Llius Landrum-Smith
Llius Landrum-Smith, 43, passed from this earthly life to heavenly glory on April 3, 1998. She confessed Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She lived and worked in California for 15 years and had returned to Akron three years ago. Llius loved people and worked as co-founder and director of the Youth Summit Program -a- Youth Ministry, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to all. Llius graduated from Central Hower and attended Grambling University in Louisiana. Llius is survived by her husband, Tony; mother, Betty (George) Brown; father, Julius (Brenda) Landrum Sr.; grandmother, Eleanora Dillard; sister, Ulius (Vincent) Benson; brothers, David Hartwell, Julius (Mary) Landrum Jr., DeLandis, Darius, and Julian Landrum; a host of nieces, relatives and friends. Mildred F. LaRue
Mildred F. LaRue, 81, passed away April 6, 1998, in Louisville, Ohio. She was born Sept. 18, 1916, in Windber, Pa. She is survived by her brother, Joseph E. Seger of Akron; niece, Judy Shinn; and nephews, Terry and Gary Seger. (CREMATION SOCIETY OF OHIO, 535-1012.)

Timothy Lautenschlager
Timothy Lautenschlager, 38, passed away March 31, 1998. Preceded in death by his older brother, James, he is survived by his parents, James and Mary Jane; brother, Jeff; grandmother, Maxine Adams; aunt and uncle, Tom and Eunice; cousins; and nephew, Matthew. Chimo Lazos
Chimo Lazos, 91, died April 1, 1998. Born in Lilea, Greece, she had been a resident of Akron since 1927. She was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, where she was very actively involved with the weekly luncheons, church bazaars, and bake sales. She was a member of Philoptochos Society Melissa, and Elpis. Preceded in death by her husband, Harry, in 1968, she is survived by her daughter, Tessie Lazos of Akron; daughter and son-in-law, Sophie and Peter George of Bath Township; grandchildren, Stephen and Dean George, and Christina (Peter) Manousos; brother and sister-in-law, George and Chrysanthi Kanapitsas of Athens, Greece; and many nieces and nephews in Greece. Services will be held at 11 a.m. SATURDAY at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S. Union St., Akron, with Rev. Fr. Jerry Hall and Very Rev. Fr. George N. Bartz officiating. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may call at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., 5 to 8 p.m. FRIDAY, where a Trisayios service will be held at 6 p.m. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Anthony Retikas Memorial Scholarship Fund. Susan T. Ligas
BARBERTON -- Susan T. Ligas, 81, died April 2, 1998, at her residence. She was born in Barberton where she was a life resident, and was an employee of the former Seiberling Tire & Rubber Co. with 42 years service, retiring 21 years ago. She was a member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, and Jednota Lodge 425. Preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Mary Ligas and sister, Mary Kenna, she is survived by brothers, Andrew, Joseph, George, and Peter Ligas, all of Barberton, and Frank Ligas of Naples, Fla.; sisters, Elizabeth Ligas, Anne Shipka, Josephine Machek and Margaret Seifert, all of Barberton; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Monday, 9 a.m. at the Hahn Funeral Home, with 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Fr. Edward Lajack, celebrant, Fr. Emma Jean Tackett Lloyd
RITTMAN -- Emma Jean Tackett Lloyd (nee Daniels), 69, died Monday, April 20, 1998, at Akron City Hospital, after a brief illness. The family will receive friends TONIGHT, 7 to 9, at the Hilliard Cox Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., Rev. Christina Loeffler
Christina Loeffler, 82, died Sunday, April 5, 1998, at the Magnolia Care Center. She was born in Antonowicz, Yugoslavia, came to the United States in 1952, and to Akron in 1953. Mrs. Loeffler is survived by her husband of 59 years, George; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Hilde of Copley, and Steve and Ingrid of Wadsworth; sister and brother-in-law, Maria and Joseph Bakonyi; grandchildren, Cindy and Scott McElroy, Jim and Christy Loeffler, John David and Melissa Loeffler, Brian Loeffler and Scott Loeffler; and great-grandchild, Allan Loeffler. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., in the Ivy Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Rev. Mr. Dan Matusicky officiating. BARBERTON -- Jessie M. Lohrand, 93, passed away at Barberton Citizens Hospital Skilled Nursing Pavillion on April 12, 1998, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Her ``long goodbye'' is over. Jessie was born in Procterville, Ohio, and lived in Barberton, where she taught in the school system. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Eastern Star Jeannette Chapter 212 for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, Charles and Grace Bradshaw; brothers, Charles, Franklin, and Paul; and sisters-in-law, Maxcine, Billy, and Sue; and is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Cliff Kelley; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, James and Kathryn Lohrand; and many relatives and friends. Funeral services Thursday, 10 a.m., at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, Pastor Brian Cowan officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery. Robert L. Lovett
Robert L. Lovett, 85, passed away April 8, 1998, at Akron General Medical Center. Born in Hot Springs, Ark., he lived in this community 30 years. He was employed as a chef for the Fairlawn Country Club, last working in 1978. He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Preceded in death by wife, Lenora Lovett, he is survived by daughter, Mary Freeman of Grand Rapids, Mich.; son, Robert Lovett Jr.; brothers, Dan (Kinue) Lovett of Berkely, Calif., Otha (Georgetta) Burns of Rockford, Ill.; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Rual Cemetery in Rockford, Ill. Friends may call from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, with Rev. Senter officiating. NORTON -- Cloris B. Lowe, 92, of Norton, passed away March 30. Mrs. Lowe was born in Spencer, W. Va., and was a member of Valley Community Church in Barberton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Opelan and great-grandson, Steven Morris. She is survived by sons, Ernie (Gloria) of Akron, Ken (Cindi) of Franktown, Colo.; sisters-in-law, Virgie Lowe of Barberton and Jessie West of Mineral Wells, W. Va.; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; Donna Lowe, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Robert W. Lusk
Robert W. Lusk, 66, passed away March 27, 1998. Born in Akron, he lived his life in the area, served with the U. S. Army, and was a self-employed C.P.A. Bob was a graduate of North High School and The University of Akron. He was a member of the Ohio Society of C.P.A.s, Lone Star Alumni Council, AMVETS, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Akron. Bob is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughters and sons-in-law, LeeAnn and Michael Mier of Cuyahoga Falls, Laurie and Jeff Stacy of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Megan and Julianne Mier; brother, Roger Lusk of Columbus; sister-in-law, Sara Keller of Stow. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church of Akron, 263 E. Mill St., Akron, with Rev. D. Lynn Snider officiating.
