Florence Ella Henry, 82, of Cadiz, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Gables Care Center, Hopedale, OH. She was born in Logan Co., OH, on June 24, 1918, the daughter of the late Sewell Henry and Minnie Wynn Henry.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz.
She was a volunteer and member of the Auxiliary at Harrison Community Hospital in Cadiz; former member of Chancel Choir at Presbyterian Church of Cadiz; avidly pursued crocheting, quilting and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Smylie Henry in 1987; 2 brothers, Herman and Howard Henry.
Surviving are 2 sisters, Mrs. Vincent (Goldie) Stevens, Chelsea, MI, Mrs. Glen (Gladys) Thayer, Milan, MI; 1 brother, Arthur and his wife Alice Henry, Milford, IN; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz.
The funeral will be Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Bill Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery, Cadiz.

Jerry "Jake" Manbeck
Jerry "Jake" Manbeck, 62, of Cadiz, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born in East Cadiz on June 27, 1938, the son Mary Frances McKnight Manbeck and the late Charles F. Manbeck.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator for the R & F Coal Co. of Cadiz and a peacetime veteran of the U. S. Air Force.
Surviving are his wife, Martha J. Gilson Manbeck; his mother; two sons, Charles Manbeck and his wife, Lorry, of Indianapolis, IN, and Douglas Manbeck of Cadiz; a daughter, Tina Ray and her husband, Jeff, of Cadiz; a brother, Charles Manbeck of Cadiz; a sister, Elizabeth Manbeck of Cadiz; 11 grandchildren.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where the funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Terry Baker officiating. Burial will be at Longview Cemetery, New Athens.

William A. "Bill" Hamilton
William A. "Bill" Hamilton, 95, of Cadiz, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2001, at the Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. He was born on Jan. 13, 1905, in Opperman, OH, the son of the late John F. Hamilton and Marian Hilton Hamilton.
He was a retired coal miner from Y & O Coal, a farmer and former owner/operator of the former Hamilton General Store in Unionport, OH.
At attended the Cadiz Church of the Nazerene and was a member of UMWA Local Chapter 283.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Florence Cale Hamilton; an infant son, William Russell Hamilton and a brother, Robert Hamilton.
Surviving are two sons, Emmet and his wife, Shirley Hamilton of Hopedale and Charles (Chuck) and his wife, Ila Hamilton of Cadiz; a daughter, Ethel Newburn and her husband, Blaine, of Unionport, OH; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where the funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ernest Creamer officiating. Burial will be at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
Sharon "Shari" Barnhart
Sharon "Shari" Barnhart, 57, of Cadiz, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at the Harrison Community Hospital in Cadiz.
She was born in Wheeling, WV, on July 24, 1943, the daughter of the late David M. Griffiths and Jean Farnsworth Griffiths.
A wife and mom, she was a member of the Living Water Assembly of God Church, Cadiz, and a past member of the Cadiz Wrestling Parents and Football Mothers.
In addition her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Griffiths and a sister, Penny Barnhart.
Surviving are her husband, Ralph Barnhart of Cadiz; two sons, Doug Barnhart and his wife, Vonda, of Tappan, OH, and Jeff Barnhart and his wife, Dawn, of Cadiz; a daughter, Shawna Barnhart of Cadiz; three grandchildren, Lexis, Cheyenne and Ashlyn Barnhart, all of Cadiz; a sister, Mrs. James (Doreen) Hooker of Statesville, NC; a special uncle, Gary Farnsworth of Uhrichsville, OH.
The funeral was Wednesday, Jan. 3, with Rev. Paul Hamilton officiating and burial at Cadiz Union Cemetery.

Riley Savannah Raber, two months old, died on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2000, at the Harrison Community Hospital in Cadiz.
The child on Oct. 5, 2000, in Pittsburgh, PA. Parents are Robert J. and Stacey Waller Raber of Hopedale.
The baby was preceded in death by a grandfather, Robert J. Raber Sr, and a great-great-grandmother, Beulah Hawthorne.
Surviving are the parents, a brother, Anthony Raber of the home; maternal grandparents, Steve and Lorna Waller of Sherrodsville; paternal grandmother, Karen Cunningham of Steubenville; great grandparents, Graces Grimes of Cadiz and Louise Cornett of Crooksville, OH; two aunts, Erin DeLucas of Cadiz and Denise Blosser of Somerset, OH.

Mary R. "Mae" Bikoski, 85, 124 Park Ave, Adena, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at home. She was born in Dillonvale, OH, on Sep. 15, 1915, a daughter of the late John Rygelski and Apolonia Stephanic Rygelski.
She was a member of St. Casimir's Catholic Church, Adena, the Rosary Society, The Catholic Women's Club, CD of A, and a Eucharistic Minister of St. Casimirs Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Bernadine Spence; two brother, Joseph and Herman Jeskey; three sisters, Helen Popkie, Sally Blessing and Dorothy Hurley.
Surviving are her husband, Henry J. Bikoski; three sons, Henry Bikoski and his wife, Mary Sue, of Garden Grove, CA, Robert R. Bikoski and his wife, Joan of Kempner, TX, and James Bikoski and his wife, Brenda, of Washington, PA; two daughters, Mary Martha Carter and her husband, Dean, of Adena, and Deborah Bikoski of Lake Elizabeth, CA.
The funeral was Wednesday at St. Casimirs Church with Msgr. John Kolesar as celebrant. Burial was at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.

Kathryn Pauline Skinner O'Neil, 79, of Akron, OH, formerly of Cadiz, Ohio and Las Vegas, Nevada died Monday, April 9, 2001 at Akron City Hospital, Akron, OH. She was born in Trimble, OH, on Jan. 9, 1922, the daughter of the late John Skinner and Lucille Jewett Skinner.
She was a member of First Church of God, Cadiz.
In addition to her parents. she was preceded in death by her husband John W. O'Neil and an infant brother.

She was a retired cook for the former R&F Coal Co., Cadiz.
She was a member of East Warren Street Church of Christ, Cadiz.
In addition to her parents. she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Jerome, Jim and Friend Yoho; 2 sisters, Lucy Matthews and Joan Cresta.

Albert T. Swelbar Jr., 72, of Cadiz, OH, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at his home. He was born in West Moreland co., PA, on March 29, 1928, a son of the late Albert T. (Blackie) Swelbar, Sr. and Anna Jane Exton Swelbar.
He was a driller for 22 years with Consolidation Coal co., Cadiz.
He was a protestant by faith, Veteran of the Air Force, Korean Conflict, and a former member of Cadiz American Legion Post #34.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

She was a former Office Manager of Park Central Presbyterian Church in Syracuse, NY; former Office Manager and Member of Onondaga Valley Presbyterian Church, Syracuse, NY and a former Office Manager of Presbyterian Synod of the Northeast, Syracuse, NY.
She was an Elder Member of Presbyterian Church in Cadiz, OH, A Laubach Literacy Tutor in New York and Ohio, and she was an extremely active member of each of her churches.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Leonard and Delmonte Baxter; an infant brother, Leo Baxter; 1 sister, Rose Martyn.

Virginia M. Robinson, 76, Cadiz, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at her home. She was born in Harrison County, OH, on May 7, 1925, the daughter of the late Kersey T. Sargent and Leota Morgan Sargent.
She was a member of the Springdale Friends Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Robinson, in 1992.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald of Cadiz and Gary and his wife, Cathy, also of Cadiz; a daughter, Mrs. Terry (Wanda) Galey of Cadiz; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Doris Aukerman Russell
Doris Aukerman Russell, 90, of Cadiz, and formerly of Deersville, died Sunday, June 17, at the Harrison Community Hospital in Cadiz. She was born on June 4, 1911, in Massillon, OH, the daughter of the late Milton Huff and Katherin Pitts Huff.
A retired director of the Harrison County Board of Elections, she was a member of the Women's Association of Presbyterian Church; Unionport Chapter 360, Order of Eastern Star, Cadiz Aerie 2162 Fraternal of Eagles Auxiliary, Harrison County Democratic Women's Club. She was an avid piano player and, at one time, played in a local band.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis J. (Bun) Aukerman in 1974; her second husband, William H. Russell in 1998; and a brother, Herbert Huff.
Surviving are a stepson, W. Judson Russell of Rockwall, TX; three stepdaughters, Beverly DeSantis of Riverhead, NY, Jahcolyn Nelman of Ovledo, FL; Shelley Herter of Cassellberry, FL; 12 step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren; one step great great grandchild; a sister in law, Avis Huff of Uhrichsville, OH.
The Russell family, her neighbors and friends, including Lee and Donna Butler of Cadiz, will greatly miss her free and indomitable spirit.

He was a retired Dragline Operator for Bedway and Cravat Coal Companies, and a US Air Force Veteran of WWII.

She was employed as a Department Head at Carriage Inn of Cadiz.

He was a retired Lumberjack and Road Construction Truck Driver.
He was a member of Cadiz Congregation of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, an avid Flea Marketer, Gardner and Antique Tool Collector.

Marian Walker, 97, Cadiz, formerly of Deersville, OH, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001 at the Harrison County Home, Cadiz, OH. She was born in Washington Twp., Harrison Co., OH on Nov. 2, 1903, the daughter of James and Alice Mallernee.
She was a retired employee of Scio Pottery, a clerical worker at several Cadiz area stores, a dear mother, a best friend and a hard worker.
She was a member of Deersville United Methodist Church and its Missionary Society.
She was a member of Cadiz Country club and a volunteer at Harrison Community Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Walker (July 5, 1925); a son, Vernon Walker (Jan. 21, 1957); 3 sisters; 2 brothers.
Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Vasbinder, Cadiz; twin grandsons, James and Jerry Walker, both of Columbus; 2 great grandsons, Alan Walker, San Francisco, Christopher Walker, Columbus; 1 great granddaughter, Jennifer Walker, Columbus.

He was a 40 year employee of Consolidation Coal co., Piney Fork and Moundsville mines.
He was a member of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, Dillonvale, UMWA, PNA Lodge, Pine Valley Sportsmen's Club, Adena.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Kovaleski) Borkowski; 5 brothers, Herman, Stanley, Frank, Bill and John; 3 sisters, Helen, Pearl and Katherine.

Albert William Wright, III, 29, Freeport, OH, formerly of Cadiz, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, the result of a mining accident. He was born in Canton, OH, on Dec. 2, 1971, the son of Albert William Wright, Jr., Cadiz and the late Jeri Crafton Wright.
He was a Coal Miner at AEP Ohio Coal Company, Cadiz.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Mervin and Ada Crafton

Beverly J. Atkins, 64, Hopedale, OH, died Wed. Nov.7, 2001 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, OH. She was born June 18, 1939 in Harrison County, OH, the daughter of the late James Franklin Thompson and Iva Thompson.
She was a Protestant by Faith.
She was a member of Hopedale Firemen's Auxiliary and Hopedale American Legion Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Arthur (Art) Atkins.
