Ali H. Daood
Ali H. Daood, 54, passed away May 29, 1998, after a brief illness.
He was born in Akron, and was a lifetime resident of this community. He was employed at B & W for 30 years, and a member of Boilermakers Local 900.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Habeeb and Rasheeda Daood; brothers, Clarence A. Thomas, Benjamin F. Thomas, and Omar Daood; sister, Jameela Board. He is survived by daughter, Adrienne Ponce of Sarasota, Fla.; sons, Ali Daood and Kevin Wright of Buffalo, N. Y.; faithful companion of 13 years, Jeanne Muffley of Cuyahoga Falls; sisters, Syeeda Wilkins of Suffield, Conn., Saleema Harris-Anderson, Humdha Jones of Akron, and Fatima Ardis of Holt, Mich.; brothers, Nimeer and Khali of Akron; sisters-in-law, Chris Daood and Chleyon Thomas of Akron, and Marie Thomas of Detroit, Mich.; brothers-in-law, Horace Jones of Akron, Herman Board of Detroit, Mich., and Wesley Ardis of Holt, Mich.; four grandchildren, and many, many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 1, 1998, at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Edward Wheat officiating. Interment at Glendale Cemetery. Ann D. Davis, 48, went to be with the Lord on May 15, 1998 at the Hospice Center.
She was born in Akron and had lived in the community all of her life. She was employed with the Village Thrift Store.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Rosco and Flora Hughley. She is survived by her husband, Eddie Davis, Jr.; sons, Hansel and Ronel (Myisa) Hughley; daughter, Tawan (Greg) Justice; all of Akron; five grandchildren; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Heather Derrenberger
Heather Ann Derrenberger, 20, of Loudonville, died Friday at her home, following a two-year illness.
She was the salutatorian of Loudonville High School Class of 1995, where she was a member of the softball team. She was an honorary member of the 1997 Loudonville state champion softball team. She was a founding member of the Ohio Naturals Girls Softball Team of Stow. She was a member of Loudonville United Methodist Church. She had attended Ohio Northern University, where she was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Freshman Honors Society.
Surviving are her parents, Curtis and Marilyn (Seffens) Derrenberger of Loudonville; sister, Jennifer Derrenberger of Perrysville; brother, Michael Derrenberger at home; grandparents, Dwight and Marcella Derrenberger of Mansfield, Aurelia Seffens of Loudonville, and Wilbur Seffens of Alliance; aunts, uncles, cousins, and the community at large that loved her dearly.
Funeral services Monday at 11 a.m. at Loudonville United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Loudonville Cemetery. Anna Dillard
Anna Dillard, 94, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 1998, at Akron General Medical Center.
She will be remembered for the thousands of Rosaries that she made for the missions, the sick, many school children, and individuals.
Preceded in death by husband, Gerson, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jackie of Grand Rapids, Mich.; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Charles Balaj of Akron; sisters, Pauline (Andrew) Mehok of Akron, Josephine Fenstermaker of Cuyahoga Falls, and Margaret (Kenneth) Dannemiller of Hudson, Fla.; nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:15 a.m., at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd.; and at 11 a.m. at Francesca Residence Chapel. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Marion H. Dingledine ``Diney''
HUDSON -- Marion H. Dingledine ``Diney,'' 83, died Thursday at Akron General Hospital.
Mr. Dingledine was a resident of Hudson since 1951. From 1943 to 1960, he was a dairy farmer; from 1960 to 1981, he worked for Hudson Township, and retired as road superintendent. He was a member of the Darrow Street Grange and the Hudson Senior Citizens.
Preceded in death by his brother, Leonard D. Dingledine; sisters, Bernice Jorgensen and Grace Miller, he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeanette (nee Jenkins); sons, Edward (Rebecca) of Ashland, Ohio, Les of Glennellen, Ill., and Rick (friend, Jennifer) of Stow; grandsons, Doug, Dan, Jason, and Ben.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Volunteers of the Hudson E.M.S. or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 6971 Promway N.W., N. Canton, Ohio 44720. Services will be held Monday, May 18, 1998, at 1:30 p.m., at Johnson-Romito, a Golden Rule Funeral Home, 19 E. Rosa B. Dobos
BARBERTON -- Rosa B. Dobos, 84, died May 16, 1998.
She was born July 14, 1913 in Harrison County, Piedmont, Ohio. The daughter of the late Clyde and Altha Luyster Wright. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, F.O.E. Portage Lakes, W.O.T.M. Barberton No. 759, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary No. 1066, and many other organizations.
Preceded in death by husband, Joseph; brothers, Carl, Clyde Jr., Lewis, James, and sisters, Florence and Beatrice. Surviving are brothers, Ralph Wright of Piedmont, Ohio, Albert Wright of Carrollton, Ohio; sisters, Irene Byers of Barberton and Darlene Van Fossen of Flushing, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

Cheryl L. Dotson, 67, of Akron, passed away unexpectedly May 17, 1998.
She was born in Akron and was a life resident of the area. Mrs. Dotson was a member of First Evangelical Congregational Church, and had retired from Summit County Children Services. Cheryl was a loving wife and mother and will be dearly missed.
Preceded in death by parents, Gross and Martha Stover; and daughter, Denise Dotson, she is survived by husband, William I.; children, William (Cynthia) of Lake Township, James (Ann) of Woodland Hills, Calif., Diane (Richard) Thatcher of Columbus, Donna (Fredrick) Combs of Akron, John of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Dorothy Dotson of Akron; sisters, Gloria (George) Strong of Pennsylvania, Beverly (Oll) Vollman of Canton; grandchildren, Elaine, William, and Sharon Dotson of Lake Township, Melissa and Jennifer Combs of Akron, and Alison Gunther of Tampa, Fla.; many nieces and nephews.

Frank Charles Duke
Frank Charles Duke, 92, passed away May 28, 1998.
Mr. Duke was born in Hacker Valley, West Virginia on September 21, 1905. He worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber for 45 years and was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Hancel; son, Frank S. Duke of Ariz.; granddaughters, Susan Talley and Leslie Talley Sagunsky of Calif.

Bernice Ekus (nee Sobel)
Bernice Ekus (nee Sobel), 93, died Wednesday, May 20, 1998.
She was born in Poland and was a longtime resident of Akron. She was a member of Revere Road Synagogue, JCC of Akron and its Auxiliary, and Mizrachi.
Mrs. Ekus was preceded in death by husband, Sam; was the devoted mother and mother-in-law of Leonard and Sally, and Marlene and Chet Fortnoff, all of Akron; dearest grandmother of four, great-grandmother of six; and dear sister of Dr. Marvin Sobel of Beechwood and Betty Gordon of Houston, Texas.
A graveside service will be held at Anshe Sfard Cemetery (on Swartz Road) TODAY at 2 p.m., Rabbi Mendy Sasonkin officiating. The family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Ekus Saturday evening through Monday. In lieu of other remembrances, the family suggests donations to Menorah Park or Revere Road Synagogue.

William T. Elrod
William T. Elrod, 64, died May 29, 1998.
An area resident all his life, he served in the Marines during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of Firestone Post 3383 V.F.W., Telephone Pioneers, and C.W.A. He retired from AT&T in 1989 after 33 years service and then worked for Akron Safety Light.
Preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, in 1996, he is survived by sons, Kevin (fiancee, Melody Bedlion) and Keith of Akron, and Kyle of Branson, Mo.; daughters, Kim (Robert) Lowery, Kelly Elrod, and Karla Hall, all of Akron; grandchildren, Kristin Elrod, Miranda Hall, Tonya Hall, and Kimberly Lowery; brother, Fred (Karen); sisters, Judy Lee and Sarah (David) Michelli, all of Akron.
