Janet Y. Wagner, 60, of North Beal Drive, Brimfield, died Thursday at Akron General Medical Center.
She was born July 14, 1937, in Ellet to William and Hazel (Parker) Dent. She worked as a caregiver at Cuyahoga Falls Country Place and Anna Maria Nursing Home in Aurora. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Democratic Party of Portage County.
Survivors include her husband, Merlin Wagner; sons, Edward Gomez of Akron and Michael Wagner of Cuyahoga Falls; daughters, Yvonne (Donald) Phillips of Akron, Zoe (Dennis) Pasquale of Cleveland, Kimberly (Eric) Shaffer of Canal Fulton, and Wendy (Kirk) Nitzsche of Akron; seven grandchildren; mother, Hazel Dent of Kent; brother, Jerry (Donna) Dent of Kenmore; sister, Phyllis Pierce of Akron; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mattie Mae (Daniels) Wallace, 69, passed away Feb. 23, 1998, at the Hospice Care Center, after a long illness.
Born in Dothan, Ala., she lived in this community for 51 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and an excellent homemaker. She was a former member of Ebeneezer Apostolic Church, the Eastern Star, and Carnation Club.
Preceded in death by mother, Rossie Mae Curry; brothers, Wayman Curry, Robert Curry, Freeman Bivens; and daughter, Paula Kay, she is survived by sons, James Curry, Anthony Wallace, Dwayne Wallace, Donald Ray Wallace; daughters, Alexis Diane Wallace, Evangelist Anita (Willie) Wilkins, Wanda (Kevin) Robertson; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; adopted sister, Margaret Ellis; special friends, Bernice Moore, Irene Hargrove, and Cindy Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Born in Pennsylvania, she had lived the last 13 years in Ohio.
She was the wife of the late Joseph J.; loving mother of Robert of Cuyahoga Falls, Rita (Steve) Arendash of Munroe Falls, Patricia (John) Forrest of Kure Beach, N. C.; dear grandmother of Steven and Jerry Arendash, Lisa Baker, Karl, Stacey, Jack, Renee and Joseph Forrest, Kelly and Robert Wassil; great-grandmother of three.

Mary T. Weaver, 52, passed away Feb. 27, 1998.
Mrs. Weaver was born in Akron, raised in Suffield, and resided in Brimfield until recently moving to Carrollton. She was employed by Associated Estates for 14 years.

Rev. Harry E. West, 69, passed away at home in Canton on Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998.
He was an ordained United Methodist pastor and had served 10 churches in the East Ohio Conference until retirement in 1991.

Ester Marie Westfall, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 16, 1998.
Mrs. Westfall was born in Barberton on April 13, 1914. She was a loving homemaker, mother, and wife to her children and husband, and a faithful member of Goss Memorial Church in Kenmore.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Raymond. She is survived by her sons, Richard (Doris), Jerold (Nancy), and Russell E. (Joice); brother, Clyde L. Edwards of Alabama; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.

TALLMADGE -- Lois LaVerne Wilkerson (nee Allyn), 71, died Feb. 20, 1998, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Akron, she was a life resident of the area, and graduated from Kent State University in 1948.
Preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Allyn; son, Brent; and a twin daughter, Beverly; she is survived by her husband of 47 years, Lonnie; son, Mark (Cynthia); daughter, Pamela Hardesty; sisters, Eva Filhour of Phoenix, Ariz., and Carrie (Bill) Sawyer of Tyler, Texas; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Searle J. Williamson
S. J. ``Bill'' Williamson, 93, died Feb. 27, 1998.
Born in Philippi, W. Va., he had lived in Tallmadge for 55 years, and retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in 1968. Mr. Williamson had been an active and prolific gardener in his second career. It was always debatable whether his greatest joy was in tilling the soil and growing vegetables or in giving them to others. He was a member of Loyalty Lodge 645 F&AM since 1947.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years marriage, Donna; son and daughter-in-law, John and Marilynn of Canton; grandchildren, Megan Evans, Amanda and John B.; and great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Evans, all of Canton.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the Eckard-Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 E. Market St., with the Rev. Bryan George of the Church of the Lakes, Canton, officiating. George W. Wilson II
George W. Wilson II, 85, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998.
He was born in Moundsville, W. Va., and was an Akron area resident since 1926. He was the founder of Wilson & Williams Heating & Air Conditioning Co., Inc., which later became Ace Service & Installation Co. Mr. Wilson enjoyed bowling, fishing, card-playing, ballroom dancing, and all other sports as well. He was a member of the Colonial Lanes Senior Citizens Bowling Group.
Preceded in death by wife, Mary L., in 1982; and son, Rodney, in 1986, he is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Wes and Carol of Akron, and Webb and Becky of Green; daughter and son-in-law, Joan (Robinson) and Lee Kucera of Moreland Hills, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Connie (Jerry) Rospert of Norwalk, Ohio; sister, Frances Lloyd of New Hampshire; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and special friend of 14 years, Kathy Karshner, whom he met at the Art Kalmer Dance Studio.
Funeral services will be Monday, 11 a.m., at Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd., Pastor Donald Davies officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Peter Lindsey Wiseman
Rev. Peter Lindsey Wiseman, 90, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 26, 1998, at Copley Health Center, where he was a resident the last six months.
Rev. Wiseman was born in Irvine, Ky., on March 6, 1907, coming to Akron in 1925. Peter was ordained in 1942 through the Church of God of Anderson, Ind. He was the pastor of Wintergreen Ledges Church of God for 28 years and since had been pastor emeritus. He was a radio evangelist over WADC, WSLR, WHLO, WCUE, and WTOF. He was known as a hellfire and brimstone preacher and held revivals all over Ohio and Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his son, Darrell, and is survived by his wife of 70 years, Carrie; son, Dallas (Marian) Wiseman; daughters, Almaruth Zirkle and Eva Webster; daughter-in-law, Anna Lee Witt of Winchester, Ky.; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, 1998, at Wintergreen Ledges Church of God, 1889 Wooster Ave., Pastors Winston Pike and Jim Roma officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Beatrice M. Wolf (nee Rhoads)
Beatrice M. Wolf (nee Rhoads), 87, died Feb. 27, 1998. Mrs. Wolf was born in Cuyahoga Falls and had lived in Akron since 1938, moving there from Cuyahoga Falls. She retired as a secretary for the Palmer Match Co. She was a member of North Hill Christian Church, its Ruth Circle and Tuesday craft group, and was a member of North Hill Chapter 2249 AARP. Preceded in death by her husband, Walter, she is survived by cousins and brothers-in-law. Irene V. Wondra (Zaklan)
Irene V. Wondra, 67, of Fairlawn, died Feb. 25, 1998.
Mrs. Wondra was born in Akron, and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from East High School and Akron University. Irene had worked in Washington, D. C., for the Navy Department. Upon her return to Akron, she was secretary and registrar for the Goodyear Industrial University. For a number of years, she was employed at the Goodyear Atomic Office in Portsmouth, Ohio. Irene got her real estate license in 1967, and her broker license in 1983. She worked in property management development and building. Irene was past president of St. Mary's in Chillicothe, Ohio, and past president of the Goodyear Atomic Women's Club. She was a member of the Fairlawn Chamber of Commerce, St. Hilary Catholic Church, the 50+ Club, the Women's Board at Walsh Jesuit High School, Catholic Service League Auxiliary Board and past secretary, and a 30-year member of the Akron Board of Realtors.
Irene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Michael Starinki of Adrian, Mich.; son and daughter-in-law, Charles (Chuck) and Vanessa Wondra of Fairlawn; grandchildren, Melissa, Megan, Michael, and Elizabeth; sister, Mildred Batchlor of Tucker, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Nick and Barbara Zaklan of Uniontown; nieces and nephews.

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Edward C. Zimmerman, 75, of Cuyahoga Falls, died Feb. 16, 1998, at Akron City Hospital.
Eddie was a life resident of Cuyahoga Falls, and retired from the Atlantic Foundry in 1984 after 39 years of service. Eddie was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Cuyahoga Falls and, before that, St. Joseph Church. He was a veteran of World War II. His family was the most important thing in his life. He gave us wings to fly and a hand to hold on to.
