Agnes E. Lammlein, 82, died early Saturday, Feb. 28, 1998, with all of her family present at Akron City Hospital. Dorothea V. Lampe
Dorothea V. Lampe, 83, passed away March 9, 1998, after a long illness. Born in Akron, she was a resident of Portage County for many years. Mrs. Lampe was a homemaker, and a member of Brimfield United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, in 1994, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sharon R. and Harold Ritterbeck of Ellet; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Barbara of Manchester; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and brother, Serge Cook of Lakemore. TENNESSEE -- Gary Clyde Lane, 48, of Kingston, passed away suddenly Friday, Feb. 27, 1998, at his home. Gary was a former employee of Northrop Aerospace. Preceded in death by wife, Ruth Lane; father, Gene Clyde Lane; grandparents, Artie and Ruby Lane, and Maude Brown, survivors include his daughters, Rachel of California and Stacy of Akron; four grandchildren; mother, Gladys Brown Lane Morelock of Akron; sisters, Brenda Pasten of Kingston, Betty Morelock of Greeneville; brothers, Reno Curtis Lane of Kingston; grandfather, Bert Brown of Kingston; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service 2 p.m Tuesday at Click Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. George Seay officiating. Interment at Poplar Springs Cemetery. Richard H. ``Dick'' Lantz
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Richard H. ``Dick'' Lantz, 55, passed away March 12, 1998. He was born Aug. 1, 1942, in Akron. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Jatich. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Lantz; sons, Richard (Mary Ellen) Lantz of Canton, Chris (Shannon) Lantz of Cuyahoga Falls; daughters, Stacie English of Stow, and Jennifer and Tim Lewis of Munroe Falls; parents, Hugh and Mabel Lantz of Akron; sisters, JoAnn (Joe) Schueller of Akron and Cathy (Andy) Shimberg of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Alicia and Hunter; aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 1998, at the Lakeview Church of Christ (4613 S. Main St.) Jim Gindlesberger will conduct services. Helen K. LaRose
Helen K. LaRose, age 81, of Akron, died Sunday. She was born Nov. 28, 1916, in Akron, the daughter of Samuel and Abbie (McLaughlin) Steffee. Mrs. LaRose had worked as a nursing assistant. She was a life member of the Lutheran Woman's Guild and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Ravenna. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Thomas; daughter and son-in-law, Abbie C. and Joseph Gungle of Atwater; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey L. and Brenda LaRose of Birmingham, Ala.; grandchildren, Mrs. Larry (Toni) Lawrence of Brimfield, Jessica LaRose and Mrs. Jeff (Jamie) Trammell, all of Alabama; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Nathaniel Spencer and Savannah Trammell; sister, Ruth Knecht; and sisters-in-law, Frances Scott and Josephine LaRose. She was preceded in death by brother, Merle Steffee and sister, Dorothy Myers. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Kent Chapel, with Rev. Alaysha Lynette Larry went to sleep in the arms of the Lord on March 11, 1998, at the precious age of seven weeks. Fay Lear
Fay Lear, 92, passed away on March 16, 1998. She retired from Bell Telephone. She is preceded in death by mother, Grace Hefflefinger and Sheldon E. Lear. Survived by many nieces, nephews and relatives. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 19, at 10 A.M. at the Cox Funeral Home, (222 Norton Ave.). James W. LeBarre (Jim)
James W. LeBarre (Jim), loving husband, father, grandpa, went to meet his Lord on March 12, 1998. Jim was the anchor to his family and a rock for many others, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Jim was born Oct. 12, 1935, in Akron. He worked for over 30 years at Manchester Tool. He was employed at Akron Steel Fabricators. He was preceded in death by children, Kitty Renee and Vincent Shawn; and parents, and seven brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Norma; daughters, Dianna Tucker, Cheryl LeBarre; son, James (Peggy) LeBarre; granchildren, Carle and Holly Tucker, Shauna Barr, Joshua, Matthew, and Jessica LeBarre; sisters, Doris (Richard) Snyder, Pat Watson, Dorthy (Tim) Haines; brothers Derrill, Donald, and Frank LeBarre, and a multitude of loving family and friends. GRANGER TWP. -- Joyce E. Lehnhardt (nee Travagliante), 50, of Granger Township, died March 26, 1998, at her residence. Born in Cleveland, she was a self-employed artist. Preceded in death by her father, Sam, she is survived by her husband, Douglas of Granger Township, whom she married July 13, 1973; son and daughter-in-law, Kurt (Tina) Nerva of Detroit, Mich.; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene (Craig) Colbert of Cincinnati; daughter, Michelle Lehnhardt of Granger; mother, Stella Travagliante of Independence; brothers, Blase Manzo of Solon and David Travagliante of Independence; grandchildren, Joseph, Shana, Zachary, Luke, and Sam. James M. Lentsch, 50, died March 9, 1998, at Akron City Hospital. Born in Akron, he was a lifetime area resident. Jim was a member of Annunication Catholic Church. He was a warehouseman for Akron Storage and Warehouse, and also worked for Costigan's. Jim was a U. S. Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ardis Lentsch. Survivors include his wife, Laurie; mother, Edith Lentsch; brothers, Jack, Phil, Terry, Rick, Matt, Rod, Rick, Ray, and Randy; sisters, Jill, Jean, Lynn, Ann, Rhonda, and Renee; a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews. Daisy M. Lewis
Daisy M. Lewis, 68, of Coventry Township, died March 21, 1998, after a long illness. She was born in Adolph, W. Va., and lived in the Akron area since 1955. She had worked at the Firestone Park Dental Lab for 17 years. Ms. Lewis was preceded in death by grandson, Bryan Nowak; brothers, Orvil, Philmore, Virgil, Arnold, Thurman, and Chester; sisters, Ruby Lambert, Bessie Lambert, Clarcy Garrison. She is survived by loving and devoted husband of 42 years, Glen E.; daughter, Christine (Richard) Nowak of Clinton; granddaughter, Kimberly Nowak; mother-in-law, Juanita Lewis; and many other relatives and friends. Sarah Liddle, age 12, passed away March 14, 1998. Sarah was born in Akron on May 8, 1985. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and a student at Manchester Middle School. She is survived by her parents, Robert and Darreleen Liddle; brother, William Liddle; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and William Ferguson; grandparents, John and Bernice Liddle and Darrel and Louise Dodd; and niece, Monica. Sandra J. (Baum) Lintner
Sandra J. (Baum) Lintner, 22, passed away March 11, 1998, after a long battle with cystic fibrosis. Anna Lischak
Anna Lischak, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 15, Born in Sheffield, Pa., Miss Lischak has been a resident of south Akron since 1925. In 1976 she retired from Firestone after 33 years of service. She was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Church. Preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Mary; her sister, Pauline Vujanov; brothers, Michael, John and George; she is survived by sister, Mary Gray of Akron; nephews and nieces, Janet Baird, Bernard, Delbert and Sandra Gray, John, Tom, and Robert Lischak, Marianne Steurer, Michael, John, and Dennis Lischak; many great nephews and great nieces. John J. Lisic
John J. Lisic, 84, died Wednesday, March 11, 1998. He was born in Midland, Pa., and was a contractor in the Akron area. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post 8975, where he was the first Commander. He was also the V.F.W. State Poppy Chairman of Ohio for 13 years, and was a volunteer for the All-American Soap Box Derby. He is survived by wife, Anne of Akron; sons, John E. (Noelline) of Atlanta, Georgia and James E. (Catherine) of North Fort Myers, Florida; daughter, Fran (Bud) Seabeck of Suffield; grandchildren, Natalie Lisic-Jackson (Dennis), John M. Lisic, Robert J. (Debbie) Lisic, Heather Seabeck, and Angie Seabeck; and great-grandson, Jacob Lisic. Funeral services will be held TODAY, 2 p.m., at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd., Fr. Irene Little, 94, passed away March 2, 1998, at Valley View Nursing Home. Born in Aragon, Ga., she lived in this community 77 years. She had been employed as a conveyor line worker for Akron Industrial Salvage, last working in 1955. She is survived by son, Sanders R. She was employed as a file clerk for Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority, last working in 1998. She was preceded in death by father, Emerson Peoples; brother, James Peoples. She is survived by son, Robert M. Lontchar of Akron; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Daniel Lane of Tallmadge; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Dewey Davidson of Tallmadge; son, Roy T. Mary T. Lower
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Mary T. Lower, 81, of Cuyahoga Falls, died Feb. 26, 1998. Mrs. Lower was born in Centerport, N. Y., on Sept. 6, 1916, and lived in Weedsport, N. Y., for 50 years, Canal Fulton for 10 years, Wilmington, N. C., for 17 years, and in Cuyahoga Falls since 1995. While in Canal Fulton, she was a Eucharistic minister. Preceded in death by her husband, John J. Lower, she is survived by her daughters, Mary K. Lower of Cuyahoga Falls and Peggy (Steve) Yellen of Ft. Mill, S. C.; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 7, 1998, at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Helen M. Lutz, 94, died Feb. 27, 1998. Mrs. Lutz was born in Stormstown, Pa., was formerly of Akron, and had lived in Cuyahoga Falls since 1942. She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 19, was a member of the Fortnightly Study Club of Cuyahoga Falls, was a volunteer at Stan Hywet and St. Thomas Hospital, and had been one of the organizers of Trinity Day Center. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Preceded in death by husband, Raymond G., she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. and Marie A. of Cuyahoga Falls; granddaughters, Becky S. Lutz of Pittsburgh, Lindy M. Lutz of Lakewood; sisters, Nellie B. Ward of Cuyahoga Falls and Edna M. Kremer of North Carolina. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
