Anna E. Sorrell
Anna E. Sorrell, 87, of Eaton, died Oct. 12, 2000 at Van Crest Health Care Center in Eaton. She was born May 16, 1913, in Twin Township, Ohio.
Funeral services were held Oct. 16 at the R.C. Nein & Sons--Thompson Funeral Home. Burial followed at Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton.

Audley A. Sandro
Audley A. Sandro, 80, of Oxford, formerly of Pinehurst, N.C. and Oak Park, Ill., died Oct. 14, 2000 at Woodland Country Manor. She was born Feb. 21, 1920 in Ironwood, Mich. She was an active member of P.E.O. and a longtime church volunteer at the First Congregational Church in Oak Park, Ill.
Funeral services were held Oct. 16 at the Smith & Ogle Funeral Home in Oxford. Burial was in the Oxford Cemetery.
Cecil E. Coffman
Cecil E. Coffman, 87, of Liberty, Ind., died at Reid Hospital, Richmond, Ind., Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000. He was born on Dec. 11, 1912 in Union County, Ind.
He has lived all his life in the Union County area and had farmed all his adult life there. He drove a school bus for the Union County Schools for 20 years.
Funeral services were conducted at the Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel, Liberty, Ind. Burial was at West Point Cemetery, Liberty, Ind.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Brownsville United Methodist Church in his memory at the funeral home.
Myrl E. Gross
Myrl E. Gross, 90, of Oxford, formerly of Hamilton, died Monday morning, Oct. 16, 2000 at the Oxford View Nursing Center. He was born Feb. 17, 1910 in Camden.
He worked at Baldwin-Lima Hamilton for 19 years and later retired from the Hamilton Tool Company.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Smith & Ogle Funeral Home, Oxford. Burial was in Somerville Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, 1200 Main St., Hamilton, OH 45013, or to the Oxford View Nursing Center, 6099 Fairfield Road, Oxford, OH 45056.
Barbara Joan Isaacs
Barbara J. Isaacs, 56, of Oxford, died Oct. 14, 2000 at her residence. She was born May 27, 1944, in Franklin, Ohio.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 20, at the Smith & Ogle Funeral Home, Oxford. Burial was in the Springboro Cemetery, Franklin, Ohio.
James O. Silver
James O. Silver, 83, of Camden, died Oct. 13, 2000 at Woodland Country Manor Nursing Home near Somerville. He was born Aug. 12, 1917 in Dixon Township, Preble County. A 1936 graduate of Dixon High School, he was a member of the Sugar Valley United Methodist Church and was a retired Dixon Township farmer.
Funeral services were Oct. 17 at the Barnes Funeral Home in Eaton, with the Rev. Kenn Barton officiating. Burial was in the Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton.

Donna Grace Allison
Donna Grace Allison, 68, formerly of Tiffin, Ohio, died Oct. 12, 2000 at her daughter's residence in Liberty, Ind. She was born Nov. 28, 1931 in Cleveland.
She was an in-home nurse and also did private duty nursing until retiring in 1996.
Private funeral services were conducted at the convenience of the family on Oct. 16. Burial was in West Point Cemetery in Liberty, Ind.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Reid Hospital Foundation for Hospice in her memory. The Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel, Liberty, Ind., was in charge of the arrangements.

Stephen A. Brack
Stephen A. Brack, 29, of Roann, Ind., died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born in Richmond, Ind. on Oct. 18, 1971.
He was a science teacher at North Miami High School in Denver, Ind. He was starting his fourth year at North Miami and taught chemistry and physics. He also served as the assistant volleyball coach and the academic team coach.
Funeral services were held at the Liberty Church of Christ on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000. Burial was in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens near Boston, Ind.
Contributions may be made to the Stephen A. Brack Memorial Scholarship Fund through the Union County Community Foundation.
Roxanne Brandenburg
Roxanne Brandenburg, 47, of St. Petersburg, Fla. and a former resident of the Liberty, Ind. area, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born in Connersville, Ind. on May 23, 1953.
She lived in the Liberty area until 1980 when she moved to Tampa, Fla. She was employed by General Telephone Co., both in the Liberty area and in Tampa.
Funeral services were held at Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel in Liberty on Friday, Oct. 27. Burial was in West Point Cemetery in Liberty.
Contributions may be made to the Hannas Creek Christian Church or to the American Cancer Society.
Roy Edward Blakely
Roy Edward Blakely, 85, of Liberty, Ind., died at his residence on Friday, Oct. 20, 2000. He was born in Mauldin, Missouri, on June 15, 1915.
Private funeral services were held at Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker-Fosdick Chapel in Liberty, Ind. at the convenience of the family. Burial was in West Point Cemetery in Liberty. Contributions may be made to the Liberty Church of Christ in his memory.
Lillian D. (McCullough) Turner
Lillian Dorothy (McCullough) Turner, 83, of Oxford, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000 at the Oxford View Nursing Center. She was born April 27, 1917 in Nashville, Tenn.
She married Marvelle F. Turner, Sr. on June 2, 1938. They were married 62 years. She was a member of the Bethel AME Church in Oxford. She was a stewardess and was very active in the church for many years.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Woodside Cemetery in Oxford. The Smith and Ogle Funeral Home of Oxford are in charge of the arrangements.
John T. Blankenship
John T. Blankenship, 91, of Dayton, died on Oct. 10, 2000 at the Miami Valley
Hospital. He was a former Oxford resident. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret McNeil Blankenship.
Donations in his name may be given to the Colorado Avenue Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 101 Heaton St., Dayton.

Nellie M. Kidwell
Nellie M. Kidwell, 76, of Oxford, died Oct. 27 at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 11, 1923 in Germantown, Ohio. She married Charles Kidwell on Oct. 18, 1940 and he preceded her death on Nov. 8, 1984.
She was a long-time member of the Alpha Zeta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority, an active member of the Oxford United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the Smith & Ogle Funeral Home, Oxford. Burial was in the Somerville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or the Oxford United Methodist Church.
Devon Alan Smith
Devon Alan Smith, infant son of Jeremy and Diana (Skillings) Smith of Fairfield, Ohio, died Oct. 29 at the Ft. Hamilton Hospital.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Webb Noonan Funeral Home is serving the family.
Roy Edward Blakely
Roy Edward Blakely, 85, of Liberty, Ind., died at his residence on Friday, Oct. 20, 2000. He was born in Mauldin, Missouri, on June 15, 1915.

Marian M. Eiler
Marian M. Eiler, 96, died Oct. 28 at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital. She was a resident of Woodland Country Manor Nursing Home, Somerville. She was born March 22, 1904 in Butler County. She married Roy Eiler on Aug. 21, 1920, and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1980. They celebrated 60 years together and farmed in the West Chester and Somerville areas, raising grain and dairy cattle. In later life, they distributed eggs throughout the area.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the Somerville Presbyterian Church in Somerville. The Smith & Ogle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in the Somerville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial donations may be made to the Somerville United Presbyterian Church.
Lora Pauline Kline
Lora Pauline Kline died at Tucson Medical Center, Tucson, Ariz., on Oct. 24. She was born in College Corner, Ohio on March 5, 1932.
She graduated from College Corner School in 1950 and then was certified as an X-ray technician at Reid Memorial Hospital, Richmond, Ind. She had made her home in Tucson since 1962, where she worked for Radiology Limited for many years.
Cremation was held in Tucson and her ashes were scattered over Mt. Lemon, Ariz., a place she dearly loved.
Millard "Doug" Hisle
Millard "Doug" Hisle, 54, of Oxford, died in Wellington Manor on oct. 24. He was born in Connersville, Ind., on Nov. 12, 1945. He was a cook for various restaurants in Hamilton and Oxford for 10 years, retiring in 1979.
Funeral services were held Oct. 28 at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home. Burial was in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Elizabeth I. McQuiston
Elizabeth I. McQuiston, 85, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Oxford, died Oct. 23 at Llanfair Retirement Community in Cincinnati. She was born Sept. 30, 1915, in Morning Sun, Ohio.
A graveside service was held Oct. 27 at the Oxford Cemetery. The Smith and Ogle Funeral Home was in charge of the services.

Stephen Linn Hill, infant son of Vince and Bethany West Hill, was stillborn at Reid Memorial Hospital, Richmond, Ind. on Thursday, Nov. 2. He is survived by by his parents, Vince and Bethany West Hill, Liberty, Ind.
Private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Burial was in West Point Cemetery, Liberty, Ind.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Youth League Baseball Program in Stephen's memory.

Norman C. Paddock
Norman C. Paddock, 52, of 542 Liberty St., W. College Corner, Ind., died at his residence Saturday, Nov. 4. He was born on Feb. 18, 1948 in Oxford. He lived all of his life in the College Corner area.
He was a truck driver for many years but most recently was a factory worker at Amcast, Inc. in Richmond, Ind.
Funeral services were held at Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker Chapel in College Corner, Ohio on Tuesday, Nov. 7. Burial followed at Salem Cemetery in Union County, Ind.
Viola Combs
Viola "Virgie" (Merrill) Combs, 77, of Fairfield died Sunday, Nov. 5, at her home. She was born Jan. 2, 1923 in Butler County. She married Thomas Combs on Feb. 17, 1939 in Liberty, Ind. He preceded her in death.
She was employed as a cook at Miami University in Oxford until her retirement in 1990, after 20 years of service.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 8. Burial was at the Fairmount Cemetery in Camden.

Maxine C. Smith
Maxine C. Smith, 86, of Orlando, Florida died Thursday, Nov. 2, at an Orlando, Fla. hospital. She was born Jan. 28, 1914 in Gibbon, Neb. She had lived most of her life in Richmond and Bath, Ind. She had been in Florida for the past several years.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, College Corner, Ohio. Burial followed at College Corner Cemetery in W. College Corner, Ind.
Marjorie Wayland
Graveside services in Woodside Cemetery were Nov. 10 for Marjorie Beatrice Wayland, who died Nov. 5, after having suffered a debilitating illness early this year.
She was born in Oxford on Sept. 11, 1924. She graduated from Stewart High School and was self-employed as a domestic worker throughout her life.
The Smith & Ogle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, and there was no visitation.
H. Merle Himelick
H. Merle Himelick, 92, of 3048 Bath Rd., W. College Corner, Ind., died early Saturday morning, Nov. 4, at the Hillcrest Estates Nursing Home, Liberty, Ind. He was born on Sept. 25, 1908 in Franklin County, Ind.
He had lived all his life in the Franklin and Union County area. He farmed in Franklin County most of his life.
Public graveside services were conducted at the College Corner Cemetery, W. College Corner, Ind. on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Memorial contribution may be made to the Norbert Bleill Scholarship Fund in Himelick's memory.
Elizabeth J. DePew
Elizabeth J. DePew, 66, of 2909 Elgin Road, Oxford, died Sunday, Oct. 29, in the emergency room at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was born March 7, 1934 in Milan, Ind. She had lived in the Oxford area most of her life. She started working for GTE in 1970 as an operator and retired in 1996 as a switch worker.
Funeral services were held at the Showalter-Blackwell-Long Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, College Corner, Ohio on Nov. 3. Burial followed in College Corner Cemetery, W. College Corner, Ind.
Richard Arnold Moore
Richard Arnold Moore, 28, of Oxford, died, Tuesday, Oct. 31. He was born March 11, 1972, in Ft. Rucker, Alabama.
He was a 1990 graduate of Talawanda High School and served in the United States Navy from 1990 to 1993. He married Tanya Hammond of Hayward, Calif. For several years he had worked for various contractors in the area.
Funeral services were held Nov. 3 at the Brookville Road Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Oxford Cemetery.
Brent L. Myers
Brent L. Myers, 33, of 284 N. Industrial Park Road, Liberty, Ind., died Sunday, Oct. 29 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, from injuries sustained in a quad runner accident on Oct. 22 in Liberty. He was born Sept. 22, 1967 in Connersville, Ind.
For the past two years he owned and operated Myers Trucking Company and leased to McGown Trucking. Prior to that, he worked full time for the Shane Coffman Construction Company, Inc., in Liberty.
Funeral services were held at the Liberty Church of Christ in Liberty, Ind. on Nov. 3. Burial followed in College Corner Cemetery, W. College Corner, Ind.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Brent L. Myers Trucking Company Scholarship that will be set up by the Union County Foundation.

Grace O. Bourne
Grace O. Bourne, 93, died at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital on Thursday, Nov. 9, after a lengthy illness. She was born Aug. 17, 1908 in Reily Township. She married Ezra L. Bourne on Sept. 9, 1925, and lived in Indiana before moving to Oxford in 1953.
She served as a dedicated and loyal Housekeeping Manager at Miami University for 28 years before retiring in 1977.
The Smith & Ogle Funeral Home in Oxford was in charge of the arrangements. A private graveside service was held at the convenience of the family. Interment was in the Harmony Cemetery in Franklin County, Ind.
Memorials may be made to the Oxford Presbyterian Church, the Oxford Senior Citizens or the Oxford View Nursing Center in Oxford.
George E. Ellis
George E. Ellis, 88, formerly of Oxford, died Monday, Nov. 13 at Fort Hamilton-Hughes Hospital. He was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio, on Oct. 10, 1912 and was a 1934 graduate of Ohio State University. On Sept. 21, 1940, he married Kathleen Robinson of Cleveland.
They lived many years in Cincinnati where he was self-employed as a sales representative. They moved to Oxford where they lived for 22 years and then to Fort Myers, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1998.
A graveside service was held at the Oxford Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Smith & Ogle Funeral Home of Oxford assisted the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
Mary Elizabeth "Bib" Finkbine
Mary Elizabeth "Bib" Finkbine, 87, formerly of Oxford, died Monday, Nov. 6, at Berkeley Square Retirement Center in Hamilton. She was born Dec. 30, 1912 in Bath, Ind. She was a graduate of Stewart High School in Oxford. On June 8, 1934 she married Hugh Finkbine and he preceded her in death on may 13, 1975.
She was a nurse for many years in the Oxford area.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Smith & Ogle Funeral Home, Oxford.
There was a visitation prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial followed in the Oxford Cemetery.

Rose M. Kennedy
Rose M. Kennedy, 100, of Eaton, Ohio, died Saturday, Nov. 11, at Woodland Country Manor Nursing Home, near Somerville. Kennedy was born on Feb. 4, 1900 in Eaton. She married Carlyle F. Kennedy on Nov. 12, 1919 in Eaton.
Services were held on Monday, Nov. 13, at the R.C. Nein and Sons-Thompson Funeral Home. A memorial service followed.
