Martha Dalrymple (Gorga), 90, passed away March 10, 1998.
She was the beloved wife of the late William I. (Bill); dear mother of Carole Jarvis and Donna (Ray) Johnson; loving grandmother of Kym (Dale) Romp, Laura Johnson, and Kelli (Frank) Hilton; great-grandmother of Leo William Hilton; and sister of Mary Weaver of Dallas, Texas. She leaves many loving friends and family.

Dais Darvis
Mrs. Dais Darvis, 84, of 4349 Cherryhurst Dr., Stow, died Wednesday afternoon at Northside Hospital in Youngstown.
Mrs. Darvis was born Jan. 10, 1914, in Youngstown, a daughter of Cesare and Lena Elisio Amadio, and moved to the Akron area in 1948. Mrs. Darvis, along with her husband, owned and operated the Clausen Co. (appliance parts) in Akron for 32 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Grace Brethren Church in Bath, was very active in the Messianic Ministries, and was a 1931 graduate of Struthers High School.
Her husband, Zoltan (Bill) Darvis, whom she married in January 1944, died in May 1985. Also preceding her in death were sisters, Mrs. Gemma Wunsch and Mrs. Helen Pichitino. She leaves sister, Mrs. Georgia Norling of New Middletown; brothers, Tony Amadio of Austintown, Paul Amadio of Cuyahoga Falls, Thomas Amadio of Stow; and 11 nieces and nephews.

WADSWORTH -- Diane S. Davis (nee Rittenhouse), 51, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 9, 1998, at her residence.
Mrs. Davis was born in Wadsworth, where she was a lifelong resident. She was a Home Health Aide and a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church. She enjoyed the outdoors and animals, and taking her grandchildren fishing.
A loving mother, grandmother, and daughter, Mrs. Davis is survived by daughter, Shannon (Mrs. Brian) Miller of Wadsworth; grandchildren, Jacob and Jessica; mother, Doris (Mrs. Sam) Trent of Phoenix, Ariz., and Wadsworth; dear friend, Dennis McFarland of Wadsworth. She was preceded in death by father, Thomas Rittenhouse.

Sophie M. Dawson, 87, of Akron, died March 12, 1998, at the Akron General Medical Center.
Sophie was a life resident of Akron and retired from the Akron Public Schools after 30 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dick Dixon; her second husband, Herbert Dawson; and her sister, Sadie Burroughs. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Mary Beims of Mt. Dora, Fla.; sister, Gracemae Rudgers of Akron; nieces and nephews, Bill and Jim Beims, Nancy Jordan, Jim Rudgers and Dick Rudgers; many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

TWINSBURG -- Alexander J. ``Lex'' Day, 98, of New Concord, Ohio, formerly of Twinsburg, died Sunday in New Concord.
Mr. Day was the first mayor of Twinsburg, being elected March 1, 1955, and later served as city manager and member of council.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Mae (nee Twerell); and his son, Glenn, and is survived by his son, Lawrence L. (Elaine) Day of New Concord; sister, Isabelle Day of Cleveland; grandchildren, Dr. Linda Morrow, Barbara Cunningham, and Gary Day; and eight great-grandchildren.

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Mapel Jean DeHart, 87, died March 2, 1998.
Mrs. DeHart was born in Normantown, W. Va., and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls since 1943, moving there from West Virginia. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and Rebekah Lodge O.E.S. in Normantown.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jack Lewis of Cuyahoga Falls; son and daughter-in-law, C. W. and Candy Roe of Hudson; grandchildren, Sandy Kline, Susan White, Jack Lewis, Debbie Lothes, Denise Schultz, Sherrie Gualdoni, and Pamela Herzberg; and 12 great-grandchildren.

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Marc Louis Deighton, 21, passed away March 5, 1998, after a year-long struggle.
Born in Cleveland, he was a Falls resident for 10 years, and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Marc was a student at Walsh University in North Canton and was involved in many activities.
Preceded in death by grandparents, Louis Zingale and Robert Preston, he is survived by parents, Thomas and Virginia; brother, Eric, all of Cuyahoga Falls; fiancee, Lisa Flanagan of Brimfield; grandparents, Jane Zingale of Westlake, Marie Preston of Parma, Joseph and Barbara Deighton of Strongsville; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

GREEN -- Lubie DeWalt, 76, passed away March 2, 1998.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was a life resident of the Akron area, and was employed by Monarch Manufacturing.
Preceded in death by her husband, Richard; and son, Edward, she is survived by son, Richard of Green; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and four sisters.

Robert E. ``Bob'' Dill
MISSOURI -- Robert E. ``Bob'' Dill, 66, of St. Charles, Mo., passed away Feb. 28, 1998.
He had worked as a lawn equipment sales representative with Troy Bilt for eight years. He was a member of Church of Church of the Shepherd, Masonic Council Star Lodge of Cuyahoga Falls, and Grotto in Akron. Prior to moving to St. Charles, Mr. Dill was employed by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Akron.
He was preceded in death by mother, Louise Dill (nee Nebergall). Survivors include his wife, Dorothy M. (nee Hanson); father, Eugene Dill; daughters, Linda Louise (Gregory) Sahl and Terri Ann Dill, all of St. Charles, Mo.; son, Gary E. (Paula) Dill of St. Peters, Mo.; and eight grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 1998, at the United Methodist Church, 4116 McClay Rd., St. Charles, Mo. Herbert Dix passed away March 13, 1998 at his residence after a short illness.
Born in Midway, Alabama and had lived most of his life in the Akron/Cleveland Area. He had been employed at Thistle Down Race Track for 28 years. He was a former member of P.H.A. Masonic Order.
He is survived by loving and devoted wife, Dora Dix; sons, Herbert Dix Jr. of Cleveland, Claude Dix of Houston, Tex., Jeffrey Dix of Cleveland, and David Dix; sisters, Rosie Davis, and Ethel Greene; sisters-in-law, Ella Dix and Gussie Woodward; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Evelyn B. Dornecker
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Evelyn B. Dornecker, 101, passed away March 12, 1998.
Mrs. Dornecker was born in Coshocton, was a resident of Cuyahoga Falls, and a longtime resident of Pittsburgh. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Nana was a beautiful example of love for her family. She enjoyed gardening, bridge, piano playing, and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates baseball fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John L.; and daughter, Joanne Lingdon, and is survived by her daughters, Phoebe Dixon of Winter Park, Fla., and Mary Voltz of Pittsburgh, Pa.; daughter and son-in-law, Dolores and Don Smith of Stow; 18 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

MEDINA -- Catherine J. Doshak (nee Mackovic), 83, died March 9, 1998, at Medina General Hospital.
She was born in Middletown, Ohio and was a life resident of Barberton. Catherine was retired from the First National Bank, and was a member of S.S. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Barberton and also St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Medina; also, St. Anne's Society, Slovak Catholic Sokols, Rosary Society, and Cenacle Prayer Group.
She was preceded in death by husband, John. She is survived by son, John M. of Green; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne and Ray Wiley, and Kathleen and Dave Schmidt, all of Medina; grandchildren, John, Matt, Tom, and Jennifer; numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Gertrude L. Dow, 79, of Wadsworth, died Sunday, March 15, 1998 at the Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital.
She was born April 19, 1918 in Alliance, Ohio, to Otto and Ida Pearson. She married Gerald Dow in April 1963. She had been employed by the WFAH Radio Station in Alliance, retiring in 1963.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald; daughter, Susan Simpson of El Paso, Texas; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

She was born Jan. 25, 1917, in Duquesne, Pa. She lived in the Pittsburgh area from 1943 to 1990, and then moved to Hudson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alden and Harriet Cummins. She is survived by her husband, Richard Downing; son, Robert (Janet) Downing of Woodlands, Texas; daughter, Nancy Jane Ibarra of Toledo; sister, Louise Dye of Hudson; and five grandchildren.

Robert R. Duncan Jr., 61, passed away March 11, 1998, at his residence.
He was born in Johnson City, Tenn., and had lived most of his life in the Akron area. Mr. Duncan was a member of Victory Chapel and Carpenters Union Local 639 for 35 years.

She was born in Charleston, W. Va., was a resident of Doylestown and Rittman, and was formerly of Barberton.

Kenneth L. Dustin
SHARON TWP. -- Kenneth L. Dustin, 71, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, at the Hospice Care Center, after a six-month illness.
Born in Copley, Mr. Dustin resided in Sharon Township most of his life. He was a U. S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II, and employed at Consolidated Freightways for 25 years. He was a member of Mt. Zwingli United Church of Christ and Loyal Oak V.F.W.
Mr. Dustin is survived by wife, Virginia; sons and daughters, Thomas of Chippewa Lake, Perry (Nancy), Patricia (Lanny) Mostoller, Cathy (Stanley) Prokorot, all of Sharon Township, Wanda Caple of St. Petersburg, Fla., Connie (Jose) Echevarria of Worthington, Pamela (Darby) Kazura, Terri Caple, Darrell (Amy) Caple, David (Lori) Caple, all of Naples, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; sisters, Leah Selzer and Doris Ellebruch, both of Copley, Emily Schmid of Medina, Nancy Dustin of Sharon Township; and brother, Charles of Portage Lakes.

Arthur J. Dzuro, 86, of Copley, died March 10 at Windsong Care Center.
Art was a life resident of the Copley area, and the former owner of Dzuro Greenhouse on White Pond Drive.
