2001. She was born on February 13, 1908, in Waneta, Kentucky. On July 3, 1930, she married William J. (Bill) Anderson in Hamilton, Ohio. Edie lived in Hamilton until her retirement from Krauth and Benninghofen in 1971. During her 40 years in Hamilton, she was active in the Willing Workers class and many other activities of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton. Edie was preceded in death by her husband in December of 1965 and her first daughter born, in 1931. In addition she was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Linda Brewer; brothers, Sam Brewer and Gover Brewer; sisters, Lucy Lunsford, Delia Maupin, Olga Land, Daisy Steele and Sarah Brewer. She is survived by her daughters, Doris Williams of Arnold, California and Faye Smith of Healdsbug, California; two sons-in-law, Edward Orville Williams and Dr. Gary Smith; three grandchildren, Michael Williams of San Diego, California, Alisa Cole of Arnold, California and Neil Williams of Atlanta, Georgia and three great grandchildren, Zachary and Sarah Rutherford and Jennifer Cole of Arnold, California. In addition she is survived by her sister, Provie Steele of Connersville, Indiana and many nieces and nephews. During her lifetime, she was devoted to her church and her family. In the early fifties she was one of the first working moms because she wanted to make certain her girls had a chance for additional education. Both daughters graduated from Miami University. In 1971, after her retirement, she moved to California and spent 29 years in Fremont where she was a faithful member of Thornton Avenue Baptist Church. She moved to a residential care facility in Windsor at the end of 1999. Funeral services will be held at the Webb Noonan Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South "D" Street, Hamilton, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 11, 2001, with Dr. Dennis Metzger of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Thornton Avenue Baptist Church, 4500 Thornton Avenue, Fremont, California 94536 or to the First Baptist Church, 1501 Hamilton-Cleves Road, Hamilton, Ohio 45013.

Charles R. Landis
Charles R. Landis, age 70, of Hamilton, died Sunday April 8, 2001, at 11:20 p.m. in his home. He was born in New Miami, the son of Charles E. and Ida (Holland) Landis. He as a 1948 graduate of Hamilton High School and attended the University of Cincinnati. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in France during the Korean Conflict from September 10, 1948, to July 9, 1951. He married Malvrie Paragin in Liberty, Indiana on March 2, 1957. He was an Associate Account Specialist for Armco Steel from 1953 until his retirement from the Butler, Pennsylvania Works in 1990. He was a member of the University Baptist Church of Middletown; the VFW Post 1069 in Fairfield and the High Point Lodge #773, F&AM, Monroe. He is survived by his wife, Malvrie; two sons, Charles R. Landis and wife Mary E. of Nashville, Tennessee and Stephen R. Landis and wife Karla of Miamisburg, Ohio; his daughter, Karen R. Corbett and husband William of Cincinnati; a brother, Ralph Landis and wife Ruby of Hamilton; a sister, Irene Elston of Daly City, California; two grandchildren, Kayla and Joshua Corbett and many other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N.W. Washington Blvd. with Rev. Nolan Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Helen Louise Shollenbarger Weiss
Helen Louise Shollenbarger Weiss, age 95, of Port Charlotte, Florida, died Friday March 30, 2001, at Tandem Health Care of Port Charlotte. She was s born August 28, 1905, in Hamilton, Ohio and moved to Port Charlotte in 1971 from Dayton, Ohio. She married Joseph E. Weiss August 19, 1937, in Hamilton, Ohio. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Dayton, Ohio. Survived by a son, J. David (Kay) Weiss of Burlington, Iowa; a sister, Dorothy Shollenbarger Hilz of Venice, Florida; two grandsons, Howard T. Weiss of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Warren E. Weiss of Steger, Illinois; niece, Julie Hilz of Venice, Florida; two nephews, Walter Hilz of North Port, Florida, Michael Hilz of Maplewood, Minnesota. A Memorial Service was held on Sunday April 8, 2001, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Darrtown, Ohio. Internment was at Darrtown Cemetery, Darrtown, Ohio. Edward Saylor
Edward Saylor, age 55, of Hamilton, passed away in Fort Hamilton Hospital on Monday April 9, 2001, 5:07 a.m. He was born in Carbondale, West Virginia, on May 7, 1945, the son of Erskin and Sue (Wade) Saylor. Edward was employed as a machinist for Diebold for nineteen years. He is survived by his mother, Sue Saylor of Hamilton; brother, David Saylor and his wife Heidi of Hamilton; two sisters, Linda Norris and her husband Vernon of Somerville, and Brenda Saylor and her fiance Richard Turner of Hamilton; a special devoted niece, Melinda Saylor of Hamilton; other nieces and nephews, numerous other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father. Funeral service will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Friday April 13, 2001, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Marcum Pastor of the Fellowship Christian Center officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8: 00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Milus Sutton, Jr.
Mr. Milus Sutton, Jr., age 76, of Hamilton, Ohio passed away on Sunday April 8, 2001, at Burkley Square Nursing Home. Mr. Sutton was born May 3, 1924, to the union of Nettie (Walker) and Milus Sutton, Sr., in Elko, Georgia. Mr. Sutton was joined in Holy Matrimony in 1947 to Alma Taylor in Macon County, Georgia and to this union were born three sons and two daughters. Mr. Sutton was employed as a die setter for General Motors-Fisher Body Division and retired in 1987. He joined Deacon, Men's Choir, Usher Board, Pilgrim Baptist Church, in Hamilton, Ohio in 1949. Mr Sutton is survived by his loving, Wife, Alma; three sons, Delton (Carolyn) Sutton of Loveland, Ohio, Nikko (Donel) Hearn-Sutton of Washington, D.C. and Lacey Sutton; two daughters, Evonne (Sam) Holiday of Beltsville, Maryland and Brenda J. Hearn of Hamilton. Ohio; two brothers, John (Susie) Sutton and Virgil Sutton, both of Hamilton, Ohio; five sisters, Mamie Ware, Laurenia Laidler, Nettie Sowell and Maggie Fairfax, all of Hamilton, Ohio and Marvelyn McCoy of Jamaica, New York; thee great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at Pilgrim Baptist Church, at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2001, 7111 South Fourth Street, Hamilton, Ohio with Dr. Norman Townsel, Pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of service Thursday at the church. Green, Hall & Jordan Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Arthur E. Ross
Arthur E. Ross, age 85, a resident of Hamilton, passed away Sunday April 8, 2001, at the Butler County Care Facility. Art was born July 31, 1915, in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of William and May (Sweet) Ross. He received his education in the Hamilton Public Schools. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps., prior to serving his country with the United States Army Air Corps during WWII, he received his honorary discharge on December 21, 1943, with the rank of Sergeant. In 1941, he was united in marriage to Iva Marie Vail. Mr. Ross was a valued employee of General Motors- Fisher Body Division in Fairfield, for 25 years. Survivors include his son, Edward E. Ross Sr. and his wife Virginia; three grandchildren, Edward Ross Jr., Jonathan Ross and his fiancee Rachel and Stephanie M. Ross; an expectant great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, other family members and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Iva Ross in 1992, and one brother, William Ross. Visitation will be in the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. 3rd Street, Wednesday April 11, 2001, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Helen R. Lowe
Helen R. Lowe, age 87, of Hamilton, passed away Sunday April 8, 2001, at Tri-County Extended Care Center in Fairfield. She and James W. Lowe were united in marriage and to this union one daughter was born. Mr. Lowe preceded her in death in January 2001. Mrs. Lowe was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, and homemaker. Survivors include her daughter, Delores (Larry) Gross; three grandchildren, Cindy White, Brenda Baker, and Sheila Vaughn; two great-grandchildren, Jason Baker, and Kayla White; one sister, Ruth Zimbleman of Florida. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Elsie Foley, Wanda Brooks, Velma Craycraft, and Garnie Bruck. Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. on April 11, 2001, in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Colligan Funeral Home serving the family.

Robert S. Henes
Robert S. Henes, age 62, of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday April 7, 2001, at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born August 6, 1938, in Hamilton, to the late Christian Andrew and Mildred (Morningstar) Henes. He was educated in Hamilton City Schools, graduated from Kenyon College, was a graduate assistant at The Ohio State University where he went on to receive his master's degree in Political Science. He then moved to New York where he became very involved as a social activist during the peace movement. Bob was a life long member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday April 11, 2001, at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 115 N. Sixth Street, Hamilton with the Rev. Paul Daggett officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Trinity Episcopal Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church in his memory. Webb Noonan Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
