Milton Jones Albertson
DAYTON -- Milton Jones Albertson, 88, of Walnut Creek Nursing Center, formerly of Cuyahoga Falls, died Feb. 24, 1998.
He was born to the late William A. and Elizabeth Albertson in Millersburg, Ohio, and graduated from Kenmore High School. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls, American Federation of Musicians, Local 24, Akron Shrine Concert Band, Harold Nelson Orchestra, and a 50-year member of both Masonic Mt. Carbon Lodge in West Virginia and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Cleveland. He was an active musician and piano tuner and technician.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Helen (McCutcheon) Albertson; daughter, Virginia M. and son-in-law, Dr. Harvey M. Hanson, of Dayton; grandsons, Harvey M. Hanson Jr. of California and Douglas M. Hanson of Alaska.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel of Cuyahoga Falls First United Methodist Church on Monday, March 2, the Rev. Dr. Forrest J. Waller officiating. A brief visitation and greeting will be held prior to the service. Internment will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Joan W. Amoroso (nee Wuori), 86, passed away Feb. 24, 1998.
She was born in Jacksonville, Ohio, and lived most of her life in Mayfield Heights. She retired after 14 years of service as a secretary for Cleveland Metropolitan Opera.
She was the wife of the late Angelo Amoroso, and was also preceded in death by sisters, Helmi and Lillian; and brothers, Rauni and Onni. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Mary S. and Richard E. Boyce of Tallmadge; and grandchildren, Richard Jr. and Wendy.

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Mary I. Apostolides passed away February 24, 1998.
Born in McKeesport, Pa., she was an area resident for approximately 50 years and a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George, in 1979, and is survived by her sisters: Wilma Gardner of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Frances G. Ellsworth of Cuyahoga Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

Christopher Michael Bailey, 23, died Feb. 27, 1998.
Born in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Richfield for 14 years. He currently worked for Don Joseph Chevrolet as a salesman, and was a member of the Congregational Tabernacle. He loved music and played many instruments, including guitar, saxophone, drums, and piano.
He is survived by his parents, William and Virginia Bailey; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Roma Snuffer of Cleveland; brothers, Brian of Richfield and David of England; niece, CiAnna Snuffer; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Leona (Kerrigan) Barkalow, 91, died February 20, 1998.
She was born in Cambridge, Ohio, and was an area resident most of her life.

He was a U. S. Army veteran.

Orpha E. Barr, 89, of North Canton, died Thursday at St. Luke Lutheran Home, after an extended illness.
She was a former employee of Nick Anthe's and Green Gables restaurants.
She is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Robert (Leona) Stewart of Akron, Mrs. Lois Grim of Greentown, and Kay Barr Simms, with whom she made her home; son, Thurman Barr of Streetsboro; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Freda Sullivan of Buffalo, W. Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, in 1969.

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- John Basarab, 78, of Cuyahoga Falls, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998.
Mr. Basarab was born in Banning, Pa. on Jan. 26, 1919. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1941-1945, was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, and retired in 1984 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as a carpenter for 18 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elek and Anna Basarab; brother, George Basarab and sister, Anna Radford. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; son and daughter-in-law, David Sr. and Ann; grandchildren, David Jr. of Austin, Tex., Michael of Cleveland, Joshua of Cleveland and Christina of Bowling Green, Ohio; sister, Helen Fry of Houston, Tex.; and brother, Alex Basarab of Palm Bay, Fla.; nephew, Ronald (Dorothy) Basarab of Akron.

Ralph L. Benton, 88, passed away Feb. 19, 1998 in Akron.
He was born in Rachel, W. Va. on June 30, 1909. He was a member of the South Arlington United Methodist Church and a Goodyear retiree.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Katie Benton; brother, Frank Benton; and sister, Gertrude Poling, of California. He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine of Akron; daughter, Marilyn J. Sparko of Akron; son, Blaine L. (Nelia) Benton of Akron, and Charlotte Jane Insley of Hubbard, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Fred W. Berish of Munroe Falls, died of natural causes February 21, 1998.
He was a graduate of Garfield High School and served in the United States Navy for four years during World War II and was a longtime member of Loyalty Masonic Lodge.
In loving memory he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wanda; daughter, Lynn Brown and her husband, Doug; son, Ted Berish and his wife, Sandy and her son, Michael; granddaughters, Robyn Sauer and her husband, Bryan, and Chelsea Berish; grandson, Doug Brown; great-granddaughter, Madison Sauer; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Jim Bailey and their families.

David K. Bordonaro (Donofrio)
David K. Bordonaro (Donofrio), 40, passed away at his home peacefully to be with Jesus, on Feb. 19, 1998, after a longtime fight with diabetes.
David was born in Arnold, Pa., on Nov. 3, 1957, and was a longtime area resident.
He leaves loving mother and stepfather, Connie and Joe Donofrio; father and stepmother, Don and Leona Bordonaro; brothers, Don (Kim), Richard (Barbara), John (Ronda) Bordonaro; sister, Jodi (Michael) Tarrant; nephews, David, Matthew, and Michael; nieces, Tina and Sierra; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
David was loved by all those he touched in his lifetime. His biggest joys were his nieces and nephews, and reading his books. He will be sadly missed.

William O. Brenneman
William O. Brenneman, 80, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998.
Born Dec. 18, 1917, in Akron, he married Edna L. Barr on Nov. 21, 1940. Mr. Brenneman was inducted into the Army in 1941 and served in England, North Africa, Italy, Anzio, France, and Germany, where he earned seven Battle Stars and a battlefield commission as a second lieutenant. After his stretch overseas, he returned to the Akron-Canton area and continued to serve in the Armed Forces Reserve. He retired at the rank of major. Mr. Brenneman was the service manager for Friden Singer Manufacturing Co. and retired in 1973, becoming a permanent resident of Collier County.
He was a member and past president of the Reserve Officers Association, Marco/Naples Chapter, and a member of the Retired Officers Association. He was a member of the Collier County Republican Executive Committee and a longtime member of the Civil Air Patrol. Mr. Brenneman was also a member of the First United Methodist Church, volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Collier Harvest, as well as serving on several condo and association Boards.
He leaves his wife of 57 years, Edna, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by their son, William R. Brenneman of Troy, Mich.

Ethel Burdett, 84, of Akron, died Feb. 24, 1998, in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Born in Bedford County, Pa., she lived in Akron most of her life. She was a member of the Chapel. She served as a companion to elderly people for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Virgil L. Burdett. She is survived by son, Richard Burdett of Scappoose, Ore.; daughters, Shirley Spangler of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Martha (Jay) Stevans of LaMirada, Calif.; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul, James, John, and David Frazier, all of Pennsylvania; sisters, Lucille McCreary of Buffalo Mills, Pa., Ruth Frazier of Aspers, Pa., and Martha Holmes of Euless, Texas.

She was born in Woodsfield and lived in Rittman since 1949. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, John F.; sons, David (Lori) Burkhart of Rittman and Darrell Burkhart of Bluebell, Pa.; daughters, Karen Jordon of Rittman and Carol (Steven) Bozsik of Wadsworth; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brothers, Don Crum of Tallmadge and Clarence Crum of Woodsfield; and sister, Arlene Christman of Akron.

MELBOURNE, Fla. -- Kenneth LeRoy Butzer, 66, died Feb. 19, 1998, at the Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Fla.
He was born in Barberton and resided in Akron for 48 years, the last 18 years in Florida, residing seven years in Melbourne, Fla. He was a self-employed bricklayer, and was a Navy veteran during the Korean Conflict.
Preceded in death by parents, Walter and Gladys Butzer; son, Brian; and brother, Donald, he is survived by sons, Walter of Georgia and Wade of Arizona; daughter, Renee Bahosoun of Mims, Fla.; sisters, Norma Jean (Everett) Catlin of Barberton, Donna (Jerry) Dent of Akron, Jana (James) Hollingsworth of Doylestown; stepsisters, Deanna (Ray) Heintzelman of Navarre, Sandra (Bill) Bolyard and Linda Drummond, both of Akron; and stepbrother, Lee Andreas of Canton.
