Michael B. Sheskey
Michael Baldwin Sheskey, 13, of Austin, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 21, 1999, in Denver, Colo.
He was a lover of life and a beloved son and brother.
Michael was born to Susan and Mike on June 10, 1985, in Arlington Heights, Ill. He was a seventh-grade student at Hill Country Middle School in Westlake, Texas.
Michael is survived by his parents, Susan and Mike; his brother, Matthew; his grandparents, Evelyn and Ed Baldwin of Monroe, Ohio; his aunt, Ella, and uncle, Steve Baldwin, of Cold Spring, Ky.; his aunt, Cindy, and uncle, Jim Baldwin, of South Lyon, Mich.; his aunt, Kay, and uncle, Dick Barrett, of San Antonio; his aunt, Judy, and uncle, Jim Parsons of Bartlesville, Okla.; his aunt, Mary Sheskey of Hilliard, Ohio; his aunt, Rhonda, and uncle, Roland Sheskey, of Grove City, Ohio; and numerous cousins.

Marjorie Lee Slough
Mrs. Marjorie Lee Slough, 75, of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at Mount Pleasant Village in Monroe.
She was born in Middletown, Ohio, on Oct. 27, 1923, to William Slone and Carrie Mae Wysong Slone. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Slough was active for 50 years in Girl Scouts as a leader, trainer and director. She had received the THANKS Badge, the highest award a Girl Scout could receive at that time. She was a former member of the Trenton city charter committee. In the early 1970s, she opened and operated the Trenton license bureau.
Survivors include her husband, David E. Slough of Monroe; three sons, Terry L Slough of Huachuca City, Ariz., Gerald L. (Rebecca) Slough of Monroe and Douglas R. (Toni) Slough of Middletown; two daughters, Joyce A. (Larry) Duff of Trenton and Tracy D. (Steve) McIntosh of Middletown; her mother, Carrie Mae Wysong Slone of Middletown; a brother, William Slone of Trenton; two sisters, Ruth Ekegren of Oak Creek, Wis., and Janet (William) Buehner of Franklin; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Slone; a brother-in-law, Donald Ekegren; and a sister-in-law, Marge Slone.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jack Lawson officiating. Burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park in Wayne Township.

Anna T. Snowden
Mrs. Anna T. Snowden, 85, of Lemon Township, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 25, 1999, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
She was born on June 19, 1913, to John and Anna Demeter. Mrs. Snowden was a homemaker, a member of Holy Family Parish and Middletown Senior Citizens. She leaves a son, Raymond J. (Sharon) Snowden of Monroe; a daughter, Barbara (Phillip) Lawson of Monroe; two stepbrothers, Frank Mato of Middletown and Jim Mato of Franklin; three stepsisters, Irene Ellis and Rose Nelson, both of California, and Helen Gardner of Cleveland, Ohio; four grandchildren, Karen Young, Keith Lawson, Amy Brooks and Scott Snowden; and a great-grandchild, Kaitlin Young.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, in 1982; her parents; and a daughter, Katherine Eller.

Ray Sorrell
Ray Sorrell, 68, of Camden, died Friday, March 12, 1999, at noon at the Middletown Regional Hospital emergency room.
He was born Jan. 4, 1931, in Menifee County, Ky., and had lived in Middletown for 40 years. He worked in construction for B.D. Morgan Co. for 39 years before retiring in 1993. He was a member of University Baptist Church, the Gratis Odd Fellows Lodge 147, and the Kentucky Colonels.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Loretta; two sons, Anthony Ray Sorrell, of Camden, and William Allen Sorrell, of Trenton; a daughter, Beverly Sue Harrison, and her husband, Troy, of Middletown; four grandchildren, Brandon and Miranda Harrison, Christine Sorrell, and LaShea Sorrell; four sisters, Willa Mae Heath, of Morehead, Ky., Imogene Perry, of Pasadena, Texas, Donna Dir, of St. Charles, Mo., and Barbara Whitt, of Frenchburg, Ky.; six brothers, Kenneth Sorrell, of Middletown, Larry Sorrell, of Franklin, Charles Sorrell, of Frenchburg, Ky., Dale Sorrell, of Texas, Rick Sorrell, of Pasadena, Texas, and Vernon Sorrell, of Lexington, Ky.; and an uncle, Alvie Sorrell, of Middletown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Mable (Reed) Sorrell; and a brother, James Sorrell.

Ruth Leona Spicer
Ruth Leona Spicer, 68, of 1927 Roosevelt Blvd., died at her residence on Tuesday, March 23, 1999.
She was born on Feb. 4, 1931, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Thelma Price Berry.
She had been employed by Ohio Bell Telephone Co. for more than 30 years as a telephone operator. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Survivors include a son, Richard E. Combs of Kettering, Ohio, and a daughter, Linda J. Spicer of Quakertown, Pa.
ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. J. William Pearch officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.

Charles H. Steiner
Charles Henry Steiner, 89, of Middletown, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at Hawthorne Glen Nursing Home.
A member of the community since 1988, Mr. Steiner was born in Queens, N.Y., on May 31, 1909.
He worked in maintenance at F&M Shaffer Brewing Co. in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was affiliated with Holy Family Parish.
His wife, Vera Steiner, died in 1994. Mr. Steiner was also preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elizabeth Steiner.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane Parmer and husband Edward G. of Middletown; two grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Jones and husband Edward of Dayton, and Edward Randall Parmer and wife Bernadette of Pearl River, N.Y.; seven great-grandchildren, Crystal Lynn Caldwell, Jessica Holly Jones, Brittany Leianna Jones, Brandon Garth Jones and Dylan Ross Jones, all of Dayton, Andrew Parmer of Michigan and Noah David Parmer of Pearl River, N.Y.; and a brother, Gerald Steiner of Fairfield.

Ruth L. Tillman
Mrs. Ruth L. Tillman, 86, of Middletown, died at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 1998, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
She was born in Cincinnati, the daughter of John and Rose (Englert) Kuhlman. She married Theodore Tillman in 1937 in Hamilton and he preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1970. She was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Middletown.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Tillman and wife Jean of Hamilton, John (Jerry) Tillman and wife Shirley, and Thomas Tillman, all of Middletown; one daughter, Barbara Little and husband Milford of Middletown; one brother, Paul Kuhlman of Hamilton; seven grandchildren, Tammy Moreland, Kathy Davidson, Richard Tillman, Sheri Roetger, Jennifer Carder, Jessica Little and Ashley Tillman; and five great-grandchildren, Brett Carder, Michael Moreland, Darrel Davidson, Jerika Tillman and Bailey Tillman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters, Esther Smith and Clara Bowling.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peters in Chains Catholic Church, Ridgelawn Avenue at Liberty Avenue in Hamilton, with the Rev. William Schwartz officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Winnie Thomas
Mrs. Winnie Thomas, 87, of Middletown, passed away Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
She was born in Menifee County, Ky., on March 21, 1911, and had lived here for 57 years. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by a son, Ralph Thomas (Jo) of Franklin; two daughters, Jean (David) Bowley of Franklin and Ruby (Doug) Elrod of Wilmington, N.C.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Woodrow Spencer of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Turner Spencer of Dayton, Ohio; and a sister, Louise Spencer of Kettering.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Thomas, in 1997; her parents, Jesse and Ella Spencer; an infant son; her granddaughter, Linda Jo Thomas; five brothers, Allen, Leonard, John, Lee and Frank Spencer; and three sisters, Bertha Back, JoAnn Johnson and Nancy Clayton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home, 1500 Manchester Ave., with the Rev. Glen Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.

Ella Fay Taulbee
Mrs. Ella Fay Taulbee, 56, of 1608 Glenwood Ave., died Wednesday morning, June 24, 1998, at her residence.
She was born in Lenoir City, Tenn., on Jan. 3, 1942, a daughter of Harvey E. and Mary Elizabeth (Tinell) Roberts. Mrs. Taulbee had worked as a cook at Mount Pleasant Retirement Center. She was a member of Eagles Lodge 534.
She is survived by her husband, Ray K. Taulbee; a daughter, Sheila Taulbee; her mother, Mrs. Mary E. Roberts of Middletown; two sisters, Hazel Eads of West Chester and Diane Robinson of Middletown; and three brothers, Johnny Ray Roberts of Morehead, Ky., Leon Roberts of Camden, and James Roberts of Raleigh, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Peggy Cornett; a brother, Junior Roberts; and a nephew, John Cornett Jr.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pentecostal Highway of Holiness Church, with Pastor L.L. Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.

Dr. Charles R. Taylor
Dr. Charles R. Taylor passed away Sunday, July 5, 1998, after a long illness.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Evelyn Taylor; his daughters, Kitty (Jim) Kramer and Susan (Jeffrey) Stevens; sisters, Barbara Doyle and Betty Taylor, both of Cincinnati, and Charlotte Rehnberg, of Fort Collins, Colo.; grandchildren, Michael, Sharon and Scott Taylor, Bev Martin, Gabe Holt, Rachael Purdy, Julianne and Ethan Aronoff, and Kelsea Stevens; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Alan Richard Taylor; two sisters, Kathleen and Eleanor; and great-grandchild, Chelsea Dawn Purdy.
He retired in 1975 as manager at the refining and refractories section, research and technology at Armco Steel Corp. He was elected to serve as president of the Metallurgical Society in 1971. He was vice president and director of AIME and on the TMS board of directors and executive committee. He also served as North Central Region Delegate for the AIME Section Affairs Committee. He had served on the physical chemistry of Steelmaking Committee from 1942 to 1971, and was chairman from 1952-53. He served as chairman of the Iron and Steel Division of TMS in 1964.
Dr. Taylor graduated from Ohio State University in 1932 with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and received his masters of science at the school in 1933. He then joined Armco Steel Corp. as an analyst in the lab at Middletown. In 1934, he was made a Junior Metallurgist and then a lab assistant in 1936. From 1937 to 1941, Dr. Taylor was Armco Steel Corp. Fellow at the University of Cincinnati, where he received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry in 1941. He was named Junior Research Engineer at Armco and Senior Research Engineer. In 1944, he was made Supervisory Research Metallurgist. He was responsible for the directing of Meltint, Refining and Refractory research in 1969.
He holds several patents pertaining to steelmaking and wrote numerous articles and papers on the subject. He was co-author of a chapter in "Electric Furnace Steelmaking.'' His specialties were physical chemistry of slag metal systems, magnetic alloys, and deep drawing steels. In 1946, he was awarded the McCune Award of TMS. He worked as a consultant for Armco for several years after his retirement.
Dr. Taylor was active outside of his professional career. He was a member of the American Foundrymen's Society. He piloted his plane and went on many hunting and fishing trips, including a trip to Alaska. He was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the American Bonanza Society, and the Middletown Aviation Club. He learned to scuba dive at the age of 69 and dove the waters of the Red Sea and the Galapagos Islands. Besides being an excellent hunter and game fisherman, he enjoyed astronomy and photography.

Joe Thomas
Joe "J.D.'' Thomas, 58, of Middletown, died Friday, July 10, 1998.
He was born on Nov. 9, 1939, in Middletown.
He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and worked as a hot strip mill worker at Armco Steel for 34 years, before retiring in 1993.
He was a member of the Wildwood Golf Club and the Antioch Temple A.A.O.N.M.S.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Artie Thomas.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Faye Thomas, of Middletown; daughters, Debbie Thomas, Rita Thomas, and Jill Thomas, all of Middletown, and Angie Thomas, of Centerville; five grandchildren, Ashley, Malcom, Taylor, A.J., and Jesse; a brother, the Rev. Glen E. Thomas, of Hamilton; a sister, June Jackson, of Middletown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosa Taylor
Mrs. Rosa Taylor, 83, of Middletown, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at her residence.
Born in Beattyville, Ky., on April 7, 1915, she lived here most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of Springhill Church of Christ in Middletown.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by four sons and their wives, R.C. and Geneva Taylor of Winter Haven, Fla., Varney and Teresa Taylor of Somerville, Oral and Pam Taylor of Middletown, and Gary and Judi Taylor of Spring Valley, Ohio; four daughters and their husbands, Betty and Joe Kennedy of Trenton, June and David Hom of Middletown, Fern and Charles Carr of Hamilton and Ethel and Thomas Evans of Dayton; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert Begley of Beattyville, Ky.; two sisters, Nora Tirey of Fairfield and Edna Sizemore of South Lebanon, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Amanda Begley; her husband, Ottis Taylor, in 1974; a daughter, Jean James, in 1995, and her husband, Harold, in 1998; a grandson, Russell Craig Taylor, in 1982; and three brothers and six sisters.

Howard Thompson
FRANKLIN -- Howard Thompson, 76, of 14 Lynn St., died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
He was born in Middletown, Ohio, on Feb. 21, 1922, the son of Charles and Minnie Belle (Lawson) Thompson. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. Thompson was employed by W.L. Harper Construction Co. until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lois Tooley; and two brothers, Cecil and Ercel Thompson.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Helen (Abney) Thompson; three sons and daughters-in-law, William and Teresa Thompson of Franklin, Anthony and Linda Thompson of Kettering and Bryan and Juanita Thompson of Riverside, Ohio; three daughters and sons-in-law, Delores and Sam Stone of Franklin, Phyllis and Garman Lewis of Miamisburg and Karen and Harold Bates of London, Ky.; a son-in-law, Michael Tooley; a brother, Carl Thompson of Annville, Ky.; three sisters, Verna Noble of Melbourne, Fla., Bertha White of Franklin and Verdun Eversole of Carlisle; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Norma Toedtman
GERMANTOWN - Norma P. Toedtman, 88, of Germantown, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at her residence.
Mrs. Toedtman attended Grace A. Grene Teachers College, University of Dayton and University of Cincinnati, and thereafter taught school in Dayton and Germantown for 38 years.
Mrs. Toedtman was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school classes and sang in the choir for 35 years. She was a charter member of the Germantown Historical Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Toedtman, in 1997.
She is survived by two nephews, Wilbur Sprinkel of Reno, Nev., and Richard and Ann Hartzell and family of Orchard Lake, Mich., a niece, Mary Niswander of Oklahoma; a great-nephew, Stephen Sprinkel of Sparks, Nev.; and a brother-in-law, Herman Hartzell of Centerville, Ohio.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at Arpp & Root Funeral Home, Germantown, with pastor Sivaji Subramaniam officiating. Burial will be at Germantown Cemetery.

Edna Marie Trenum
Mrs. Edna Marie Trenum, 92, a resident of Willow Knoll Retirement Community, died Sunday morning, Jan. 10, 1999.
She was born in Elk Garden, W.Va., on Aug. 28, 1906, a daughter of Jesse and Elizabeth (Poland) Metcalf. She and her late husband, the Rev. C.W. Trenum, had pastored multiple churches in the mid-Atlantic region and, while in Middletown, had pastored Full Gospel Tabernacle and First Christian Assembly of God. In her later years, Mrs. Trenum belonged to the local Christian Assembly of God.
She is survived by nine sons and their wives, C.W. Jr., and his wife, Claudia, of Warrenton, Va., Donald and Alice of Locust Grove, Va., Norman and Ruby of Middletown, David and Mary of Clermont, Ind., Fitzhugh and Phyllis of Middletown, Raymond, and Barbara, of Warrenton, Va., Gilbert and Blenda, of Manassas, Va., Ronald and Vicki, of Franklin, and Gary and Mary, of Oakwood, Ohio; 25 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Marple of Oakland, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanne.

H. Evelyn Tucker
SOMERVILLE -- Mrs. H. Evelyn Tucker, 81, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord at 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at her residence.
She was born in Preston County, W.Va., on Dec. 10, 1917, to William and Amanda (Keith) Pratt. She married Harold E. Tucker on Nov. 24, 1933, in Oakland, Md. Mrs. Tucker was a member of the Greenbush United Methodist Church. She had traveled extensively and her hobbies included painting.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Frederick L. and Sally Tucker of Somerville; a daughter-in-law, Remona Tucker of Camden; a foster son, Steven DeJarnette, and his wife, Sandy, of Crestview, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Harold E. Tucker, Sandra Chewning, Lisa Wetter, Ann Marie Jones, David Tucker, Wyatt Tucker and Steven DeJarnette II; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years, Harold; a son, Harold Leo Tucker; and two brothers, Emery and Durr Pratt.

Jimmie D. Turner
FRANKLIN -- Jimmie D. Turner, 56, of 1138 Dale Ave., passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 4, 1943, in Hazard, Ky., the son of Barry and Mary Elizabeth (Watts) Turner. Mr. Turner worked at McGraw Construction Co. until 1979.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Trisha Brewer.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Carolyn; his mother, Mary Myers of Pompano Beach, Fla.; a son Jimmie Darrell Turner Jr. of Franklin; two daughters, Letha Moon and Kimberly Robinson, both of Franklin; three brothers, Bill and Granville Turner, both of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Walt Turner of Lebanon; two sisters, Jo Ann Sinna and Gladys Croft, both of Coconut Creek, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.

Robert Lee Tussey
FRANKLIN -- Robert Lee Tussey, 39, of 600 E. Fourth St., died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, in Franklin.
He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on Dec. 1, 1959, the son of Thomas G. and Virginia Thacker Tussey. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1978 and was employed by Appleton Paper Co. in West Carrollton the past 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Tussey, in 1967; two uncles, Jerry and Tommy Thacker; and his grandparents, Everett and Opal Thacker.
Surviving are two daughters, Alecia and Chelsea Tussey of Liberty, Ind.; his father and stepmother, Thomas G. and Arlene Tussey of Franklin; two stepbrothers, Gerald Quillen of Franklin and Terry Quillen of Middletown; a sister, Teresa Sanitano of Emporium, Kan.; and grandmother, Ana Tussey of Miamisburg.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Unglesby-Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin, with the Rev. Chuck Purvis officiating. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery.

Alden D. Tucker
Alden Downan Tucker, 71, of 102 Lance Drive, Franklin, died at 10:20 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998, at his residence.
He was born in Lawrence County, Ga., on March 15, 1927, the son of Roy Lee and Gladys Gilder Tucker.
He was a member of Eastern Star Lodge No. 55, Free and Accepted Masons and the Monroe Baptist Church. Mr. Tucker was employed by General Motors Truck and Bus Division for 18 years and retired in 1987 from the Paint Department.
Surviving are his wife of 51 1/2 years, Maurice Register Tucker; three sons, Monty Tucker of Middletown, Dale S. Tucker of Rock Hill, S.C., and Marvin K. Tucker of West Chester; a daughter, Dena Tucker Ankney of Franklin; two sisters, Rowenita Register of Winter Haven, Fla., and Runell Churchwell of Dublin, Ga.; three grandchildren; and one step grandchild.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services are Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Unglesby-Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin, with the Rev. David Hill officiating. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Masonic services at 6:30 p.m.
Etsuko Tipton
Mrs. Etsuko Tipton, 66, of Middletown, died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at her residence.
She was born in Manchuria, China, on April 22, 1932, and had lived in the Middletown area for 38 years. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jesse J. Tipton; two sisters, Michko Arai and Shacko Nagamana, both of Japan; and a brother, Mr. T. Arai of Japan.
ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodside Cemetery Chapel, with the Rev. Greg Wallace officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Mausoleum. There will be no visitation.

Harold L. Tinch
Harold Lee Tinch, 68, of 416 East St., Franklin, died Friday, March 26, 1999, at 7 p.m. at Middletown Regional Hospital.
He was born in Franklin on April 11, 1930, the son for Elbert M. and Verta L. "Hensley" Tinch. He was employed by Interstate Folding Box for 36 years, retiring in 1984.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Gordon M. Tinch.
Surviving are a brother, Claude E. Tinch of Winnsboro, S.C.; three sisters, Daisy L. Dearth of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Lois G. Frisby of Middletown and Sue A. Moore of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

Roger M. Tolson
Roger M. Tolson, 67, of Middletown, died Friday, March 12, 1999, at his residence.
He was born in Middletown on July 20, 1931. He was in the Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He worked as a printer at Armco for 34 years before retiring in 1982. He was a member of Breiel Boulevard Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mort and Addie Tolson; and a sister, Marie Bales. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Peggy Tolson; a son, Mark Roger Tolson, and his wife, Carol, of Fairborn; two grandchildren, Matthew Roger Tolson and Megan Elizabeth Tolson; two brothers, Sterling Tolson, and his wife, Eleanor, of Monroe, and Marion Tolson, and his wife, Wilma, of Lady Lake, Fla.; and a sister, Opal Miller, of Brandon, Fla.

Charles Tucker
Charles Tucker, 78, of Monroe, died Wednesday morning, March 3, 1999, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
He was born in Middletown on Jan. 18, 1921. An Army veteran of World War II, he was retired from Armco Steel Co. Mr. Tucker was a member and past master of the Jefferson Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by a daughter, Vanessa Wynn of Nashville, Tenn.; two sons, Tilden C. "Tim," and his wife, Debbie, of Monroe, Ohio, and Charles Thomas "Tom," and his wife, Annetta, of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandsons, Dale E. of Douglasville, Ga., Charles T. Jr. of Kodak, Tenn., Michael S. of Marietta, Ga., Timothy W. of Canton, Ga., and Jonathan Q. of Waleska, Ga.; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Faye Bach Tucker; his sisters, Evelyn and Elmira; and a brother, Melvin.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery. American Legion Post 218 Color Guard will provide graveside military honors.

Jane Tullis
Mrs. Jane Tullis, 81, of 4401 Poppy Drive, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at her residence.
She was born in Middletown on Aug. 20, 1917, the daughter of Harvey and Elva (Gardner) Sutton. She was a life member of the Pythian Sisters, having received her 50-year pin, a member of the CIC Class and a longtime member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Janet and Galen Minnich and Nancy and Roy Croswell, all of Springboro; a sister, Betty Downs of Middletown; and a brother, Harvey Sutton of Middletown.
Her husband, Glenn Tullis, died in 1978.

Lonnie Turner
Lonnie Turner, 45, of Middletown, passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, in Richmond, Ky.
He was born on July 9, 1953, in Middletown, Ohio. He was a press break operator at Square D Co. and retired after 21 years of service.
Mr. Turner is survived by his parents; his wife of 18 years; his children; a grandson; a sister and brother; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles cousins and friends.
