Margaret M. Eberhardt
Margaret M. Eberhardt, 84, died suddenly March 14, 1998.
Margaret was born July 14, 1913, in Edinburgh, Scotland. She arrived in America with her father in 1924 and was later joined by her mother and sisters. She lived the rest of her life in the Akron and Cuyahoga Falls area. Margaret retired as the Traffic Manager of Ohio Bell Telephone Company, Kent Office, after 36 years of service. As an active member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, she was instrumental in establishing the Akron Chapter of the Life Member Association of the Pioneers of America. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Order of the Scottish Clan, Falls Chapter No. 245 O.E.S., and a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Akron.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred ``Fritz'' Eberhardt. She is survived by her son, John Eberhardt of Akron; daughter, Donna King of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Colina Wells of Akron, Anna Hyle of Elyria, and Catherine Rocha of Akron; numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends and co-workers.

Mary Arfaras Economou
Mary Arfaras Economou departed this life at home surrounded by her loving husband John and cherished daughters, Elena and Johnna, on March 15, 1998.
Mary was born in Akron, Ohio and was a life-long resident of this community. She was preceded in death by her father, John Spiros Arfaras. She is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Elena and Johnna; her beloved mother, Helen Arfaras; loving sister, Ann Arfaras; and dear brother, Sam (Joan) Arfaras. She also leaves many cousins, nieces, and nephews here in the United States and also in Greece.
Mary graduated from East High School and The University of Akron with a degree in elementary education. Mary taught the third grade at Robinson Elementary School which she attended in her childhood. Mary was a lifelong member of the Hellenic community and the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where she helped Father George Bartz start Sunday School. Mary was a member of the Daughters of Penelope, an American-Greek women's auxiliary of the Order of AHEPA. She was also a very active member of the former RotaryAnns of the Rotary Club of Akron. She participated in fund-raising for Children's Hospital and the Children's Hospital Tree Festival. Mary was also a former member of Fairlawn Garden Club. Mary was an active member of the Stan Hywet Curatorial Committee. She was Chairwoman of Stan Hywet Ohio Mart ``Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe.'' She was a former member of Stan Hywet Needle Work Guild. Mary also enjoyed working with her husband, John, who is the President of The Pearl Coffee Company, founded in 1919 by the
Economou family in Akron, Ohio. She and her daughter Johnna were active with the gourmet coffee gifts and baskets. Mary enjoyed her annual summer vacations with her family to Southampton, Long Island New York. This strong, independent woman touched many lives with her unselfish kindness and sacrifices not only to her family but to many others in this community.
Service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, with Rev. Fr. Jerry Hall and Very Rev. Fr. George N. Bartz officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Hazel Virginia Egbert was born July 10, 1910, and passed away March 1, 1998, at the age of 87.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen N. Egbert, and is survived by her son, Richard O. Egbert and daughter-in-law, Patsy A. Egbert, of Madison, Ala.; grandchildren, Pamela Egbert of Dallas, Texas, Kimberly and Earl Donley of Columbus, Richard N. Egbert of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Helen Van Kannel and family of Blissfield, Ohio.

Madeline Eichelberger, 84, died March 1, 1998.
She was born in Akron and was a life resident of the area. She had retired from the personnel and public relations department of Barberton Citizens Hospital.

BATH -- Gene H. Elrod, 82, passed away March 1, 1998, at Akron General Hospital.
He was born Sept. 26, 1915, in Epworth, Ga. He graduated from Tallmadge High School, was a retired truck driver and a member of the Retired Teamster Fellowship Club and the Bath Grange.
Survivor include his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Elrod; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Gail Elrod, Raymond and Michelle Elrod; sister, Bernice Barton; grandchildren, Lisa Elrod, Robert Elrod Jr., John Elrod; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth.

Ruby Mary Eneix-Mollica
Ruby Mary Eneix-Mollica, 80, of Tallmadge, went to join her husband of 61 years, George James, who died Aug. 23, 1997; and son, James Dixon, who died Dec. 15, 1989, after a short illness.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Alice (Ellis) and James Monroe; brothers, Clarence, James, and Jesse, and sister, Frances Yoder. Mrs. Mollica is survived by her daughter, Georgetta Geasley; grandson, Chris Geasley; great-grandson, Cody; great-niece and husband, Barbara and James Woolweaver; lifelong friend, Mary Louise Cole; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lester and Betty Bucy and Anthony and Josephine Mollica; sister-in-law, Theresa (Joseph) Mollica. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.

TALLMADGE -- William Otis Enix, 79, went home to be with the Lord February 28, 1998.
Born in Jellico, Tenn., he had lived in the area 56 years and in Tallmadge for the past 30 years. He retired from Chrysler-Twinsburg in 1984 and was a member of Chapel of Prayer Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir. Mr. Enix was an avid fisherman, hunter, and traveler.
Preceded in death by brothers, Ancil and Curnis, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruby; daughters, Rose Yoxthimer of Munroe Falls, Betty Bush of Brimfield, Ritha Cottrell of Edinburg; sons, Dale of Uniontown, Charles of Lawton, Okla.; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margie Jones and Faye Fugate, both of Dayton, Evelyn Batt of Denver, Colo.; brothers, Efford and Vernon, both of Dayton, and Adron of Florida.

Rita Mae Estes (nee Roeger)
Rita Mae Estes, born August 2, 1909, passed on to her eternal reward early March 7, 1998, at Gaslite Villa, Canal Fulton, where she had been a resident for several years.
Rita lived most of her life in Akron. After graduation from East High School in 1927, she attended business school and was employed by American Hard Rubber for several years. In 1931, she married John Wess Estes and became a homemaker devoted to the welfare of her family. Formerly a member of East Market Street Evangelical & Reformed Church, Rita was active in the Women's Guild and Sunday School. In later years, she became a member of First Congregational Church of Akron. Until her health and eyesight failed, she also enjoyed attending services at The Chapel. She was active in scouting activities in the area and often served as a poll worker during elections. She was an excellent cook and often shared her baked goods, etc., with friends and neighbors. A quiet, gentle soul, she was always remembering others with cards and notes.
She was preceded in death by parents, George and Anna Brubaker Roeger; husband, John, in 1969; sisters, Mirla Dawn Peterman and Georgeanna Roeger; son, Glenn E. Estes, in 1996; and grandson, Joel Thomas Finna, in 1997. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Dorothe (Jesse) Finna of Canal Fulton and Nancie (Dennis) Lively of Phoenix; daughter-in-law, Bette Sexton Estes of Knoxville; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and her devoted friend of many years, Laura Massic.

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Dorothy M. Farr (nee Patrick), 75, went home to be with the Lord on March 13, 1998, after a 10-year battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by parents, Travis and Florence Patrick; and infant son, Timothy Farr. Mrs. Farr was born in Barberton and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls since 1959. She retired from First National Bank in 1988.
She is survived by children, Craig Farr of Florida; dedicated daughter, Susan Herron Stump and husband, Bobby; dedicated son and devoted daughter-in-law, Chris A. and Dedra Farr, with whom she resided. She also leaves grandchildren, Sean Montanye (Jennifer), Sabrina Kukene (Adam), and Michelle Farr of Florida, Jason and Joshua Herron of Cuyahoga Falls; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Matthew Montanye, also of Florida; and beloved niece, Linda Gail Pownell of North Canton. Earl R. Fessenden
Earl R. Fessenden, 51, of 7440 Briarcliff Parkway, Middleburg Heights, Ohio, died March 16, 1998, at Cleveland-Deaconess Hospital.
Born June 12, 1946 in Akron, he lived 26 years in Middleburg Heights, previously of Akron. He received his BA, MA, and also did doctoral work at Akron University. He was employed for 30 years at Brunswick High School, in all aspects of English study and eight years at Tri-C in English study. He was a member of the Ohio Education Association, National Education Association, and Brunswick Education Association. He performed in Brunswick faculty play productions, was advisor for 25 years for Academic Challenge teams, advisor M.U.S.E. Literary and Poetry Journal, and advisor for Advance Placement Play. He enjoyed fishing, rock 'n roll trivia, Browns, Indians, card playing and horror movies; master of wit.
He is survived by his wife, Gail J. (nee Stuehr) whom he married July 13, 1990, of Middleburg Heights; stepsons, Tony Bester of Parma and Jeff Bester of Valley View; grandchild, Sarah Bester.

He is survived by wife of 61 years, Katherine M. BARBERTON -- Raymond Edward Flickinger Sr., 87, died March 30, 1998, at Pleasant View Health Care Center.
He was born in Barberton, where he was a life resident. He was the finance director for the City of Barberton for 32 years, retiring 18 years ago. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, American Legion Post 271, and a World War II Army veteran.

Bernard ``Bud'' Folb, 85, died Sunday, March 1, 1998.
Born in Elgin, Ill., he lived in Akron since he was a small child. He graduated from West High School, and worked in the accounting departments for Giant Auto for 25 years, Sacks Electric Co. for 10 years, and Sterling for 10 years. He was a member of Temple Israel, where he was a past president of its Brotherhood, and was also a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity.
Mr. Folb was the beloved husband for 58 years of Miriam; devoted father and father-in-law of Jeffrey and Hillary of Tallmadge, Ohio, Rabbi Howard and Ann of Winchester, Va.; anb dearest grandfather of Leah and Josh.
Service will be held at Temple Israel, 133 Merriman Rd., Tuesday, March 3, 1998 at 11 a.m., Rabbi David Horowitz officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery. Rabbi Howard M. Folb
Rabbi Howard M. Folb, 54, died Wednesday, March 4, 1998.
He was born in Akron, was a graduate of Buchtel High School and the University of Cincinnati, earning two bachelor's degrees with honors, M.A.H.L., and an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from the Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati. He was currently rabbi of Beth El Congregation in Winchester, Va., for the past five years, and formerly in Florence, S. C., southern Illinois, and Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Rabbi Folb was the beloved husband for 32 years of Ann; devoted father of Joshua Isaac and Leah Deborah; dear son of Miriam Folb and the late Bernard ``Bud'' Folb; and is also survived by brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Hillary Folb; and mother-in-law, Elinore Learner.
Service will be held at Temple Israel (133 Merriman Rd.) on Friday, March 6, 1998 at 11 a.m., Rabbi David Horowitz officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery. Tully V. Foster
Tully V. Foster, 84, of Canton, passed away Saturday night due to a series of strokes.
Born in Abruzzi, Italy, on January 3, 1914, to the late Anthony and Mary Fosterini, he came to the United States at the age of 6 and graduated from Ohio State University in 1938 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In 1940, he married Mary Markusic, and together they studied voice at Dana School of Music in Youngstown. He recorded several ballads. In 1942, Tully and Mary started the Club Casablanca which brought name entertainment to the Canton area. Fifteen years later, the Club Casablanca was transformed into the Town and Country Buffet and Restaurant, the first buffet in the area. They both retired from the Town and Country Buffet and Restaurant in 1987. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, the Restaurant Association, Massillon Lodge 441 B.P.O.E., and was a founding member of Prestwick Country Club.
Preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Carter of Boardman, Ohio, survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary of the home; one brother, Harry Ritchey of Boardman, Ohio; four nieces, Angela Jerse of Canton, Marylin Manes of Boardman, Linda Cucitrone of Boardman, and Ruth Ritchey of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one great-niece and one great-nephew, Gina and Anthony Cucitrone; two sisters-in-law, Ann Harper of Spokane, Wash., and Jean Gurley of Florida, and their children, Jean Smith, Tom Gurley, Libby Harper and Cynthia Onuffer, and her sons, Jeff and Greg.
