Idabelle Binkley, 79, Bluffton, died Oct. 21, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan.10, 1920 in Washington Twp., Hardin County, to Homer and Nellie (Matheny) Elwood. On Aug. 30, 1944, she married Lester E. Binkley and he survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Judy (Larry) Diller of Bluffton, and Kathy (George) Schock of Lima; a sister, Mary (Roger) Wanamaker of Findlay; four grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Park Elwood; and one sister, Viona Long.
Mrs. Binkley was a homemaker. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Lafayette, was a 1937 graduate of Dola High School.
Services were held Oct. 23 at Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton, with the Rev. Arvid Harklau officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Bluffton.

Della Gullett, 86, Ada, died Oct. 21, 1999 at Hardin Hills Health Center, Kenton.
She was born Oct. 18, 1913 in Prestonburg Ky. to Boyd and Clora (Dotson) Hall. On Aug. 8, 1936, she married Claude Gullett and he died Aug. 31, 1961.
Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn (Harry) King of Kenton, and Carolyn (Paul) Risner and Priscilla (Millard) Ochier, both of Ada; two sisters, Beatrice Mears of Lima and Irene Hall of Ada; seven grandsons; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Zella Patton and Velva Conley; and four brothers, Kelly Hall, Homer Hall, Hobert Hall and Russell Hall.
Mrs. Gullett was a retired assembler for Essex Wire in Kenton. She was a member of McGuffey Church of Christ, and a member of the Ada Senior Citizens.
Services were held Oct. 23 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Scot Caley officiating. Burial was in Preston Cemetery, Alger.

Willis "Bill" Hoyt, 71, McGuffey, died Oct. 23, 1999 at Baldwin Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kenton.
He was born April 5, 1928, in Hardin County, to Oather and Blanche (Hites) Hoyt. On Aug. 19, 1967, he married Kathryn Harsh, and she survives in McGuffey.
Survivors also include three daughters, Phyllis (Don) Grant of Roundhead, Cindy Spradlin of Ada, and Brenda (Danny) Ray of Kenton; two sisters, Hattie Fisher of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Francis Taylor of Mount Dora, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, April Renee Spradlin; one sister, Doris Worthington; and five brothers, Bennie, Melvin, John, Robert, and Earl Hoyt.
Mr. Hoyt retired from Ohio Northern University in 1990, after 21 years of service as a custodian in the maintenance department. He was affiliated with the Alger Assembly of God Church.
Services will be held today, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with the Rev. Dave Schneer. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.

Orville Howard, 72, Ada, died Oct. 21, 1999 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 14, 1927 in Knott County, Ky., to Alf and Cansey (Combs) Howard. On Jan. 12, 1946, he married Pearlie Shepherd, and she survives in Ada.
Survivors include a son, Charles Howard of Alger; a daughter, Juanita (Clifford) Robinson of Lima; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Manuel (Aileen) Howard of Salyersville, Ky., Whitley (Geneva) Howard of Harrod, and Willie (Shirley) Howard of South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Clore and Evelyn Stevens; three half brothers;and three half sisters.
Mr. Howard was retired from Tilton Corporation of Lima, in 1986 where he was an equipment operator. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Services were held Oct. 25 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger, with the Revs. Joe Wireman and Lesle Wireman officiating. Burial was in Preston Cemetery, Alger.

Boyd E. Hayes, 68, Ada, died Oct. 24, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 28, 1931 in Rolla, Mo., to John and Mattie (Yowell) Hayes. On Dec. 24, 1974, he married Ruth Watson Denton, and she survives in Ada.
Survivors also include a stepson, John Denton of Portland Oregon; three stepdaughters, Deborah Denton and Lana (Walter) Voyles, both of Toledo, and Pamela (Gerald) Moody of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two brothers, Henry (Audrey) Hayes of Cuba, Mo. and Jess (Evelyn) Hayes of Rolla, Mo.; one sister, Fern Stiga of Rolla, Mo.; and 11 step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Mr. Hayes was a retired mechanic from Ohio Northern University in Ada. He also worked for Derringer's Inc. in Lima and for McBride's Lawn Services in Maumee. He was a Korean War veteran, earning a Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of Ada Church of Christ's Disciples, Ada.
Services were held this morning, Oct. 27 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with the Rev. Patrick Allen officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. Military services were also held.
Marta Kyle McVicker, 43, Lima, died Oct. 21, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 30, 1956, in Lima to Herbert A. and Hazel P. Mann McVicker Sr.
Survivors include a brother, Herbert McVicker Jr. of Lima; five sisters, Shirley McVicker, Carol Bishop and Dana Roose, all of Lima, Dona Fisher of Alger and Judith Hanthorn of Lafayette.
Miss McVicker worked at Marimor Industires.
Services were held Oct. 25 at Siferd Westwood Chapel, with the Salvation Army Major Tulhorst officiating. Burial was in Lafayette Cemetery.

The Rev. E. DeVer Walker, 85, of Traverse City, Mich., formerly of Lima, died Oct. 22, 1999 at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City, Mich.
He was born Nov. 16, 1913, in Marion to William and Nell Walker. On May 25, 1943, he married Eleanor Horn Walker, who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Judith (Gene) Gillette of Bay City, Mich., and Kathryn (Ron) Walker of Phoenix; a sister, Ardith Fetter of Marion; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
The Rev. Walker retired in 1978 as a Presbyterian minister having served in churches in Hollister, Idaho and West Middlesex, Pa., and in Brilliant, Ada, Columbus, Lima and Louisville, all in Ohio. He was a member of Kiwanis International and had several articles published in religious and secular publications. He was a 1937 graduate of Centre College, Danville, Ky., a 1940 graduate of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and received his master's degree in 1942 from the University of Pittsburgh.
Memorial services were held Oct. 26 at First Congregational Church, Traverse City, Mich., with the Rev. Gary Hogue officiating.

Richard J. Reiter, 85, Findlay, died Oct. 23, 1999 at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center.
He was born March 7, 1914, in Mount Cory, to Glen and Eva (Light) Reiter. He married Eileen Amstutz and they were divorced. He later married Lucille G. Abbott on Aug. 13, 1955 and she preceded him in death on June 27, 1987.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Hanaman of Boise, Idaho, and Jacqueline Morse of Marion; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Glenna Augsburger of Bluffton.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Harry Reiter; and one sister, Barbara Green.
Mr. Reiter was the former owner of R and W Motor Sales, Findlay, and was also retired from Vic Lynn Motor Sales in Kenton and Alger. He was also a delivery driver for Sink's Florist from 1979 to 1998. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in Japan.
Services will be held this afternoon, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, with Mike Gearhart officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.

Beulah M. Sampson, 80, Dunkirk, died Oct. 21, 1999 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.
She was born May 15, 1919, in Kentucky, to Samuel and Mae (Naus) Hipsher. In 1937, she was married to James Albert Sampson, who preceded her in death in August 1978.
Survivors include two sons, Reggie (Lou Ann) and Jim (Judy), both of Dunkirk; five brothers, Dick (Iris) and Barney (Irene) Hipsher, both of Findlay, Gene (Morna) Hipsher of Caledonia; Jess (Ellen) Hipsher of Dunkirk, and Roger (Vonnie) Hipsher of Fostoria; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, and four sisters.
Mrs. Sampson was a homemaker.
Arrangements were made by Price Funeral Home of Dunkirk.
A memorial service for James R. Sroufe, 62, Daytona Beach, Fla., formerly of Kenton, was held Oct. 15 at the Daytona Beach Christian Church, with the Rev. Ed Beute officiating. His body was cremated by Halifax Cremation Society.
A graveside military service will be held at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima.
He was born in Lima to Ida and Clarence Sroufe. In 1978, he married Christine Salyers Holland, who survives.
Survivors also include local resident, daughter, Donna (Greg) Roberts of Ada.
Mr. Sroufe was a veteran of the Marine Corps and was employed by Daytona Beach Community College. He was a member of the Eagles, AMVETS and American Legion.

Edna M. Prater, 76, Roundhead, died Oct. 19, 1999 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born Dec. 24, 1922 in Salyersville, Ky., to Beckham and Mousie (Allen) Allen. On Dec. 12, 1942 she married Arthur "PeeWee" Prater, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Rose (John) Rumer of Roundhead; two grandchildren, Autumn and Cleva Rumer; three sisters, Osie (Jack) Davis of Quinlin, Texas, Audie Bailey of Leslie, Mich., and Mary Lincicum of Prescott, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Billy Prater; two sisters, Susie Allen and Betty Wireman; and one brother, Oscar Allen.
Mrs. Prater was a homemaker.

She was born May 10, 1920, in Piqua to Frank and Catherine Nuss Pohlabel. On Oct. 23, 1941, she married Charles J. Wanamaker, who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Margaret Sauer of Dublin and Carol (Jerry) Boate of Cincinnati; two sisters, Julia James of Ada and Mary Ann Rumer of Summerville, Ala.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son; two brothers, and a sister.
Mrs. Wanamaker worked in sales at Lazarus. She was a former member of St. Charles Catholic Church and a member of St. Brigade of Kildare, Dublin. She was a member of St. Rita's Medical Center Auxiliary and the Business Professional Women's Club.
Mass of Christian Burial was held this morning, Oct. 27 at St. Charles Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Dandurand officiating. Burial was in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.

Kay Frances Walters, 61, Somerset, died Oct. 17, 1999 after a long illness.
She was born Dec. 1, 1937 in Zanesville, to Raymond M. and the late Grace (Roach) Hill. On Sept. 25, 1959, she married Loren Walters, who survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Karen Walters of Newark, former pastor at Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Ada; two sons, Jim (Marcia) Walters of Columbus and Jeff (Twila) Walters of Scranton, Pa.; a brother, William Hill of Zanesville; and five grandchildren, Korey, Katie, Megan, Nicole and Stacey.
Mrs. Walters was a psychiatric nurse at Bethesda Hospital as well as director of nursing at Fairfield Care Center and Homestead-Lancaster. She retired from Mt. Aloysius. She was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.
A service of Resurrection was held Oct. 21 at the Somerset United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Kirk officiating. Burial was in Somerset Cemetery.

Jon Andrew Busch, 37, Derby, England, died Sept. 20, 1999 in Derby.
He was born Dec. 1, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, to Jon Thomas and Norma Busch. His father, Captain Jon Thomas Busch was killed in Vietnam. His mother, Norma (Steve) Rathburn, survives in Michigan.
He married Carol Snelling, and she survives in Derby, England.
Survivors also include two sons, Jason and Zachary of Derby, England; one daughter, Jenna of Derby, England; two brothers, Captain William (Alice) Busch of Huntsville, Ala., and James (Kelly) Busch of Circleville; one sister, Susan (Joe) Goodell of Toledo; and an uncle, Larry (Joyce) Busch of Ada.
Mr. Busch was a 1980 graduate of Ada High School.
Services were held Oct. 12 in Derby, England, where he is buried.

Mannis "Manny" Mullins, 50, McGuffey, died Oct. 30, 1999 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 17, 1949 in Magoffin County, Ky., to Ernie and Goldie (Joseph) Mullins. His father is deceased. His mother and stepfather, John and Goldie Calvert survive in McGuffey.
Survivors also include his companion and fiancee, Teresa Vining of McGuffey; three brothers, Dennis (Sharon) Mullins of Wapakoneta, Gary (Laura) Mullins of Ada, and Phil Mullins of McGuffey; and four sisters, Sula (William) Decker of Alger, Ella Loubert of LaRue, Donna (Bob) Teeters of Kenton, and Brenda Joseph of Lakeview.
Mr. Mullins was a truck driver. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the AMVETS of Kenton, and Indian Lake. He enjoyed singing and playing country music.
Services were held Nov. 2 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Alger, with the Revs. Tex Rowe and Randy Wilson officiating. Burial was in Preston Cemetery in Alger. Graveside military services were conducted by the AMVETS Post 20 of Kenton.

Flossie Marie Taylor, 99, Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Ada, died Oct. 25, 1999 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla.
She was born Aug. 4, 1900 in Logan County to Jacob and Elizabeth (Kupper) Lenhart. She married Irvin Taylor and he died June 2, 1978.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn Leach of Pensacola, Fla.; five grandchildren, James and Michael Leach, Karen Stiles, and Mark and Scott Taylor; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marian; and a son, Edward Taylor.
Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Pensacola, Fla. She lived in Ada for over 15 years and then moved to Pensacola, Fla., for 21 years.
Graveside services were held Nov. 1 at Walnut Hill Cemetery near New Hampshire, Ohio, with Pastor Jack Duffy officiating.
Baby girl, Faith Ann Marie Dunifon, died Oct. 21, 1999 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born Oct. 21, 1999 in Lima to William McKinley and Shannon Marie (Gardner) Dunifon, who survive in Lima.
Survivors also include two sisters, Sarah C. Dunifon and Samantha K. Dunifon at home; maternal grandparents, Gary and Sue Gardner of Ada; paternal grandmother, Loretta Dunifon of Lima; maternal great-grandmothers, Inez Gardner of Kenton, and Betty Schuman of Pontotoc, Miss.; and paternal great-grandmother, Alice Hunt of Lima.
She was preceded in death by maternal great-grandfathers, Millard "Bid" Gardner and John Bowling; Paternal grandfather, Rolland "Rollie" Dunifon; paternal great-grandfather, Tom Hunt; and paternal great-grandparents, William and Tillie Dunifon.

Ralph C. Dunlap, 78, Cairo, died Oct. 25, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 26, 1920, in Fort Jennings to Clark R. and Emma Robey Dunlap. On June 26, 1945, he married Doris Marie Matson, who survives.
Area survivor includes a son, Earl (Kitty Knisley) Dunlap of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Mr. Dunlap retired from Superior Coach Corp., Lima, and as a farmer. He was a member of Cairo United Methodist Church. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9648, Columbus Grove, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was an Army veteran of World War II, where he received the Purple Heart.
Services were held Oct. 29 at Cairo United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Judy Henderson officiating. Burial was in Cairo East Side Cemetery, with military rites by the American Legion and VFW.

Glen M. Emans, 86, Harrod, died Oct 25, 1999 at his residence.
He was born Oct. 5, 1913, in Putnam County to Sherman and Cora Payne Emans. On Oct. 5, 1931, he married Edna L. Fairchild, who survives.
Survivors also include three sons, Robert (Mary Lou) Emans of Lucky, David (Karen) Emans of Pandora and Floyd (Linda) Emans of Kenton; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Emans; and three sisters, Zella Boggs, Adah Corron and Alta Emans.
Mr. Emans retired from Bluffton Precast Concrete Co., and as a farmer. He was a member of Lafayette United Methodist Church, Lafayette.
Services were held Oct. 28 at Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton Chapel, with the Rev. Neal Whitney officiating. Burial was in Harman Cemetery, Gilboa.

Lavonda Lyn Wimer, 42, Palmetto, Fla., formerly of Lima, died Oct. 27, 1999.
She was born to Jay Clayton Wimer Sr. and Elizabeth Jane Gordon. Her father and stepmother, Rita Darlene Wimer, survive.
Survivors also include four brothers, J. Clayton Wimer Jr., Maurice Wimer and Keith Anthony Horton, all of Ohio, and James Brian Horton of Seffner, Fla.; and five sisters, Renelda Kay Holloway, Teresa Ann Bowers, Darlene Ray, Karen Sue Plumb and Laura Lynn Hughes.
Miss Wimer moved to Florida in 1997. She was an accountant, and enjoyed bowling, sports and karaoke. She was a graduate of Allen East High School and Northwestern Business College.
Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 10 at the Harrod Christian Church. The Rev. Ted Moore will officiate.
Arrangements were handled by Florida Mortuary.
Delano R. Kahler, 66, Cridersville, died Nov. 5, 1999 at his residence.
He was born April 26, 1933, to Alfred and Sarah (Cummins) Kahler in Hardin County.
Survivors include a nephew, Gary Kahler; and two nieces, Delores Kahler and Peggy Ziegler.
Mr. Kahler served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, both in Lima.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation as the body has been cremated.

Pat Spencer, 89, Harrod, died Nov. 4, 1999 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 8, 1910 in Harrod, to Thomas J. and Ida Belle (Sanders) Spencer. On Dec. 8, 1934, he married Ila M. Smith and she survives in Harrod.
Survivors also include two sons, Thomas J. Spencer of Harrod, and Joe (Veona) Spencer of Lima; three daughters, Betty (Jim) Plikerd of Lima, Jean (Leo) Motter of Dola, and Kay (Ed) Batch of Waynesfield; one brother, Cody (Ruth) Spencer of Wapakoneta; two sisters, Hazel Binkley and Chrystal Neeley, both of Waynesfield; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Spencer was a farmer. He attended the New Hampshire Church of the Nazarene, New Hampshire, Ohio.
Services were held Nov. 6 at New Hampshire Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Curtis Randolph officiating. Burial was in Willow Branch Cemetery, Waynesfield.

Melvin R.Furry, 57, Lafayette, died Nov. 8, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.
He was born Jan. 6, 1942 in Harrod, to William Edgar and Corda (Stubbs) Furry. On July 12, 1975, he married Joyce King, and she survives in Lafayette.
Survivors also include a son, Patrick Furry at home; two daughters, Tina (Tony) Lawrence of Ada, and Pamela Furry at home; two brothers, Thomas (Sheila)Furry of Harrod, and Richard (Carol) Furry of Lafayette; a sister, Sara (Roger) Jones of Harrod; and three grandchildren, Daric Lawrence, Daniel Szippl and Brittany Lawrence.
Mr. Furry retired from Ford Motor Company, Lima, after 26 years as an assembly line worker. He was a member of the UAW-CIO #1219 of Lima. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home in Alger, with Pastor Robert Brown officiating. Burial will be in Auglaize Cemetery (Faulkner Rd.), Harrod. Graveside military services will be conducted by Ada Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9138.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 24 and 68 p.m. and until time of services at the funeral home in Alger on Thursday.

He was born July 27, 1925, in Lima to Leo F. and Clara McElroy Bible. On April 22, 1967, he married Shirley Kurtz Williams, who survives.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Bible retired in 1987 as a warehouseman with Scot Lad Foods. He was a member of First Church of God.

Darrell Junior Clay, 79, Lima, died Nov. 2, 1999 at his residence.
He was born Aug. 20, 1920, in Lincoln County, W.Va., to Henry and Lavada Josephine "Josie" Blevins Clay. On Oct. 23, 1941, he married Wilcie Nell White, who survives.
Area survivor also includes a brother, Harry Clay of McGuffey.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Clay retired in 1982 from the Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant after 23 years and had been a mine worker for 14 years in West Virginia. He was a member of Elm Street Church of Christ. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 and United Auto Workers Local 1219. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Services were held Nov. 6 at Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. R. Darrell Clay officiated. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, with military rites by VFW Post 1275.
