TALLMADGE -- Elizabeth Galambos, 77, went home to be with the Lord April 11, 1998.
Born in Hungary, she was a faithful member of The Chapel, and was very active in the nursery department.
Mrs. Galambos was the loving wife of husband, Andrew; and the loving mother of daughter, Trudy T. (Larry) Smith of Tallmadge; sons, Edward A. (Barbara) of Tallmadge, Gus E. of Tallmadge, and David T. (Lori) of Cuyahoga Falls; the loving grandmother of seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Esther S. Galloway
Esther S. Galloway, 100, died April 13, 1998.
Mrs. Galloway was born in Adams Mills, Ohio, and had lived in the Akron area the last 65 years. A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Akron, she had attended the College of Wooster.
Preceded in death by her husband, John M. Galloway; and son, James M. Galloway, she is survived by her daughters, Jeanette Murphy of Northford, Conn., and Gwendolyn Dulaney of Gainesville, Fla.; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Evans of Cincinnati, Ohio; niece, Elizabeth Hooker of Wooster; nephew, Scott Evans of Cincinnati, Ohio; and lifelong friends, Bill and Barbara Gardella of Cuyahoga Falls.

Albert L. Gartrell, 74, passed away April 9, 1998.
He was born in Barberton, Ohio and lived in the Tallmadge area since 1962. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of the First Church of God, and retired from the Ford Motor Co. in 1986 after 30 years of service.
Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Helen Franks, he is survived by his wife, Betty Jo; daughter, Joyce Ann Kane of Barberton; son, Roger of Tallmadge; granddaughter, Tracie Lynn Sipe of Barberton; sisters, Bette Milich of Barberton, and June (Fred) Patera of Broadview Heights; brother-in-law, Claire Franks of Barberton; special nieces and nephews.

Estelle L. (Kinnan) Gates
Estelle L. (Kinnan) Gates, 88, passed away April 1, 1998, at her residence.
She was born in Atwater, Ohio, and had lived in the Akron area most of her life. Mrs. Gates was a member of Lockwood Methodist Church and O.E.S. Lakes Chapter 567. Estelle retired after many years service from DeWitt-Jenkins Realty.
Preceded in death by son, Gerald Kinnan, she is survived by husband, Stewart; daughter, Ellen (Tom) Shaffer of Cuyahoga Falls; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

DOYLESTOWN -- Esther T. Genet, age 76, died unexpectedly April 7, 1998.
She was born in Barberton and had been a resident of Doylestown since 1965. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Altar Society and Barberton Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary.

Charles C. Gilbride
Charles C. Gilbride, 83, of Akron, died April 1, 1998.
Mr. Gilbride was born in Akron and was a lifelong resident who graduated from St. Vincent's High School, Class of '31. He retired as a supervisor in quality control from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. with 34 years of service. Mr. Gilbride's memberships included St. Vincent's Catholic Church (life member), where he was an usher, the Holy Name Society, Derbytown Chorus, the Highland Square Seniors, and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and a 15-gallon blood donor.
Preceded in death by his wife, Doris; his son, William; and his daughter, Ann Burkhardt, he leaves his daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Charles Kline of Brimfield, Gail and Charles Stamper of Raytown, Mo.; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Diane of Hudson, Fla., Mark and Judy of Smithville, Mo., David and Charlotte of Tallmadge; sister-in-law and caregiver, Helen Reinhart; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Helen, all of Akron; 25 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Arthur J. Gissinger
BARBERTON -- Arthur J. Gissinger, 74, passed away March 30, 1998.
Born Aug. 29, 1923, he served with the U. S. Army during World War II, and received the Purple Heart for wounds he received. While convalescing in Paris, France, he met his first and only love, his wife, Jeanne, who preceded him in death June 15, 1997. He worked at Babcock & Wilcox in Barberton whle attending the University of Akron for architectural drafting. He belonged to the Barberton Carpenters Local 1935 and later Local 639. He was a superintendent for Ruhlin Construction Co., Libert Construction Co., Aurora Construction Co., and Passalaqua on renovation of the Mayflower Hotel in downtown Akron. He worked on the restoration of historic homes in the Cuyahoga National Parks, where he received service awards for his outstanding work, and retired from the National Park Service in 1988.
He is survived by his sons, Arthur K. (Jan) Sr. of Randolph and Anthony C. (Ruth) of Norton; daughter, Genny V. (John) Hull of Barberton; grandchildren, John (Debbie) Hull, Scott Hull, Amanda Gissinger, Arthur Gissinger Jr., Jason W. Prekopa and Anthony C. Gissinger II; great-grandchildren, Patrick Hull, Aubre Gissinger, and Jason D. Prekopa; brothers, Clement (Dorothy) of Clinton, David (Carol) of Akron, and Karl (Penny) of Wadsworth; sister, Veronica Papp of Akron; numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy L. Goetz
Dorothy L. Goetz, 75, died March 29, 1998, at her residence in Clackamas, Ore.
She was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Harrietsville, Ohio and had lived in Clackamas, Ore., for 15 years. She was a homemaker. She was married to William Carl Goetz on Nov. 25, 1946; he preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1972. During World War II, she was employed as a secretary at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. She later worked for the B & W Co. in Barberton. She had been an active volunteer at the Milwaukie Senior Center in Milwaukie, Ore.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Pabst and Anna Thomas Pabst. She is survived by son, William D. Goetz of Columbus; daughter, Mrs. Joan Moore of Estacada, Ore.; grandsons, Dustin Moore and Brian Moore, both of Estacada, Ore.
A funeral and tribute service will be held TODAY at 6:30 p.m. at the Stehn's Milwaukie Funeral Home in Milwaukie, Ore. Pastor Vern Kirstein of Gresham, Ore., will participate. Private vault interment will be held at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth. Robert ``Bob'' Grant
Robert ``Bob'' Grant, 76, died after a short illness.
A life resident of Akron, he was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, past master of Joppa Lodge 666 F&AM, past sovereign prince Adar Council-Princes of Jerusalem, Tadmor Shrine, Past Master Unit, and Cuyahoga Falls Shrine Club. He received the Meritorious Service Award and served as secretary-treasurer of the Akron Masonic Benefit Association. Bob was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber where he was an engineer.
Mr. Grant is survived by wife of 52 years, Evelyn; daughter, Kathy; granddaughter, Priscilla; niece, Mary Ellen Fox; nephew, Daniel Zak; niece, Sandra Mangus; and sister-in-law, Lena Mangus.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 765 Thayer St., with Rev. Jeffery Richards officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Benjamin J. Gryvalsky
Benjamin J. Gryvalsky, 72, of Cuyahoga Falls, died Saturday, April 4, 1998.
Mr. Gryvalsky was born in Cambridge, Ohio, on May 12, 1925. He had been a resident of Cuyahoga Falls for the past 41 years, was a veteran of the United States Navy, and a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. He retired in 1986 from the B. F. Goodrich Tire and Rubber Co. in the Engineering Division. He had 39 years of service.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Caroline; brothers, Steven and Fred; and son, Patrick. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pauline; sons, Mark of Cuyahoga Falls and Michael of Denver, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Cathy Gryvalsky; grandson, Jason; and sister, Pauline Costello of Fontana, Calif.
