David K. Hinderman
David K. Hinderman, 53, of Brook Park, died Friday, March 16, 2001, at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born July 19, 1947, at Medina Community Hospital. He worked at the Ford Motor Co. casting plant. He enjoyed throwing darts, playing billiards and golf. He also enjoyed fishing, locksmithing and being a masseuse.
He is survived by his mother, Eileen Hinderman of Medina; daughter, Traci S. (Roy) Range of Olmsted Falls; son, Trent J. (Carolyn) Hinderman of Olmsted Township; sisters, Kathleen A. Hinderman and Terri L. Kunkler, both of Lodi, Peggy Jo Garnsey of Creston, Pamela J. Foster of Oklahoma and Teddi L. Sunkel of Wooster; and brothers, Kevin S. Hinderman and Brian K. Hinderman, both of Kentucky, and Timothy S. Hinderman of Medina.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Hinderman.

Joseph G. Maynard
Joseph G. Maynard, 78, of Hinckley Township, died Friday, March 16, 2001, in Medina.
He was born March 5, 1923, in Kentucky and was a Medina County resident since 1964. He was an ink proofer for American National Can for 37 years. Mr. Maynard enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and his beagles. He served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Maynard is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mabel (nee Domincik); sons, Ralph T. (Gloria) Maynard of California and Richard J. (Susan) Maynard of Minnesota; daughters, Rose M. (Robert) McGuire of Cleveland and Rita A. Blough (fiancé Jim Miktuk) of Medina; sister, Tennie Leslie of Cleveland; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Russell.

Donald O. Walling
Donald O. Walling, 85, of Medina, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at Ohio Pythian Sisters Home in Medina following a short illness.
He was born in Salomina, Ind., and moved to Medina County in the early 1940s, where he and his wife owned and operated a dairy farm for many years. He used to manage and play baseball at the former Abbeyville Ballfield. Mr. Walling was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Valley City. He and his wife were part of the first team of couples involved in starting the tape ministry for the church. Mr. Walling enjoyed following the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and boxing.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gertrude (nee Roth); son, Jim Walling of Brunswick; daughter, Nancy Walling of Medina; grandsons, Brent and Jason Walling; sister, Norma Moehle of Medina; and brother, Elmer Walling Jr. of Middleburg Heights.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Mayme Walling; sister, Lucille Sontos; and brother, Robert Walling.

Jack B. Able
Jack B. Able, 78, of Lodi, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2001, at home following a period of declining health.
He was born in Akron, where he lived most of his life before moving to Lodi 10 years ago. Mr. Able was a graduate of Green High School and the University of Akron. He was an accountant for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Akron for 44 years. Mr. Able was a member of Lodi United Methodist Church and former member of Lodi Ruritan Club. He was a volunteer for United Way and former Boy Scout leader. He was active in Scouting for 50 years.
Mr. Able is survived by his stepson, Jim (Kathleen) Hastings of Litchfield Township; stepdaughter, Jane (Joe) Notch of Massillon; stepgrandchildren and caregivers, Tom and Melissa Smithberger of Lodi; a number of stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and close friend, Daisy Barker of Lodi.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth, and second wife, Tootie Hastings Able.

Jane E. Benford
Jane E. Benford, 83, of Wadsworth, passed away Friday, March 16, 2001.
She was born Feb. 25, 1918, in Cleveland to Emil and Mayme Spirek. Mrs. Benford was raised and lived more than half her life in Spencer. She was a Wadsworth resident since 1968. She was a beloved and successful wife, mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Reynold "Bennie" Benford; son and daughter-in-law, William and Paula Benford of Calabasas, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Cathryn and Dallen Botdorf of Orrville; and grandchildren, Brad and Amy Botdorf, and Michael Benford.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond Spirek; and two infant sons.
There will be a memorial service at a later date.

Myrtle V. Christy
Myrtle Viola Christy, 86, of Medina, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2001, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Rittman, where she resided for the last nine months.
She was born June 7, 1914, in New Effington, S.D., to Benjamin Franklin and Josephine Borgen Harn and grew up in Veblen, S.D. She later lived in Spokane, Wash., and moved to the Medina area in 1947. Mrs. Christy was a homemaker and enjoyed returning to South Dakota annually.
She is survived by her husband, Gaylord, whom she married on Oct. 31, 1946, in Sand Point, Idaho; brothers, Elmer Harn of Reno, Nev., and Ervin (Evelyn) Harn of Vale, Ore.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Stevens and Caroline Olsen, and brothers, Ernest, Clifford and Benjamin Harn.
Service: 1 p.m. Thursday at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi. The Rev. Randy K'Meyer will officiate.

Ronald K. Crawford, 54, of Spencer, died Friday, March 16, 2001, at Lodi Community Hospital.
He was born March 26, 1946, in Gastonia, Ga., and was a Medina County resident for three months, formerly of Old Brooklyn, a Cleveland suburb. Mr. Crawford was employed as a line coordinator with Ford Motor Co., Cleveland. He was a member of the National Pool League, Southwest Eight Ball League and the Regional Pigeon Association. Mr. Crawford served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Tammie M. Crawford (nee Rice) of Spencer; daughters, Leisha and Ronda Crawford, both of Cleveland, and Jessica Kulik of Spencer; sons, Ronald Crawford Jr. of Lancaster and Timothy Kulik Jr. of Lobleville, Tenn.; mother, Leslie Crawford of Knoxville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; sisters, Teresa Crawford of Knoxville and Charlene Crawford of Cleveland; and brothers, Rick Crawford of Marietta, Ga., Gary Crawford of Phoenix and Charles Crawford of Taylor, Mich.

Waver J. McCourt, 57, of Medina, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital.
She was born Nov. 25, 1943, in Lodi and was a lifetime resident of Medina County. Mrs. McCourt was employed with the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier and also worked in the administrative office in Medina. She was a lifetime member of Medina Assembly of God.
She is survived by her son, Richard "Cave Man" Williams and Scott (Denise) McCourt, all of Medina; daughters, Cheryl Willis of Cleveland, Georgia DeVore of Brunswick and Traci (Cameron) Karger of Mansfield; stepsons, Jeffery (Deborah) McCourt of Wadsworth, James (Trudy) McCourt of Spencer and Richard (Pamela) McCourt of Medina; father, Victor Seeley of Medina; grandchildren, Ashley McCourt, Victoria Willis, Caleb and Chase Williams, Addison Karger, and Darren, Kara and Austin Grabel; brothers, Ron (Patricia) Seeley of Valley City and William Joseph Seeley of Spencer; and sister, Patricia (Robert) Yost of Westfield Center.

Cheryl A. Mikalacki
Cheryl Ann (nee Boone) Mikalacki, 40, of Greenwich, Ohio, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at the Hospice of Visiting Nurse Center in Copley after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Cleveland and resided there until moving to Medina County in 1976. She then moved to Greenwich in 1994. Mrs. Mikalacki graduated from Medina County JVS in 1978, where she studied animal care. She was a member of FFA. A couple of years later, she graduated with an associate's degree from the OSU branch at ATI in Wooster. She was a waitress for 12 years at Rustic Inn, Medina. Mrs. Mikalacki enjoyed creative craft making of all kinds, gardening, antiques and had an avid love of reading and animals. She will be remembered by many for her loving and gentle personality.
Mrs. Mikalacki is survived by her husband, John, whom she married on June 18, 1994; daughters, Rebeka Lynn, 41/2, and Rachael, 21/2, both at home; parents, Ron and Theresa (nee Krupar) of York Township; brother, Allen (Cherine) Boone, of Suwanee, Ga.; in-laws, Jean and Ed Violett of Litchfield Township and John G. Mikalacki of Dearborn, Mich.; brothers-in-law, Jeff (Betsy) Mikalacki of Medina and Joe Mikalacki of Sterling; sister-in-law, Joan Frey of Spencer; grandparents-in-law, Ladd and Louis Praisler of Medina; and nieces and nephews.

Lois E. Scott
Lois E. Scott, 87, of Lodi, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2001, at Smithville Western Care Center in Wooster, where she had resided the past six months.
She was born March 30, 1913, in the Methodist parsonage in Ashley, Ohio, to the Rev. Charles and Josephine Howard Cole. She was a graduate of North Fairfield High School. Mrs. Scott received her teaching certificate from Ohio University and taught elementary school for several years in North Fairfield, Plymouth and Lodi. She and her husband owned and operated Scott & Sons IGA in Lodi from 1938 to 1961. They later joined with Ray and Verna Turk in 1959 to build and operate Strike & Spare Lanes in Lodi. Mrs. Scott was a member of Lodi United Methodist Church and Lodi Chapter 137 Order of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years, where she was past matron. She loved her family and friends.
Mrs. Scott is survived by her sons, Chuck (Pat) Scott of Brentwood, Tenn., Larry (Irene) Scott of Westfield Center and Tom (Bonnie) Scott of Medina; grandchildren, Jo (Richard) Drumright of Brentwood, Jim (Val) Scott of Anderson, Ind., Barb (Brad) Dawson of Medina, Pam (Steve) Bredemeier of Bexley, Ohio, David (Colleen) Scott of Hilliard, Brian (Sandy) Scott of Mason, Ohio, and Sue (Bo) Thompson of Medina; and great-grandchildren, Will, Rachel, Taylor, Zach, Jeremy, Curtis, Joy, Ethan, Henry, Annie and Casey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Correl E., in 1981, whom she married on June 20, 1934; sisters, Helen Fee and Margaret Harry; and brother, Howard Cole.

Dorothy Ellis Martonicz, 81, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at Hospice Savannah Inc.
She was a native of Savannah, Ga., and a resident of Florida and Ohio, living the past two years in Savannah. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church E.L.C.A.
Mrs. Martonicz is survived by her daughter, D. Gail Martonicz of Medina; son and daughter-in-law, Charles J. and Faith Martonicz of Indianapolis; granddaughters, Michelle Morrow of Medina, Sonya Martonicz of Indianapolis and Dawn Ferguson of Florida; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Eric and Buffy Martonicz of Medina; great-grandchild, Mikali Martonicz of Medina; and several nieces and nephews.

Wade W. Hovater
Wade W. Hovater, 84, of Chatham Township, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Lodi Community Hospital.
He was born Aug. 18, 1916, in Tuscumbia, Ala., and was a Medina County resident for 46 years. Mr. Hovater was employed as a dock worker for Anderson Motor Service and was a security guard for RPM for 13 years. He was a loving grandfather and enjoyed gardening and fishing. Mr. Hovater served in the Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Essie Hovater (nee Phillips) of Chatham; daughter, Janice (Michael) Mangan of Chatham; and grandchildren, Mackenze, Shane and Erin Mangan.

Wanda M. Reich
Wanda M. Reich, 86, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Magnolia Care & Rehabilitation Center in Wadsworth after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Reich was born in Medina and resided in Sharon Center most of her life. She was a member of Medina Fraternal Order of Eagles 2224. She was a cook at Otto's Grotto and formerly a waitress at Medina Eagles. Mrs. Reich enjoyed cards and bingo.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Karren and Don Crabtree of Sharon Township and Georgia and Mark LoGuidice of Wadsworth Township; grandchildren, Donnie Crabtree and Coleman and Clayton LoGuidice.

Nadine Uziel (nee Ostasevich), 83, passed away Friday, March 16, 2001.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph; loving mother of Doris (Alex, deceased) Solanics and Daniel (Marsha) Uziel; dear grandmother of Maren and Adam Uziel; sister of Mary (John) Marhefka and the late John Ostasevich. She is survived by many friends.

Douglas L. Van Wie
Douglas Lee Van Wie, 33, of Virginia Beach, Va., died Monday, March 19, 2001.
He was a native of Hinckley Township and an avid runner, competing in the Revco Marathon in 1992. He was Catholic by faith and an Army veteran, having served with the 10th Mountain Division during the Persian Gulf War.
Mr. Van Wie is survived by his mother, Ruth M. Devlin of Virginia Beach; stepfather, Stephen Devlin of Virginia Beach; brother, Lawrence Leroy Van Wie of Cleveland; maternal grandparents, Vincent and Gertrude Sittnick of Virginia Beach; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private services will be held at Quantico National Cemetery.

Robert Anthony, 86, of Medina, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Medina General Hospital.
He was born Dec. 10, 1914, in Fitzhugh, Ark., and was a Medina County resident since 1966 and an Ohio resident for 35 years. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and gardening. Mr. Anthony was a foreman/supervisor for Permold Co., Medina.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby L. Anthony (nee Roberson), to whom he was married 62 years; sons, Edward L. Anthony and Harry W. (Earline) Anthony; daughter, Jeanette (Harry) Tripp; (Louise Tripp, Monica Slayton) g.; 12 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ethel Reynolds.

Hilda B. Cross, 93, of Medina, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Medina General Hospital.
She was born in Cadiz, Ohio, and was a Medina County resident for six years, formerly of Coshocton. She was a member of Presbyterian Church in Coshocton, where she enjoyed playing in the hand bell choir. She was an avid bridge player and lifelong Cleveland Indians fan. Mrs. Cross worked for the Cleveland and Coshocton public libraries and was secretary for the board of trustees of the Coshocton library.
She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Cross of Columbus and Judith Cross of Medina; son and daughters-in-law, Leslie and Norma Cross Jr. of Tampa, Fla., and John and Toni Cross of Westerville; Brenda Wiseman, who was like a daughter; granddaughter, Martha; great-grandchildren, Jonathon and Leslie Ann; and six nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
Memorial service: 3 p.m. Tuesday at Camelot Place on Leisure Lane in Medina.
Burial: Barlow Cemetery, Beverly, Ohio.

She was born Feb. 5, 1918, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Howard J. and Lois Ayling Mosier. She married Archer Dague on Feb. 11, 1940, in Lodi and resided there before moving to Wooster last year. Mrs. Dague was employed at the Bailey Mfg. Co. in Lodi, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Crawford Corners Grace United Methodist Church, longtime member of Harrisville Grange and Lodi Hospital Auxiliary. She was a founding board member of Lodi Library and also was a member of Lodi Historical Society and Lodi Saddle Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Diana Lucas (friend, Gordon Makley) of Macedonia and Mrs. Paul (Margo Suzann) Stafford of Wooster; five grandchildren; two great-grandsons; sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Margaret) Brubaker and Mrs. Nobel (Virginia) Hitchcock, both of Wooster; brothers, Ivan (Vivian) Mosier of Big Prairie, Ohio, and Patrick (Carolyn) Mosier of Smithville. She was a mother, grandmother and dear friend to many others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Archer, in 2000; one sister; and six brothers.
Memorial service: 7 p.m. Tuesday at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi. The Rev. David Howell of Lodi will officiate.
Burial: Woodlawn Cemetery, Lodi.

Kathryn N. Dempsey
Kathryn N. Dempsey, 84, of Liberty Residence in Wadsworth, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital.
She was born March 29, 1916, in Akron to John and Elizabeth (Baker) Neidert and lived most of her life in Seville. She graduated from Seville High School in 1934. She and her husband owned and operated Pat's Market in Seville for 26 years and retired in 1969. She was a member of Seville United Methodist Church and Guilford Grange for more than 50 years. She was historian of Seville High School Alumni Association and was very active in the Seville Historical Society. She was named Sevillian of the Year in 1995.
Mrs. Dempsey is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Zsilli and Mrs. Al (Eva) Mocher, both of Wadsworth, and Mrs. Clifford (Mary) Fisher of Wooster, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold "Pat" Dempsey, in 1985, and brother, John Neidert, in 1970.
Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Seville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Philip N. Wilden will officiate.
Burial: Mound Hill Cemetery, Seville.

Delores C. Neimeyer (nee Kotch), 74, of Medina, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 23, 2001, at Evergreen Care Center in Medina.
She was born Sept. 1, 1926, in Cleveland and was a secretary for Eaton Corp.
Mrs. Neimeyer is survived by her husband, William Neimeyer, whom she married on Oct. 31, 1982; son, Glenn (Nancy) Sinclair of Seven Hills; daughters, Donna Sinclair of New Jersey and Suzanne (Jeffrey) Bramley of Medina; sister, Virginia McNamara of Cleveland; and many loving grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her previous husband, William Kelly, and sisters, Ruth Duns and Mary Dusek.

Melvin G. Shirey
Melvin G. Shirey, 79, formerly of Medina, died Saturday morning, March 24, 2001, at Altercare of Wadsworth.
He was born March 13, 1922, in Emlinton, Pa., to Grover and Mabel (Potts) Shirey and lived in Medina before moving to Rittman in 1981. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a detective on the Medina Police Department, retiring in 1975. He was a member of Medina Eagles.
Mr. Shirey is survived by his wife, Doris (Berlin); son, Eric (Patricia) Shirey of Sterling; stepsons, Bruce Wertz of Hereford, Ariz., and Thomas (Helen) Wertz of Rittman; daughter, Barbara (Dennis) Richardson of Huntsville, Ala.; stepdaughters, Dolores (Roy) Smith of Rittman and Bonita (Colon) Cranston of Wadsworth; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Carolyn M. Wandt, 90, of Medina, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Medina General Hospital.
She was born Oct. 2, 1910, in Cleveland and was a Medina County resident for 20 years. She was a member of Medina United Church of Christ, charter member of Forest Meadows Hummers and Drummers Kitchen Band and member of Pythian Sisters. Mrs. Wandt was employed as a medical secretary for Cleveland City Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Wandt; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Loretta Foose and Norman and Donna Foose, all of Brunswick, Donald and Carol Foose of Dominican Republic and Gene and Shirley Foose of Paso Robles, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law, Phylis and Norm Skuderin of Parma and Lois and Ron Schwachenwald of North Ridgeville; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Pennington, and first husband, Norman S.

Raymond E. Whitacre
Raymond E. Whitacre, 77, of Lodi, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Medina General Hospital.
He was born Oct. 25, 1923, in Shelbyville, Ind., to Roy and Anna (Baughman) Whitacre. He married Diane James on Feb. 15, 1986. He was a woodworker all his life. He was a member of First Congregational Church in Lodi and loved airplanes. He was a longtime supporter of the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Whitacre is survived by his children, Ilene Schweder of Arizona and Donald (Roberta) Whitacre of Lodi; stepsons, John (Abbie) Correll of West Salem and Jeffrey (Faye) Correll of Indiana; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Dale (Loretta) Whitacre of Norwalk and Fred Whitacre of Creston.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Donnie, and brothers, James, John and Claude.

Paul D. Wills, 80, of Medina, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at Medina General Hospital.
He was born in Peterstown, W.Va., and was a Medina County resident for 45 years. He was a member of Assembly of God Church in Medina and part of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Mr. Wills was a truck driver for Celanese Corp. of Rich Creek, Va. He was a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Wills (nee Thomas) of Medina; daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Ken Powell of Sandusky and Deborah and David Ostaff of Seville; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Susie Wills of Rich Creek; son, Randall Wills of Chippewa Lake; grandchildren, Scott, Truli, Joshua, Amber, Jennifer and Mindy; great-grandchild, Valerie; sisters, Ruby (William) Smith of Medina and Lois Long of Roanoke, Va.; and brother, Marvin "Monk" Wills of Lindside, W.Va.

Dale A. Bauman, 47, of Seville, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at his home.
He was born Oct. 27, 1953, in Wadsworth and lived in Rittman and Sterling before moving to Seville 10 years ago. He graduated from Norwayne High School in 1972 and from Marietta College, with a degree in accounting, in 1976. Mr. Bauman was employed at Automated Data Processing in Parma for the past seven years and formerly was employed at Sterling Farm Equipment.
He is survived by his parents, Richard D. and Gladys A. (Gasser) Bauman of Sterling; son, Jared at home; daughters, Mrs. Kurt (Kelly) Gasser of Sterling and Julie, Stacy and Tricia Bauman, all at home; brothers, Tom (Anita) Bauman and Dan (Janice) Bauman, all of Sterling, Ron (Barb) Bauman of Dayton and Brian (Dawn) Bauman of Seville; and sister, Mrs. Stan (Karen) Beery of Rittman.

Fate Fuson
Fate "Jake" Fuson, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 28, 2001.
He was born April 1, 1933, in Middlesbourgh, Ky., and was a Medina County resident for the past 33 years. Mr. Fuson was the owner of Fuson Heating and Air Conditioning Service. He enjoyed time with his family and RVing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gaynell; daughters, Kimberley Laurie of Wadsworth and Theresa Fuson of West Virginia; sons, James Underwood of Seville, Mitchell Fuson of West Salem, Christopher Fuson of Rittman and Gregory Fuson of Wadsworth; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Marjorie Newcomb of Alliance and Katherin Wilson of Salem.
He was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter; daughter, Elizabeth Ford; brothers, B.H. and Robert Fuson; and sister, Mary Ross.

John Stanko Jr., 89, of Medina, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Life Care Center of Medina in Valley City.
He was born June 3, 1911, in Cleveland and was a Medina County resident for 12 years. Mr. Stanko was retired from the General Electric Lamp Plant in East Cleveland.
He was the beloved husband of the late Anna; loving father of John (Alice) of Medina and the late Eleanor; grandfather of Letty Murphy, Marty (Alicia) and Greg Jasinski; great-grandfather of Megan; brother of the late Pauline Turis, Mary Silk and Susan Hrin; and a beloved member of his extended family at Life Care Center.

Betty L. Haueisen, 75, of Winter Haven, Fla., died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 17, 1925, to James May and Louise (Cassell). She was a resident of Cleveland and Medina, coming to Winter Haven in 1978. She was a former member of Rocky River Methodist Church and Westfield Country Club. She was a member of Cypresswood Country Club, Nine Hole Ladies League and Monday Afternoon Bridge Club in Cypresswood. She also volunteered at Medina General Hospital. Mrs. Haueisen was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Wilbur R. Haueisen of Winter Haven; daughters, Mary Bowman of Parma, Carol World of Wyoming, Ohio, and JoAnne Sorabella of Watertown, Mass.; sister, Marilyn Jackson of Winter Haven; and six grandchildren.

Richard Main, 68, of Hinckley Township, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at his residence.
He was born July 31, 1932, in Portsmouth, N.H., and was a Hinckley resident for 20 years, previously living in Cleveland. Mr. Main was employed as a heavy equipment operator for LTV Steel for 40 years, retiring in April 1995. He enjoyed fishing and Scripture reading.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Eileen "Peggy" (nee Maquire); mother, Florence Fiely of Titusville, Pa.; daughters, Florence (Jim) Thomas of Titusville and Deliliah (William) Swan of Union City, Pa., and Laura (Tito) Rivera of Cleveland; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Norma J. Shatzer
Norma Jean Shatzer, 70, of Wadsworth, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Barberton Citizens Hospital.
She was born Oct. 29, 1930, in Byrdstown, Tenn., to Leo and Clara Hassler. Mrs. Shatzer worked and retired from Kmart, previously known as Kresge, after 30 years of service. She was a member of Reimer Road Baptist Church of Wadsworth.
She is survived by her husband, Les Shatzer, whom she married in 1963; son, Roger (Melodie) Shatzer of Dallas, and grandchildren, Kelly Shatzer of Dallas and Kerry Shatzer of St. Louis.

James A. Titchenell
James Anderson Titchenell, 90, of Medina County, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Life Care Center of Medina in Valley City.
He was born April 22, 1910, in Bruston Mills, W.Va., and was a Medina County resident for 15 years. Mr. Titchenell was employed as a pipe fitter for 20 years at J & L Steel. He retired in 1975. He enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his son, Frank (Joanna) Titchenell of Brunswick; daughter, Susan (Jerry) Downey of Ashland; grandchildren, Crystal, Becky, Sam, Tito and Albert Titchenell, all of Brunswick, Missy Titchenell of Medina, Steve Titchenell of Columbus, Barbara Brooks of Strongsville, Debbie Adkins of Oklahoma and Charlie Downey and Jennifer Zimmerman, both of Parma; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Benjamin.
