John W. Sticklen
John W. Sticklen, 79, of Middletown, passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was borm in Middletown, Ohio on Aug. 21, 1921, and lived here most of his life. Mr. Sticklen was formerly manager of transportation at Armco Steel Co. and belonged to Faith United Methodist Church. He was treasurer of his Middletown High School Class of 1939 and a member of the National Honor Society. He was also a member of Masonic Lincoln Lodge 693, Delta Kappa Epsilon and the American Society of Traffic and Transportation. He lived in Butler, Pa. for seven years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Estella Sticklen; sisters JoAnn Sticklen and Mary Jane Phillips; and a brother, George Sticklen. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Norma; brothers Walter Sticklen of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Lloyd Sticklen of Franklin; nephews Jim, Jeff, Richard and Bobby Sticklen; and nieces Sandra Williams, Beverly Stamper, Barbara Gordon and Nancy Edgington.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, with Pastor Johnny Schmitt officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
MEMORIALS: Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice or Faith United Methodist Church, Baltimore and Philadelphia Streets, Middletown 45044.

Cecil Taylor
Cecil C. Taylor, 69, of Trenton, passed away at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Meigs County, Ohio, April 11, 1931. Mr. Taylor spent four years in the United States Air Force and worked as a mason for 40 years. He was a member of Jefferson Lodge 90. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Betty; a son, David (Sandy) Taylor of Middletown; two daughters, Diana (Gene) Deaton of Hamilton and Julie (Christopher) Daughetee of Trenton; five grandchildren, Cory Taylor of Hamilton, Casey (Candace) Taylor of Monroe, Christen O'Banion of Trenton, Benjamin Daughetee of Trenton and Anna Daughetee of Trenton; step-grandchildren, Amanda and Micah Deaton of Trenton; great-granddaughter, Brittany Burnett of Trenton; two brothers, Roland (Loretta) Taylor of New Jersey and Donald (Diane) Taylor of Florida; and one sister, Sharon (Glenn) Watts of Georgia.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Anderson officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour before the services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
MEMORIALS: The family suggests contributions to the Trenton Rescue Squad or to the American Diabetes Foundation.

Edward Thier
Edward C. Thier, 45, of Hamilton, passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001. He was born in Butler County on Nov. 18, 1955, the son of Joseph and Marcella (Holstein) Thier. He was employed as a cabinet maker for Innovative Woodworking for the past 11 years. Edward was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and had coached many youth athletic teams. On Sept. 1, 1984, he married Penny Nooe. He is survived by his wife, Penny Thier; three children, James Edward, Jacob Edward and Elena Catherine Thier; his parents, Joseph and Marcella Thier, all of Hamilton; five brothers, Joe Thier and his wife Uschi of Sedona, Ariz., Mike Thier of Portland, Ore., Rick Thier and his wife Pat, and Tom Thier, both of Chicago, and Jeff Thier of Hamilton.
ARRANGEMENTS: Prayers will be held at the Brown Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a trust fund for Edward's children at HAMBUCO Credit Union, 8811 Holden Blvd., Fairfield, Ohio 45014.

Priscilla Thompson
Mrs. Priscilla Mae Thompson, 71, of Middletown, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born on Nov. 23, 1929, in Jonesboro, Ark, the daughter of Isaac and Phylis Mundy. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Thyresia Mundy; and a grandson, Teray Damone Marshall. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia (Michael) Cyrus of Lee Summit, Mo., Sandra Thompson of Cincinnati and Yvonne Thompson of Hamilton, Ohio; four sons, L. C. Thompson Jr. of Middletown, Walter (Constance) Thompson of Kettering and Lawrence and James Thompson, both of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Odessa Kyle of Oklahoma and Clara Mae Henry of Cincinnati; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Second Baptist Church, 116 N. Verity Parkway, Middletown, with the Rev. N. L. Cooper officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 12:30 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are by Hall-Jordan Memorial Chapel, 918 S. Main St.

Mae Thorpe
Mae Thorpe, 86, of Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center, passed away there Monday afternoon, Jan. 15, 2001. She was born on Aug. 29, 1914, in Yocum, Ky., the daughter of Nelson and Nancy Fugate Bishop. Mae was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She is survived by two daughters, Linda S. Buell, and her husband, Richard, of Middletown, and Barbara S. Karam, and her husband, Alan, of Middletown; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Thorpe in 1967.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Daniel Justice officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.

W. Richmond Tussey
William "Richmond" Tussey, 60, of 305 Hill Ave., Franklin, passed away Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at his residence. He was born on June 11, 1940, in West Libery, Ky., the son of Frank and Girtis (McGuire) Tussey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Tussey was formerly a custodian for the Springboro and Franklin City Schools and a member of the Miamisburg Full Gospel Tabernacle Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell, and a sister, Mary Lou Middleton. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Barbara; two sons, Darren and Billy Tussey, both of Franklin; a daughter, Lisa and her husband, Bob Marchant, of Carlisle; five brothers, Frank Tussey of Fort Myers, Fla., and Homer, Gennis, Mitchell and Jack Tussey, all of Franklin; two sisters, Anna Fay Gross and Shirley Ward, both of Franklin; two granddaughters and two step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Miamisburg Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, 515 Schroeder, Miamisburg, with the Rev. Lonnie Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 40 N. Main St., Springboro.

Paul E. Wilson
Paul E. Wilson, 84, of Middletown, passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at his residence. He was born in Quicksand, Ky., on March 19, 1916, and lived here most of his life. During World War II, Mr. Wilson served as the Army safety director of Dyersburg Army Air Base in Tennessee and had also served in Oklahoma. After the war, he was safety director for the Middletown Safety Council for 10 years and was employed at Hauselman Transfer Moving Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1983. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3809, American Legion Post 218 and the Lions Cub. He was also an active participant with the school safety patrol, a Boy Scout leader in Blue Ball, an umpire with the Middletown Umpire's Association, a Sunday school superintendent at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, a 700 series bowler and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul E. Wilson in 1966; his parents, John and Callie (Plummer) Wilson; brothers, Charles, Clarence and Herschel Wilson; and a sister, Beulah Drago. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Minnie T. Wilson of Middletown; a daughter, Marty Sandridge of Middletown; two grandchildren, David Sandridge of Morrow and Stephanie Stroble of Redmond, Wash.; two great-grandchildren, Alyssia and Breana Stroble of Redmond, Wash.; and several brothers and sisters.
ARRANGEMENTS: The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at Zion Lutheran Church, North Breiel Boulevard at Central Avenue, where funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. David Mooreland will officiate. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.

Robert Wilson
Robert "Bob" Wilson, 54, of Middletown, went to be with the Lord at 12:08 p.m. Friday in the emergency room at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born Aug. 25, 1946 in Clermont County, Ohio and had lived in the Middletown area most of his life. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by Crystal Tissue for 24 years and also worked for Dave's Body Shop for 30 years. He was a collector of all types of classic cars. He loved to play golf with his friends. He was preceded in death by parents Ralph Burdette and Laura Ethel (McPherson) Wilson. He is survived by his fiance, Donna Gilbert of Middletown; daughters Lisa Marie Blake and husband Robert David of Trenton and Kristina Marie Friend and husband James Arthur Friend of Middletown; step-daughter Erica Suzanne Haven of Middletown; foster sons Austin Michael Schul and Bryan Carter Schul, both of Middletown. He was the proud grandfather of four grandsons Aaron David Blake, Zachary Robert Darrell Friend, Ryan James Friend and Joshua James Friend; brothers Lee Wilson and wife Sandy of South Carolina, E. David Wilson and wife Rosemary of Germantown and Clyde Fitz of Hamilton; halfsister Cindy of Cincinnati and special friend and caretaker Lorrie Lawson of Middletown.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Union Chapel United Methodist Church, 8284 Keister Road, Middletown, with Revs. David Kepple and Clifton Hatfield officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Poasttown, with military services by American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
