Florence Bane, 86 ATWATER - Florence M. Bane, 86, died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at Community Care Center in Alliance. Born May 24, 1913, in Pine Grove, West Va., she was the daughter of Levi and Ruth (Stackpole) George. She lived in the area since 1971. Mrs. Bane was a homemaker. Survivors include a son, Robert (Penni) Bane, of Atwater; daughters, Mary (Charles) Russell, of Suffield, and Linda (Ralph) Dreher of Atwater; seven grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Campbell, of Macedon, N.Y. Her husband, Curtis, died in 1989; and an infant daughter, Christina Louise, died in 1951. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Cecil Harris officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park.

Dorothy Agler, 67 Services were held Friday at Bedford Church of the Nazarene for Dorothy Ann (Bowen) Agler, 67, who died Monday, May 1, 2000. Survivors include her husband, Michael, to whom she was married for 35 years; a son, Michael Phillip; daughters, Ruth Ann (John) Money and Esther Marie; one granddaughter; brothers, the Rev. Paul, John and Bill Bowen; and sisters, Margaret and Ruth Steckel, Mary Steigerwald and Lois Paul. A brother, Jim Bowen, died previously. Arrangements were handled by the Busch Family Chapel of Cleveland.

Eleanor Jobin, 84 Former Mantua resident Eleanor L. Jobin, 84, died Friday, May 5, 2000, at the Inland Valley Regional Medical Center in Murrieta, Calif. Arrangements are being handled by Green's Funeral Home in Mantua.

Alice Cameron, 69 GARRETTSVILLE - Alice A. Cameron, 69, died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at home of an apparent heart attack. Born Feb. 11, 1931 in Cleveland, she was the daughter of Ralph H. and Sarah E. (Hoggarth) White. A graduate of Euclid Senior High School, she had lived in Garrettsville for eight years. Mrs. Cameron had retired from Kenametal in Solon and also worked in area restaurants. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, knitting and square dancing with her husband. She was a member of the Clan Cameron. Survivors include her brother, Wayne R. (Sharon) White of Claridon Township; nephew, Mark A. (Kim) White of Stow; and niece, Wendy (Don) Wright of Richardson, Texas. Her husband, Neilan, died previously. There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Middlefield Cemetery on S.R. 87, Middlefield. Arrangements are being handled by the Russell Funeral Service in Middlefield.

Ruth Cooper, 79 Former Brimfield resident Ruth A. Cooper, 79, died Saturday, May 6, 2000. Born in Akron, she lived in Brimfield until entering a nursing home. Survivors include her son, Bill (Juanita) Gehm of North Lawrence; daughters, Jeannie (Jim) Rohaley and Pam (Roger) Hogan, both of Akron; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Jake (Marge) Simmons, Joe (Dora) Simmons and Howard (Joy) Simmons; and sisters, Mary Ingram and Marie Baric. Her husband, William G.; stepson, William G. Jr.; and brother, Walter A. Simmons, died previously. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Billow Funeral Home, Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road, Akron, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Tom Mroch officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Fairlawn.

Eleanor Jobin, 84 Services will be held Wednesday for Eleanor L. Jobin, 84, formerly of Portage County, who died Friday, May 5, 2000, at Inland Valley Regional Medical Center in Murrieta, Calif., following a period of ill health. Born April 15, 1916 in Canada, she was the daughter of Alexander and Gertrude (Randolph) Kellough. A longtime Ravenna resident, she had lived in Murrieta the past five years. A homemaker, for many years she was employed in the Portage County area at several restaurants. Survivors include her sons, Raymond (Donna) of Aurora and Robert (Barbara) of Lafayette, Colo.; daughter, Marilynn (Morris) Robinson of Murrieta; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and sister, Glenys Scott of Garrettsville. A sister, Muriel Geoffray, and a grandson died previously. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Green's Funeral Home in Mantua, with the Rev. Thomas Poremba officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua Township.

James Kirk, 90 Former Mantua resident James V. Kirk, 90, of Murrysville, Pa., died Saturday, May 6, 2000. Survivors include his son, James W. of Murrysville, Pa.; and two grandchildren. Grace E. Delin, 90 Grace E. Delin, 90, of Ravenna, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at her home. Born June 4, 1909 in Kent, she was the daughter of Harry and Anna (Eisele) Ward. She had lived in Ravenna for most of her life. Mrs. Delin was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of Ravenna. Survivors include her sons: David (Barbara) and Happy, both of Ravenna; daughter, Nancy (James) Bachtel of Ravenna; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and sister, Josephine Coleman of Kent. Her husband, Hallie F., who owned Hal's Floors in Ravenna, died Nov. 25, 1977. Her brother, Louis Ward; sisters, Agnes Keverkamp, Mary Christensen, and granddaughters, Terri and Nancy Bachtel, died previously. Katerine Root Warner, 90 A memorial service will be held Friday for Katherine Root Warner, 90, of Earl Avenue, Kent, who died Friday, April 7, 2000, at her home. Born June 20, 1909 in Medina, she was the daughter of Huber M. and Mabel (Knisely) Root. Mrs. Warner was retired in the mid-1960s as a librarian for the Akron Public Library. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Kent. Survivors include her son, Huber of Kensington, Md., daughter, Frances Ransone of Arnold, Md.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brother, David Root of Sebring, Fla. Her husband, Richard, died in 1983. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Christ Episcopal Church in Kent. Arrangements are being handled by Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent.

Born Aug. 7, 1906 in Somerset, Pa., she was the daughter of Harry and Effie Queer. Formerly of Ravenna, Randolph and Rootstown, she moved to Shalersville Township in 1983. Mrs. St. Clair retired as a teller from First National Bank (Bank One) in Ravenna. She attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ravenna. Survivors include her son-in-law, Gerald Dietrich of Rootstown; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and brother, William Queer of Somerset, Pa. Her husband, Theodore, and two brothers died previously. Her daughter, Alice Dietrich, died in 1989. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shorts Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel. The Rev. Judy Wozniak will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna. Wesley L. Nash, 50 Wesley L. Nash, 50, of Janet Drive, Kent, died Monday, May 8, 2000, at his home. Born Oct. 6, 1949 in Ravenna, he was the son of Kenneth K. and Dorothy D. (Shull) Nash. Mr. Nash worked for Dietrich Industries in Aurora. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Survivors include his brothers, Karl (Sue) of Cuyahoga Falls, and Harold (Pat) of Kent; sister Dawn (Bob) Hackney of Cuyahoga Falls; four nieces and three nephews. Donald L. Ward, 70 STREETSBORO - Donald L. Ward, 70, a member of the Streetsboro Planning Commission, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Louis Stokes Veterans Administration Center in Wade Park. Born Sept. 29, 1929 in Port Vue, Pa., he was the son of Robert and Ethel (Lamb) Ward. He was a resident of Streetsboro the past 42 years. Mr. Ward was a telemarketer. He was retired from Sharpe Electronics in Akron, and was a former vice president for Bates and Springer. He was a current member of the Streetsboro Planning Commission, was vice president of the Streetsboro Library Board and president of the Streetsboro High School Band Boosters. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was a former member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Betty J. (Nemec), to whom he was married 43 years; sons, James (Janice) of Cridersville and Gary of Kent; daughters, Karen (Randall) Thompson of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Laura (Mark) Shaffer of Ravenna; and two grandchildren. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Shorts Funeral Home, Streetsboro Chapel, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Bruce Sellers officiating. Buell Stringer, 89 Buell B. Stringer, 89, of Kent died Saturday, May 13, 2000, at Akron City Hospital. Born Oct. 31, 1910, in Kent, he was the son of John and Adelaide (Cunningham) Stringer. Mr. Stringer retired after 20 years from Kent State University as Superintendent of Maintenance and Buildings. He was a graduate of Kent High School, and attended Kent State University. He was a carpenter and painter, and enjoyed woodworking, camping and traveling. Survivors include his wife, Miriam (Starkey); son, Terry Stringer of Munroe Falls; daughters, Dianne Watts of Cortland and Cynthia Benson of Sheridan, Wyo.; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, William L. Stringer of Bradenton, Fla. A brother, Wesley, and grandson, Howard Lynn Clites, died previously. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Wednesday at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent with the Rev. Kay Dunlap officiating. Burial will be in Standing Rock Cemetery in Kent. Mae Clark, 88 SHALERSVILLE - Mae E. Clark, 88, formerly of Route 1, Beverly, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at her daughter's home in Shalersville. Born Nov. 1, 1911, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Melch) Havles. Mrs. Clark was a homemaker. She was a member of Ullman Street Church of Christ. Survivors include her sons, Melvin Clark of Beverly, John (Cindy) Clark of Windham and Jerry (Julie) Clark of Beverly; daughters, Margie (Louie) Gyulai of Brimfield, Naomi (Richard) Shuster of Stockport, Nancy (Dayton) Hickerson of Shalersville, Sheri (Dave) Treadway of Marietta, and Thelma (Richard) Eckert of Springdale, Ark.; 31 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Miller "Ed" Clark, whom she married May 17, 1941, died April 25, 1998. Her brother, Jimmy Havles, and sister, Florence Novak, also died previously. Ginger Sanford, 37 Ginger Sanford, 37, died May 12, 2000 in Southington. Born Sept. 7, 1962, in Weston W.Va., she was the daughter of Paul A. Sanford and Ginger C. Hall. Sanford. She formerly lived in Boardman. Ms Sanford worked as a cabinet maker at Kraft Maid for the past two years. She served in the U.S. Army and loved riding her motorcycle. She is survived by her father, Paul of Newton Falls; daughter, Josette Peterson of Asheboro, S.C.; sisters, Paulette Watkins of Windham, Diane Johnson of Sugar Grove and Valerie Sanford of Cortland; and brothers, Roger D. Sanford of Newton Falls and Douglas P. Sanford of Dixon, Calif. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at James Funeral Home in Newton Falls, where services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
