Cynthia Ratliff
Mrs. Cynthia Ratliff, 88, of Deming, N.M., passed away Sunday, June 14, 1998, at Mimbres Memorial Nursing Home in Deming.
She was born in Magoffin County, Ky., on Oct. 6, 1909, and had lived in Deming, N.M., for 34 years. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Leona Ratliff of Midland, Ga., Robert and Tina Ratliff of Mason, Ohio, and Paul and Bonnie Ratliff, of Carlisle; four daughters, Juanita Cochran of Welch, W.Va., Olgie Ratliff of Valparaiso, Ind., Dolores Stahl, and her husband, Lewis, of Versailles, Ohio, and Brenda Jacobs, and her husband, Ken, of Deming, N.M.; 24 grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Wesley Back of Hazard, Ky., Ault Back of Jackson, Ky., and Grover Back of Slade, Ky.; and a sister, Rose Gevedon of Camden.
Mrs. Ratliff was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Ratliff in 1966; her second husband, Alfred Backer in 1997; a son, Jimmy Ray Ratliff; a sister, Ruie Collinsworth; a daughter, Jewel Backer; two grandchildren, Darrell Cochran and David Ratliff; and two brothers, Wilgus and Junior Back.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home in Middletown, with the Rev. Cecil Moore officiating. Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Catherine Reynolds
SPRINGBORO - Mrs. Catherine D. Reynolds, 64, of Springboro, died Friday, June 26, 1998, at Hospice of Dayton.
She was a longtime member of Clearcreek Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Reynolds, in August 1997.
Mrs. Reynolds is survived by her seven children and their spouses, Sherri and Scott Hathaway of Middletown, Mary and Barry Hollon of Middletown, Kim and Greg Reising of Lebanon, Dawn and Bill Covert of Franklin, Scott and Cindy Reynolds of Waynesville, Allan and Kim Reynolds of West Chester and Sue and Roy Steele of Middletown; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Caroline Roudebush of Wilmington.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 4, at Clearcreek Chapel Baptist Church in Springboro.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice.
Virginia Ristaneo
Mrs. Virginia E. Ristaneo, 83, of Middletown, died at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 1998, at her residence.
She was born on Dec. 5, 1914, at Lake City, Fla., and had lived in this area most of her life. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Ristaneo was a member of the Elk Creek Baptist Church.
Among her survivors are three sons, Jim and Tom Ristaneo, both of Middletown and Larry Ristaneo of West Alexandria; a daughter, Connie Ristaneo of Camden; eight grandchildren, Tom Jr., Michael, Gregory, Jill, Amy, Kim, Jamie and Lisa; a great-grandchild, Tara; and a sister, Alice Moorside of Punta Gorda, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Sarah (Florence) Fryman; her husband, Ray Ristaneo in 1992; four brothers, Roy, Oscar, Joe and Hilen Fryman; and five sisters, Laura, Hazel, Dora, Edna and Essie.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., with the Rev. Carvin C. Bryant officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Madison Township.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Hazel Louise Roberts
Hazel Louise Roberts, 63, of 701 Spring Ave., Franklin, passed away at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 1998 at her residence.
She was born Jan. 29, 1935 in Dayton, the daughter of Roy and Minnie (Roberts) Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; her parents; a sister, Betty; and brothers, Raymond and George.
She is survived by six sons, Jim, David, and Dickie, of Middletown, Gary and Tom, both of Franklin, and Tim, of Miamisburg; a daughter, Alice, of Franklin; two brothers, Walter and Leroy Campbell, both of Franklin; a sister, Sue Ann Spencer, of Franklin; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Eaton-Anderson Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery.
Eileen L. Randall
Eileen L. Randall, 76, of 204 Poplin Place, Trenton, died Sunday morning, Feb. 21, 1999, at Bethesda North Hospital. She was born in Elmore, Maine, Oct. 19, 1922, the daughter of Charles and Lenna (Bidwell) May. She was a member of the University Baptist Church.
She is survived by her three daughters, Gladys Lapinski, of Winston-Salem, N.C., Marcia Oganowski ,of Batavia and Caroline Randall, of Bel Air, Md.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a sister, Gladys Boardman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1974, a son, Wayne, and a grandson, Eric.
ARRANGEMENTS: Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Woodside Cemetery with the Rev. C. Nolan Phillips officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home.

James B. Roberts
James B. Roberts, 75, of Carlisle, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999 at the Middletown Regional Hospital.
He was born July 19, 1923 in Campton, Ky.
A World War II veteran, Mr. Roberts spent 47 years in the community. He was an electrician at Sorg Paper Co. He retired in 1982 after 31 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife Albertie Roberts in August, 1988; his parents, James Baxter Roberts and Mary Lou (nee Cable) Roberts; and a sister, Ruth Edwards.
Survivors include sons, James B. Roberts Jr., of Middletown, Donald E. Roberts, of Carlisle and Ricky L. Roberts, of Hamilton; a daughter, Brenda Caudill, of Middletown; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a sister, Ann McCloud, of Blue Ball.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, 1500 Manchester Ave., Middletown. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton.
Karrie Ann Roberts
Karrie Ann Ronto Roberts, 55, of Middletown, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at her residence.
She was born in Middletown on May 11, 1943, the daughter of Lehman C. Ronto and Anna A (Mail) Ronto. Mrs. Roberts worked for Square D Co. for 34 years, retiring on Jan. 1, 1999. She had also worked part-time in women's apparel at Elder Beerman for 12 years. She belonged to Holy Family Parish. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and had been a Sweetheart Ball queen. At Square D, she was involved with the Angel Tree Committee, EAP Committee and Junior Achievement.
Among her survivors are her mother, Anna (Mail) Ronto of Middletown; a son, Gregory James (Debbie) Roberts of Middletown; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Roberts of Monroe; a special companion, William Lehman of Middletown; a lifelong friend, Bennett L. Roberts of Middletown; three brothers, Richard J. (Annette) Ronto of Camden, and Roscoe Alan (Sherry) Ronto and Kenneth J. Ronto, both of Middletown; a sister, Carolyn Sue (Jamie) Sweet of Middletown; a sister-in-law, Lynn Ronto of Kansas City, Kan.; and two grandchildren, Thaddeus and Bryce Weidle.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lehman C. Ronto in 1971; and a brother, Charles Ronto.
ARRANGEMENTS: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Chapel of Holy Family Parish, with Father John Civille as celebrant. Interment will be at Mound Cemetery in Monroe.

Hager Robinson
Hager Robinson, 91, of 3084 Lynn Driver, Hunter, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 10, 1999, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
He was born in Jackson, Ky., on July 19, 1907, a son of France and Callie (Gabbard) Robinson. He worked for many years as a miner for the Blue Diamond Coal Co. Mr. Robinson was a life member of Hazard Masonic Lodge 676.
He is survived by his daughter, Betty Shillinglaw (husband William) of Franklin; two grandchildren, Leah Basley (husband Jerry) and Greg Shillinglaw (wife Joyce); two great-grandchildren, Emily and Kyle; and two brothers, Granville of Middletown and Mervin of Franklin.
His wife, Maudie, preceded him in death in 1987.

Jean D. Rainey
Mrs. Jean D. Rainey, 68, of Mount Pleasant Village, Monroe, died Thursday morning, March 25, 1999, at her residence.
She was a retired social worker who had worked for the state of Ohio for 12 years and retired in 1998. Mrs. Rainey was a member of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Phi Epsilon Omega Sorority and was a volunteer tutor at Taft Elementary School.
She is survived by her husband, Keith A. Rainey; two sons, Frank Currin and James Currin of Rochester, Minn.; three stepsons, Keith Allen Rainey Jr. of West Chester, Ohio, James Rainey of Ennis, Texas and David Rainey of Ledyard, Conn,; a stepdaughter, Lyn Westermann of Richmond, Va.; two sisters, Bobbi Young and Dottie Ray Koch of Richmond, Va.; and four step grandchildren, Jason Rainey, Katie and Jay Westermann and Stephen Rainey.

Sherman Rains
Sherman Rains, 74, of 8525 Red Lion-Five Point Road, Springboro, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at Sycamore Hospital.
He was born on Aug. 11, 1924, in Barbourville, Ky., the son of James and Sally Oxendine Rains. He was a member of Pennyroyal Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the VFW, and a member of the NRA.
He served in the Army during World War II in anti-aircraft. He was employed by General Motors for 30 years at Frigidaire and Delco Air, retiring from inspection in 1980. He also worked part time at Eaton-Anderson-Unglesby Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Myrtle A. Rains, of Springboro; a stepson, Sherwin Hensley, of Carlisle; a stepdaughter, Patricia Spiraling, of Mesa, Ariz.; daughters Debbie Combs, of Pittsburgh, Pa., Carol Wendling, of Dayton, and Margie Parrish, of Florida; a sister, Martha Miller, of Barbourville, Ky.; six grandsons; eight granddaughters; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Marilyn Ramsey
Mrs. Marilyn Ramsey, 57, formerly of Middletown, passed away at her residence in Hamilton on Monday, March 22, 1999.
She was born on March 24, 1941, in Middletown, Ohio, the daughter of Georgia Martin and Willie Ellis. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Middletown.
Mrs. Ramsey was educated in Middletown public schools. She was joined in marriage to George Ramsey on Feb. 6, 1965. Marilyn was a devoted mother as well as providing care for many others in her family and extended family.
She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Ramona (Marty) Jackson, Carol (Charlie) Ponder, Jennifer Ramsey and Ronneka Ramsey, all of Hamilton, Ohio; six sisters, Ruth Marie (James) Turner of Hamilton, Pauline (Rufus) Trammell and Mattie Freeman, both of Middletown, Ruby (Elijah) Robinson of Springhill, La., and Joyce Thomas and Ursuline Ellis, both of Cleveland, Ohio; and a brother, William Martin of Middletown. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Nicole Ramsey; and two sisters, Carolyne Martin and Louise Martin.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today, March 26, at Christ Temple Church of God in Christ, 577 S. Second St., Hamilton, with Elder B.A. Curtis officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Bonnie Redd
Mrs. Bonnie Rose Redd, 74, a resident of Barbara Parke Convalescent Center, died Thursday morning, March 25, 1999, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
She was born in Winchester, Ky., on July 12, 1924, and had been a resident of this area for more than 50 years. She had worked at Garden Manor Nursing Home and also as a nurse's aide at Middletown Regional Hospital, caring for the sick and elderly for more than 20 years. Mrs. Redd attended Trenton Church of the Nazarene for 20 years, Grand Avenue Church of God for 10 years, and recently had attended Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, William David Redd, George Milton Redd and James Franklin Redd; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William D. and Josephine (Chester) Medley; her husband, George Redd; a daughter, Carolyn Lucille Redd; a great- grandson; four sisters; and two brothers.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Breitenbach- McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Keith Risner officiating. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery.

Deanna Rickard
Deanna Rickard, 50, of Franklin, died Monday, March 15, 1999, at Miami Valley Hospital.
She was born on Sept. 30, 1948, in Middletown and spent her entire life in the community.
She was a secretary for Warren County Community Services for 15 years. She was also a member of Solid Rock Church.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Mike Rickard; two sons, Chris Rickard, and his wife, Robin, of Franklin, and Kevin Rickard, and his wife, Katie, of Monroe; two grandsons, Justin Rickard, and expected grandson, Kyle Rickard; two sisters, Debbie Collins, of Middletown, and Beverly Haddix, of Middletown; and her parents, Charles Williams and Rose Mary Williams.

Helen Rioux
Helen Rioux, 60, of 112 Orchard St., died Sunday morning, March 14, 1999, at Bethesda Warren County Health Center.
She was born Nov. 5, 1938, in Viper, Ky., the daughter of Homer H. Lewis and Grace Z. Edwards. She had been a resident of Middletown since 1954. She was a caregiver to many people.
She is survived by a daughter, Kristina Rioux of Middletown; a sister and a brother-in-law, Evelyn and Luther Pratt of Middletown; a brother, Homer T. Lewis of Middletown; two nieces, Michelle Dawson of Chicago and Jennifer Breitenbach of Citrus Heights, Calif., and two nephews, Michael Hall of Ashburn, Va., and Brian Lewis of Miamisburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lillian Breitenbach.

Dorothy P. Roberts
FRANKLIN -- Mrs. Dorothy P. Roberts, 92, formerly of 425 Mission Lane, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 1999, at the Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Community where she resided for the past 4 1/2 years.
She was born on Feb. 8, 1907, in Kings Mills, Ohio, the daughter of Aaron J. and Carrie L. Stokes Trimble. Mrs. Roberts had been a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Franklin since 1939, a member of the 60 Plus or Minus Club and gave 9,000 hours to the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program of USA.
She is survived by her daughter, Arlene Fry of Lebanon; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dova, in 1960; a son, Richard Roberts in 1995; and a grandson.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Unglesby-Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin, with the Rev. Kelvin Benton officiating. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery in Franklin.

Faye Robbins, 90, of Middletown, died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 4, 1908, in Blountville, Tenn., and spent 65 years in the Middletown area. She was a homemaker and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Robbins; parents, A.D. and Lydia Cartwright; brothers, Allen and Harley Cartwright; a sister, Milliga Butler; and two grandsons.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas A. Robbins, and his wife, Anna May, of Perrysburg, John W. Robbins, and his wife, Carol A., of Monroe, and Richard Robbins, and his wife, Trish, of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Nancy Draut, of Bath, Maine, Mary Lou Salzar, and her husband, Ray, of Palo Alto, Calif., and Betsy Schwitzer, and her husband, Marty, of Clearwater, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Reva Martin, of Middletown, and Matalene Wiley, of Oxford; and four sister-in-laws, Leona Cartwright, of Eaton, Opal Cartwright, of Atlanta, Ga., Pauline Robbins, of Middletown, and Ruth Koontz, of Tucson, Ariz.
