Mary A. Teagle (Witty)
Mary A. Teagle, 70, died unexpectedly March 19, 1998.
Born in Decatur, Ill., to B.L. and Katie Witty, she was a life long resident of the Akron area. She was a 1945 graduate of Kenmore High School and a 1949 graduate of the University of Akron.
Mary was an active community volunteer with activities ranging from PTA and room mother at Smith School to teaching English as a Second Language classes at the International Institute. She served as a Girl Scout troop leader for many years, taught Sunday School and was a ``Band Mom'' at Kenmore High. She was an active advocate for youth and served as the Gifted Children Coordinator for her MENSA chapter. Other memberships included the Summit County Historical Society, AAUW, College Club and Kenmore Community Center and she was a supporter of various charitable and service organizations including Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Haven of Rest Ministries and Keep Akron Beautiful.
She was preceded in death by husband, Phillip G. Teagle in 1995 after 45 years of marriage. She is survived by 4 children and their families, Judith (Robert) Jamison of Avon Lake, Laura (Paul M.) of Akron, Paul (Laura) Teagle of Stow, John (Melanie) Teagle of Queens, New York; grandchildren, Michael, Jenny, Molly, Nancy and David Jamison, Melanie and Megan Evans, Alex and Aldan Teagle and Cassidy Teagle; sister, Betty (John) Hepler of South Carolina; several cousins and a multitude of close friends and neighbors.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 22 at Prentice Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. Cremation will take place. Graveside memorial service will be at Greenlawn Cemetery on Tuesday, March 24, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Firestone High School Performing Arts Program, 333 Rampart Avenue, Akron, Ohio 44313 or Keep Akron Beautiful Floralscape Program, 450 East Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44304. Corinne D. Thomas
Corinne D. Thomas passed away Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at 105 years of age.
She was born Dec. 5, 1892, in Kentucky. She was raised and educated there, teaching school as a young woman. Mrs. Thomas touched many lives in the Akron area, teaching private piano lessons for over 70 years. She was a member of Gospel Crusaders Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Estill Jr. and Garnet Thomas; daughter, Jean Catlin; son-in-law, Russell L. Young; 23 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; good friends and caregivers, June Hill and Teri Greene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Estill D. Thomas; son, James Thomas; and daughters, Paulyne Hovatter, Dorothy Wands, and Sallie Young.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the caring staff at Bath Manor.

Richard L. Tomko, 66, of Aurora, formerly of Pepper Pike, died March 20, 1998.
He was the husband of Nina (Novy); father of Richard (Doris) of Bainbridge Township, Mark of Chagrin Falls, Sharon Pillow (Harvey) of Gainesville, Fla., and Laurie of Columbus; stepfather of Timothy Hughes of Indiana and James Hughes of Lyndhurst; grandfather of Eric, Kelly, Cody, and Callie; brother of Robert (Mardi) of Chagrin Falls.
Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at St. Joan of Arc Church, 496 E. Washington St., Chagrin Falls. Friends received at Stroud-Lawrence Funeral Home, 95 S. Franklin St., Chagrin Falls, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.

Betty Louise Topkins (McDowell-Kwansniski), beloved mother, grandmother, and friend went home with ``Jesus'' on March 27, 1998.
``She fought A Good Fight'' and will be greatly missed by her children, Paul McDowell, Cheryl Whitcher, Gerry McDowell, Pamela Starr, Eric McDowell; sister, Pat Saxe; special friend, Robert Kwasniski; her many grandchildren, and the many others whose lives she touched.

Paul R. Trumphour, 82, passed away Monday, March 23, 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie; five children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Esther L. Turner
Esther L. Turner, 70 of Manchester, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998 at Barberton Citizens Hospital.
Born in Barberton and a life resident, she attended Manchester Trinity Chapel.
Preceded in death by husband, Edison in 1988 and by sisters, Betty Lou, Anna Mae and Evelyn and by brothers Porter, Jr. and Raymond Anderson, she is survived by daughters, Margie of Canton, Mary of Clinton; sons, Herbert and Ernie of Clinton; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Hazel Tichon of California; brothers, Robert Anderson of Canal Fulton and William Anderson of Clinton.

Beatrice Hosken Tutton
CLINTON -- Beatrice Hosken Tutton died March 26, 1998.
Born Oct. 11, 1897, in Hallowell, Maine, she moved with her family to Buffalo, N. Y., in 1911. She attended public schools and graduated from Bryant & Stratton Business College. An active musician, she sang with several well-known Buffalo musical groups and church choirs. She was a Bible teacher, elder, and leader. In 1961, she moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., with her husband, where she continued her musical and church activities. She was employed as a bookkeeper, moving to Clinton in 1994, and became a member of Fairlawn Lutheran Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, George, she is survived by daughters, Dr. Betty Jane Tutton of Clearwater, Fla., and Jean (Rev. Richard) Ross of Clinton; granddaughters, Elizabeth Jane Ross of Clinton and Kathryn Anne Ross of Clearwater, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.
Interment has taken place. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 29, at 7 p.m., at Fairlawn Lutheran Church. Memorial gifts may be made to Fairlawn Lutheran Church, 3415 W. Market St., Fairlawn 44333. (Campfield-Hickman-Collier, 745-3161.)
Robert Dale VanDerlin
Robert Dale VanDerlin, 64, passed away March 22, 1998.
He was born in Canton, and lived most of his life in the Tallmadge area. He retired from the Uniwear Co. in 1991, served in the United States Marine Reserves, attended the Southeast Church of the Nazarene, was a memeber of the Ohio Wagon Train Assocation, served with the Summit County Fair Board, and was active with the 4 H Club and the Boy Scouts of America.
He is survived by his wife, Gerry; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Hiltner of Bolivar, Ohio; mother, Marguerite Scott of Tallmadge; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Charlotte VanDerlin of Akron, Myron and Olga VanDerlin of Green; granddaughters, Amanda and Emily Hiltner.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Southeast Church of the Nazarene, 771 Dunbar Rd., Tallmadge 44278, Dr. George Hazlett officiating. Interment at Tallmadge Cemetery.
