Catherine J. Darby, 88, passed away April 26, 1998.
Born in Mt. Pleasant, Pa., she lived in the Akron area most of her life. Mrs. Darby was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, and was also an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jack, in 1982, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, William and Frances of Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and George Peters of Tallmadge; grandchildren, William, John (Mary Beth), Alan (Michelle), and David (Joni); great-grandchildren, Christine and John; sisters, Josephine Reese and Irene Belt, both of Akron; and nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 10 a.m., at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2603 Benton St., Akron. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. David B. ``Buck'' Davis
NORTON -- David B. ``Buck'' Davis, 71, died April 23, 1998, at Akron General Medical Center.
He was born in Akron and resided the last 14 years in Norton. He retired from the Continental Insurance Co. as an insurance adjuster, and was currently employed with O'Brien Associates in Cleveland. A 1952 graduate of the University of Akron, he was member of the Akron Claims Association, was an avid golfer, and was a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by wife, Rosemary; sons, Gary (Susan) of Green, Geoffrey (Pattie), and Scott (Johanna), both of Akron, Daniel (Brenda) of Sacramento, Calif., and David (Sally) of Glendale, Calif.; daughters, Susan (Patrick) Stephens of North Royalton, Rebecca (David) Mossor of Uniontown; 19 grandchildren; and brother, Daniel of Ocean City, N. J.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m., at the Hahn Funeral Home, with Fr. Robert Wisniewski officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to St. Augustine Endowment Trust or one's favorite charity.

Mazie Dean
RITTMAN -- Mazie Dean, 81, died April 25, 1998, at Lincoln Manor in Orrville.
She was born in Prichard, W. Va., and lived most of her life in Rittman. She was a retired employee of the former Packaging Corp. of America. She was a member of the First Church of Christ.
Surviving are nieces and nephews, Rita Marty, Gary and Doug Dean, Michelle Caggiano, and Christine Wallace, all of Rittman; Kathy Dean of Stow, and Robyn Wallace of Wooster.
Services Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Rittman First Church of Christ. Rev. Sean Olson will officiate, with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Seville. Jasmyne Quaylon Dennis, 7, of Sandusky, died Tuesday morning at her residence, unexpectedly.
She is survived by her parents, John B. and Carla (Gregory) Dennis of Sandusky; sister, Domonique Dennis of Sandusky; maternal grandmother, Pearlene Gregory of Barberton; maternal grandfather, Henry Garcia of Copley; paternal grandparents, John and Grace Dennis of Sebring, Ohio; paternal great-grandmother, Alverta Campbell of Sebring, Ohio; maternal great-grandmother, Mildred Garcia of Akron. She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfathers, Henry Garcia and Johnnie Butler; her paternal great-grandmother, Katherine Dennis; and paternal great-grandfather, Kenneth Campbell.

James W. Dessecker Jr.
James W. Dessecker Jr., 78, passed away Sunday, April 26, 1998, in Baton Rouge, La.
A native of Ohio, he was a graduate of Oberlin College, and received his law degree from Case Western Reserve University, where he was a member of the Order of Coif and Law Review. He served in the U. S. Air Force in World War II. He was previously general counsel for I.M.C. Corp. in Chicago, Ill., and most recently was a resident of Baton Rouge, La.
Preceded in death by his wife, Joan Swain Dessecker; and parents, James W. Sr. and Elsie Quick Dessecker, he is survived by sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and John S. Hancock of Baton Rouge, La.; nieces, Elizabeth McVan of Akron, Christine W. Boettger of Wadsworth, Joan S. Prentice of Richmond Heights, Ohio, and Elizabeth Hancock Wetzel of Metairie, La.; nephews, John L. Wagner of Kent, John S. Hancock, III of Garland, Texas, Steven M. Hancock of Richardson, Texas, and Newton J. Prentice of Scottsdale, Ariz.

A life resident of Barberton, he retired from PPG Industries with 37 years service.

Sallie A. Dilworth
WADSWORTH -- Sallie A. Dilworth (nee Blake), 62, died Sunday, April 19, 1998, at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital due to complications from a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Dilworth was born in Weston, W. Va., and resided in Wadsworth 40 years. She was a member of the Wadsworth First Christian Church, where she was involved with several activities, including the choir. She was also an avid reader and received her Associate Degree in Applied Science from The University of Akron in 1992.
A loving grandmother, Mrs. Dilworth is survived by husband, Kenneth; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Kenneth Conger of Stow; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Susan of Barberton; granddaughter, Kelly Conger; grandson, Paul Dilworth; sister, Merita Jean Schaffter of Orrville; and brother, Harry M. Blake Jr. of Wadsworth.

Harry E. Dutt
Harry E. Dutt, 100, died at the Arbors at Fairlawn on April 16, 1998.
He was born in Franklin Township, Ohio, lived most of his life in the Akron area, and served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War I. He was a pioneer in the bus industry, founding his own bus line, the Dutt Transit Co., in 1921. He then went on to work with the Penn-Ohio Busline and Gold Star Transit Co. before completing his career with 15 years service at Greyhound Corp., retiring in 1958 as manager of the Akron Greyhound bus terminal.
He was a member of the Akron Optimist Club, where he was past president and served as treasurer for 16 years. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, where he was a former trustee, W. Edwin Palmer Lodge 718 F&AM, Akron Council, Youngstown Commandery, and Tadmor Shrine.
Mr. Dutt was preceded in death by wife of 57 years, Marie, and is survived by daughters, Annamae Harrison of Akron and Jane Greenwald of Wadsworth; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Christ United Methodist Church, with Rev. William Worth officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. There are no calling hours. Richard D. Dyer, 70, passed away April 16, 1998.
Born in Akron, he was an Army Air Corps veteran, and retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
Preceded in death by wife, M. Phyllis, in 1995, he is survived by sons, Edward (Maria) Dyer of Raleigh, N. C., David Dyer and Mark C. MANSFIELD -- G. Ellouise Laubert Dzurio, 82, of 484 Woodcrest Drive, died Monday morning, April 20, 1998, at Woodlawn Nursing Home, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Dzurio was born Nov. 6, 1915, in Akron, living in the Mansfield area since 1962. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband, William Dzurio of Mansfield; daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Edward Reneau of San Angelo, Texas; grandchildren, Robin Young, and Charles and Robert Reneau; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Briana Young and Chance Reneau; cousins and their spouses, Bruce and Aneta Harris of West Salem, Ohio, Walter Bauman and special friend, Myrle Laborne, of Akron, and Betty and Bob Cunningham of Doylestown.
