Dwight L. Ferguson, 55, Bellefontaine, died Feb. 15, 1999 at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine.
He was born April 1, 1943, in Logan County, to C. Crew and Ethel Longshore Ferguson. On Oct. 19, 1962, he married Sandy Groves in Huntsville. They are divorced.
Survivors include a daughter, Taunette Ferguson of Russells Point; a sister, Blanche (Roland) Harrington of DeGraff; four brothers, Robert (Judy) of Huntsville, Ted (Rosalie) of Mount Sterling, Donald (Dianne) of Dunkirk and Frederick (Eileen) of Upper Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dwight Leon II; four brothers, Willis, Franklin and Gail Ferguson, and Harry Everett; and three sisters, Crystal Dodds, Mary Joliff and Hazel Tannehill.
He was a machine operator at D.A.B. and an assistant manager at Bonded Oil from 1975 to 1981. He was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church and the American Legion. He was also a Vietnam Army veteran.
Services were held Feb. 18 at Eichholtz Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, with the Rev. Bryan Meadows officiating. Burial was in Huntsville Cemetery.

Eugene W. Rosenbeck, 78, Chickasaw, died Feb. 19, 1999 at Wapakoneta Manor.
He was born July 7, 1920, in Coldwater to Ben and Rose Huber Rosenbeck. On Nov. 7, 1942, he married Martha Horstman, who survives in St. Marys.
Survivors also include six sons, Eugene B. (Bonnie) Rosenbeck of Wapakoneta, John (Lydia) Rosenbeck of Hardwood, Texas, Dennis Rosenbeck of Cincinnati, Vernon (Karen) Rosenbeck of Russia, Patrick (Lisa) Rosenbeck of Celina and Jeff (Marcia) Rosenbeck of Chickasaw; three daughters, Joan Zachariah of Ada, Rose (Richard) Obringer of Coldwater and Ann (Neal ) Forsthoefel of Lyons, Colo.; 25 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Jean; three brothers; and three sisters.
Mr. Rosenbeck retired from Huffy in Celina. He was a former member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw. He was a member of AMVETS Post 1, Lima. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Feb. 22 at Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, with the Rev. John Bensman officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

John W. Keller Sr., 69, Van Wert, formerly of Scott and Spencerville, died Feb. 19,1999 at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born Oct. 14, 1929, in Spencer Township to William L. "Bill" and Ruth M. Hance Keller.
Survivors include a son, John W. Keller Jr. of Delphos; two daughters, Jo Anna Hawk of Ada and Julie A. (John) Kramer of Delphos; a daughter-in-law, Julie P. Keller of Scott; three brothers, Stanley A. Keller, Gerald D. Keller and Dennis L. "Doc" Keller, all of Spencerville; two sisters, Luella M. French of Spencerville and Linda M. Regula of Wapakoneta; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert James Keller.
Mr. Keller had worked in construction and later worked at Fruehauf Manufacturing, Delphos. He was a life member of Bowersock Brothers Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772 and a former member of Harry J. Reynolds American Legion Post 191, both in Spencerville. He was a member of American Legion Post 178, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 54, both in Van Wert, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471, Orioles Nest 173 and AIW union local of Delphos. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Services were held Feb. 23 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Hennen officiating. Military rites were conducted by VFW Post 6772 and American Legion Post 191. Burial will be at a later date in Spencerville Cemetery.

Mildred Simon, 83, Ada, died March 4, 1999 at her residence in Ada.
She was born Dec. 16, 1915 in Hancock County to Edward "Dutch" and Rosa H. (Badertscher) Simon.
Survivors include special friend and companion for 50 years, Wilma Busch of Ada; three sons, Richard Thomas (Shirley) Evers of Marysville, Calif., Jerry Edward (Jean) Evers of Mt. Prospect, Ill. and Thomas (Judy) Schafer of Fostoria; two daughters, Valerie Rudelis of Ocala, Fla., and Sharon Reich of Elgin, Ill.; three brothers, Dale (Doris) Simon and Evan (Dorothy) Simon, both of Ada, and Harry (Evelyn) Simon of Walbridge; one sister, Alice (Roe) Lansing of Ada; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Louise Evers; and three brothers, (infant) Edward Simon Jr., Carl Simon and Sylvan Simon.
Ms. Simon was a seamstress for Findlay Industries for several years.
Services were held March 6 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Pastor Dan Reed officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.

Edna "Eddy" Akers, 82, Ada, died March 6, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima.
She was born April 9, 1916 in Alger to John and Florence (Howard) Cochran. On Oct. 24, 1942 she married Robert L. Akers, and he preceded her in death July 24, 1954.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
Mrs. Akers was a deli cook at Ohio Northern University for 14 years. She was a member of the Grace Gospel Church of Ada, and a member of the Ada Senior Citizens.
Memorial services were held this morning, March 10 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Dan Reed officiating. There was no visitation and the body was cremated.

Clair W. Kindle, 65, Ada, died March 4, 1999 at his residence after a two year battle with cancer.
He was born Jan. 21, 1934 in Hardin County to Vynal J. and Mabel (Rhodes) Kindle. On June 30, 1956, he married JoAnne Tressel in Ada and she survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Jodi (Jack) Witte of Rockton, Ill., and Kelly (Curt) Murphy of Ada; three sisters, Avanell (Frank) Brace and Doris (Andy) McBride, both of Ada, and Cheryl (Darryl) Quay of Lima; and four grandchildren, Josh Murphy and Eric, Alex and Kimberly Witte.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Lester Kindle.
Mr. Kindle was a lifetime farmer. He also worked 20 years as a soil technician at the Hardin County Soil and Water Conservation District in Kenton. He served in the U. S. Army from 1955-1957 in the Artillery Branch. He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ where he served as a deacon. Since 1977, he attended the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church of Ada.
Mr. Kindle served as a Liberty Township Trustee for 14 years. He was a member of the Hog Creek Drainage Board and the Farm Bureau Council. He was a former board member and past president of the Ada Farmers Exchange. He was a 1952 graduate of Ada High School.
Services were held March 8 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, with the Rev. Karen Walters officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.

Charles Kenneth "Charlie" Swaney, 71, Harrod, died March 3, 1999 at Lake Wales, Fla.
He was born Aug. 29, 1927 in Lima to Lloyd Walter and Mary Thompson Swaney. On April 29, 1950 he married Wilda Jean Miller, and she survives.
Survivors also include five sons, William (Sheree) Swaney of Dublin, Mark (Sandy) Swaney and Joe (Shelly) Swaney, both of Harrod, Brian (Carol) Swaney of Plain City, and Maj. Carlton (Melissa) Swaney of Alexandria, Va.; one daughter, Brenda (Milo) Wellington of Wapakoneta; six brothers, Ralph Swaney and John Swaney, both of Lima, Don Swaney of Harrod, Russell Swaney of Honolulu, Hawaii, Norman Swaney of Lakeview and Larry Swaney of Ruskin, Fla.; four sisters, Wava Mitchell of West Liberty, Judy Craig of Lafayette, Ruth Ogletree of Troy and Mary Jane Augsburger of West Chester; and 18 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Swaney.
Mr. Swaney retired in 1993 from Proctor and Gamble-Lima as an accountant. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Harrod. He was active in local and national recreational leadership workshop laboratories. He was also active in wildlife and conservation efforts. He was a past advisor for 4-H in Harrod.
Services were held March 9 at Lewis Chapel of Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ted Moore and the Rev. Edmund Wells officiating. Military rites were given by VFW Post 1275.

Charles "Slick" Warren Kerr, 69, Phoenix, Ariz., died March 1, 1999, after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Ada on Aug. 29, 1929 to Charles and Lavan Kerr.
Survivors include his wife, Faye; two sons, Dan and Steve; two daughters, Karen Ware and Connie Zimmerman; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Spar of Ada.
Mr. Kerr served overseas in the Armed Forces during the Korean War and later graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering. He and his wife, Faye, left Wheeling, W. Va., in 1963 with three small children and came to Arizona where he founded Phoenix Sheet Metal and A/C Supply Inc. in Sunnyslope. A family business managed with his wife and sons has been successfully growing for 30 years.
Mr. Kerr graduated from Ada High School in 1947.

M. C. "Bud" Amidon, 83, Ada, died Feb. 25, 1999 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
A longtime Edgewater Drive resident of Saybrook, he had lived in Ada since last year.
He was born Nov. 23, 1915, to Mose C. and Letti (Bevinton) Amidon in Ashtabula. He married Naudean Johnson in 1940, and she survives in Ada.
Survivors also include two daughters, Carole Lazor of Columbus and Jean Beckley of Ada; one brother, Douglas Amidon of Leesburg, Fla.; a sister, Virginia Tainsh of Ann Arbor, Mich.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph; and three sisters, Dorothy Beld, Alice Young and Harriet Alexander.
Mr. Amidon worked for Burroughs Corp. until August 1946, when he started his own business, the Amidon Typewriter Co., for 20 years. He also began Amidon Marine Co. in 1954, which he sold to Mr. Sutherland, and the business today is known as Sutherland Marine. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ashtabula, where he served six years as a deacon.
A member of Redbrook Boat Club, he served as Fleet Captain, Rear Commodore, and Commodore during a five-year period, and was also a trustee for three years. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks, Ashtabula. Mr. Amidon belonged to and served on the board of directors for the Ashtabula Area Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, and the Ashtabula Hotel Building Co.
While living in Saybrook, he served as a Saybrook Township trustee, zoning inspector, and was a clerk of the Appeals and Zoning Boards of Saybrook. In 1968, he became a fully registered and licensed account executive with the investment brokerage firm of Saunders, Stiver and Co. In 1973, he became a real estate broker for Romarc Realty.
He graduated from Kingsville High School in 1933, and attended Ashtabula Business College, as well as Burroughs Adding Machine School in Detroit in 1935.
Services were held March 1 at the Ross-Billman Funeral Home, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Stephen Long officiating. Interment followed in Edgewood Cemetery, Ashtabula Township.

Evalyn Lucinda Ramsey, 78, Kenton, died Feb. 28, 1999 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.
She was born Sept. 21, 1920, in Cessna Twp. in Hardin County to William Wilson and Leilah Josephine "Johnson" Wells. On Oct. 14, 1939 she married Marlowe Clarence Ramsey in Kenton, and he died Dec. 19, 1994.
Survivors include two sons, Jerald Marlowe Ramsey of Kenton and Thomas Lee (Pamela) Ramsey of Elida; three daughters, Mary E. (Larry) Justice of Kenton, Joanne E. (Verlin) Shroyer of Benton Harbor, Mich., and Joyce K. (R. Michael) Hubbell of Kenton; three sisters, Mary (William) Wentz of Kenton, Mildred (Richard) Cowan of Huntsville and Mabel (Elmer) Woods of Belle Center; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Josephine Dodds.
Mrs. Ramsey worked in her lifetime at the Ridgewary Post Office, the Mount Victory Cannery, the RBM Factory and the Schindewolf Funeral Home in Kenton. She graduated from Kenton Senior High School in 1938. She was a member of the Ridgeway Methodist Church, and the Hardin County Genealogical Society, researching and compiling genealogical books on the Wells-Vermillion family and the Alexander-Ramsey family.
Services were held March 3 at Schindewolf-Stevens-Stout Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Ramsey officiating. Burial was in Ridgeway Cemetery.

Hazel Dell Parker Altman, 101, Lima, died March 2, 1999 at Lost Creek Care Center.
She was born Feb. 26, 1898, in Peru, Ind., to Issiah Roy and Elnora Cox Hammell. She married William Parker, who died May 27, 1953. In 1968 she married Cloyce Altman, who died in 1980.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Parker of Houghton Lake, Mich., William (Naomi) Parker Jr. of Harrod and Joe (Rose) Parker of Lima; a daughter, Goldie Cook of Ann Arbor, Mich.; several stepchildren; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel and Harold Parker; four brothers, Edward F., Theodore, Charles and James Hammell; and a sister, Maggie Lemming.
Mrs. Altman was a homemaker and a nurse in home health care. She was a member of Garden City Christian Union Church. She had attended Elderly Day Care Center.

Estella Beatrice Wertzberger, 84, Lima, died March 7, 1999 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
She was born Oct. 18, 1914, in Columbus Grove to Ralph and Mary Matilda Kerner Schindler. On Aug. 22, 1951, she married Harry W. Wertzberger, who died Dec. 26, 1967.
Survivors include two daughters, Beatrice (Elwood) Vorhes of Harrod and Mary Elizabeth Githens of Gibsonton, Fla.; two brothers, Richard Schindler of Lima and Alva Schindler of California; a sister, Mabel Basil of Lima; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.
Mrs. Wertzberger was a homemaker. She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and 8/40 Club.

Irene E. McBride, 91, Columbus Grove, died March 2, 1999 at her residence.
She was born June 22, 1907 in Rimer to Edwin O. and Mary (Deffenbaugh) Myers. She married Charles I. McBride and he preceded her in death in 1951.
Survivors include one son, Jim (Kay) McBride of Delta; two daughters, Jean Hanson of Ada and Pat (Don) Roethlisberger of Columbus Grove; one sister, Grace (Walt) Huber of Napoleon; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. McBride was a homemaker and had worked at Westinghouse Corp. in Lima for 29 years. She was a volunteer for 27 years at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was also a member of the Columbus Grove United Church of Christ.
Services were held March 5 at Columbus Grove United Church of Christ, with Pastor Bert C. Ambrose II officiating. Burial was in Truro Cemetery.

Mary M. McPheron, 69, Dola, died March 17, 1999 at her residence in rural Dola.
She was born June 27, 1929 in Lima to Leo C. and Gwendolyn N. (Bowser) Matson. On March 4, 1951, she married Robert G. McPheron, and he survives in rural Dola.
Survivors also include two sons, Carl (Charlene) McPheron and Calvin (Sonna) McPheron, both of Dola; five grandchildren, John L. McPheron, William D. McPheron, Ernest McPheron, Casandra Allen and Michael Allen; four nephews; several great-nephews and nieces; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Dreese of Coldwater.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Chandler Matson; two uncles, four aunts; and a sister-in-law, Mary Alice Place; and a nephew, Jerry Place.
Mrs. McPheron was a registered nurse. She was a 1947 graduate of Lima South High School. She graduated in 1950 from St. Rita's School of Nursing. She retired in 1996 from the Hardin County Home in Kenton. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9381 Ladies Auxiliary of Ada.
Services were held March 21 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with the Rev. Calvin Waugh officiating. Burial was in Dola Cemetery.

Dr. Mark Lenssen, 50, Ada, died March 17, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.
He was born Jan. 13, 1949 in Seattle, Wash., to Theodore J. and June (Larson) Lenssen, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 30, 1975, he married Debra J. Smith, and she survives in Ada.
Survivors also include two daughters, Anneka Lenssen of Ada and Elisa Lenssen at home; and one brother, John (Kathryn Henderson) Lenssen of Albany, Ore.
Dr. Lenssen was a professor of philosophy and religion. He was the chair of the department of philosophy and religion and chair of the division of humanities. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Pomona College, and the master's degree and Ph.D from Northwestern University.
He was appointed instructor of philosophy and religion in 1978 and promoted to assistant professor in 1980, associate professor in 1983 and professor in 1992. He has been chair of the department of philosophy and religion since 1993.
Dr. Lenssen has published many reviews, served as editorial reviewer and program committee member for professional philosophy associations and had given several presentations at regional and national meetings. Dr. Lenssen received a study grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
At Ohio Northern University he has held the Sara A. Ridenour Chair in Humanities. He was also head coach of the men's tennis team and his teams have won three conference championships.
Dr. Lenssen was a member of the American Philosophical Association, American Association of Philosophy Teachers, and the North American Nietzsche Society.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ada. He was a graduate of Nathan Hale High School in 1967 in Seattle, Wash., and was an Eagle Scout.
Currently Dr. Lenssen has been a leader in the development of a new Honors Program for the undergraduates attending Ohio Northern University.
Public memorial services were held March 23 at English Chapel at Ohio Northern University, with Chaplain Vernon F. LaSala and the Rev. George Reed, O.S.L. officiating.

Maia R. Zafirova, 51, New Jersey, formerly of Columbus and Ada, died suddenly as the result of an auto accident in Joliet, Ill., on March 16, 1999.
She was a professor of biology at the College of New Jersey and formerly a professor of biology at Ohio Northern University, Ada.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Dr. Dimiter Zafirov; a son, Hristo Zafirov of Worthington; a daughter, Zdravka Zafirova of Southern Illinois University; and two sisters, Ina Petkova and Vilhra Bocheva.
Services were held March 20 at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel. Interment was in Union Cemetery.
William "Bill" Contris, 80, Gadsden, Ala., formerly of Lafayette, died March 16, 1999 at Baptist Hospital, Gadsden, Ala.
He was born April 7, 1918 in Lafayette to Chuck and Hulda (Herr) Contris. On Nov. 7, 1938, he married Maxine Judy, who survives.
Survivors also include four sons, Charles (Joan) Contris of Alabama, Don (Mona) Contris of Bowling Green, Denny (Janie) Contris of Gadsden, Ala. and David (Beverly) Contris of Goldsboro, N.C.; two daughters, Karol (Del) Wells of Lafayette and Tammy Contris of Elko, Ga.; and two sisters, Ester Nonamaker and Lucille Bassitt of Phoenix, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Mickle; a sister, Margarite Hines; and a brother, Charles Contris.
Mr. Contris previously owned and operated the Barr Hotel, Pioneer Bar and the Lima Speedway. He was also the owner of several meat packing companies. He attended Lafayette Congregational Christian Church.
Services were held March 19 at Crestwood Chapel Funeral Home, Gadsden, Ala., with the Revs. Doug Welch and Gene Harris officiating. Burial was in Crestwood Cemetery, Gadsden, Ala.

James "Jim" A. Koogler, 78, Lima, died March 16, 1999 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 26, 1921, in Beaverdam to Clyde R. and Chelsa V. Yoakam Miller Koogler. On May 10, 1942, he married Margaret A. Hefner, and she survives.
Survivors also include four sons, Kenneth (Roz) Koogler of Vaughnsville, James Lynn Koogler and Nelson E. (Sharon) Koogler, both of Lima, and Ross M. (Kywana) Koogler of Belle Center; one sister, Rosella (Joe) Hefner of Lima; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Eldon Koogler.
Mr. Koogler retired in 1983 as a milkman with Oak Farms in Findlay after 30 years. He had also worked at Loesher's Greenhouse, Kroger's, Woolen Mills, and most currently at Dave's Market in Bluffton. He was a 1940 graduate of Lafayette-Jackson High School. He was a U. S. Army World War II veteran, and a member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren.
Services were held March 20 at Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Kathleen Barkley and the Rev. Charles Warren officiating. Burial was in Lewis Grove Cemetery.

Dolores Ann Bogardus Morris, 69, St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of LIma, died March 13, 1999 at her residence.
She was born in Lima.
Survivors include a brother, Ronald Bogardus of Ada; and two sisters, Shirley Morris of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Barbara Fensler of Jessup, Ga.
Mrs. Morris was a bookkeeper for Rutland Bank, St. Petersburg, Fla., for 15 years. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
Arrangements were by National Cremation Society, St. Petersburg, Fla.
Ruth K. Heckman, 89, Marion, formerly of Dola, died March 14, 1999 at Marion General Hospital.
She was born June 24, 1909, in Arlington, to Alvin and Viola (Bergor) Yoxsimer. On Aug. 2, 1932, she married Frank W. Heckman, who survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Nancy Ann (George) Ambrose of Miami, Fla.; one son, Richard (Agnes) of Maumee and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Mrs. Heckman grew up in Dola. She worked as a registered nurse in her younger years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, a member of O. of I. and a volunteer in the St. Mary's School cafeteria for more than 50 years.
Services were held March 17 at St. Mary's Church, Marion, by the Rev. Rodney Damico. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Marion.

Wava Bonnetta Cummings, 80, Waynesfield, died March 15, 1999 at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home, Wapakoneta.
She was born March 12, 1919, in Santa Fe to Howard R. and Ethel Naylor Arthur. On March 16, 1940, she married Harry W. Cummings, who died March 13, 1987.
Survivors include a son, Dale E. (Jean) Cummings of Waynesfield; a daughter, Joyce (Larry L.) Shaffer of Wapakoneta; five brothers, Wilson Arthur, Gerald Arthur and Ronald "Dick" Arthur, all of Lima, Herschel Arthur of Waynesfield and Mack Arthur of Harrod; a sister, Maxine Hedrick of Waynesfield; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Vern Arthur.
Mrs. Cummings was a homemaker. She was a former member of Waynesfield Baptist Church, and Calvary Baptist Church of Cridersville.
Services were held March 19 at Van Horn Funeral Home, Lakeview, with the Rev. Donald F. Smith officiating. Burial was in Willow Branch Cemetery, Waynesfield.

Ouida "Pat" Parks, 81, Marion, died March 18, 1999 at Community Health Care Center.
She was born in Ocilla, Ga., on Jan. 13, 1918, to Charles John and Mary Graham Whitley. On Feb. 5, 1937, she married Olis E. Parks, who preceded her in death, as did her two brothers, her sister, and a great-grandchild.
Survivors include two sons, Bob Parks of Willis, Texas and Tom Parks of Van Wert; four daughters, Joyce Hall of Columbus, JoAnn Beerman of Johnstown, Jean Keil of Cardington and Shirley Goodwin of Newark; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Parks was a 1937 graduate of North High School in Akron. She was a former postmistress of the Alger Post Office and also worked at the post office in Lima.
Services were held March 22 at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home with Chaplain Carver Williams officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. John's Windfall Cemetery.

Lawrence R. Hassan, 92, Kenton, died March 16, 1999 at Hardin Hills Health Center in Kenton.
He was born May 12, 1906, in Hardin County, to Robert and Sarah "Borger" Hassan. On March 12, 1935, in Hardin County, he was married to Catherine Obenour, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Jean (Neil) Gillfillian of Grove City, one son, Dwight (Rose) of Ada; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, a half brother and a half sister.
Mr. Hassan was a retired farmer. He was a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church and the Hardin County Farm Bureau.
Graveside services were held March 18 in Grove Cemetery by Pastor Thomas Hite.
Memorials may be made to the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church.
Mae Lucille Baker, 89, Ada, died March 15, 1999 at her residence.
She was born Feb. 10, 1910 in Van Wert County to James William and Anna Klingel Dotson. In 1929 she married Elvin Guy Baker, who died Feb. 23, 1987.
Survivors include four sons, Elvin (Becky) Baker of Prescott, Ariz., Richard G. (Lucy) Baker and Carl Baker, both of Lima, and Robert Baker of Waldron, Mich.; four daughters, Janet (Keith) Garbeson and Carolyn (Joseph) Schmidt, both of Columbus Grove, Marilyn (Robert) Welch of Beaverdam and Joyce (Doug) Brown of Ada; 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
She as preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Homer Dotson.
Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and a member of the Congregational Christian Church, Lafayette.
Services were held March 18 at Congregational Christian Church, with the Rev. Robert Brown officiating. Interment was in Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima.
