BARBERTON -- Robert B. Daiger, 65, died March 18, 1998.
He was a life resident of Clinton and Barberton.
Preceded in death by parents, John and Lottie; brothers, John Jr. and Merle; and son, Edward John, he is survived by wife, Donna; son, John (Tarri) of Akron; daughter, Cheryl (Steven) Moss of Barberton; brothers, Clifford (Estelle), Gene (Ruby); sisters, Emijean (Richard) Lego, Carol (Harold) Lesher; grandchildren, Joshua and Sheena; and numerous nieces and nephews.

William G. ``Jerry'' Davis
William G. ``Jerry'' Davis, age 84, of Bonita Springs, Fla., died March 6.
Born October 7, 1913, in Trumbull County, he was the son of Harry and Ruby (Kelly) Davis. He was formerly of the Portage County area. Mr. Davis had worked at the Ravenna Arsenal and was a volunteer fireman for Paris Township.
Survivors include sons, Robert (Mary Jane) of Atwater and Donald (Kay) of Edinburg; daughters, Nancy Aebi of Alliance and Judy Carlile of Lexington Twp.; two stepdaughters; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; companion, Bernadette Munroe of Bonita Springs, Fla. He was preceded in death by wife, Virginia; son, Gerald; and two brothers.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Wood-Kortright Funeral Home, Atwater Chapel, with Mark Lattimer officiating. Burial has taken place at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg. Donations may be made to a fire department of one's choice. (Wood-Kortright, Atwater, 325-1041.)

Mae V. Demchyna (nee Dyspolski)
Mae V. Demchyna (nee Dyspolski), was born July 28, 1915, and died March 25, 1998.
Mrs. Demchyna was born in Bartlesville, Okla., and lived in Detroit, Mich., until 1958, moving to the Stow-Cuyahoga Falls area. She served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a sergeant. Mae joined the W.A.A.C. in 1943 and then was sworn into the Regular Army in 1945, and discharged in 1946. She was a member of the Moose, Polish American Chapter 32, W.A.C. Chapter 42, the American Legion Post 281, and St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by four brothers, John, Walter, Theodore, and one brother who died in Poland; sisters, Wanda Reel, Victoria Elkins, Lottie Gushel; and her husband, Walter, in 1963, she is survived by daughter, Marilyn (Lynn) Welker; grandchildren, Erin (Warren), Lisa (Bill), and Alan; great-granddaughter, Nikki; sisters, Dorothy Kniaz, Joan Vukovich, and Pauline Kopich.
A memorial Mass for Mae will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in the Falls, where friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time, followed by inurnment at Northlawn Cemetery, Avenue of the Flags. (Dunn-Quigley, Ciriello & Carr, Falls Chapel, 253-8121.)

Grace M. Deterling
Grace M. Deterling, 83, passed away March 18, 1998.
Born in Akron, Mrs. Deterling lived all her life in the area, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Albert F., in 1994, she is survived by her devoted son and loving daughter-in-law, Dennis and Judy Deterling of Springfield Township; grandchildren, Michael of Cleveland, Donna and her husband, Brian Boucher, of Columbus; great-grandson, Evan Boucher; brother, Jacob Salyerds of Akron; and loving niece, Karyn Warren of Youngstown.

Andrew M. Duhon
Andrew M. Duhon, 74, passed away Friday, March 27, 1998, at the Hospice Care Center, after a long illness.
He was born April 9, 1923, in Akron, where he lived until moving to Green in 1989. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II for over four years in the South Pacific, and nine years at the Akron Naval Air Station. He was the owner-operator of Milandy's for 32 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church for the past five years, and of St. Paul Catholic Church for over 40 years. He was a lifetime member of Jednota Branch 553, FCSLA Branch 560, and the Hoban Booster Club. He golfed with the Jednota League for 19 years, won four championships, and enjoyed a hole-in-one in 1995.
Mr. Duhon was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Andrew Duhon; brothers, Michael and John; and sisters, Helen Tichy, Mary Shumaker, Ann Greenwalt, and Josephine Duhon, and is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mildred; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and John Joseph Gless of Akron; sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew J. and Sherry of Gaithersburg, Md., Dennis and Anita of Wadsworth, Thomas and his fiancee, Cyndee Hammer, of Munroe Falls, Patrick and Karen of Seattle, Wash., and Mark of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Carrie, Stacie and Jodie Gless, Chad and Dean Duhon, Katherine and Devin Duhon, Andrew and Nicole Duhon, and Timothy and Mary Duhon; brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Jo Ann of Akron, and Walter and Marge of Uniontown; sisters-in-law, Blanche Duhon of Cuyahoga Falls and Mary Ann Duhon of Kenmore; mother-in-law, Frances Genda; niece, Joan (Fred) Kasburg of Kent; sisters-in-law, Marie (Richard) Wooley of Akron, Teresa Koneck of Green, and Donna Genda of Appleton, Wis.; brother-in-law, William (Irene) Genda of Munroe Falls; many nieces and nephews.

Barbara Faye Edwards, 67, passed away at her home March 16, 1998.

Ethel Mae Elsholz, 76, went to be with the Lord on March 22, 1998.
She was a homemaker, and is survived by her husband of 18 years, William R.; son, Clark (Sue) Fleming of Virginia; daughter, Myra (Jonnie) Wadell of North Carolina; stepchildren, Tim (Andrea) Elsholz of Akron, Melissa (Ed) Rice of Florida; brother, Doyal (Barb) Huff of California; sisters, Norma Johnson of Indiana and Mary Bordacs of Barberton; seven grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be dearly missed.

Douglas Lee Englehart
Douglas Lee Englehart, 57, passed away March 18, 1998.
He was born in Salem, Ohio, and was a lifetime resident of the area. He served in the U. S. Air Force, and was previously a member of Stow Lodge 769 F&AM, A.A.S.R. Valley of Canton, Tadmor Temple Shrine, and O.E.S. He was a member of the Eagles.
He is survived by father, John Douglas Englehart of Florida; daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Ron Reeves of Akron, Angela and Chris Lueck of Cuyahoga Falls; ex-wife, Shirley Englehart; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Dick Michaels; nieces, Robyn and Crystal; and six grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m., at the Schlup-Pucak Funeral Chapel, Kenmore Boulevard at Eighth Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

John M. Ericson Jr.
WADSWORTH -- John M. Ericson Jr., 86, died Saturday, March 21, 1998 at Wadsworth Rittman Hospital.
Born in DuBois, Pa., Mr. Ericson resided in Wadsworth since 1956. He was a Workers Compensation Field Auditor for the State of Ohio in Medina, Summit and Portage counties, retiring in 1978 with 13 years service. He was previously employed in the Accounting Department of DuBois Brewing Company, National Steel Company in Detroit, and Rockwell International in Barberton. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, a former member of the Church Council, and in the Church Choir for 28 years. He was a former member of the Wadsworth Kiwanis Club, the Chippewa Valley Barbershop Chorus, treasurer of the Barberton Toastmasters, Friends of the Library, and a volunteer probation officer.
Mr. Ericson is survived by wife, Martha Jane; brothers, Robert E. of DuBois, Pa., Russell E. of Denver, Col., and D. Martin of Seneca, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.

A resident of Norton for 40 years, she was a member of the Norton Church of Christ.

Harold E. Evans
Harold E. Evans, 77, went home to be with the Lord March 20, 1998.
Mr. Evans was born in Akron on Sept. 6, 1920. He was honorably discharged after serving with the U.S. Army during World War II and had worked for Firestone, Goodyear and BF Goodrich Rubber Companies.
He is survived by his daughters, Janice and Lisa; brother, Dale (Phyllis) Evans and sister, Joe Ann (Jim) McClung.
