Linda L. Barnard
FRANKLIN -- Mrs. Linda Lee Barnard, 53, of 738 Millard Drive, passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
She was born on Jan. 14, 1947, in Middletown, Ohio, the daughter of Robert T. and Delores J. (Timberlake) Cox.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and a sister.
Mrs. Barnard is survived by her husband, Gary; daughters, Michelle Abner of Carlisle and April Farler and Holly Barnard, both of Franklin; brothers Robert Cox of Madison, Ind., and half brother, Lee Cox, of Franklin; sisters Carol Wells and Rosie Laber, both of Middletown, Mary Ellen Massey of Louisville, Ky., Cheryl Cox Amorini of Cincinnati and Annette Wical of Ridgeville, Ohio; half sisters Tina Dunn of Franklin and Tricia Wilmath of Middletown; and six grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at St. John's Church, 1405 First Ave., Middletown, with Father John Civille as celebrant. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery.

Marcella Baumann
Marcella Mae Baumann, 80, of Darrtown, passed away Friday morning, Aug. 4, 2000, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
She was born on March 1, 1920, in Middletown, the daughter of Earl and Hazel (Schmidt) Schraub.
On July 24, 1939, she married Lawrence Baumann at her home between West Elkton and Jacksonburg and in 1946 they moved to Darrtown. She is a lifelong resident of Butler County.
She had many interests including cooking, sewing and gardening. She was also very musically talented, playing the violin, clarinet and piano. But her most precious pastime was spending time with all her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the Darrtown United Methodist Church and a past member of the Ladies Aid Society.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence W. Baumann of Darrtown; one son, Dale Baumann and wife, Deborah, also of Darrtown; three daughters, Janet Jewell and husband Paul of College Corner; Karen Meador and husband, Jim, and Pam Russell and husband, Ken, all of Darrtown; 11 grandchildren, one step-grandson and nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Schraub and wife, Christin, Henry Schraub and wife Gladys, both of Middletown; a sister, Norma Grimme and husband Herschel of Liberty, Ind., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelly Rae Kirkpatrick.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Smith and Ogle Funeral Home, 101 West Church St., Oxford.
Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Darrtown Cemetery.

Jackson Cox
Jackson "Jackie" Cox, 61, of Middletown died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, in Cincinnati.
He was born April 16, 1939, in Pineridge, Ky., and had lived in the area for 40 years.
Mr. Cox was a Vietnam veteran and received a Bronze Star. He worked as a crane operator at Armco Steel for 23 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of Jefferson Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Antioch Shrine, American Legion 218, VFW Vietnam "Bronze Star" and the Army National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Cox; daughters Debra Curtis (Tony) of Trenton and Belinda McClelland (Mark) of Franklin; a grandson, Brian McClelland of Franklin; granddaughters, Beth McClelland of Franklin, Aundrea Curtis of Trenton, Brittany McClelland of Franklin and Aluara Curtis of Trenton; and a half sister, Jane Coates of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel and Jessie Cox.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home. Burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park.

David C. Curl
HAMILTON -- David C. Curl, 71, of Hamilton, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of 49 years of Juanita (Tirey) Curl; and the father of three daughters and two sons, Cynthia, and her husband, Stephen Heiser, and their two children, Clinton and Adam, who reside in Hamilton, Pamela, and her husband, Jerry Cornthwaite, who reside in Indiana, and their son, Jeffery, David Curl Jr. of Hamilton, and his daughter, Amanda, Connie, and her husband, Timothy Schlueter, and their three children, Timothy Jacob, Joshua and Katrina, all of whom reside in North Carolina, and Douglas Curl, and his wife, Jill (Fisher), and their two children, David and Erica, who reside in Hamilton.
He also leaves behind two half brothers, Samuel and Timothy Curl, both of whom reside in Burlington, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Lucille DeVoe and Mary Williams; brother Daniel Curl; half brother Fred Bennett; and half sister Danelda (Curl) Duckett.
He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family.
David was born in Adams Township, Clinton County, Ohio, on July 7, 1929. His parents were Anna Mary (Jefferis) and Daniel Stacey Curl. His family lived in the Clinton County area for several generations and his ancesters were some of the first settlers of Ohio.
A graduate of Seven Mile High School, he served in the Army during the Korean War. He retired from CSX Railroad system as track supervisor after 47 years of dedicated service.
He was a member of the Elks Club No. 93 and enjoyed many hours of hunting and fishing with his children. A longtime resident of Butler County, he lived in Fairfield Township for more that 25 years before retiring to his farm in Wayne Township to raise cattle.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks for the compassionate care provided by Middletown Regional Hospital and Dr. Mary Ellen Gaeke and Dr. Paul Duncan.

Nancy A. Delscamp
Nancy A. Delscamp, 49, of Germantown, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, in Cincinnati.
She was born Aug. 7, 1950, in Cincinnati and had lived her entire life in the area except for 10 years in Trotwood.
While her life was marked with many obstacles she never let those obstacles stand in the way of being a devoted wife, a caring mother, a wonderful sister and compassionate friend. Everyone who came in contact with her was amazed by her toughness in the face of adversity, her beautiful smile and wonderful sense of humor. She touched the hearts of so many people. She truly was a miracle.
Mrs. Delscamp was a medical technician for Dr. Louis Gaker Medical where she had worked for two years and was a member of Forest Hills Country Club.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond D. Delscamp III; a daughter, Lindsey R. Delscamp of Germantown; a son, David P. Delscamp of Germantown; and brothers, Richard T. Mather of Cincinnati, Clinton E. (Ted) Mather II (Perylann) of Germantown, David R. Mather (Becky) of Fishers, Ind. and Martin H. Mather (Margaret) of Germantown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard S. Mather and Martha R. (Routson) Mather.

Doris M. Ditmyer
Former Middletown resident Mrs. Doris May Ditmyer, 74, of Fallbrook, Calif., died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at her residence.
She was born on Nov. 6, 1925, in San Diego, Calif., and had lived in Middletown, Ohio, for 18 years. Mrs. Ditmyer was a graphic artist. She was self-employed and the owner of Bowen Typographers, retiring 10 years ago. She was an accomplished quilter and seamstress. "The one who has the most fabric when they die -- wins!" was her favorite saying.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Grosswiler, and a grandson, Kevin Grosswiler, both in May 1978.
She leaves her husband, Arthur Ditmyer of Fallbrook, Calif.; four daughters, Susan Ditmyer of San Leandro, Calif., Patty Manning of Moreno Valley, Calif., Nancy Deckert of Fallbrook, and Caroline Sanchez of Oceanside, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Lura Erickson
Mrs. Lura "Dee" Erickson, 72, of Middletown, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
She was born on Jan. 22, 1928, in Rainier, Wash., the daughter of Wade and Olive (Hosker) Alexander.
Mrs. Erickson was employed as a secretary for University of Terrance LLC in Des Moines, Iowa, for 17 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Waveland Park Chapter 569, Des Moines, Iowa, a member of the First Baptist Church in Middletown and an avid gardener.
She is survived by her husband, Burton "Bud" M. Erickson of Middletown; two sons, Eric W. (Diane) Erickson of Middletown and Mark L. (Irin) Erickson of Chandler, Ariz.; one daughter, Traci J. (Ron) Gordon of Middletown; a sister, Katherine Burkett of Spokane, Wash.; and three grandchildren, Rachael, Bryan and Joshua Erickson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Cleo and Joe Alexander, and a sister, Mary Alexander.

Mrs. Lillian V. "Ginny" Fugate, 80, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Middletown and Franklin, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000.
She was born in Franklin, Aug. 4, 1920, daughter of Robert and Bessie May (Cox) Harrison, and had lived in Franklin and in Middletown most of her life until moving to Florida 12 years ago.
She is survived by her husband, Ted Fugate Sr.; a daughter, Robin (Tim) Weidle, and a son, Ted (Betty) Fugate Jr., both of Naples, Fla.; four sisters, Margaret Gibbons of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Laveda McGraw Olney of San Francisco, Calif.; Sarah Schrader of Carlisle and Barbara Burdge of Bristol, Tenn.; three brothers, Robert Harrison Jr. of Franklin, John Harrison of Franklin and Paul Harrison of Maineville; three grandchildren, Scott Weidle, Nicole Weidle and Lisa Giblin; and by a great-granddaughter, Keagan Giblin.

CARLISLE -- Roger Griffin, 55, of 410 Central Ave., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at Bethesda Hospital, Warren County.
He was born on Dec. 13, 1944, in Tennessee, the son of Henderson and Nellie Griffin. He was currently employed after 37 years at the Appleton Paper Co. Mr. Griffin was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Eastern Star Masonic Lodge in Franklin and Amvets of Franklin.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; a son, Jason of Carlisle; a stepson, David Rose of Carlisle; a stepdaughter, Tammy Dalton of Carlisle; a sister, Delphia Grays of Sommerville, Ohio; a granddaughter, Courtney; and two step-grandchildren, Justin and Tiffany Rose.

Elmer Griffith
CARLISLE -- Elmer Griffith, 88, of 8829 Cam Drive, passed away Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born on Jan. 25, 1912, in Blaine, Ky., the son of Henry and Bess (Edwards) Griffith. Mr. Griffith was formerly employed by Armco Steel Co.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Blanche, in 1990.
Survivors include his sons, Darrell D. Griffith, and his wife, Annes, of Lebanon, and Gary L. Griffith, and his wife, Blanch; sisters Margie Raney of Proctorville, Ohio, and Betty Lou Whitaker of Prestonburg, Ky.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Mary Kramer.

Robert E. Hufziger
Robert E. Hufziger, 79, of 2704 Lopane Ave., died Tuesday morning, Aug. 1, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
He was born in Newport, Ky., on July 26, 1921, the son of Emil and Loraine (Day) Hufziger, and was the retail advertising manager for the Middletown Journal, retiring in 1983 after 26 years of service.
A member of the American Legion, Mr. Hufziger served in the Army 439th Medical Battalion. He participated in campaigns in Normandy, Central Europe, Northern France, the Rhineland and the Ardennes. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Jane (Doebler) Hufziger; two daughters, Marti Roche (husband Darryl Boothe) and Mary Casstevens (husband Gene); two sons, Rob Hufziger (wife Robyn) and Richard Hufziger (wife Jennifer); grandchildren Matt Roche, Makayla Hufziger, Jon Casstevens, Mike Skalley and Sara Skalley; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dick and Mary Lou Doebler, Martha and William H. Raines, Jacob and Mary Berry, and Bill and Helen Doebler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister and brother-in-law, Ed and Mildred Hoon.

Judith M. Lipphardt
Judith M. "Judy" Lipphardt, 63, a resident of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000. She was born in Hamilton July 23, 1937, the daughter of Carroll and F. Jane (Stapleton) Epley.
A 1955 graduate of Hamilton High School, Judy continued her education and became a 1958 graduate of Christ Hospital School of Nursing. On Sept. 15, 1962, she was united in marriage to Donald L. Lipphardt.
Judy was a lifetime member of First St. John Church of Christ where she was a member of the choir, a member of the Board of Christian Education and various other church groups. She was also a longtime member of the Hamilton Safety Council and the Red Cross. Judy retired from Mercy Hospital after 38 years of service as a registered nurse.
Survivors include her three sons, Keith Lipphardt and his wife Judy of Middletown, Kent Lipphardt and his wife Jackie, and Kurt Lipphardt, all of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Eric Boyd, Katina Wilson, Elissa Loomis and Rebecca Sexton; and one sister, Janice Mucklow of Hamilton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin brother, Kenneth Epley, and her husband of 35 years, Donald L. Lipphardt.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at the First St. John United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Dean Griffith officiating.
Visitation will be at the church Monday evening from 5 to 9 p.m.

Richard B. McMillan
Richard B. McMillan, 42, of Cincinnati, died there Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000.
Mr. McMillan was an entrepreneur. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on April 30, 1958.
He was the son of Joan McMillan; brother of Sam, Bonnie, Beth Siobhan and Sara; and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Sam C. McMillan.

Middletown native David Eric Moon, 45, of Mesa, Ariz., died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, in Mesa.
He was born in Middletown, Ohio, and moved to Mesa, Ariz., 15 years ago. Mr. Moon was employed in transportation. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Surviving are his wife, Sheryl; two sons, David E. Moon II and Jason A. Moon; a daughter, Emily L. Moon; a sister, Penny A. Leonard; and four brothers, Bernal (Mike) Moon, and Norman, Walter and Scott Moon.

Eleanor L. Nolan
Mrs. Eleanor Lee Nolan, 87, of Monroe, Ohio, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Middletown Regional Hospital.
She was born in Kentucky on July 27, 1913, the daughter of the Rev. R.C. Caudill and Eleanor Caudill. Mrs. Nolan lived here most of her life and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Rodney and Darrel Caudill.
She leaves her husband of 66 years, Lloyd Nolan; two sons, Ronald Nolan (Phyllis) of Louisburg, Kan., and Steve Nolan (Marsha) of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Janice E. Cook (Ken), and Kim Bryant (Paul), both of Maineville; six grandchildren, Jerry Fultz, Jana Perkins, Jennylee Haines, Emma Nolan, Keely Bryant and Patrick Nolan Bryant; five great-grandchildren, Shawn M. Abel, Kristen Perkins, Tayler M. Perkins, Parey G. Haines and Sophie E. Haines; a brother, the Rev. Herschel Caudill; and a sister, Mae Jones.

Dennis Rose
FRANKLIN -- Dennis Rose, 84, of 7827 Kay St., passed away Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 17, 1916, in Estill County, Ky., the son of William B. and Nora (Lainhart) Rose. He was employed as a local carpenter, retiring in 1981. Mr. Rose moved from Kentucky in 1955 and was a member of Riverview Baptist Church and the local carpenters union.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Bertha; and a sister and three brothers.
He is survived by his sons, William, and his wife, Paula, of Germantown, and Edward of Franklin; a brother, Herbert Rose of Richmond, Ky.; sisters Ursela Lakes and Eilene Lakes, both of Dreyfus, Ky., Tressy Estes of Parma, Ohio, Flossy Wynne of Glendale, Calif., and Estelle Keene of Richmond, Ky.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Audrey A. Schooley
Mrs. Audrey A. Schooley, 83, a resident of the Friendly Nursing Home in Germantown, formerly of Erie Avenue, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 1, 2000.
She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Aug. 25, 1916, a daughter of Benjamin and Polly (Brown) Holder. She lived most of her life in this area. Mrs. Schooley was a longtime member of the Grace Baptist Church.
She is survived by two stepsons, Beecher Schooley Jr. of Middletown and Richard Schooley of Dayton; nieces Patricia A. Hatton, Irene Bush, Patricia Lewis and Betty Schooley; and a brother-in-law, Lee Schooley and his family of Jacksonburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and by eight brothers and sisters.

Andrew Stidham
Andrew Stidham, 76, of Brook Lane, LaFollette, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at the LaFollette Medical Center.
He was a member of Fundamental Missionary Baptist Church and had served as a deacon of the Baptist faith for more than 30 years. Mr. Stidham was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillie Campbell Stidham; sisters Mary, Mollie and Laura Dell; and brothers, Dutch, Dudley, George, Fillmore, John Jr., and Robert.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Stidham of LaFollette, Tenn.; sons Darry Ray Stidham of Middletown, Ohio, and Jerry Lynn and Roger Dale Stidham, both of LaFollette; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters Cordia, Layrug, Edna, Morrel, Cassie, Malta, Sarah, Frances, Ruby, Loretta and Doshia, all of Kentucky; brothers Edgar, Marcus and Grover, all of Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home, 700 W. Central Ave., LaFollette, Tenn. The Rev. Larry Russell will officiate. Interment will follow in Bakers Forge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 5, at the funeral home.
Loren T. Taylor Sr.
Loren Truman Taylor Sr., 74, of Franklin, Ohio, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
He was born in Middletown, Ohio, on June 3, 1926, and had lived in Hunter for more than 35 years. He was self-employed.
He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Pearly (Howe) Taylor; two brothers, David Lee and Sherman W. Taylor; and a daughter, Kathrine Taylor.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 48 years, Thelma; two sons, Loren (Anita) Taylor Jr. of Germantown and Michael Huffman of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four daughters, Elizabeth Taylor Cobell of Decatur, Ind., Adeline Underwood of Middletown, Rhonda (Brad) Jerman of Springboro and Lorenda (Garry) "Lori" Ruth of Waynesville; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Maloney of Middletown and Marie Whitt of Milford, Ohio.
ARRANGEMENTS: The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Joseph Baker-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Billy Wilson and James Setser officiating. Interment will be at Woodhill Cemetery.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family of Loren Taylor, to the Heavenly Highway Tabernacle or Abundant Life Tabernacle.
Timothy B. Tinch
Timothy B. Tinch, 51, of 207 N. Ninth St., Hamilton, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at his residence.
He was born on Dec. 26, 1947, in Middletown, Ohio, the son of Carl Sterling and Viola E. (Lakes) Tinch. He was employed in construction.
Mr. Tinch was preceded in death by his son, Danny Lee Tinch; his father, Carl; and a sister, Asenath L. (Tiny) Proctor.
He is survived by his mother, Viola E. Tinch of Franklin; two sons, Rodney and Travis Tinch, both of Hamilton; a daughter, Kelly Whitaker of Hamilton; a brother, Keith Tinch of Franklin; a sister, Pamela Lynn Tinch of Hamilton; a nephew, Shane Tinch; and three grandchildren. You are truly loved and will be deeply missed.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at Unglesby-Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin, with the Rev. Hobert White officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
