Carol A. Wolfe
Mrs. Carol Ann (Harvey) Wolfe, 32, of Lebanon, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at the Kettering Medical Center.
She was born in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Neil and Louise (McGuire) Harvey. She was a 1986 graduate of Lebanon High School. Mrs. Wolfe was employed at Pioneer Industrial Components in Springboro and had been employed part time for several years at Wal-Mart in Lebanon. She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge 344 in Lebanon and was very active in the Ridgeville Christian School where her daughter attends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Doris K. and Clarence L. Harvey and Stella McGuire.
She is survived by her husband, Rodney Wolfe; a daughter, Leah Ann Ross; her parents, Neil and Louise Harvey, all of Lebanon; her grandfather, Claude McGuire of Kentucky; a brother, Roger Harvey, and his wife, Carolyn, of Goshen; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Stephen Crank of Kettering and Teresa and Dan Brown of Seaman, Ohio; and 15 nieces and nephews.

James E. Alley Sr.
James Edward Alley Sr., 62, of Stanton, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 11, 2000, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
He was born in Martinsville, Ind., on March 26, 1938, the son of Ellis Alley and Helen Pauline (Leichman) Alley. Mr. Alley lived in Middletown for many years before moving to Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Alley of Stanton, Ky.; a daughter, Kristina Lynn Alley of Middletown; two sons, James E. (wife Jill) Alley Jr. of West Carrollton, Ohio, and William D. (wife Nickie) Alley Sr. of Middletown; two sisters, Kay Catrell and Edith Clark, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; two brothers, Chester Alley of Martinsville, Ind., and Morris Alley of Paragon, Ind.; two much loved stepsons, Seldon J. (wife Ester) Tutt and Billy R. Tutt, both of Middletown; four grandchildren, Kelly Ann Alley, Mindi Williams, Jamie Alley and William Alley Jr.; eight step-grandchildren, Lana Tutt, Evie Tutt, Stephanie Branch, Billie Jean Tutt, Jamie Tutt, Patty Tutt, Seldon Tutt Jr., and Seth Tutt; four great-grandchildren; and many other friends and family. He was deeply loved and will be sadly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Eugene, Verlin and Leon.

Arthur G. Armitage
Arthur G. Armitage, 89 of 4607 Manchester Road, died Saturday, June 3, 2000 at the Middletown Regional Hospital emergency room.
He was born March 7, 1911 in Menifee County, Ky., the son of Jim and Susie (Martin) Armitage. He was retired from Armco Steel. Mr. Armitage was a life member of the Knights of Pythias and served as commander and chancellor.
He is survived by his son, Fred (wife Debbie) Armitage of Middletown; five grandchildren, Melissa Black of Middletown, Patrick Clay Murphy of North Carolina, John Michael Murphy of Shreveport, La., Richard Garnet Murphy of Dayton, and James Daniel Murphy of Trenton; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Isabelle Dennis of Middletown, Bessie Sarjent of Crawfordsville, Ind., and Elizabeth Snyder of Middletown; and four brothers, James, Donald, and Robert Murphy, all of Middletown, and Henry Murphy of Shreveport, La.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Armitage in 1986 and a step-daughter, Mary Murphy.

Alice Blankenship
Mrs. Alice Blankenship, 96, of Middletown, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
She was born on March 26, 1904, in Wolfe County, Ky., but had lived in Middletown since 1920. She was the daughter of Powell and Rhoda (Harper) Brewer. Mrs. Blankenship had been employed by the Dayton Depot-Signal Corps during World War II. She had also worked for Gold Registry until the age of 75. She was a member of the Healing Word Church and loved her church and her family.
She leaves a daughter, Maxine Tyra Day (husband Edward) of Middletown; a son, Dorsey R. Tyra (wife Fern) of Long Island, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Justine Rowe of Lebanon, Ohio; five grandchildren, Joyce Parrella and Jim Day, both of Middletown, Gary Tyra of Phoenix, Ariz., Larry Tyra of Sayville, N.Y., and Tony Tyra of Long Island, N.Y.; three step-grandchildren, Sandra Olds of Newport News, Va., Dwight Rowe of Lebanon, Ohio; and Kimberly Arbogast of Hilliard, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, James W. Brewer of Long Island, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Blankenship, in 1962; two sisters, Ellen Campbell and Nancy Profitt of Kentucky; two brothers, Walter Brewer of Kentucky and Roy Haddix of Vandalia, Ohio; a dearly loved grandson, Raymond Tyra, and great-grandson, Larry Tyra Jr., of New York; and one very special son-in-law, Hebert Rowe of Lebanon, Ohio.

Leonard D. Brooks
Leonard Delano Brooks, 63, of 7777 Kay St., passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
He was born on May 17, 1937, in Dante, Va. He was employed by General Electric Co. at the Evendale plant as a machine operator for 14 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and AARP.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Violet Brooks; and a brother, Harold.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda Eberle, and her husband, Jerry, of New Whiteland, Ind., Dianna Morris, and husband, Ted, of Marion, Ohio, Cheryl Harris of Franklin, Kim McKinley, and husband, Rich, of Miamisburg and Jennifer Coomer, and husband, Travis, of Carlisle; two brothers, Thurman Brooks, and wife, Pat, of Dayton, and Roger Brooks, and wife, Joyce, of Farmers Branch, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and dear friends and neighbors and family members.

Joyce L. Buchheit
Mrs. Joyce L. (Upton) Buchheit, 81, of Trenton, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2000, at 5:24 p.m. in the emergency room at Middletown Regional Hospital.
She was born on Feb. 9, 1919, in Middletown, Ohio, and lived in this area all of her life. She was employed at Miami Carey for 19 years, retiring in 1981. Mrs. Buchheit was a longtime member of the Jacksonburg United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Julia (Hobbs) Upton; her husband, Robert Buchheit in 1983; a son, James Buchheit in 1948; two brothers, Riley Upton and William Upton; and four sisters, Evelyn Goin, Lenore Kinner, Jean May and Wanda Bradberry.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Caudill, and her husband, Tom, of Trenton, Ohio, and Robyn Melton, and her husband, Jerry, of Lake Placid, Fla.; three sons, John Buchheit, and his wife, Sue, of Middletown, and Joe and Jay Buchheit, both of Trenton; four grandchildren, Tara Tucciarone, and her husband, Mark, and Christopher Melton, all of Lake Placid, and Kyndra and Nesha Caudill, both of Trenton; two great-grandchildren, Kurtis Tucciarone of Lake Placid, Fla., and Kiarra Caudill of Trenton; two sisters, Gloria Hendrickson, and her husband, William, of Monroe, and Bette Laubach, and her husband, Robert, of Poasttown, Ohio; and many friends.

Charlotte L. Cooke
Mrs. Charlotte L. Cooke, 72, of Franklin, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born in Mount Healthy, Ohio, on Feb. 16, 1928. Mrs. Cooke was employed by Central Trust in Cincinnati for many years as a bookkeeper/key punch operator, retiring in 1946.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Cooke, in 1997; her mother, Lillian (Weber) Cummings; her stepfather, Edward Cummings; and a brother, Robert Yerkes.
Surviving are three sons, Charlie Cook, and his wife, Shirley Wagner, of Springboro, Terry Cooke of Franklin and Ronald Cooke, and his wife, JoAnn, of Carlisle; three daughters, Deann Therrien of Springboro, Sharon Dearth of Franklin, and Brenda Moore, and husband, Richard, of Middletown; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Beloved wife of Ralph E. Davis, mother of Christopher Davis and Vanessa Street (Brian), dear sister of Allen Jr., Charles Vincent and Joseph Phillips, Lulu Reed (John), Sarah Wright and Catherine Thomas and a host of other relatives and friends, passed away Friday. She was 60.

Arnol F. Elam
Former resident Arnol F. Elam, 80, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2000, at his home at 86 Ivanhoe Drive, Ormond Beach, Fla. He had been ill for many years.
Mr. Elam was a graduate of Middletown High School in 1937. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was employed by Jefferson-Smurfit Corp., as a pressman until his retirement in 1982 when he moved to Florida.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Thomas and Effie (Igo) Elam; a sister, Thelma Whitesell; and a brother Jack Elam.
He is survived by his widow, Louise; a stepdaughter, Marlene Strohm of Panama City, Fla.; two sisters, Alma Thompson and Delores Tirey, and a brother, Joseph Elam, all of Middletown, Ohio; and 11 nieces and nephews. He also has two step-granddaughters, Elizabeth Vanderpool and Helen Nichols, also of Middletown.

Samuel H. Eldridge
Samuel H. Eldridge, 71, of Middletown, died Thursday, June 1, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
He was born on Nov. 22, 1928, in Excello, Ohio, and was a lifelong Middletown resident. He served in the Army Air Force from November, 1945, to September, 1948. Mr. Eldridge was formerly employed as a superintendent at Morky-Tesmer where he worked for 43 years before retiring in 1995.
He was a member of American Legion Post 218, Eagles Lodge 3458, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 131 and Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 501.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lora Eldridge; and brothers Louie, James, Floyd, Carter, Kenneth and Roy Eldridge.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Darlene R.; three sons, Donald J. Eldridge, Larry D. Eldridge and Darrell W. Eldridge, and his wife, Lisa, all of Middletown; a stepson, Keith Kahl of Trenton; four stepdaughters, Shannon D., and her husband, William Froment, of Middletown, and Terri, and her husband, Steve King, Cathy, and her husband, Bill Manning, and Didge, and her husband, Dave Duncan, all of Trenton; two grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Clyde Eldridge of Carlisle; and four sisters, Retha Payton and Janet Kendrick, both of Carlisle and Helen Powell and Henretta Philbaum, both of Middletown.

Freda Foxx
Mrs. Freda Foxx, 75, of Ross, Ohio, died at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at the Hospice of Cincinnati at Mercy Hospital of Hamilton.
Born on Oct. 9, 1924, she was the daughter of Ben and Mary (Van Hook) Forman. Freda was educated and graduated from the Germantown public schools. On Jan. 13, 1945, in Tampa, Fla., she married Dewey E. Foxx. She was a member of the East River Road Baptist Church where she was the pianist for several years. She was also the pianist at the First Baptist Church of Ross, and she sang and played the piano for the Happy Hearts trio. Mrs. Foxx was a member and past president of the Village and Farm Garden Club of Ross, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband, Dewey E. Foxx of Ross; two sons, Danny Foxx, and his wife, Barbara, of Bayview, Idaho, and David Foxx, and his wife, Debra, of Camden, Ohio; four grandchildren, Brian Foxx of Phoenix, Ariz., Blain Foxx of Hamilton, Michael Foxx of Kissimmee, Fla., and Joshua Foxx of Spokane, Wash; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dewayne Forman of Carlisle, Ohio.
Her parents and one brother, Glenn Forman, preceded her in death.

Bobbie Jo Gray
Bobbie Jo (Betty) Gray of Middletown, while planting flowers in front of her residence, went to Heaven with the angels at 9:55 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2000.
She was born on Sept. 26, 1939, in Rogersville, Tenn., but spent most of her life in Middletown, Ohio.
Ms. Gray leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Toni and Keith Bailey; and her grand dog, Sam, who will miss his "Crazy Lady" very much.
She is also survived and loved by many sisters and brothers, Fran Caldwell, Shirley Fultz, Sue Farmer, Frank Albin, Wayne and Sherry Albin, John Albin, Lillian Reynolds, Mildred Whisman and Helen Way. She is also survived by her aunt, Maggie Williams.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Strong; and her mother, Blanche Albin, and step-father, John Albin.
Bobbie Jo was also loved by many friends, in particular, her friend Toni Agee, and all her friends in her apartment complex. She also maintained a very friendly relationship with her former husband, and his wife, Jim and Barbara Gray.
As all her friends and relatives know, Bobbie Jo was an avid sun-worshipper. Now, she is in a place where the sun always shines for her. She loved her flowers and her squirrels, even though she could often be heard yelling at them (by name, no less) to stay out of her flowers. Now she is the most beautiful of flowers in Heaven.

Taylor Hairston
Mr. Taylor Hairston, 91, of Stanaford, W.Va., was born on Oct. 28, 1908, and died on Thursday, June 8, 2000, in Southern West Virginia Clinic in Beckley, W.Va.
He is survived by three sons, the Rev. Luther Hairston, and his wife, Tessie, of Stanaford, W.Va., Mr. Freddie
Hairston, and his wife, Doris, of Middletown, Ohio, and Mr. Cordell Robinson, and his wife, Diane, of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Ms. Virginia Holland of Middletown; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mary A. Harmon
Mrs. Mary A. Harmon, 93, of Middletown, passed away Sunday at Middletown Regional Hospital.
She was a Middletown native and was born Sept. 11, 1906, to Joseph Brenner and Agnes (Slovak) Brenner. Mrs. Harmon was a member of St. John's Church of Holy Family Parish and the St. John's Ladies Auxiliary.
She leaves two sons, Thomas J. (Cheryl) Harmon of Avon Lake, Ohio, and Richard E. (Gail) Harmon of Atlanta, Ga.; a daughter, Janice D. (Horace) Harmon-Rivers of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Ottilia Yauch of Xenia; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Harmon in 1953; her parents, Joseph and Agnes Brenner; and three brothers and two sisters.

Nora Jean Hazelwood
Nora Jean Hazelwood, 71, of Hunter, Ohio, died June 2, 2000 while visiting family in Kentucky.
She was born July 28, 1928, in Stricklett, Ky., the daughter of Bruce Sparks and Callie Mae Scott Sparks.
She is survived by her husband, John E. Hazelwood of Franklin; sons Carl Dale Lawson of Mount Vernon, Ind. and Ernest Lawson of Waynesville; and daughters Beverly McKeever and Kathy Eblin of Franklin. Other survivors include 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, six sisters, and two brothers.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, three brothers, and three sisters.
She was a nurse, retired from Otterbein Nursing Home in 1993 after 42 years of service and was a member of the Middletown Nazarene Church.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Middletown Nazarene Church with visitation one hour before services. The Rev. Vernon Hurles will officiate. Cheryl A. Howard
Cheryl A. Howard, 55, of Gratis, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
She was born Sept. 27, 1944, in Hamilton to Herman and Russie B. (Mullins) Alcorn. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Elkton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sons, Barry Glen Howard and his twin brother.
She is survived by her husband, Dorse G. Howard of Gratis; two daughters, Melinda J. Coffman of Miamisburg and Robin D. (Steve) Patrick of Germantown; two sisters, Joyce E. Howard of Hillsboro and Mildred Tipton of Xenia; and three grandchildren, Amber Coffman, Corrie Patrick and Dylan Patrick.

Cyril Howard
Cyril Howard, 85, of 6921 Sloebig Road, died Sunday morning, June 4, 2000, at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 6, 1915, in Dover, Tenn., the son of Robert Howard and Anna (Link) Howard. He worked as a car salesman for Guyler Buick and Heber Jones.
Survivors include two sisters, Lucy Adams of Granite City, Ill., and Deane Davis of Washington, Ill.; two brothers, Lyra Howard of Lakeland, Fla., and Robert Howard of Pekin, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His wife, Ada Howard, preceded Mr. Howard in death in 1997.

Virginia M. 'Jenny' Knox
Virginia M. "Jenny" Knox, 79, of Middletown, died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Garden Manor Extended Care Center.
She was born July 4, 1920, in Louisa, Ky., but lived in Middletown most of her life. She was a homemaker and former member of Grace Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orber Dale Knox in 1995; parents John Valentine and Mary Ann (Cornwell) Bush; two brothers, John Paul and Ted Bush; and two sisters, Pauline Preece and Madge Baskett.
She is survived by a son, Don F. (Dolly) Knox of Indian Springs; daughters Jo Ann Knox of Middletown and Janny (Greg) Hutson of Indian Springs; a step-daughter, Barbara K. Billy J. Parsons
Billy J. Parsons, 36, of Middletown, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on Sept. 23, 1963, but was a lifelong Middletown resident. Mr. Parsons had been employed in shipping at the Atlas Roofing Co. for 11 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Parsons, and a sister, Christina Parsons.
He is survived by his wife, Tabatha; a daughter, Heather Parsons of Middletown; his father, Ballard Parsons of Franklin; two brothers, Dell Parsons, and his wife, Candy, of Middletown, and Christopher Parsons, and his wife Teresa, of Carlisle; two nieces, Melinda Parsons of Carlisle and Rachel Parsons of Middletown; and a nephew, Dylan Parsons of Middletown.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services were concluded at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2000, at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home in Middletown. Visitation was held from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment was at Miami Cemetery in Waynesville, Ohio.
Joseph A. Procaccino
Joseph A. Procaccino, 70, a resident of West Chester, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at Bethesda North Hospital.
The son of Salvatore and Maria Concetta (Piccolella) Procaccino, he was born in the province of Avellino, Bisaccia, Italy, on June 30, 1929. Master Sgt. Procaccino, U.S. Army, was awarded the Purple Heart for service to his country during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Janice Bigler. Joe was a senior account agent with Allstate Insurance Co.
A loving and devoted husband and father, he leaves his wife of 44 years, Janice Procaccino; a daughter, Leah Procaccino, and a son, Joseph Procaccino, and his wife, Cheryl; a brother, Tony Procaccino; two sisters, Mary Bell and Antoinette Capozzi; his mother-in-law, Leonarda Mandzak; and nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2000, at the Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. Third St., Hamilton. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery, Middletown. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Winifred L. Sabo
Mrs. Winifred L. "Winnie" Sabo, 77, of 109 Marisa Drive, died at Garden Manor Extended Care Center Friday morning, June 2, 2000.
She was born in Middletown on April 4, 1923, the daughter of Arthur and Mary Jackson Richardson. Mrs. Sabo was the activities director of the Middletown Senior citizens for 20 years. She was past president of American Business Women's Association and was Woman of the Year of the Association. She was also past president of AARP and was a former board member of the Women's Center.
She taught piano and voice and was a 50-year member of the Music Club. For more than 20 years she was the choir director of the St. Luke's Presbyterian Church and and active member of the High Fever Follies. Mrs. Sabo was a frequent soloist with the Middletown Symphony and sang at the 50th anniversary of the symphony.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joe; four daughters, Linda, and her husband, Lawrence Lawson, of Middletown, Connie Bauer of Middletown, Nancy J., and her husband, Jack Collins, of Middletown, and Marianna, and her husband, Dale Conley of Franklin; nine grandchildren, Aaron and Zach Lawson, Kyle and Robbie Bauer, Stacie Blue, Michael and Brandi Collins, Wesley Keeton and Dale Conley Jr.; and four great-grandchildren, Robert, Angelica, Ethan and Hunter.
The Sabo family business, the Parkway Bait and Tackle Shop, will be closed from 3 p.m. Monday until Wednesday morning.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Clark officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be at Woodside Cemetery.
Acee Sorrell
Acee Sorrell, 73, of Franklin, Ohio, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2000, at 6:37 a.m. at Middletown Regional Hospital where he had been a patient for one week.
He was born on June 30, 1926, in Springboro, Ohio, and had lived in this area all of his life. Mr. Sorrell served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and held the rank of Carpenter's Mate, First Class. He was employed as a corrugator operator at Inland Container for 32 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of American Legion Post 149 in Franklin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Nancy (Bowlin) Sorrell; his wife, Colleen W. Sorrell; a grandson, Christopher T. Sorrell; a brother, Clifford Sorrell; and a sister, Lena Burgess.
Surviving are two sons, Christopher Sorrell, and his wife, Brenda, of Carlisle, and Kim Sorrell, and his wife, Polly, of Franklin; a daughter, Robyn Bradley of Franklin; six grandchildren, Robert and Shannon Sorrell, Jeremy and Zack Masters, and John and Heidi West; seven great-grandchildren, Dystiny Masters, Justin, Jeffery and Christina Sorrell, Elexes Baker, Sebastian West and Nathan Glossip; two sisters, Mae Sorrell and Burnice Stokes, both of Middletown; and a special friend, Anna Rogers of Franklin.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 4, at Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown. Funeral services will be at noon Monday, June 5, at the funeral home. The Rev. Chuck Purvis will officiate. Interment will be at Woodhill Cemetery in Franklin, with military services conducted by the American Legion Post 218 Honor Guard.
James A. Spradlin
James Allen Spradlin, 49, of 611 Granada Ave., Middletown, passed away at 11:26 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
He was born on June 21, 1950, in Prestonburg, Ky., and had lived in Middletown since 1964. He was a truck driver. Mr. Spradlin had worked for the Tennessee Steel Haulers and Green Lines Trucking, and for the past five years, he had worked for Wildwood Trucking. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Iretta L. (Trimble) Spradlin in 1996.
Surviving are his wife of 14 years, Gayle (Ferris) Spradlin; three sons, James Roy Spradlin of Middletown, Jason P. Spradlin of Greenville, Ohio, and Jeremy D. Spradlin, at home; three daughters, Janet M. Spradlin of Florida, Jill A. Spradlin of Piqua, Ohio, and Jenny N. Spradlin, at home; four grandchildren; his father, James O. Spradlin of Dayton, Ohio; two brothers, Phillip Spradlin, and his wife, Joann, of Lawrenceville, Ohio, and Jeff Spradlin of Dayton; and a sister, Ruth Spradlin of Dayton.

Robert D. Svarda
Robert Docie Svarda, 28, of Middletown, died at his residence on Tuesday, June 6, 2000.
He was born on Nov. 3, 1971, the son of Docie and Mary Svarda. He was a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School in 1991. Bobby was employed as a welder for five years at Cohen Brothers. In his spare time, he liked to build bicycles for his cousins and friends. He was a former member of the Sons of the American Legion.
Robert is survived by his parents; a son, Tyler Allen Sparks of Middletown; a sister, Jeannie Svarda of Middletown, and her fiancé, Chad Schneider; and good friends, Darren and Tom; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
ARRANGEMENTS: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Church of Holy Family Parish, with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home.

Gregory S. Thompson
Gregory Scott Thompson, 39, of Piqua passed away there on Sunday morning.
He was born in Middletown on Sept. 7, 1960, the son of Eugene and Mattie Williams Thompson. Greg was a special education teacher at the Favorite Hill Elementary School of the Piqua School District for 18 years. He was a graduate of Miami University. He was active in local and state teachers unions and was the editor of the local Ohio Education Association Newsletter for the Piqua School District.
He is survived by his mother, Mattie Thompson of Plant City, Fla.; a brother, Ron Thompson, and his wife, Charlene, of Harbor Beach, Mich.; a sister, Judy Svarda Dolin, and her husband, Reese, of Franklin; two nieces, Tina Miller of Dade City, Fla., and Melissa Osterman of Monroe; four nephews, Scott Thompson of Monroe, Tony Thompson of Middletown, Nathan Svarda of Middletown and Kevin Svarda of Springfield; seven great-nieces; and three great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Thompson in 1999.

Leonard J. Wurth Jr.
Leonard J. Wurth Jr., 74, of Franklin Township, Ohio, died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at Willow Knoll Retirement Community.
He was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on July 13, 1925, the son of Leonard Wurth Sr. and Katherine (Haverland) Wurth. Mr. Wurth was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. He was a loving father and husband and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret M. (James) Wurth of Franklin; a son, Michael D. Wurth of Franklin, two daughters, Nancy J., and her husband, Ken Curry, of Lebanon, Ohio, and Carol Manning of Phoenix, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents and two sisters.
