CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Jacob Michael Pacetti, 14 days, died May 14, 1998. He is survived by his parents, Bill Charles and Christine Pacetti, both of Cuyahoga Falls; brother, Billy Charles; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Charles of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Reatha and John Pacetti of Cuyahoga Falls; great-grandparents, Elaine and Nick Pacetti, formerly of Munroe Falls, and Hazel and Albert Brick of Munroe Falls; aunt and uncle, Shannon and John Pacetti of Cuyahoga Falls. Joseph L. Palm
Joseph L. Palm, 89, died April 30, 1998, in Mt. Pleasant, S. C. Born in Rochester, Pa., he had been a resident of Akron for 85 years. Mr. Palm was a brick mason and had received his 50-year pin in 1989. He joined the Akron City Fire Department, retiring in 1969, having made the grade of captain. He belonged to Henry Perkins Lodge 611, F&AM, and was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ. Mr. Palm is survived by his wife of 68 years, Beverly; daughter, Nancy Wagner of Mt. Pleasant, S. C.; grandchildren, Joseph Kaylor (wife, Robin) of Charlotte, N. C., and Kristy Barry (husband, Mark) of Mt. Pleasant; great-grandchildren, Katey, John, and Frankie; sister, Olivett Cook of Clinton; brother, David Palm of Akron; nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. SATURDAY, May 16, at the Billow TALLMADGE Chapel, 17 Southwest Ave., with Rev. Raymond W. Deuring officiating. Inurnment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Peggy Lee Palmer
``DEVOTED WIFE AND BELOVED MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER'' Peggy Lee Palmer entered her earthly life on May 5, 1941, and departed to her heavenly home on May 7, 1998. Peggy attended St. Paul's Catholic School and graduated from Garfield High School. She worked at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for many years until leaving to begin a new life as a wife and mother. Peggy was the second daughter of Erva and the late Samuel Palmer in Firestone Park. She was the devoted wife of George; loving mother of Susan (Jeff) Onspaugh, Larry (Patty), Barry (Kathy), Denise (Howard) Johnson, Beverly (Bill), Thomas (Christy). She was adored by her grandchildren, Ronald, Patrick, Ashley, Samantha, Scott, Barry Jr., Donette, Samuel, Devon, Tony, Johnny, Jimmy, Larry Jr., and Todd. She also leaves, to grieve, her sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Russ Sheppard; nieces, Chris and Kelly; and nephew, Stevie. Peggy will be missed by a host of extended family and friends, and her very special angel, Dominique. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m., at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd.; and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Fr. Hilkert officiating. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, 4 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Mr. Holly W. Park
Mr. Holly W. Park, 82, of Ft. Myers, Fla., formerly of Parkersburg, W. Va., and Akron, Ohio, passed away May 8, 1998. He was the beloved husband of Mattie Louise Park; dear father of Richard Park and Barbara Athens; brother of Thelma Miller of Oklahoma City; grandfather of David Athens and Dorrie Yeager, and Tracie Piazza, and Brian Park; and great-grandfather of Alec Yeager. Service will be Wednesday, May 13 in Ocoee, Fla.

Donald E. Parker
MUNROE FALLS -- Donald E. Parker, 65, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 1998. He was born Jan. 14, 1933, in Akron, the son of Elza and Juna (Reed) Parker. He served his country in the Air Force. Mr. Parker worked 17 years for Chrysler Corp. in Twinsburg until retirement in 1973 due to his health. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Johnnie. He is survived by wife, Gail; children, Shellie Parker of Mogadore, Mark (Becky) Parker of Cuyahoga Falls, Erin (Rick) Montecalvo of Mogadore; grandchildren, Mary Beth Parker, Shane Parker, Derek Montecalvo, and Nicholas Montecalvo; great-granddaughter, Rebekah Atwood; brother, Elza (Joanne) Parker Jr. of Hudson; sister, Elise Wagner of Mount Jewett, Pa.; sister-in-law, Melba Parker; special friend, Bud Phillips; and many nieces, nephews, and aunts. Harold C. Parker
Harold C. Parker, 82, died April 28, 1998. Mr. Parker was born in Indianapolis, Ind., and had lived in the Akron area since 1963. A Presbyterian, he was a Mason and a member of the Tadmor Temple. He retired from the Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. after 35 years of service. Preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, in 1970, he is survived by his son, Philip C. (Marilyn) Parker of Columbus; daughter, Pamela Sue (Thomas) Liotta of Charlotte, N. C.; grandchildren, Matthew Parker, Michael Liotta, Tracy and Chris Liotta; and best friend, June Black. Services will be held at 2 p.m. FRIDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Rev. Ron Marmaduke officiating. Interment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Evelyn P. Patton
Evelyn P. Patton, 81 years, of Copley died April 29, 1998 at the Hospice Care Center. Evelyn was born in Akron and had been a resident of Copley for 40 years. She was a member of Kenmore United Methodist Church and AARP. Preceded in death by her husband, Douglas E. Patton on January 25, 1995; she is survived by nieces, Barbara A. Barkey of Fairlawn, Connie (Ken) Clausen of Doylestown; cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services Saturday 2 p.m. at the Hummel Funeral Home West, 3475 Copley Road, Copley. Rev. Lois Peake
Lois Peake, 62, went home to be with the Lord on May 3, 1998, at Akron General Medical Center, after a short illness. Born in McIntyre, Ga., she had lived in this community for over 57 years. She was employed by Ameritech as a supervisor for 35 years. She was a member of Saint John C.M.E. Church. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Peake Franklin of Akron and Teresa E. Peake of Detroit, Mich.; son, Kenneth T. Peake; mother, Clara Collins, both of Akron; grandchildren, La Mia, Shanelle, Whitney, Chardai, all of Akron, and Amber of Los Angeles, Calif.; brother, Ben Myricks of Milledgeville, Ga.; special friend, Harold Wright of Akron; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives. Anthony Mathew Pepe
Anthony Mathew Pepe, 8, of Reynoldsburg, died Friday, May 1, 1998, at Childrens Hospital. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Parish School of Religion, Kids-N-Kamp, and honored patient of the Leukemia Society and Team in Training. He is survived by his parents, Mathew and Michele Pepe of Reynoldsburg; brother, C. J. Pepe; maternal grandparents, Donald and Barbara MacDonald of Doylestown, Ohio; paternal grandparents, Mathew and Glenda Pepe of East Liverpool, Ohio; great-grandmother, Lucille MacDonald of Medina, Ohio; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends, ``Anthony's Army''. Family will receive friends Sunday 2 to 5 p.m., and Monday 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 East Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio, where funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, with the Fr. Rex J. Phillips, former owner of Rex's Body Shop, and Akron resident for the past 45 years, went home to be with Jesus on May 12, 1998. NORTON -- Pauline Pilat, 77, passed away peacefully on April 30, 1998. Patti Jo (McKnight) Powell
SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP -- Patti Jo (McKnight) Powell, 30, passed away unexpectedly May 10, 1998. Born in Rochester, Pa., she was a life resident of the area, and a member of the P.T.A. at Young Elementary School. Preceded in death by Grandma and Grandpa McKnight, Grandpa Smith; and uncles, Don and Ernest Smith, she is survived by her husband of 10 years, Eddie; son, Christopher Edwin; daughter, Meagan Jonet; parents, Keith and Janet McKnight; brothers, Brian McKnight, Jim (Carree) McKnight, and Randee McKnight; sister, Terri Sepesie; and numerous relatives and friends. Patti loved her family and will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Funeral services will be Friday, 10 a.m., at the Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Annie Lois Powers (Sis)
Annie Lois Powers, 84, went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 1998. Annie was born Nov. 2, 1913, in Sylacauga, Ala. She was the fourth of 13 children born to John Henry and Mattie Price Powers (``MAP''). Annie was brought to Akron at the age of four. At an early age Annie became a member of the Roberts Street Church of God, serving faithfully. She attended the Akron Public Schools, Robinson and East High. She retired from the B. F. Goodrich Co. with 31 years of service while also being an active and outstanding member of the community. Annie was preceded in death by parents and four brothers. She is survived by brothers, William (Carol), Walter (Helen), Eddie (Eula), and Ben; sisters, Mattie Louise (Preston) Andrus, Carol L. Powers; sister-in-law, Irene Powers; special great-great-niece, Arres Boykin. She shared a close and special love for all of her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A going-home celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Temple Baptist Church, 515 Ardella Ave., Rev. Mark Tony Ward officiating. Interment at Mount Peace Cemetery. Harley A. Prather
Harley A. Prather, 80, of Jackson Township, died May 7, 1998, at his residence, after a short illness. Born April 21, 1918, in Lawford, W. Va., to Harley Owen and Ossa Jeri (Riddle) Prather, he lived in Massillon for the past 26 years before coming from Green. He worked at Akwell Industries in Akron as a factory worker for 37 years, and retired in 1975; he also worked as a self-employed contractor and built homes. Mr. Prather was a member of the Foresters. Harley loved sports, and was an avid golfer and bowler. Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife, Shirley (Snyder) Prather; sons, Larry A. Prather of Cuyahoga Falls and Dale A. Prather of Akron; stepsons, Terry Oblisk of Massillon, John Oblisk of Jackson Township, and Steve Oblisk of Massillon; brothers, Arden Prather of Alabama, Richard Prather of Ellet and Don Prather of Akron, and Claude Prather; sisters, Ann Cowley of Tucson, Ariz., Dolores Myers of Belton, Texas, Dorothy Orions, Helen Lynch, and Bertie Lou Prather, all of Akron; 16 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Memorial services will be Sunday at the Golden Villa Reception Hall in Massillon. George Price
George Price, 83, passed away April 28, 1998, in Akron. He was born Aug. 8, 1914, in Belington, W. Va., to his parents, Howard and Cinda Price. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. He worked for W. G. Lockhart & H. B. Lockhart Construction Co. for over 40 years, and was a retired member of Local 18 International Union of Operating Engineers. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia; second wife of 46 years, Marion E.; five brothers, two sisters; and son-in-law, Butch Purkey. He is survived by his daughters, Patty Matheny of Pensacola, Fla., Joyce Purkey of Vienna, W. Va., Valerie Woodward of Copley and son-in-law, Clint Woodward; brothers, Dick (Betty) Price of Port Orange, Fla., and Bill (Emma) Price of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Paula Bucci, Jody (Mara) Purkey, Jay Purkey, Joe Woodward, and Emily Woodward; great-grandson, Frankie Bucci. Viola J. Price
Viola J. Price, 77, died Wednesday, May 20, 1998. Mrs. Price was born in Akron and was a homemaker. She was a volunteer for the American Heart Association, and was an avid gardener and card player. Preceded in death by her daughter, Carol L., Mrs. Price is survived by her husband, Leonard; sons, Wayne and Keith, both of Akron, and Brian of Harwich Port, Mass.; sister, Jean Theiss of Akron; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends TODAY from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the CIRIELLO FUNERAL HOME--ROSE HILL CHAPEL, 3653 W.
