Moni LeAnn Silas
Moni LeAnn Silas, 28, dawned this world on June 23, 1971, at Middletown Regional Hospital to Montina Silas and William Sparks Sr. Moni was later adopted by Larry Silas. Her sunset in life was on April 27, 2000, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Moni fulfilled one of her dreams on April 18, 2000, by giving birth to a son, Jamall Kareem Marquez. Moni asked Jesus to be the head of her life at the early age of 9-years-old. Moni graduated from Middletown High School in 1989. After graduation, she attended Wright State University in Dayton and Southwestern College in Middletown. Though Moni had various employments, she was presently employed at Square D Company as a machinist. Moni leaves a memory that will be cherished forever by her mother, Montina Silas; father, Larry J. Silas Sr. of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Larry J. Silas Jr. of Clarksville, Tenn. and William Sparks Jr. of Middletown; two sisters, Michelle Davis and Nicole Sparks, both of Middletown; grandmothers, Eliza Drennen and Ella Armstrong, both of Middletown, and Saundra Saxton of Columbus, Ohio; aunts, Birdie Porter of Middletown, Sandra Drennen, Glenda (Ben) Sankey and Crystal Jefferson of Columbus, Ohio, Lucy Drennen of Atlanta, Ga., Shadidl of Long Beach, Calif. and Betty Ann Burton of Middletown; uncles, Gordon and Lorenzo Drennen of Atlanta, Ga., Leo Drennen, David and Ronald Ausberry of Columbus, Ohio; special cousins, Lynette and Kelsha Porter; a host of nieces and nephews and extended family members; special friend Jamall Fuller and very special friend, Genevra Robinson. God says to train up a child in the way he should go and he shall not depart from it. The family vows to teach little Jamall to share the loving memory of his mother and her love for God and most of all, her.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held Monday, May 1 at 1 p.m. at Solid Rock Church on Union Road in Monroe, Ohio. Pastor Shelton Hendriex will officiate. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service at the church.
MEMORIALS: An educational trust fund has been set up for little Jamall. Contributions may be sent to Square D Company at 1500 S. University Blvd., Attention: Wanda Braun. Arrangements are being handled by Hall-Jordan Memorial Chapel.

Dorothy N. Sipe
Mrs. Dorothy N. (Norris) Sipe, 85, of Dayton, formerly of Fairborn, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, at Harborside Health Care-Laurelwood in Dayton. Dorothy was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Dayton Chapter 125. She retired from her job in the accounting department at Wright Patterson Air Force Base where she had worked for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Sipe in 1996; and a sister, Kathleen Schmidt. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Harry E. and Lillian Norris of Centerville; three nephews, Ron Gabbard of Dayton, Phillip Norris of Middletown and Tim Norris of Franklin.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Morris Sons Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Fairborn, with Pastor Dwaine Tilford officiating. Burial will follow at New Carlisle Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home, with Order of Eastern Star services at 2:15 p.m.

Betty L. Starr
Mrs. Betty L. Starr, 68, of Greenwood, Ind., died Wednesday, April 26, 2000, at her residence. She was born in Middletown, Ohio, on June 19, 1931, the daughter of Charles Lee and Ruby Lucille (Black) Porter. She married the late Ralph M. Starr in Anderson, Ind., in 1953. Mrs. Starr was a minister of the Church of God of Anderson, Ind., for 12 1/2 years, retiring in 1998. She was a retired member of the OMS International and the Meridian Church of God in Indianapolis, Ind. She was preceded in death by father; and her husband, Ralph Starr. Survivors include two sons, Charles William Starr of Kissimmee, Fla., and Kevin Robert Starr of Martinsville, Ind.; two daughters, Brenda Kay Barnes of Fredrick, Md., and Linda Darlene Minnix of Greenwood, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; her mother, Ruby Porter of Greenwood; and a brother, Donald L. Porter of Centerville, Ohio.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation is today, April 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the G.H. Herrmann Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, Ind., and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Meridian Church of God, 7800 S. Meridian St., Indianapolis, Ind. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park in Trenton, Ohio, at 4 p.m. Saturday (Ohio time).

Amanda Marie Steele
Amanda Marie "Mandy" Steele, infant daughter of Tony and Hally Steele of Middletown, was born April 25, 2000, in Middletown, Ohio and went to be in the arms of Jesus April 27, 2000. She is also survived by one sister, Emily at home; maternal grandparents, Richard and Grace Alexander of Middletown and Richard and Peggy Corcoran of Springfield, Ohio; paternal grandmother, Betty Steele of Middletown; two uncles and two aunts, Thomas and Cindy Bell of Franklin, Ohio, Kim Fryer of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Brian Corcoran of Dayton, Ohio, and numerous cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Graveside services will be at the convenience of the family at Woodside Cemetery, with Pastor Terry Bell officiating. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to all their supporters and prayer partners, with special thanks to Pastor Terry and Norma Bell, the Family Birth Center at Middletown Regional Hospital, the Children's Medical Center in Dayton and the Ronald McDonald House of Dayton.

Edward C. Weinel
Edward C. Weinel, 86, of Germantown, passed away Friday, April 28, 2000. Mr. Weinel was a retired employee of Frigidaire with over 40 years of service, a member of the First Baptist Church in Farmersville and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2292 in Germantown. He was preceded in death by a son, John Weinel, his parents and a brother. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Charlotte Weinel, two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Iluminada Weinel of Farmerville and Darrel and Sharon Weinel of Germantown; a daughter, and son-in-law, Debra and Charles Boggs of Eaton; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert and Lois Weinel of Michigan and Eugene Weinel of Miamisburg; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Eddie Wallace of Carlisle; a daughter-in-law, Linda Weinel of Miamisburg; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Orville J. Agnew
Orville J. Agnew, 70, of Middletown, Madison Township, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on Nov. 2, 1929, to the late John and Elizabeth (Lundsford) Agnew. Mr. Agnew was a Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion. He retired from Reynolds Electric in 1992 after 40 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the IBEW No. 648. Orville walked the path of life "hand in hand" with the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and master craftsman. He managed the Duff's Cafe softball team for eight years and was inducted into the Butler County Softball Hall of Fame. He was also a devoted husband of 50 years, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by a son, Johnny; a brother, Norman; and his parents, John and Elizabeth. He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Schiering) Agnew; three sons, Jim, and his wife, Jodie, of Winchester, Ohio, and, Jeff, and wife, Pam, and Joe and wife, Lori, all of Middletown; two daughters, Janice Brown and her fiancee, Pat Kinser, of Middletown, and Joni Sears, and husband, Chris, of Germantown; 12 grandchildren, Maggie, Susie and Blake Brown, Jason and Josh Sears, Jennifer and Janice Agnew, Benjamin and Anna Agnew, and Johnny, Wyatt and Wade Agnew; loving sisters Ruth Barrett, and husband, Roy, of Ocala, Fla., Betty Benzing of Warsaw, Ind., and Sandy Castle of Middletown; a brother, Marshall Agnew, and wife, Ilene, of Liberty, Ind.; numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends; and his dedicated friend and companion, his dog, Erma. Orville's memory will live on through those who deeply loved him.

Anis C. Bailey
Anis Chaffins Bailey, 79, of Lebanon died Friday, April 21, 2000, at her residence. She was born in Knott County, Kentucky, on Sept. 27, 1920, the daughter of Kelse and Ollie (Coburn) Chaffins. She was a member of the Lebanon Freewill Baptist Church and was an avid gardener and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Burnis in 1987; her first husband, Arnold Prater in 1941, one brother, Hiatt Chaffins; four sisters, Seatta Foster, Hazel Reed, Velma Collins and Gertrude Chaffins. Survivors include a son, Velton Delno Prater of Red Lion; a daughter, Gloria Lennon-Freeman and husband Mike of Middletown; a brother Clayton Chandler Chaffins of Crestview, Fla.; a sister, Elsie Craft of Garrett, Ky.; one grandson, Brandon Willis; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special niece, Bonnie Shipley.

Pauline R. Bell
Pauline R. "Polly" (Jones) Bell, 82, of Exeter Township, Pa., formerly of Middletown, died Friday, April 21, at Berkshire Center, Reading, Pa. She was born in Excello, Ohio, on Jan. 18, 1918, the daughter of Mortimer B. and Lucille (Smith) Jones. She was a Monroe High School graduate and lived in Middletown for 80 years. She worked as a customer assistant at Middletown Federal Savings & Loan for 14 years, retiring in 1983. She was charter member and past president of the Trenton Circle, Mother's Study League, past board member of the Middletown Women's Center, past president of the Salvation Army Auxiliary, Middletown. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Middletown, where she served as church secretary, youth group leader and Sunday school teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Thomas H. Bell, Jr., in 1981; husband Ken Pentecost; and sisters Dorothy Sander Langworthy and Fern Snyder Kirby. Survivors include a son, Thomas and wife Cindy Bell of Franklin; a daughter, Stephanie and husband John Wilson of Reading, Pa.; three grandchildren, Gregory, Tangi and Destiny; brother Ralph and wife Lena Jones of Sun City, Ariz.; and sister Mary Lynch of Cincinnati.
ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. May 20 at First Presbyterian Church, Middletown. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery.

Thomas A. Cornelle
Thomas A. Cornelle, 67, formerly of Middletown, passed away Thursday, April 20, at the Community Multicare Center in Fairfield, where he had been a patient for about one month. He was born Aug. 31, 1932, in Middletown, to John Wilbur Cornele and Margaret Cornele Sharits. He served in the U.S. Navy and was employed as a cook at the Manchester Inn. He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Margaret Long; and nine brothers, Mike, John, Don, Charlie, Bill, Paul, Dave, Carl and Steven Cornele. Survivors include his mother of Middletown; one brother, Richard Cornele and his wife Rita of Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Private services will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.

John M. Eagle
John M. Eagle, formerly of Middletown, died in Whittier, Calif., on Friday, April 21, 2000, at age 82. He was born on Sept. 25, 1917, in West Chester, Ohio. He was the son of Raymond W. and Addie Slone Eagle. He graduated from Middletown High School in 1936 and received a master's degree from the University of Southern California. He was a trustee at Pepperdine University. He married in 1941 to Marjorie M. Jones of Lebanon, Ohio. They have one son, John Michael. Mr. Eagle worked at Armco Steel Co. from 1936 to 1942 and served with the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II. In 1946 he went with his wife and son to California where he founded Pipe Fabricating and Supply Co., which supplies high pressure piping systems for nuclear power, petro-chemical and industrial plants. At his death, Mr. Eagle was chairman and CEO of the company. In 1994, he became a partner in another company, Environmental Equipment Corp. of Denver, Colo. Although he has been a California resident for 54 years, he kept close ties with friends and family in Ohio. He became a sponsor of the Middletown Community Foundation at its inception and shortly thereafter became affiliated with the Sorg Opera Company. In 1992 and in 1993 he issued a $15,000 challenge grant to the opera company and following in 1993 he became a member of the opera company's board of trustees and continued to sponsor individual productions. He was involved in many charities in his hometown area. He was the permanent chairman of the reunion committee of the class of 1936 and worked closely with Knight Goodman and Dorothy Van Buskirk to insure successful reunions. Mr. Eagle was one of six children, four of whom are deceased. A younger brother, Robert, lives in Orange, Calif. His sister, Mildred Eagle Williams, was a Girl Scout leader in Middletown for 50 years. Mr. Eagle is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie; a son, John M. Eagle Jr.; two grandsons, Kenneth M. (Suzie) of LaHabra Heights, Calif., and John Marx Eagle III (Colleen) of Casa Grande, Ariz.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation is at 1 p.m. today, April 25, at the Rose Hills Mortuary, Whittier, Calif. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at the Sky Rose Chapel, Rose Hill Cemetery in Whittier, Calif.

Helen Ernst
Mrs. Helen Ernst, 86, of Middletown, passed away Monday, April 17, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was a Middletown native and was born here on Aug. 13. 1913. She was the daughter of William and Mary Rose (Stroub) Jacobs. Among her survivors are three sons, William (Lorene) Ernst of Union, Ohio, Richard (Julie) Ernst of LaVernia, Texas, and David (Debbie) Ernst of Lubbock, Texas; a daughter, Patricia (John) Seer of Kettering; two sisters, Ruth Farmer and Pearl Billman, both of Middletown; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Ernst, in 1987; her parents; and three brothers and two sisters.
ARRANGEMENTS: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 24, at Holy Trinity Church of Holy Family Parish, with Father John Civille as celebrant. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home.

George L. Gillum
George L. Gillum, 59, of Middletown, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born on Jan. 11, 1941, in Wheelwright, Ky., but lived in this area most of his life. He was an Army veteran. Mr. Gillum was retired from the Department of Transportation where he had worked as a permit supervisor. He was an inactive member of the Masons. He was preceded in death by his father, John Gillum; a son, Scott Douglas Gillum; and a daughter, Cindy Coleen Gillum. Among his survivors are his wife of 39 years, Peggy Gillum; a son, Ricky L. Gillum of Middletown; a daughter, Jennifer R. Steward (Brian) of Waverly, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kody M. and Kalynn M. Gillum and Amber J. and Brandon C. Steward; his mother, Mae Gillum of Middletown; and a sister, Vivian Napier of Middletown.

Elsie Hensley
FRANKLIN -- Mrs. Elsie Hensley, 70, of Franklin, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born in Cowcreek, Ky., on June 13, 1929, the daughter of George and Lillie (Stamper) Smith. Mrs. Hensley attended the Franklin Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Marvin in 1997; a brother, Westley Smith; two sisters, Elizabeth Wilson and Jeanette Collins; and three grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Murphy Hensley; two sons, Otis and Murphy Hensley Jr., both of Franklin; four daughters, Patty K. Crawford of Albany, Ohio, Wanda Sue Mullins, Marlene Artman and Darlene Pate, all of Franklin; three brothers, Conley, Oakley and Brown Smith, all of Middletown; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Eleanor R. Kelley
Mrs. Eleanor R. Kelley, 89, formerly of Lewisburg, Ohio, died Friday, April 21, 2000, at the Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Home in Lebanon, Ohio. She was born on March 29, 1911, in Dayton, Ohio. Mrs. Kelley was a member of the North Riverdale Lutheran Church in Dayton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Harriet Catherine (Hagerman) Ralston; her husband, Ellis E. Kelley in January, 1995; a daughter, Ann Lorraine Kelley in 1942; and a sister, Lorraine Reynolds in March, 1999. She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Clemens of Miami, Fla., Ruth Schlofner of Sacramento, Calif., and Martha Kelley of Middletown, Ohio; two sons, Robert Kelley of Dayton and David Kelley of Wendel, N.C.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lewisburg, Ohio, with the Revs. Monte Stevens and James Lehman officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg. The family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, Ohio.

Robert B. Kruse
Robert B. Kruse, 83, of Middletown, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Garden Manor Extended Care Center. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on Nov. 8, 1917, and served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Kruse was retired from the Kemp Electric Supply Co. He was a member of Jefferson Masonic Lodge 90, American Legion Post 218 and the Antioch Temple, Valley of Scottish Rite. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma (Weikel) Kruse in 1984; and his second wife, Inez (Scott) Kruse in 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Fyffe (Kenneth) of Lebanon, Ohio; and a grandson, Michael Griggs of Lebanon.
ARRANGEMENTS: Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Butler County Memorial Park, with the Rev. Bill Cain officiating.

Carol F. Lairson
Mrs. Carol Francis Lairson, 63, of Middletown, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born in Middletown on Jan. 9, 1937, and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Lairson was a homemaker and a member of the Resurrection Pentecostal Church of God in Germantown. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Frances and Ruth Elsie (Douglas) Brate. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Wilbur B. Lairson; six sons, Clarence Lairson (Tara), Thomas Lairson (Elizabeth), Mark Lairson (Debbie), Willard Lairson (Rikki), Anthony Lairson (Sue) and Jeffery Lairson (Elizabeth), all of Middletown; a daughter, Pamela Adams (Kerry) and an adopted daughter, Terri Sparks, both of Middletown; 28 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Lee of Monroe and Robin Crouch and Sue Huff, both of Middletown; and a brother, Doug Brate of Middletown. She is greatly loved and will forever be missed.

Clifford P. McGuire
Clifford P. McGuire, 73, of Middletown, died Monday, April 17, 2000 at his residence. He was born in Middletown, Ohio, on Jan. 20, 1927, the son of Ollie and Amelia (Brown) McGuire. Mr. McGuire served in the Air Force during World War II. He was employed at Armco as a machine operator and later as a mill clerk before retiring in 1985. He also worked in purchasing for Aeronca and Kaiser. Mr. and Mrs. McGuire were married for 51 years. Survivors include his wife, Betty A. McGuire of Middletown; a daughter, Maureen Johnson of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, John (Cleo) McGuire of Rancho Cucomonga, Calif.; three sisters, Virginia (Carl) Mueller and Shirley (Robert) Horn, both of Middletown and Bernice (Gene) Perry of Corona, Calif.; two grandchildren, Sara and Tyler Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Amelia McGuire; a brother, Leslie McGuire; and four sisters, Golda Cassity, Gladys Medley, Helen Hall and Bettie Arkill.

Robin L. "Barefoot Lady" McIntosh, 53, of Crystal River, Fla., and formerly of Middletown, died Saturday, April 22, 2000. She was born in Middletown, where she lived for 27 years. She was a member of Amazing Grace Pentecostal of Crystal River and was a graduate of Amanda Elementary School and Lemon-Monroe High School. Survivors include her husband, Fred R. McIntosh of Crystal River; two daughters, Tenessa Trotter of Homosassa, Fla., and Tangila Copeland of Crystal River; her mother, Margaret Wallace of Middletown; two brothers, James (Fern) Wallace of Middletown and Donald (Sandy) Wallace of Germantown; four grandchildren, Ryan, Joshua, Kimberly and Margaret; one great-grandchild, Haley Spring and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins of Kentucky.

Edgar H. Moore
Edgar H. "Egar" Moore, 58, of Middletown, Franklin Township, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at Dayton Heart Hospital. He was born in Middletown on June 4, 1941, to the late Edgar and Juanita (Wills) Moore. He was a Navy veteran and had also served in the Army National Guard. Mr. Moore retired from Armco/AK Steel Co. in 1991 after 32 years of service. He had worked at Armco as a hot strip mill repairman. He was a life member of American Legion Post 218 and the Armco Bass Club. He leaves his wife of 20 years, Linda; five sons, Greg (Bobbie) Moore, Jeff (Melissa) Bowlin, Todd (Kelli) Moore, John (Shay) Gable and Jim (Jennifer) Gable; two daughters, Rhonda Callahan and Traci (Tony) Lattuga; 21 grandchildren; a brother, Larry Moore; four sisters, Pat (Dick) Sorrell, Suzanne (Darrell) Howard, Jeanette (Ed) Evans and Norma Crowe; and a sister-in-law, Karla Walker.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Keeny officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Helen M. O'quist
Helen Marie (Cavolt) O'quist, 77, of Middletown, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born March 13, 1923, in Middletown to Walter B. and Anna Rebecca (Clark) Cavolt. She was a lifelong resident of Middletown and worked as a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Walter B. Cavolt Jr. and one sister, Gretchen Hiatt. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Peter L. "Swede" O'quist; a niece, Arlene Helsinger and her husband Jerry; a nephew, Michael Hiatt and his wife Judy; great nieces Teresa Hiatt, Lisa Hunt and Suzanne McKinley; great nephews Michael D. Hiatt, Jerry Helsinger, Jeffery Helsinger, Jonathan Helsinger; great great nieces Samantha Hunt and Emily Hiatt; great great nephews Jacob Hiatt, Marc Hunt II, Andrew McKinley and Jerry Helsinger III.

Celesta Powell
Mrs. Celesta (Douglass) Powell, 78, of 1706 Glenwood Ave., Middletown, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at her residence. She was born on July 9, 1921, in Lexington, Ky., and had lived in the Middletown area for 20 years. Mrs. Powell was a homemaker and a member of the Yankee Road Pentecostal Church of God in Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse James and Bertha (Lipps) Douglass; her husband, Delbert Powell; two daughters, Molly Jo Ann Powell and Della Maria Powell; and a brother, William Douglass. She leaves seven sons, Walter West and Ray Powell, and his wife, Vickie, all of Hamilton, Ohio, Larry Powell, and his wife, Janie, and Kenny Powell, and wife, Linda, all of Mountain Home Ark., John Powell of Middletown, David Powell of Bell Gardens, Calif., and Richard Powell, and his wife, Diana, of Three Rivers, Mich.; five daughters, Mary Ashford of Hamilton and Irma Fields, Charlotte Hensley, and husband, Eddie, and Wanda Robinson, and husband, Jim, all of Middletown, and Pat Sperka, and husband, Wayne, of Mountain Home, Ark.; 23 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three treat-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Louise (Hampton) Mobley and Eva Hampton, and her husband, Fred, all of Tampa, Fla.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation is today, April 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Yankee Road Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, 3117 Yankee Road, Middletown. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with Pastor Clyde Robinson officiating. Interment will be at Hickory Flat Cemetery in Trenton.

Frank Udvarhelyi
Frank Udvarhelyi, 77, of Middletown, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born on Jan. 14, 1923, in Razboieni Transylvania, Romania, and had lived here since 1956. He served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Udvarhelyi was a tailor. He owned and operated the Carriage Tailor Shop until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of St. John's Chapel of Holy Family Parish. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frasisc and Anna (Szabo) Udvarhelyi; one brother and five sisters. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Maria M. Udvarhelyi; a sister, Katalin Ruzsa of Budapest, Hungary; and three nephews and three nieces.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, with Father John Civille officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Thelma L. Weaver
Mrs. Thelma L. Weaver, 89, of Monroe, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Mount Pleasant Retirement Village, Monroe. She was born May 15, 1910, in Brown County, Ohio, the daughter of Ethel Mae (Dutton) and Lewes Daugherty. Mrs. Weaver worked for the Sorg Paper Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1972 as a lab supervisor. She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary, a Red Cross volunteer and a Doty House volunteer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice F. Weaver in 1984; her parents; and a daughter, Fletchie Walker in 1964. Survivors include a son, William B. (Virginia R.) Weaver of Dalton, Ga.; three grandchildren, Dean (Bobbie) Walker of Middletown; Robin Lee (Michael) Faircloth of Ramona, Calif.; Cherie Lee Walker of Lebanon; and a great-grandchild, Michelle Walker of Hamilton.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today, April 25, at Christ United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paula Marbury officiating. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery, Middletown. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the church. There was also visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 24, at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home.

John W. Wheeler Sr.
SPRINGBORO -- John W. Wheeler Sr., 57, of Springboro, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, in Miamisburg. He was retired from Allied Signal (Bendix) as a machine designer and attended Moraine Heights Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Ottis Franklin Wheeler. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Betty Wheeler; his mother, Malinda (Price) Wheeler; a daughter and son-in-law, Malinda and Todd Bell of Columbus; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Amy Wheeler of Centerville and Michael and Angela Wheeler of Kettering; five grandchildren, Justin, Joshua and Nicole Bell and Aaron and Eric Wheeler; a brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Sharon Wheeler of Fairborn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services were concluded at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22, in the Moraine Heights Baptist Church, 5661 Munger Road, Dayton, with Pastor Terrell Hudson officiating. Friends called Friday evening, April 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

Martha Wirtley
HAMILTON -- Mrs. Martha (Kelley) Wirtley, 92, of Hamilton, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at 10 p.m. in the Butler County Care Facility. She was born in Wayne Township, Butler County, the daughter of Joseph and Lucy (Pallmun) Kelley. She was a 1927 graduate of Wayne Township High School. She married Robert L. Wirtley on Aug. 9, 1930, in Seven Mile. Mrs. Wirtley loved her flower garden, sewing and working with her husband on the farm. She is survived by her husband, Robert; a son, Robert F. Wirtley of Hamilton; a brother, Herbert Kelley of Middletown; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles Wirtley; four brothers, Frank, Willard, Clarence and Harry Kelley; and a sister, Edna Hoffman.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N.W. Washington Blvd., Hamilton, with the Rev. Jeff Motter officiating. Burial will be in Miltonville Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
